"So, Boss Bot, where are you taking me?"
Bee excitedly activated the ground bridge and gestured to it. "You're going to love it! I promise!"
"Pretty broad statement," she smirked.
"You do trust me though? Would I send you there if it wasn't anything less than perfect?"
Windblade laughed and followed him in, the portal's energy curling as she traversed its tunnel until a flash of light and a change of scenery suddenly was before her. At first, she merely smiled but as she studied the sight, her jaw almost fell to the floor.
The mountains looked like jagged spines of a monster breaking through the Earth's crust. A reflective lake echoing the sun slowly disappearing over the horizon as waterfalls and foliage moved with a warm breeze. What amazed her most above all was the vast colors. Cybertron had its natural bio lights, mostly vivid blues and neon hues but this type of green and the red-orange of such a young sun dimming for the nigh were extremely uncommon and certainly she never expected them to be beautiful together. She didn't see Bumblebee staring at her, proud that he could make her smile. She was far too focused on the colors dancing, some fading while others seemed to only grow brighter.
"So, what do you think?" Bee asked hesitantly, hoping to not spoil the moment.
Windblade's optics were as wide as her smile. "It's-it's amazing! I didn't know Earth could change colors like this! The sun and the environment...stunning!"
"Yeah, I got that reaction from my team once when we visited an old ghost town. The town was vague in their eyes but the sunset just made their day. But here, this is where I found the sunset to be the most extraordinary."
The Seeker put a servo over her chest in glee before asking, "How did you ever find this place?"
Bumblebee coughed slightly and rubbed the back of his neck, "W-well, when Optimus and our team were here fighting against Megatron, I...uh...I got into an argument with him. Took a ground bridge out to a random location and I arrived right before the sun was setting over those same mountains. I watched the lake turn to gold and my anger, my worries even, they just melted away. I never shared this place with anyone, not even Optimus."
"What made that sunset so special?"
"I'm not sure but the horizon, it was glowing like a beacon in the darkness. I just felt like there was hope even through the days dragging on and the Cons outnumbering us. Something made me feel safe among its light. I don't know what I would have done had I not come here that day."
"And now?"
"Now?" He parroted as Windblade looked at him. "Now, this sunset is just as beautiful as you. What makes it special this time is you being here with me, Windblade. A sun shines bright but you shine brighter in my spark. I can't tell you in words how dear you are to me...so I figured I would show you-"
He was surprised when she hugged him sweetly and he felt himself quivering.
Windblade smirked, "So, I'm like a sun, huh? That's a first for a comparison. But I love it."
Bumblebee's engines purred before he returned the embrace. "A special someone deserves a special compliment."
She then held his chin lovingly, "Well, commander, don't you have a way with words? If I may ask, do you have anything else you wish to show me, lover bot?"
"Does the horizon of my spark setting in my chest count?"
"Maybe," Windblade purred as she leaned close.
Bee didn't hesitate to kiss her as the sun disappeared past the mountains, the last few rays of light shining around their entangled silhouettes.
AN: Just a little lake view never hurt romance.
