Trills between the sparkling twins caught Barricade's attention quickly. The black and pink highlighted little terrors bumped heads angrily, their lights akin to his police bios lit up with their mood but they merely caused each other to get dizzy once contact initiated and rub their aching helms. Oh they had their carrier's feistiness but had his head-on offenses. Not the greatest traits to combine but they were fighters definitely.

"How are they doing, Cade?" Arcee smiled softly, wrapping a servo around his arm.

The police cruiser snorted in amusement, "Just as brash as ever. I wonder who they get it from?"

The femme huffed playfully and pushed his helm to the side gently, "Oh I think they are yours. They have your lack of patience and technique."

Oh it was on. Barricade gave her a side glance and nodded with narrowed optics, "Okay, alright, I see how it is. Kids-!"

Both sparklings peered up at him with a glimmer in their optics and smiled. "-Listen to your creator now. You two are going to be the fiercest, most powerful mechs in the universe. Beat the hell out of everything that gets in your way and remember, Daddy's always going to be here for you. Don't let anybody take that confidence from you."

The sparklings clambered on to of pedes happily and gave soft coos as Barricade shot his mate a satisfied smirk, "They're my boys, Cee, what doesn't kill them will only make them stronger."

"Well you three play nice and don't get into any trouble. I'll be back before dusk," Arcee replied, rolling her optics before giving the ex-Con a kiss.

Barricade pressed his helm against hers right before she turned away to transform, leaving him with their boisterous brood. "Yeah…this is going to go well."

He watched as the twins began roughhousing with each other again and sighed. In all fairness, he loved them. For the longest time, he always wanted sparklings and a sparkmate to boot. Arcee was just perfect in every sense of the word and their offspring were even more so. He was actually amazed she had twins and they appeared more like him than he ever could anticipate. It was like he was given gifts from Primus that he was so afraid of ruining.

There was, of course, the fear of parenting that lingered. What if he wasn't a perfect parent like Arcee seemed to naturally be? What if they were drawn into war like he was at an early age? The questions made him want to hide them from the world but he knew better. He knew he couldn't keep them from the dangers that lingered out there forever.

What was funny was that he and Arcee were prime examples of that. Both of them were born under loving creators who made them believe they were safe on Cybertron, that nothing in the world could hurt them. They were both wrong. The difference was he was taken from his family by slave traffickers and couldn't find them once he escaped, living in the harsh underbelly of Cybertron's poor city wastelands where he became hardened and merciless to survive. Arcee lost her family due to an uncalculated Decepticon attack on Iacon City that destroyed them along with a hundred others and she vowed revenge.

That's what made them so attracted to each other: the war on their lives. She admired him as he did her. There was mutual trust when both sides of the war had to fight together against a common enemy and near the end, he grew tired of the destruction and retired to be with her. He wasn't entirely an Autobot per say but he was credited as one, a traitor among the remaining Decepticons. But it was worth it. His babies were proof of that.

One of the twins decided to crawl up and sit on his pede before staring up at him, waiting for something. Barricade could only look down at the purple optics digging deep and questioning his power as a parent.

"What? What do you want?"

The sparkling merely grunted almost defiantly but still held eye contact. Barricade, however, looked at the other twin who paid little to no attention to him. Glancing between the two, he finally gave up after the one on his pede made another noise in waiting and stared off beyond them with a smile.

"Yeah, me too. I don't even know what I want when I have everything I need," he chuckled.

The sparkling tore his gaze away from the Saleen with Barricade swore was a hint of satisfaction in his answer and simply rejoined his twin to play some more.

AN: This is the last request I am going to do for a while because it seems doing requests becomes rather boring after some time and attempting to finish them in a time frame leaves no motivation to write other things so I'm stopping to catch up with things I wish to do without pressure. It'll be a nice break for me and I have other pairings of my own I wish to add to this as well. Don't know when I'll open the request forum again but in the meantime, look out for my other works and I'll see you soon!
