Infirmary

Shota Aizawa is not having a great day, especially when he is experiencing immense pain after waking up. The first thing he sees when he wakes up is Midnight and Present Mic looking at him, letting out a sigh of relief as they see their closest friend finally wake up.

"You really scared me to death, Sho!" Present Mic exclaims.

"W-what happen? Where's the kid!?" Aizawa exclaims before getting up, and wince in pain.

"Easy there, Sho…" Midnight says gently. "You have been unconscious for a few days now. Recovery Girl didn't want to risk spending too much of your stamina to heal every injury, so you are not at 100%."

"Why so? My injuries weren't that bad." Shota says as Midnight gives him a deadpan stare.

"Your skull was cracked open, your arm and your neck were broken, one of your ribs punctured your lungs, and you lost quite a lot of blood. Oh, let's not forget how your skull almost punctured your brain, and it takes surgery for Recovery Girl to even dare to heal you with her quirk." Midnight explains as Aizawa remains silent.

"Oh, also you're suspended from your job as a homeroom teacher," This got Aizawa's attention as he looked at Present Mic with wide eyes. Midnight gives her friend a look of exasperation. "What? Someone's gonna tell him,"

"Yes, but that doesn't mean you do it without any tact!" Midnight scolds him.

"H-how did it happen?" Aizawa asks quietly.

"You tell me," Present Mic says as Midnight facepalmed. "No offense, but we have warned you every single time regarding your 'logical ruses' or else one day, it'll come back to bite you in your ass. You didn't listen because you think it's a 'logical solution'."

"Despite Hizashi's choice of words, I had to agree with him." This made Aizawa look at her in betrayal. "Sho, the students you expelled receive a black mark due to the expulsion. And you should know what a black mark could've done to kids. Sure, a lot of Hero Course Students were rough around the edge, but with proper guidance, you could guide them to be better. It's a job as their teacher. But, you straight up kick them out because they have 'no potential' and leave them with the wolves. Nedzu did everything to make sure they at least got to finish their education, but despite being the president of HPSC, there were only so many things he could do. Those kid's future were ruined, and I mean their future as a whole,"

The moment Midnight finishes, Shigaraki's words crash onto him like a giant wave. He unintentionally leads the kids to their deaths despite trying to protect them from the harsh reality of the hero. He never had any intention of doing that, but in the end, he did. As the reality sinks in, he unknowingly sheds tears after not doing it since the death of his friend.

"W-what have I done….?"

Class 1-B

"What the fuck is wrong with you!??!"

The entire students in Class 1-B can't help but wince as Takechi loses his cool at Monoma, especially Kaibara, Awase, and Tetsutetsu. The three of them encounter Takechi in the entrance exam as Takechi proposes to work together, pointing out that there's no rule preventing them from doing so. They worked surprisingly well during the exam and it led them to gain a lot of points as the 4 of them got themselves in the entrance exam's top ten examinees.

This leads the 4 of them to become friends and form a group of quartet, always been in each other's side as they hang out and even train together before UA's first day, knowing each other more. One of the things that they know is that Takechi is not easily angry, always known for his friendly demeanor and cheerful personality while showing no sign of hate. He tends to try and befriend everyone, including the class' hotheaded blood knight in the form of Togaru Kamakiri and the resident's asylum escapee, Neito Monoma.

So, it was a huge surprise that Takechi of all people angry at Monoma, but given what he did is unforgivable, Takechi has every right to be angry. Monoma has crossed a line that not even Kamakiri is willing to do, and he's the guy who's known to be brash and rude to people.

"Why are you so angry at me!? I was the victim here!" Monoma exclaims in surprise, making every class 1-B raise their eyebrow in disbelief. Did he really just ask that?!

"Don't play around here, Monoma! You know what you did!" Takechi snaps at the blond-haired boy. "Class 1-A has just got attacked by villains, and you had the balls to mock them because what? They got the attention of the media!? What If the media stated that one of the classmates died!?"

"I-!" Monoma was immediately cut off by Takechi.

"Zip it!" Takechi snarls. "What you did is straight-up bullying, saying how someone who almost died because of a villain didn't deserve to be in the hero course! Did you forget that this is just their third day!? None of us had learned how to deal with actual villains! And no, the battle trial doesn't count!"

"I…." Monoma was too shocked to properly reply.

"…..I suggest you reflect on your action because right now, you're acting more like a schoolyard bully than a student who wants to be a hero," Takechi states bluntly before walking away, ignoring Monoma's genuinely hurt expression. Takechi can't help but be frustrated with everything, a student almost dies and all they care about is fame, which doesn't sit well for Takechi at all.

Unknown to everyone, Takechi is another reincarnated human who once was a terminally ill kid who was on a deathbed while his parents worked themselves to the bone to provide money for his treatment. Back then, all he could do was helplessly watch his parent promise him that everything was okay and every time they went to visit, he always noticed how his parents got more scars and grew skinnier, while his condition never got better.

He was devastated every time he saw them suffer and he believed that he was nothing a burden to his parents. So, he ultimately made a decision, to let the sickness finish him off and embrace the darkness. The last thing he saw was his parents' anguish 'NO!' and all he could do was apologize in his mind.

He thought it was his last day until he opened his eyes and saw a stranger holding him with tears in her eyes. At first, he was confused before he found out that he was reborn as a baby and the 'stranger' was his new mother. Realizing that he has gotten a second chance, he chooses not to waste it.

After learning that he's in a world where heroes and villains exist, he decides to be a hero, refusing to waste the second life he has. He has no idea about the world he lives in, given that he didn't read any book or watch any show while on his deathbed so he has no idea about the future and so on, unlike the other reincarnators.

If the reincarnators knew of his status as a fellow reincarnator, they would believe that he has an ulterior motive for befriending Izuku during the introduction to the fight club. In reality, he simply wanted to make friends as he had no one but his parents in his past life. He is genuinely disgusted by Monoma's words as he can't believe that he would say such things and is unnerved by everyone's reaction to class 1-A being attacked by villains. Instead of concerned for their fellow students, they were more curious and even being antagonistic towards them, all because of the attention they got from the media.

Takechi let out a sigh and hoped that Monoma's insult didn't leave an impact on Midoriya. He didn't deserve it, especially when he almost died.

With Izuku

"Achoo!"

Izuku rubs his nose, wondering if he might catch a cold. During the meeting, Izuku got to know the rest of the students there. Just like Shinsou, the class representative of Class 1-B, Togeike and the red/white haired boy who he found out is Shugo Kyouriki, also have the desire to be a hero. They also unintentionally told Izuku about the fate of the supposed hero students who got replaced by three mysterious students, two of whom he believes are like him, a reincarnated person.

Sato, Mineta, and Komori were at the General Department, all were planning to be in the hero course but ended up falling short in the entrance exam. During the first day, Mineta got himself in trouble as he tried to peep at his classmates and ended up getting expelled from the school. Izuku is surprised by it but he is glad that UA takes the issue seriously. Mineta should've gotten into bigger trouble with his antics instead of being treated as a play-for-laugh.

As for Sato, they told how he manages to connect with everyone in the General Department, with Shinsou as the exception, as despite failing to get into the hero course, it doesn't seem to affect him too much unlike Shinsou. He ends up becoming some sort of big brother to the class, always helping others and even bringing cakes for everyone. Izuku also learns that Sato has a part-time job working in a bakery, which surprised him but it made sense in a way.

For Kinoko, Izuku finds out that she was depressed by her failure but Sato helps her by dealing with it. This made Kinoko to be better and even chose to follow Sato's route, by helping their fellow General Course students as a duo before Togeike and Kyouriki become their friends, forming a quartet. The four of them were excited when they heard about the Course Transfer and determined to get themselves into the Hero Course. They plan to invite Shinsou to make strategies for the upcoming Sports Festival, but he rudely rejects them, saying that he's the only one who will get transferred.

Izuku was disappointed that Shinsou is a dick in this universe. He was hoping that Shinsou would just be a guy who is simply acting like a jerk out of fear of being discriminated against, but from how people explain their interactions with him, he has his doubts. Or maybe none of them had ever seen Shinsou act more than just a jerk due to how others said he didn't interact much with others. He'll just have to see more about him before jumping to conclusions.

Then, he meets the Michiru-and-Shirou-look-alike, which they confirm their names are Michiru Kagemori and Shirou Ogami (The crossovers are getting wild here!), and they have quirks that the nerfed version of their abilities in BNA! They are from the General Department Course like Togeike and Kyouriki, but from class 1-D instead. Unlike class 1-C, class 1-D seems to have more students who lack the desire to be a hero except for Michiru.

The reason Michiru wasn't in Hero Course is that she was late for the entrance exam, and Shirou stated that she overslept during that day, much to her embarrassment. As for Shirou, he has no desire to be a hero but a detective, even openly admits that he doesn't like being a hero but refuses to elaborate. Izuku didn't ask out of respect, but he is still curious about what specifically made him hate heroes.

As for Gilgamesh and Kingu lookalike, he doesn't want to think about them….

For the support course, Miles, Mei, and a bald kid who looks like Gizmo from Teen Titans, in whom he found out his name is Kenzo Itokuji, were too busy discussing new support items, so everyone chose to leave them be. That is also applied to the Management Course, which were discussing about Sports Festival.

"You're okay there, Midoriya-san?" Izuku turns to see Yaomomo walking beside him.

"Y-yeah, I'm okay…" Izuku replies.

"…I'm going to be honest, I was expecting our first class representative meeting to be…more than that…" Yaomomo says, slightly unsure how to properly describe how she feels.

"I agree…" Izuku says while chuckling.

"Sorry to disappoint, but that's how us students do," Kendo exclaims as she and Shoda walk beside them.

"Given how we're at UA, I was expecting to be more disciplined and responsible when it comes to being class representative," Izuku admits. He had to use the internet to look for the 'How to be a Class Representative for Dummies' guideline because of it.

"To be honest, we were planning that it'll be a proper meeting as well," Shoda admits. "But, none of the students seem to be interested, so we just….go with the flow,"

"That explains a lot," Izuku mutters under his breath as they reach Class 1-B. Kendo and Shoda enter the class while Izuku and Yaomomo walk towards theirs. As they entered, they saw everyone seemed to be minding their own business and his friends were talking with each other before they noticed their presence. Ochako immediately gets up and hugs Izuku, surprising him.

"Please….please don't listen to what that dipshit said…" Ochako mutters as she tightens her hug. "Y-you deserve to be in here, in hero course. Y-you save me during the entrance exam, you save everyone during the USJ, y-you deserve to be a hero more than anyone…"

"T-thanks, Ochako-chan…." Izuku says before returning the hug. "Don't worry about me too much…."

"What that student did was unforgivable," Iida says while adjusting his glasses. "How could he say such a thing with a smile on his face!?"

"Some people love acting like a bully, kero," Tsuyu says. "They simply do it because they want to, they have no reason but still want to do it."

"Thank god he was in another class, we already have one bully in our class, we don't need another one," Kaminari says in relief.

"Yeah, how did UA let them be part of the hero course in the first place?" Tooru asks. "I get that the hero school looks for talents, but what's the point of a talent if that guy is a straight-up douchebag?"

Koda silently signs with his hand while Izuku merely nods at him before he notices that everyone is giving him a 'can you explain?' look.

"Koda says that 'some people simply didn't care'," Izuku says as everyone nods in agreement. Bakugou is easily one of the examples, but thankfully UA is willing to punish him given that he got detention for what he did in battle trial, and ever since then, Bakugou wisely takes a step back and avoids everyone. Now, Bakugou simply being one of the class' lone wolves.

"I hope that student got what he deserves," Tooru grumbles as everyone merely hums in agreement.

"All right, I think that's enough talking about bullies, so let's talk about something else," Izuku chose to change the topic as he noticed how sour the mood was whenever they discussed it. Thankfully, everyone seems to agree. "So, I know I may ask this a bit late, but what are your reasons for being a hero?"

"Well, I want to be a hero to protect others, to be like the chivalrous hero, Crimson Riot!" Eijirou says with a grin, pumping up his fist. Izuku need to hold himself down from geeking out about a hero, something that has been threatening to resurface since he got his memories.

"I was granted my quirk and live a wealthy life, but I don't want to take things for granted. Being a hero seems to be the best path for me," Yaomomo explains.

"I simply want to help people, kero, and maybe become a good role model for my siblings and other kids out there," Izuku was a bit surprised by Tsuyu's reason to be a hero, given her reason to be a hero isn't fully explored and fans had to interpret the reasons themselves.

"I….wanted to live up to my family's expectation," Iida hesitantly admits it, which made everyone look at him with raised eyebrows.

"Your family?" Tsuyu asks. "Is your family like a legacy hero or something?"

"Y-yes, have you guys heard of the Turbo Hero, Ingenium?" Iida asks as Izuku nods.

"A hero from Tokyo known for his speed thanks to his quirk Engine and has employed 65 sidekicks in his agency. You're related to him, right? Same quirk but different body part?" Izuku says as Iida nods.

"Yes, he is my brother who I admire for being such a well-liked hero and a great leader to his sidekicks. I strive to be a great hero and leader like him," Iida says with a smile.

"That's admirable," Izuku says with a smile.

"What about you, kero?" Tsuyu couldn't help but ask.

"Well, at first, I simply want to be a hero like All Might, helping people with a smile and reassuring people that everything is okay because I am here," Izuku says while scratching his cheek sheepishly. "But, as I grow….it's no longer my main reason. I want to help people who are never given the chance by society like me. Back then, no one is willing to help me until I meet you guys. So, I choose to extend my helping hands to those who need it, either a civilian or a villain."

'And, my other reason is to beat AFO before he could start the war….' Izuku thought to himself.

"That's…..amazing," Yaomomo admits as everyone nods in agreement. Tsuyu croaks before looking at Koda.

"What about you, kero?" Koda made some signs while smiling slightly before Tsuyu looked at Izuku.

"He wants to help people and animals," Izuku can't help but wonder if other jobs died down because Heroic has become one of the most sought-after jobs. No offense to them, but some of their reasons can be done even without becoming a hero. But, he remembers how a lot of jobs have strict quirk regulations and some rules were too restrictive, like paperwork, regulations, etc. Heroes have fewer restrictions, which is good for people who jump in to help but it could be bad as fakers exist in this world, a real double-edged sword.

"What about you, Ochako-chan? Toru-chan? Kaminari-kun?" Izuku stops his thought as he looks at the last two girls and Kaminari who haven't revealed their reason to be a hero.

"W-well, my reason is selfish compared to you guys," Ochako says while rubbing the back of her head. "I wanted for money…"

"There's nothing wrong with seeking for more comfortable life," Iida says while chopping his hand.

"Yeah, it's nothing wrong. But I can't help but be curious, why heroes?" Yaomomo asks out of curiosity.

"W-well, my parents own a construction company, but…..the business was bad, so we're having financial problems," Ochako mutters quietly.

"Construction, huh…" Tsuyu mutters.

"Well, if you manage to gain permission to use your quirk thanks to hero license, you could help them cut their cost," Izuku points out.

"Right!?" Ochako exclaims enthusiastically. "That's what I told my parents every time, but they always refused to let me help and wished that I could achieve my dream. So, I decided to be a hero so I could earn so much money that Mom and Dad get to have an easier life and even go on a vacation! They always wish to go on honeymoon in Hawaii, so I want to work hard to fulfill their wishes!"

"That is so noble! Bravo!" Iida exclaims wildly.

"Yeah, man! Helping your parents is anything but selfish!" Eijirou exclaims.

"Geez, hearing your reasons makes mine sound more selfish," Kaminari says sheepishly. "I want to be a hero so I could look cool to everyone…..people love to tease me for my quirk's drawback so I was never been a popular kid in school."

"Me too. I want to be a hero to help people, but my main reason is always so people would stop ignoring me. I get my quirk is Invisible, but getting ignored daily sucks. I did consider being a superstar or an idol, but the requirement for those was beauty, and that's not it for me…." Tooru says with a sigh.

"Well, compared to most selfish reasons I heard from my old classmates if I can even call them that, I think it's much better," Izuku says. 'Even some heroes from most fictions weren't perfect, so their reasons were much better,'

"Indeed, each of you has a reason to be a hero, and not every one of you has the same mindset, so having a different reason to be a hero is okay," Iida says. "I have heard a lot of sidekicks from my brothers having their selfish reasons, but my brother didn't mind about it because, despite their flaws, their heart is in the right place."

'Huh, to think Iida of all people didn't mind about selfish reason and with a proper reason as well…' Izuku thought, blinking in surprise. '….ah, god. I need to stop comparing them to their canon counterpart. They're more than just that…'

"I think we can all agree that despite our reason, we all have the same common goal, graduate from UA and be a hero," Yaomomo says as everyone nods in agreement. "Well, let us do our best to reach that goal."

"Yeah!" Eijirou cheers as Koda and Tooru nod in agreement. Kaminari grins before pulling out his fist.

"Oh, oh! Let us do a group fist bump!" Kaminari says excitedly as everyone looks at him, making him slightly nervous. "I….always look at a group of friends did it as a symbol of friendship, so maybe….I was hoping we could do that as well…"

"…." Izuku bumps his fist to Kaminari with a grin, surprising the boy. "Sure, why not?"

With that, everyone follows suit as they bump their fists together, creating a circle in the center. The group can't help but smile at each other, especially Izuku who can't help but be happy.

'See, Ninth? You worried too much back then,' First says.

'I….I guess maybe I did….' Izuku thought quietly.

Later

Gym Gamma

Izuku can be seen in his gym uniform while waiting for Gran and the rest of the students. Today is the official first day of the Combat Training extracurricular, which Izuku prefers to call Fight Club, and Izuku wonders why the old man is late along with the rest of the students.

"Izu, you're okay?" Izuku looks at Hackmon sitting next to him. "Are you thinking about what that idiot says about you? I think you should ignore him,"

"Don't worry too much about it, Hackmon. I was never thinking about it in the first place," Izuku reassures his partner, who sighs in relief before he notices something.

"So, why are you here in the empty field alone? Where are the others?" Hackmon asks while glancing around.

"I've been asking myself the same question," Izuku mutters. "It was supposed to be the first day of the fight club, but the teacher and the others are nowhere to be found. And to make it weird, we were in the changing room together."

Izuku stops himself before he facepalms on himself, he forgot he could use Observation to sense them and yet he's been doing nothing, simply waiting for his friends. He uses his Haki and immediately gets away from his position as a blur crash into where he is sitting, creating a cloud of dust. Hackmon stays away as Izuku closes his eyes to prevent the dust from entering his eyes, keeping his Observation on.

Immediately, he ducks from an incoming flying kick before grabbing the figure, who is revealed to be Gran Torino, by the cape. With a yell, he tosses the man away, but Gran easily regains his bearing and launches himself towards Izuku, who jumps back as Gran creates another cloud of dust. Annoyed, Izuku uses OFA: Full Cowl 15% and Haki before clapping loudly, creating a powerful shockwave to clear the cloud away and push Gran slightly.

"A new trick, eh?" Gran asks with a grin. Izuku opens his eyes before scowling at Gran.

"What's the big idea attacking me like that!? Is the morning beating you gave me isn't satisfying enough!?" Izuku exclaims incredulously.

"Yes," Gran says bluntly, making Izuku's eyes twitch. "Besides, I also need you for demonstration."

"Demonstration?" Izuku looks confused before using Observation once more and realizes that the students who join the Fight Club are watching the fight, either looking at him in awe or shock. Those were the entire Class 1-A and Class 1-B except for Bakugou, Todoroki, Harumi, Jiro, Aoyama, Monoma, Tsuburaba, Ibara, Yanagi, Tsunotori, and Bondo. From the other courses, there were Togeike, Kyouriki, Sato, Komori, Shinso, and Michiru.

"Where's the fun of that?" Izuku contains his rage and the urge to grab Gran's cape to strangle him.

"Holy shit, how did he dodge that without even looking?" Izuku can hear Awase's voice from the crowd.

"He could dodge Gran's attack without even looking at where Gran is crashing into him and even when his eyes were closed." Kendo joins in, musing. "One needs to have a very keen sense to do that,"

"All right, enough talking, zygotes!" Gran barks, making Izuku sweatdrops. "Now, what you brat had just witnessed is something I would like to call Ryou, or in this brat's case, he calls it Haki,"

As he said that, Izuku saw Hanzo widen his eyes in recognition, making Izuku slowly convinced that he was a fellow reincarnated human. No one would react in such ways when hearing Haki exists except if you know about it, and Hanzo seems to be the suspect. But, another thing is that Izuku risks his identity, and this makes Izuku nervous if the boy decides to confront him.

Gran gives a slight explanation about Ryou before he calls Eijirou and Tetsutetsu to come forward and gives a demonstration of the training, which is quite ironic to Izuku. As the two suffer in the background, Hanzo gets Izuku's attention and silently requests for a private conversation. Izuku's nervousness grows but he decides to steal his nerve and follow him, but Takechi notices them and decides to follow them silently.

As they finally are alone facing each other, both of them are silent, not utter a single word. Izuku could feel his heartbeat getting faster before he decided to break the ice.

"….I know it sounds crazy, but you got isekai'd didn't you?" Izuku says bluntly, making Hanzo widen his eyes before calming himself down.

"….I was about to ask you the same question…" Hanzo let out a sigh before looking at Izuku, who merely nodded to confirm his suspicions.

"I didn't want to jump to a conclusion, but your reaction towards Hackmon and Haki did give it away…" Izuku says before Hanzo groans.

"… You remember everything? Your past?" Hanzo asks.

"Yeah…" Izuku nods before he uses Observation and froze. This made Hanzo look at him in confusion as Izuku turned around to see Takechi walk out of his hiding place, looking at them in shock.

"You guys….were like me?" Takechi mutters in shock.

"….eh!?" The two of them say in unison, completely shocked by another revelation.

To be continued
