"Come out, come out, human, wherever you are," the dark baritone rang out.
Cade gripped his talisman sword as he peered around the corner. A brief flicker of shadow made him jerk back behind the pillar he was hiding among. He would be lying if he tried to convince himself he wasn't scared of Nemesis.
"Ca-ade, come out to pla-ay," Nemesis sneered.
He took it back. Hearing the bot that once was Optimus laugh and taunt him was beyond scary. Whatever Quintessa did to him, it turned the once regal Prime into a psychopath. And now Nemesis was hunting him. The question now was why was Nemesis so determined to get him, a mere human? Then it clicked in the back of his mind.
If Nemesis had all of Optimus' memories but was twisting them into acting on the darkest desires of each one, then Nemesis may have been after him because Optimus cares about him. Nemesis is trying to get rid of the one emotional baggage Nemesis had no need of anymore.
"I know you're here, Cade."
The human saw Nemesis' servo hold the upper portion of the pillar but the mech seemed to be looking elsewhere, only using the pillar for support. Cade figured since the servo was grasping toward the right of him which meant Nemesis was scouting in that direction, he would go left. Slowly, he backed away from the pillar and headed towards a small entrance he knew Prime wouldn't be able to fit in allowing him to escape.
He got halfway when he looked to see the servo was gone from the pillar and Prime was nowhere in sight. That was either really good or really bad.
"Hello, Cade," a voice above him said.
Cade barely had enough time to move out of the way when Nemesis jumped down from the ceiling and landed beside him. He tried to sprint towards the exit when a servo caught him, making him drop his sword. Ignoring the deep rumbling laughter of the Prime, he cursed and tried to pull out of the mech's hold.
"Let me go, Optimus!"
"Optimus?" Nemesis smirked, "Oh no, he's not here anymore. Now you're stuck with me, Nemesis Prime."
Cade scowled, "Yeah, and I'm Mark Walberg. This isn't you, Prime! You need to snap out of this!"
"Poor Cade, you try your hardest but it's never enough. That's what I like about you. You never give up. You will be a grand specimen from Earth to keep after I tear this world apart and Unicron with it."
That made Cade pause. "Trophy? What are you, Lockdown's long-lost cousin? What do you mean by that?"
Nemesis purred, "Everything. Don't you know how much I wanted to have you? Since the day we met on your farm. I wanted you to be mine, and now you will be. There's no one you have except for me, Cade. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. You're stuck with me forever."
Is that how Optimus really felt, after all they went through? Granted, Cade could assume his so-called affectionate confession would have been far nicer and less stalkerish had Optimus been truly himself but no, Nemesis spoke his mind and true feelings off the bat. For once, Cade didn't want anything to do with Optimus...no, Nemesis.
"You stay the hell away from me, Prime. Look but don't touch," Cade warned, pointing a finger at the mech.
"We shall see," the Prime said amused.
As Nemesis took him far, he could only ponder the madness he had gotten himself into. This wasn't the Optimus he knew. Optimus would have asked to do anything unless there was immediate danger. Optimus would have made sure he consented to any type of relationship or plan regarding him. This wasn't Optimus Prime anymore.
Whatever Nemesis Prime thought he was, Cade knew better and resented him. He was going to get away and he was damn well going to fix Optimus before even considering any of Prime's real emotions. This was one of the worst ways he could have ever imagined in learning Optimus liked him and with Nemesis in control, the darkest mind between them, there was no telling just what lengths Nemesis would cross that Optimus wouldn't.
"I sense your hostility. Don't worry, I will make our time together quite...pleasurable."
Cade only glared at him but said nothing.
AN: It was a little hard to determine whether the Nemesis persona could be considered a separate character but considering it held out of character moments for Optimus, I'll be lenient and say it is.
