Chapter 3: The Real Training Starts Here

[Location–Dagobah Beach]

[Time–6:02am]

One month had passed, and only half of the beach had been cleaned. Bardock looked around and was very disappointed, but he expected the kid's limits, as he hadn't even planned on having the kid clean the beach in a month. Bardock then felt Izuku's energy coming towards him, so he turned to meet Izuku's gaze, who ran up to him, greeting him with a smile and a wave.

"Good morning, Mr. Bardock. How are you today?" Izuku asked, bowing down to his master.

"I'm perfectly fine, kid. And stop with the bowing, I keep telling you that you don't need to do that around me." Bardock said, letting Izuku straighten his back up.

A cold silence washed over the two of them, until the morning breeze could be heard, and Izuku finally broke the tension.

"I-I'm… I'm sorry," Izuku apologised, making Bardock raise his brow.

"Sorry? For what, kid?" Bardock asked, genuinely curious as to why Izuku felt like he needed to apologise to him.

"For not cleaning the beach on time," Izuku said, twiddling his index fingers and rubbing his foot side to side in the sand.

Bardock rubbed his temple, now understanding why Izuku had apologized. He told him he didn't need to apologize for that, telling the kid he wasn't mad. Izuku's eyes widened a little, as he looked up to Bardock. Bardock knelt down to Izuku's level; a gesture he did when he wanted to seriously talk to the kid. He told the kid that while he hadn't cleaned the beach in a month, failing to do so doesn't mean he should stop trying. Bardock then placed his hand onto Izuku's shoulder.

"Now, why don't we get back to your training, shall we?" Bardock asked, and Izuku nodded, wiping the small tears that had formed in his eyes.

"H...Hai! I won't let you down, Mr. Bardock," Izuku said, rolling up his sleeves to begin his training, but Bardock placed his hand on Izuku's shoulder to stop him in place.

"Woah there kid, there's something I want to give you before we continue your training." Bardock said, which Izuku finally noticed the suitcase Bardock was holding in his left hand.

"What's that?" Izuku asked as Bardock placed down the suitcase and opened it.

"This is what you will be wearing from now on," Bardock said, revealing the contents of the suitcase.

Izuku's eyes widened at what he saw; a set of armor that resembled Bardock's, complete with matching gloves and boots, only without the spandex and modified to fit someone smaller.

"Um, Mr. Bardock," Izuku asked, grabbing the main armor piece, "Why am I wearing this?" He didn't expect the extra weight the armor had, so he almost collapse trying to lift it.

"Whoa! It's heavier than I thought," Izuku said, holding the armor in his arms.

"Usually this type of armor is made to be as light, as flexible, and as elastic as it can be. But I have some help from a few connections to help make your own model to be used as weighted armor," Bardock explained, as he stretched his own armor to show off its elasticity.

Izuku slowly put the armor on, as he felt his body immediately strain from the armor's weight, including the gloves and boots on his hands and feet.

"How heavy is this anyway?" Izuku asked, as he took a few steps, trying to get used to the armor's weight.

"Well, it isn't much, only about 50 kilos," Bardock said, as Izuku's eyes widened at how heavy the armor was.

"50 kilos? Is that for the entire set or just the chestplate?" Izuku asked, surprised by how heavy this armor was.

"The whole thing," Bardock explained, "and it'll get heavier the further into your training." Izuku just nodded.

"Alright, get to it kid! You've still got a long way to go!" Bardock ordered, and Izuku accepted the order, getting back to his training.

Bardock continued to watch Izuku clean the beach, feeling a small amount of pride for the kid. However, that was halted when his head split open with immense pain, and another vision hit him; it had been ages since his last one.

When he opened his eyes, he wasn't expecting to se his own son, many years younger than Izuku, wearing clothes unfamiliar to him, but looked comfortable for Kakarot. However, what surprised him was that he was praying to an orange ball with four red stars. Another wave of pain hit him when his vision changed into another; which was new for Bardock, showing Kakarot pointing a red pole at a young Earth girl, who was holding her hands up in defense, wearing a very short dress with her blue hair tied into a bun. However, Bardock couldn't savour this vision as another vision took place of the previous one, accompanied by the same wave of pain. This one showed his son in the midst of a fight, against a human with a third eye and somehow four arms. Yet again, another vision hit him, this time showing Kakarot charging towards a Namekian. He could see Kakarot was very injured, but so was the Namekian. Before Kakarot could drive his punch through the Namekian's stomach, Izuku's voice brought him back to reality.

Izuku called out to Bardock, "Mr. Bardock! Mr. Bardock! Are you okay?! Can you hear me?!" When Izuku looked over at Bardock, he saw him lying flat on the ground, grasping his head in pain from what appeared to be a severe headache. Dropping all of the trash he had been carrying, Izuku immediately rushed over to Bardock's side.

Izuku tried repeatedly to get Bardock's attention, believing he was having a seizure, but his heart skipped a beat and held his breath when Bardock grabbed onto one of his arms, causing Izuku to look down at him. Bardock had stopped shaking, heavily breathing as he looked up to Izuku.

"I'm fine, kid. You don't need to worry," Bardock said, as he stood up on his feet, almost falling down again.

"Whoa, whoa, hold on! You need to rest. Let me call an ambulance for you...," Izuku tried to ease Bardock, grabbing his phone from his pocket, but was stopped by Bardock's hand.

"Kid, I'm alright. I'm used to it. Just focus on your training. I'll be fine," Bardock said, trying to calm Izuku down.

"Are you sure? I don't think taking a day off to take care of you would affect my training at all," Izuku started to say, about to mumble, but Bardock quickly cut him off.

"Kid, I said I was alright. I'll just sit down for now. Go and train. It's an order," Bardock said, giving his usual stern look to Izuku.

Izuku still had a worried look, but he trusted Bardock to not push himself. Giving his master a nod, he told him to not push himself too much. Bardock assured him he would be fine, and with that, Izuku returned to his training.

Bardock thought back to those visions, wondering if he would ever meet his son again. As he believed he had sent his son to this planet, he brushed those thoughts aside, knowing he had other things to prioritize over his son. Bardock knew that his son's life would be one he could be proud of.

[One Month Passes]

[Time–5:54]

Bardock was headed towards the beach to greet Izuku for another day of cleaning the beach. He knew Izuku only had a little bit of the beach left to clean, and he felt very proud of the kid for his hard work. However, Bardock would be surprised when he arrived to his destination.

When Bardock arrived at the beach, his eyes widened in shock as he focused his attention on the lack of trash on the beach. The entire beach was completely void of any trash, stretching from one coast to the other. In Bardock's mind, he believed the city saw the action of Izuku and finally took action and cleaned the place up, as Izuku couldn't have cleaned the remaining bits of trash overnight. However, a loud scream caught his attention.

Bardock looked in the direction of the sound and saw a large pile of trash sitting on the pier that overlooked the beach, towering higher than any of the surrounding houses. As his gaze reached the peak of the garbage heap, he spotted a familiar green-haired boy, wearing only his blue training pants, screaming at the top of his lungs with his fists clenched beside him.

Bardock couldn't help but smile at how proud he felt of Izuku. There was definitely something special about this kid, but couldn't put his finger on it.

Bardock then saw Izuku's body tilt as he watched Izuku fall off the hill, about to hit the ground hard. He quickly sprinted into action, seemingly teleporting beneath Izuku to catch him in his arms. Izuku opened his eyes to see his master giving him a proud smile.

"Well done, kid," Bardock said, slowly floating the both of them back down to the ground.

"Thank you, Mr. B… Bardock," Izuku replied, smiling back, though he could barely feel his muscles.

When Bardock put Izuku down safely, Izuku asked if he had done well, which Bardock just let out a happy scoff.

"Did you do well, kid? You managed to clean up about ten percent of the beach in just one night. Whatever happened to make you work so quickly, it shows how determined you are to fight for what you believe in." Bardock said, lightly punching Izuku on the shoulder.

"Thanks, Mr. Bardock. So what does that mean for my training? Do we move onto the next phase of my training?" Izuku asked, Bardock seeing the light of hope in the kid's eyes.

"Of course kid! We still have about eight months left of training and you still have a lot to learn until you become a powerful warrior like me." Bardock said, as he stood up onto his feet.

Bardock stretched his hand out to help Izuku up. Izuku smiled, grabbing his sensei's hand. When they locked hands, however, Izuku suddenly felt a surge of energy flow through him, as his injuries were healed and his stamina was replenished. Looking over himself in amazement, Izuku asked Bardock what just happened.

"It's a little trick I recently learned that allows me to use my energy to heal and replenish the stamina of anyone I give my energy to." Bardock said, seeing Izuku's passion for learning flare up at the new trick he had shown him.

"Really?! That's amazing! Whatever your quirk is, it has so much utility; it's amazing! You can fly, enhance your physical strength, create energy-based attacks, and now you can use it to heal anyone you want? Tell me! What is your quirk? I need to know!" Izuku asked, getting a little too close for comfort for Bardock, as Izuku held his pen and notebook in his hand.

("Oh come on! He doesn't even have a bag to pull it from! Where the hell does he get those from?!") Bardock thought, still terrified by Izuku's reality-bending notebook.

"Kid! Personal space, please!" Bardock said, as Izuku stepped back in embarrassment.

"Well, you see kid. It may be hard to believe, but the powers and techniques I have are not from of a quirk, because I'm just like you. I am in every sense of the word, quirkless." Bardock explained, seeing Izuku's eyes widen with shock.

"Wait, what?! You don't have a quirk?! Then how are you able to do all the things you do?! I've never heard of such a thing! How?!" Izuku asked many questions to Bardock, but Bardock quickly shut him up before he could continue to rant.

"Listen kid, the next step in your training will be teaching you to learn and understand these abilities, so you will get the answers to your questions, but you need to be patient," Bardock explained. Izuku nodded, apologizing to Bardock for his rude behavior, but a booming voice cut him off.

"Hahaha! You don't need to apologize, young Midoriya! What you did wasn't rude in any way! Just make sure you get a handle on it though, because others might think it's rude and we don't want them putting you down, do we?" All-Might said, calming the boy down.

"O...oh, All-Might! Good morning." Izuku bowed down, but All-Might said Izuku didn't need to.

"Good morning to you too, young Midoriya," said All-Might, bowing to greet both Izuku and Bardock. He wore his signature yellow striped tuxedo that strained against the seams of his bulky form.

All-Might looked out over the beach with a glare and looked towards the mountain of trash nearby. All-Might couldn't believe himself, seeing that Izuku had been able to clean the entire beach in just under two months.

"Young Midoriya! I must say, I am impressed! What you just did was something even I wouldn't be able to do with my current fitness!" All-Might bellowed, seeping a small lie into his words to encourage his young successor.

"R... really? I... I... I did?!" Izuku asked, not expecting those words from his idol.

All-Might nodded, but his attention was drawn onto something else. His eyes focused on Izuku's body, seeing the small patches of dirt and sand over his body, yet he wasn't huffing and puffing or did he have any small wounds on his body.

"May I ask you a question, Midoriya?" All-Might asked, which Izuku noded.

"If I am correct, you stayed up all night cleaning the reamaining mounds of trash, yet you seems to be unharmed and full of energy. Why is that?" All-Might question the boy, to which Bardock stepped in to answer for him.

"That was me. I used my energy to restore his stamina and heal any minor wounds on his body. Saves the trouble by bringing him all the way to UA. Plus, I'd rather not see that old hag again after the last time." Bardock sneered at the mention of Recovery Girl, remember their, not so fond introduction to each other.

All-Might laughed like he won an effortless battle, saying the, "Old hag", can be quite a pain, but tells Bardock she always cares for her patients, "Which also includes you, so don't take away that fact." All-Might said pointing at Bardock with his finger.

"I'm guessing this healing ability is linked to your special powers?" All-Might asked, bringing the subject back on track.

"Yes, and I'm only scratching the surface of the potential of one's energy can do. If I knew how powerful and diverse my energy could be, maybe I would've been stronge enough." Bardock said, memories of the death of his comrades and his own presumed death flash into his head.

"With how strong you are now, and just getting the hang on your own powers, I wonder how powerful young Midoriya could become with the addition of my quirk." All-Might said, which Bardock could agree upon.

With that coversation at a close, All-Might brought up the main reason for him to be here, as he gestured to Midoriya to stand up straight. Izuku stood up from the ground he was resting on and looked up to All-Might, as the man's own shadow loomed over the small boy.

"Young Midoriya, I believe it is time for you to finally inherit my power. When you do, you will be taking up the mantle of wielding One for All." All-Might said, which Izuku nodded, almost hesitantly.

With his confirmation, All-Might's large smile grew somehow grew wider, as he moved his right hand to the golden locks on his head, and pluck a single strand of hair and presented it to Izuku.

"Now, eat this!" All-Might proposed, as Izuku stood there, his expression clasping on the cuffs of shock and horror, as a small, "Wha..." could be heard from the boy's shaky mouth.

All-Might saw the horrified face of the teen and realised what he forgotten to tell the both of them, as he looked towards Bardock where he had his own face of shock, but more of the kind someone would used to indicate if someone was insane or not.

"Oh, uh well, you see. For one to inherit my power, one must eat some of my own DNA, and allow their body to digest it." All-Might explained, which Bardock's face changed to an expression of understanding, but was mentally questioning if this world was weirder than his.

All-Might handed Izuku his strand of hair, as the green hair teen looked at it for a moment. If he wasn't forced to eat the hair, he would've took this strand of hair home and hung it in a picture frame on a wall in his room, but then again, that would be even more creepier than him actually eating it. Or was it?

Izuku shrugged and slurped the hair into his mouth and down his gullet like a strand of spaghetti. Izuku wasn't as disgusted by it, as he could barely feel the hair and the hair was very oily, so it slid down his throat smoothly, along with the lack of taste it had.

Bardock's curiosity was getting the better of him, his thought nagging at him of what All-Might was given to gain his powers. So the relieve the pressure, he asked All-Might the strangest question he may ever ask, and maybe the strangest question All-Might would be asked.

"Hey, what was you given to eat to gain your quirk?" Bardock asked, seeing All-Might sweat drop at the question, Bardock already regretting asking the question.

"Well it was certainly better than what I gave young Midoriya." All-Might said, not wanting to answer Bardock's question, but Bardock pushed him further, not thinking it could be that bad

"Fine. My master, Nana Shimura, forced fed me her own toe nails until my quirk manafested. That was the worse 3 hours of my life." All-Might said, shivering from the memory of his master holding him in place, locking her legs around his head, clipping her nails and shoving them down his throat until his quirk manifested.

Bardock couldn't help but gag at the image of being forced fed someone else's toe nails. For someone who ravaged entire civilizations, killing many in various ways, like decapitation, scooping and pjysically ripping them in two with his vare hands, he is surprised he still has a gag reflex.

All-Might coughed, bringing their conversation to a different subject. He turned back towards Izuku and went on to explain that his body is still very weak, and even using 5 percent of One for All could be dangerous enough to explode his body into pieces. Izuku protested, asking why All-Might would give him his quirk if his body wasn't ready for it, but Bardock piped up,

"Kid, if you would have listened to his words, he said your body would explode if you used more than 5 percent. Just use less power and you'll be fine." Bardock said, calming Izuku's nerves a little.

"Plus, after you obtain the ability of energy control, your body would be even more durable enough to handle his quirk many times over." Bardock said, surprising Izuku, but not as much as he should have as he thought things through with how strong Mr. Bardock is.

"Right, now that I have all of my affaires taken care of here, I'll be taking my leave. Young Midoriya, do not forget what it means to be a hero. A hero is one who saves those with a smile and has great determination to push through any obstacle, now matter the risk!" All-Might said, with Izuku nodding to All-Might.

"And you Bardock, I want you to push Midoriya to his limits, with your tutelage, he may become even more powerful than even you." All-Might said, which Bardock scoffed with a smile.

"I don't think so, but we'll see what your quirk does to the kid." Bardock said.

All-Might bellowed a laugh, waving the both of them goodbye, as he dug his large foot into the cement ground and lept high into the air, leaving both Izuku and Bardock to themselves.

Bardock looked over to the kid, saying that they still have plenty of time before Izuku has school, so they should get started with the second phase of Izuku's training. Izuku asks what this part of his training will entail, and Bardock explains that he will be teaching the lid to unlock the power inside of him, a power so great, it will help him become one of the most powerful beings on the planet. Izuku misinterpret this line, thinking Bardock was referring to One for All, but Bardock shook his head.

"Of course not, that power won't be manifesting for another couple of hours. What I'm going to teach you, is this." He said, bringing his hand close to Izuku's face, creating a ball of energy that floated just barely above the palm of his hand.

[A Couple Hours Later]

Izuku and Bardock was on the beach, the sun passing the horizon hours ago and Izuku was holding his hands out, trying to replicate what Bardock did hours earlier.

"C'mon kid! This is supposed to be easy part! How can you become a hero if you can't do this easy step first?!" Bardock roared, trying to push Izuku to create his own ball of energy.

Izuku let down his arms, telling Bardock he can't do it, saying it is impossible for him as he is quirkless. Bardock scoffed, telling Izuku giving up is not an option. Giving him an analogy, he asked Izuku what he would do if he was facing a villain that would kill him without hesitation. Izuku said he would try to run and get help from a pro hero, but Bardock stomped that thought process out.

"NO!!! You would fight the villain no matter what! I'm training you to become a warrior, and a warrior fights with everything they have, no matter how much the odds are stacked against them! If you die, you should be proud that you went down fighting!" Izuku stared at Bardock, not sure about his words with how aggressive he was prejecting them to him. Bardock saw this and sighed, pushing down his anger so he can speak properly with Izuku.

"A warrior is no different from a hero!" Izuku ears perked up, "There are certainly differences between the two, but when it comes to fighting an opponent, both a warrior and a hero would fight with everything that got, till their last breath!" Bardock proclaimed, with Izuku now fully understanding Bardock's words.

"Now, I'll ask. Is giving up an option?" He asked, with Izuku proclaiming he will never give up. "And how will you become a hero?!" Bardock asked another question, which Izuku loudly proclaiming he will give it his all and never give up. "And does a hero give up in the face of battle?!" Bardock asked his last question, which Izuku loudly roared,

"A hero never gives up! I will give everything I have to become a hero and to use everything I have as a hero to protect those who need me!" Izuku raored from the bottom of his lungs, which Bardock smiled with pride, as he commanded Izuku to continue pulling his energy out untill the time for today runs out.

Izuku nodded, as he moved his hands infront of him, concentrating onto the center of his body like Bardock told him. With the fiery determination to become a hero, he was able to feel the energy that resonated in his stomach. His eyes widen at the feeling. Izuku tried to pull the energy out of his body like Bardock told him but he was only able to create small sparks in his hands, but Izuku was happy none the less.

Izuku yelled in excitment, telling Bardock he did it, or at least he almost did it. Bardock watched Izuku jumped around, proud of himself. Bardock couldn't help but draw a small grin for Izuku, proud with how quick the kid is able to learn and adapt. But something else was nagging at him. When Izuku was finding his energy and trying to bring it to his palms, he was able to sense it more easier than before, but unlike other times he sensed his energy, this time it was much different. He was still new to sensing energy, but he could tell something was off with Izuku's energy when he was releasing it.

His thought process was cut off when he heard the familiar mumbling and scribbling of Izuku and his notebook. Bardock wasn't as put off this time, actually allowing Izuku to write as much information into his notebook as he can.

Izuku finished writing in his note book when he noticed the time checking his phone. He put away his note book and pen into his bag and thanks Bardock for today's lesson. Bardock said he doesn't need to thank him, saying this is only the start and over the next 8 months, Izuku will become the second strongest being on the planet. Izuku nodded, as he flung his bag over his back and waved Bardock goodbye. Bardock had his arms crossed, watching Izuku dissapeare over the peer.

He turned around, scanning the clear beach as his mind went back to Izuku's abnormal energy. He then remember One for All, guessing that may have a reason for Izuku's abnormal energy. He didn't know for sure, but he'll have to look into it later. For now, it is time for him to continue his own training.

[End Of Chapter]

Author's Note: Sorry for not uploading recently, I haven't been motivated to write that much, but with the end of my first college year approaching ever so closer, I can happily put more effort into this story and many more I have been writing up. I was planning to reboot this story, try and fix some inconsistencies and add some better story parts like stopping Izuku from getting One for All, but I decided against that and continue with what I have. Hope you have an amazing day. See you all in the next update.

Side note: I'll make Bardock a little more agressive cause I feel like I made him a little too soft, so from chapter 4 and onwards, I'll try and rectify that. See you guys in the next chapter.
