Chapter 5: Dodgeball Shenanigans
[Location: Aldera School]
[Time: 12:58am]
The cafeteria of the school was lively and packed as usual; students casually eating their lunches, spending their time to chat with friends or finish up any missed or given homework. But one student among the crowd stood out, staying alone but content, silencing the world around him, ignoring all the insults and stares he received to focus on his notebooks and homework.
His lunch was different from most, but similar to a few in the school, a meal designed to help him build up some muscle. Even though his physical work had ended, Bardock made it known that he could still improve his body with the various warm-up routines and sparring matches. His body wouldn't develop muscle as quickly, but it would still develop the muscle necessary to keep up with his body's physical demands.
As he was flipping through his notes, reading the information he had jotted down during the five-minute breaks he had between the sparring matches he had with Bardock, an explosive slam echoed through the cafeteria, a slight shock rolling through the table. However, Izuku noticed he didn't react as much as he used to. One of the benefits he gained from Bardock's training he guessed.
Izuku looked up to see Bakugou staring down at him, with his two lackeys behind him, giving their own smirks to seem tough, but Izuku saw their attempts as silly at best and idiotic at worst.
"What do you want, Kacchan? Don't you have something else better to do than bully me?" Izuku asked, as he watched Bakugou's left eye twitch, as they both moved towards his bento box.
Bakugou studied the contents inside, immediately recognizing what the food inside was, or more specifically, what these foods were used for.
"Oi, Deku. Why the hell are you still trying to become a hero. Putting on muscle won't do you any good. No matter how hard you try, without a quirk, you are useless!" Bakugou said, snatching the bento away from Izuku, holding it high in the air.
"H...hey, Kacchan, give that back! I haven't finished it! That isn't yours!" Izuku jumped from his seat, trying to grab his bento box back, but Bakugou slammed his palm into Izuku's chest, knocking him to the ground.
Bakugou smiled, his grin reaching ear to ear, as he tossed the bento onto the ground, as he started to stomp on the food, leaving nothing left to eat. Izuku just watched, but he didn't feel sadness or glum, but a presence of anger filled his mind, but he was able to calm himself down because he remembered his class had P.E after lunch.
"You got lucky Deku, I will make sure to put you in your place during physical ed. See you later nerd!" Bakugou said, walking away with his lackies, who threw sly remarks towards Izuku, but he didn't pay attention to them.
His eyes was stuck looking at his food, remembering watching his mother and him making it together, as he thought to himself,
("I don't care what happens now, I will show Kacchan I can become a hero.") But then his mind went to his pure side, telling himself he wouldn't be proving anything, only that he is as bad as them.
Without wasting anymore time; lunch time reaches its last few minutes, Izuku scrapped all the food off the floor and picked the bento box and threw everything, even the bento box, into the bin, as he put all his things away, subtly noticing a few of his pencils missing. Nothing new, but annoyed that he had to asked his mother for more pensil again.
[Location: Aldera Gymnasium]
[Time: 1:12pm]
Izuku was alone in one of the disabled toilets in the changing rooms; one of the very few luxuries he had being quirkless, as when the quirkless started to become the minority, they were labled as disabled, either to help them live through this new world or to slyly insult them, Izuku wouldn't complain, as the solidarity gave him the relief from showing his musceled toned body to his classmates, which would have definitely put more targets on his back.
When he finished changing, he stepped out and headed outside to the gymnasium, where the rest of the class were waiting with their Coach; one of the very few people in Izuku's life who didn't put him down because he was quirkless. The Coach blew his whistle, gaining all the student's attention in the gym.
"Alright kids, listen up! Today we have various sports you will play depending on which one you choose!" He said as he turned to the whiteboard behind him, the list of sports already written down.
"Now! You will come up here, one by one, and choose what sport you want to play! The sport with the highest votes will be today's sport!" He shouted, as he began to bring students up to mark down their vote.
When it came to Izuku's turn to vote, he looked towards Coach, seeing his face which signaled, 'you don't have to participate if you don't want to.' Izuku looked backed at the board and looked at the various sports, holding the marker in his hand. Izuku then eyed his attention on one sport, which had the most votes, understandable because it was the most popular sport.
Izuku raised the pen and dragged the ink across the whiteboard, all the students watching the Coach's face morph into shock. Izuku turned to the Coach, smiling,
"I choose dodgeball sir!" When Izuku spoke, the entire gymnasium erupted into shock and yelling, everyone surprised and even horrified that Izuku of all people would choose a sport like dodgeball.
"Midoriya! Are you sure with this pick? You don't have to be pressured to pick a sport you don't want to." The Coach said, not believing Izuku would choose dodgeball of all sports.
"It's alright. I chose dodgeball because I want to play it. This is for fun right, nothing more?" Izuku kept his bright smile, which worried the Coach even more.
"Alright then, if you say so." The Coach said, as he told all the students to start setting up dodgeball.
After 5 minutes of setting up, the Coach then brought everyone's attention and called for anyone who wanted to be a team leader, as he had some extra rules he wanted to implement for today. As expected, hands flew up, but yet again, everyone was surprised when Izuku raise his own hand, giving the same excuse he gave Coach no more than 5 minutes ago.
"Well then, I pick Midoriya Izuku to be the team captain for team A, and Bakugou Katsuki to be the team captain for team B." Izuku felt the glare coming from Bakugou, but he steeled his nerves and walked up to the Coach with Bakugou, as they both started to choose their teams.
When both teams finally filled up, the Coach blew his whistle once more, as all the students looked towards him.
"Okay class, now that both teams are fully picked, I will tell the extra rules I have to add to todays game." He said gesturing to the whiteboard once more.
"The usual rules of dodgeball still apply, hitting an opponant eliminates them out of the game, catching a ball both eliminates the opponant who threw the ball and allows you to bring in an eliminated teammate and if you hit an opponant in the head, you get eliminated." The Coach explained the basic rules of dodgeball and then moved to the new ones.
"The new rules are based around the team captains. First rule, if the team captain is eliminated, the entire team is out." When he says this, he could hear the manic groans from Izuku's team.
"Second rule, if the team captain catches any ball thrown his way, every eliminated teammate is allowed to re-enter into the game." The Coach explained, watching his students absorb the information.
"Last rule, any command the team captain gives you, you must comply, if the command is feasable, like 'Toss me that ball', 'Block the next attack sent my way' or 'Target that person'." Coach and Izuku could feel every single student glare right at Izuku, especially Bakugou's, which was as hot as it was terrifying.
[A Few Minutes Later]
Once everyone got into positions and the ball were set up to start the game and Izuku was alright thinking of various tactics and senarios of how the game will go and how he can retaliate.
The Coachblew his whistle and everyone scrambled to the center of the field, eagar to pick up a ball. Izuku however stayed back, because he knew his team would not stand a chance because Bakugou specifically chose fast and strong students for his team, so when the team met at the centre, four of the five balls used for the game was held by Bakugou's team while only one was held by Izuku's.
Once Izuku realised what just happened, half of his team has been eliminated, as the one ball his team had, was caught by the enemy team, eliminating them from the game. But Izuku realised something, the person who caught the ball was...
"Get ready Deku! Because this will be the most explosive game you'll ever participate in!" Bakugou yelled, as the ball in his hand began to heat up slightly as he readied himself for a toss.
The Coach realised what Bakugou was implying and was about to stop Bakugou from using his quirk, but he couldn't react with his whistle in time when a loud 'BOOM', echoed through the gymnasium. The ball Bakugou was holding, shooting through the field like a bullet.
("Oh crap, oh crap, oh crap!") Izuku was about to panic, his body tensing at the sound of the ball being blasted out of Bakugou's palms.
But what he saw stunned him. The ball wasn't flying fast like a bullet, because Izuku could perceive the ball's speed, almost like his senses were cranked up to eleven.
("Wait, why is the ball flying so slowly? Did Kacchan bluff me or something? No, he wouldn't do that.") Izuku thought in his head, as he stepped to the side to allow the ball to pass by him, missing him as the ball smashed into a nearby wall.
When the ball hit the wall, it left a sizable indent and plentiful amount of cracks. Somehow the ball didn't explode, but there was something else on everyone's mind.
("HOW THE HELL DID IZUKU/MIDORIYA/DEKU DODGE THAT?!!!") Was the collective thought of everyone.
Coach was stunned beyond belief. That ball had to be traveling almost to the same speed of an actual bullet, but Midoriya just side stepped the attack like it was nothing. Coach could even see the confusion on Midoriya's face.
("Is this his quirk or something? Had he always had a quirk?") The Coach thought, because no normal human who doesn't have a quirk can react at such high speeds so easily.
Bakugou was as furious as he was puzzeled. His mind couldn't comprehend what just happened, but his ego told him it was all a fluke and he will get Deku the second time, no more dumb luck. Yeah, it was just dumb luck.
"Alright extras, listen up! I want all of you to focus on Deku and Deku alone! Got that?!" Bakugou yelled, which everyone on his team cheered, ready to beat down on the quirkless runt.
"Hold it! Bakugou, you know you are not allowed to use your quirk at school! Especially during P.E! Use it one more time and I'm disqualifying you and having you sit on the bench for the rest of class! You hear me?!" The Coach roared, threatening Bakugou if he doesn't behave.
Bakugou scoffed, a little dissapointed he can't beat up Deku as much as he liked, but he doesn't need to use his quirk to beat Deku.
Once the Coach blew his whistle to continue the game, 3 of Izuku's teammates threw their balls to the enemy, 2 missing and the enemy catching the third. Izuku then saw two balls coming his way and he ducked under the first; it almost hitting the person behind him and easily catching the second, eliminating the thrower and bringing all his teammates onto the field again.
"What?! But how?" One student from the enemy team cried.
"How did he react in time? Even I would have had trouble even dodging the first ball, let alone catching the second!" Another yelled.
"Was the first throw really a fluke, or is he that reactive?" One person on Izuku team asked.
Coach was impressed, happy even. The student who is seen as the weakest was humbling everyone, especially Bakugou, but he knew this will only enrage the boy even more.
"That bastard. How dare he mock me. How dare he look down on me." Bakugou seethed, his teeth grinding against each other.
"Don't you dare try and look down on me Deku! I will show why I am better you bastard!" Bakugou shouted at Izuku, sparks erupting from his palms.
Izuku ignored Bakugou's shouting, focusing on his pumping heart, feeling the rush of excitment filling his body. The thrill his life was missing, given to him by this sport. Ever since his training started with Bardock, the more he trained, the more his body wanted to fight, to move, to do something besides just standing around. That was one of the reasons he chose this sport, not because it was the most voted, but because it would give him the most excitement outside his sparring matches with Bardock.
Izuku smiled, his grin almost chilling everyone who saw it, his eyes locking on their class resident hulk; a burky student who is seen as the most physically strongest, but not so great when it comes to achademics. Izuku threw his arm back, clentching hard onto the ball, and with a shout, he toss the ball towards him.
The kid couldn't react to the sheer speed of the ball, so the ball had zero resistance when it crashed into the kid's stomach, causing him to hurl over and be thrown back a few feet, but the ball didn't have enough, as when the ball bounced off, it ricoshet to another student; a girl who can produce strong gusts of wind, hitting her in the shoulder, eliminating both her and the burly kid from before.
Again, everyone was surprised, again not expecting anything like that from Izuku, the supposed, Quirkless kid.
The game carried on, with Izuku being the only target, leaving themselves open from Izuku's team and himself as Bakugou's team was dwindiling by the minute, leaving himself alone. His eliminated teammates shouted for him to catch a ball, but Bakugou didn't listen and only dodge them.
("Dammit! No matter how hard I throw, I can't hit the nerd!") Bakugou thought, as he dodge another flurry of red balls headed his way. ("And those extras are becoming annoying!") He thought, coming up with a plan on the spot.
Defying his teacher's word, the ball in his hand began to heat up and he hurled his ball, an explosion erupting from his palm, letting the ball to be thrown at a greater speed.
Izuku expected for the ball to head for him, but without moving, it past him and when he turned around and only have time to watch 2 of his teammates get hit from the ball.
"All but Midoriya Izuku from team A has been eliminated!" The Coach called out, having the eliminated students walk to their team's bench. "But with that, Bakugou is also eliminated for using his quirk during the match! Team A is the winner!" The Coach yelled, Bakugou's eyes widen in shock and fury.
("What?! No, no, no, no! This can't be! Why should I put myself down just because the nerd doesn't have a quirk?!") Bakugou talkes to himself in his head, feeling disgusted that he had lost to Deku.
Midoriya's team cheered, happy that they won, some of them coming up to congradulate with Izuku, whilst Bakugou's team yelled and screamed to Bakugou for being such an idiot.
"DEKU!!!" A yell echoed through the entire gymnasium as they all turned to the source of the sound.
"Katsuki don't!"
*BOOM*
"Midoriya! Look out!"
Izuku turned to see a dodgeball heading for his head, but the sudden realisation of what was happening didn't give him the chance to dodge the attack and so the ball, hurled by one of Bakugou's strongest explosions, slammed straight into his face, knocking him across the ground and leaving him with a bleeding nose.
"BAKUGOU!!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!!! Attacking another student is massively against the rules of this school, plus you broke them even more by using your quirk! You also went against my word! You will be severely punished for your stupid actions!" The Coach roared at Bakugou, about to use his quirk to restrain the boy, but Bakugou had muted him out as he rushed at Izuku.
Bakugou lifted Izuku by the shirt, shouting obscenities at the greenete, as he also shook him while the students around them the stepped back while the Coach tried to pull the two away.
"You hear me Deku! You will never be better than me! Now matter what quirk you have, no matter how much you train, study or anything! You've obviously been training with that man! Those reflexes can only be taught! So why don't you show off! Show that you aren't a useless Deku! Come On! Show me! SHOW US ALL!!!" Bakugou tried to get Deku to fight him, but he couldn't, as Deku just stared at him with those terrified eyes from their childhood many years ago.
"Katsuki Bakugou! Let Midoriya go before I have to get my hands bloody! This is your last chance!" The Coach demanded Bakugou, hoping he can get away from this situation without getting physical once more.
"Tsk! Whatever." Bakugou said, dropping Izuku onto the ground as a girl with wavy blue hair helped Izuku up from the ground.
"Midoriya? Are you okay?" She asked, seeing the horror in his face.
Bakugou was walking with the Coach, his hands in his pockets as the Coach was about to take him to the principle's office.
"I'm dissapointed in you Deku." Bakugou spoke, stopping in place as everyone looked at him, The Coach ready to restrain him before he could do anything stupid.
"Why would you care? You hate me. How can I dissappoint you." Izuku asked, holding his hand under his nose to catch the blood.
"You want to become a hero, right? Yet when faced with an opponant, you faulted, like the useless Deku you are! I know you had training, you can't hide that from me. But you're obviously the same crybaby as you were years ago." Bakugou said, as he continued walking.
Izuku frowned, knowing Kacchan was right. He did had the ability to fight back. He didn't know if he even had a chance against Kacchan, but he could have pushed him away, knocked him back or at least spoke back. But seeing that glare caused his whole body to stiffen and tighten. He couldn't help but feel terrified when he is that close to Kacchan's face.
"No wonder why auntie looks the way she does." Bakugou spoke, causing Izuku to freeze, but not in fright.
"What was that?" Izuku asked, his voice cold and stern, as he felt his anger immediately build up inside him.
"I said you're the reason she's the way she is. You are such a burden to her she had to burden herself to keep up with your useless ass." Bakugou said, as Izuku stood up, his anger at its limit.
"Shut up!" Izuku roared, shocking everyone, but not really as they all agreed Bakugou went too far.
"Don't you dare speak about my mother like that! She spent her life loving and caring for me! I know I am a burden to her, but that doesn't stop her from loving me as her son!" Izuku shouted, crying from his eyes as he let loose his anger, not realising his energy began to fluctuate and run rampant inside him.
The wood under his feet cracked, wind began to spiral around him and the whole gymnasium shook from an known force. All the students fell to the ground, believing it was an earthquake, but Izuku, Bakugou and the Coach stood still as Izuku took a step forward.
"Don't you dare insult my mother like that! She already has enough to deal with! She doesn't need someone like you, bringing her confident down!" Another step, the wood cracking and splinting under his step.
Izuku's anger covered his sadness. Bakugou felt his body trembled from the stare he was given.
("What the hell?! What is this?! Why am I trembling so much?!") Bakugou thought, unable to move his body beyond visceral shaking and trembling.
Bakugou didn't realise it, when he was in his thoughts, he felt something pull him by his collor as he was now a few inches from Deku's face.
"I will not allow you to insult my mother like that ever again!" Izuku shouted, the wind intensifying as everyone watched a faint green glow appeared around him, as Izuku opened his mouth, "SO LEAVE MY MOTHER'S NAME, OUT OF YOUR FUCKING MOUTH!!!" Izuku yelled, his voice distorted and deafening to anyone who was hearing it.
Izuku roared with anger as he hurled his free arm, clentching his hand into a fist and slammed it into Bakugou's face, the force of the impact sent the blonde Pomeranian across the gymnasium and into a wall.
"Don't you dare, insult my mother, Bakugou." Izuku said quietly, the wind and shaking dwindle as Izuku fell to his knees, not from physical exhaustion, but from mental exhaustion as his mind finally caught up with his emotion.
("Oh no. No, no, no, no, no. What have I done! I am so in trouble. Kacchan's going to kill me! Mum is going to kill me! Mr. Bardock is going to kill me!") Izuku panicked, as the Coach walked up to him, with a face of proudness, but also dissapointment.
"Midoriya. I will have to take you to nurse's office, along with Bakugou, then the principle's office. I cannot look over the blatant attempt to harm another student." The Coach said as he took Izuku with him, as he took Bakugou with him to the nurse's office.
[Location: Aldera Hallways]
[Time: 1:38pm]
As they were walking through the halls, they both were very silent. Izuku knew he was in so much trouble, but he couldn't help but feel satified with what he did, like an annoying itch.
"Midoriya." Coach spoke up, knocking the green hair boy out from his thoughts.
"Y...yeah, Coach?" Izuku asked, worried about what his P.E teacher would say.
"I'm proud of you." He said, puzzling Izuku.
"Everytime you participated in my class, you would intentionally avoid everyone. Either physically distancing yourself from them or by playing on your own. It upset me, seeing such a young soul be pushed away because of something he cannot control." He said, his frown showing the remorse and regret he had for Izuku.
"I tried to report any wrong doing from the students towards you, but I never hear anything from them." He continued, Izuku listening quietly.
"I am proud that you fought back. Fought back against the most rotten of the apples. I'm proud of that." He said, a smiling replacing his frown.
Izuku was then reminded of what he actually did. He attacked Kacchan because of his anger. The pit in his stomach he didn't realise he had deepened with disgust.
"Woah, hold it right there Midoriya. I know that look on face. What you did wasn't wrong." The Coach said, trying to calm Izuku down.
"But it isn't what a hero would do. A hero would never attack someone out of anger or fury! What Kacchan did wasn't right, but it doesn't give me the right to attack him!" Izuku said, his emotions and fear over taking his rational thoughts.
"Midoriya, Bakugou slandered your mother's name. All you did was protect to protect her honor. You did the right things. You may have done it through anger, but everyone has or will get angry. It's a human emotion we just cannot ignore." The Coach said, trying to tell Izuku he wasn't in the wrong for what he did.
"I know, I just. I can't help but feel terrible. I don't like to hurt people for selfish reasons." Izuku said as he felt the tears from the experience, now starting to flow.
The Coach instinctively stopped their walk and held Midoriya close to him, letting the boy cry his heart out as the said no further words, only the sound of Izuku sniffling fill the halls.
"Listen, Midoriya. I don't really know what it is like to work as a hero. What I do know is that heroes are always pushed to their limits and are always forced to do things they aren't comfortable with." The Coach said, feeling Izuku stur from his chest.
"W...wait, what? What are you saying?" Izuku asked, not expecting to here those words from one of his teachers.
"I read your books Midoriya. Your hero notebooks. You have one hell of a brain Midoriya. Using it alone you would be a great underground hero! But with that power you showed earlier, I'm certain you can reach the top ten easily!" The Coach said, giving Izuku a big smile with a thumbs up.
"Wait, y...you mean you think I can..." Izuku asked, when his Coach finished his sentence.
"...become a hero. Certainly! I'm not one of those idiots who believe in that social media crap. I met plenty of heroes who fight villains, basically quirkless. Most are underground, of course, but their heroes non the less."Coach said, giving Izuku more reasons to like his P.E. teacher even more.
Izuku hugged him tightly, thanking him for his kind words. Telling him he is thankful another person in his life accepted his dream. The Coach smiled, saying he is only doing what an adult should do, as he took Izuku to the nurse's office.
[Location: Aldera Principle's Office]
[Time: 3:13pm]
Once Izuku was patched up by the nurse and Bakugou finally waking up; not attacking Izuku and only glared at him, their Coach took them straight to the Principle's office and explained the situation. The Principle wasn't happy, not at all. He told the boys that they will have the rest of the day off, but will have to stay until their parents come by, so he can explain what happened.
Outside the gates, Bardock was focusing on Izuku's energy, feeling it fluxuate and flicker. He was just training in the forest he usually does when his time isn't being focus on training the kid, but when he felt Izuku's energy explode with his rage, he immediately took off towards the school, but as soon as Izuku's energy erupted, it simmered down, like a flame being put out.
("Dammit kid! What the hell did you get yourself into this time?") Bardock thought, when he was brought out of his stupor by a feminine voice he recognised.
"Bardock?" He turned to see Izuku's mother, Inko Midoriya, a shocked expression on her face.
"Hello miss Midoriya, how has your day been." Bardock asked, seeing a small smile make its place on her face.
"I had better days. I just wasn't expecting a phone call from the school about a fight Izuku has gotten into." She said, holding her face by her right hand.
"Wait, why are you here. If I remember, you don't have a phone." Inko asked, confused.
"Well I felt the kid's energy explode out of nowhere. I believe this fight you mentioned has something to do with that." Bardock said, already suspicious about the whole situation.
"Is he okay. I don't know much about this energy thing you've been teaching him." Inko asked, remembering the various talks she had with Izuku, him telling her about the energy control he was training to harness.
"The kid seems fine, but he nervous. His energy isn't stable, like it is ready to burst if triggered right." Bardock said, worrying Inko.
Before she could say anything else, a car's horn caught their attention, as the duo turned to see a car park up by the school's entrance. Inko recognised the vehicle as the Bakugou's, watching her oldest friend jump outside, waving to her.
"Inko, it's lovely to see you! It's been a while! How are you?" Mitsuki said, french kissing Inko who returned the favour, with Masaru walking up to them from behind and giving her a friendly hug.
"I'm fine Mitsuki, though I'd rather our meeting was under better circumstances." Inko said, as she watched Mitsuki's face turn into a scowl.
"Yeah, me too. Whatever that brat did this time, I will make sure he is servearly punished." She said, clentching her fist tightly, but then she turned to see Bardock standing next to Inko.
Her scowl turned into a michevious grin as she began to giggle to herself.
"My my, Inko. You didn't tell me you gotten back into the dating scene." Mitsuki said, which confused Inko, who had a small blush forming on her cheeks.
"W...what? N...n...no! I haven't. What made you say that?" Inko asked, oblivious to what Mitsuki was saying.
"Oh really, then who is this tall glass of fine wine?" She asked, pointing at Bardock who was completely clueless to Mitsuki's comment.
Inko then felt flustered, as she waved her arms over her face, saying they aren't dating. It would feel wrong for her to try and date Izuku's master.
"My name's Bardock. I'm Midoriya's master. I guess your the brat's parents." Bardock introduced himself, referring to Bakugou.
Mitsuki nodded, saying it is nice to meet him. She said she is glad that the little string bean is getting some help with his dream.
"Well, I'm glad to. But I think it is best that we get this meeting over with so we all can go home." Masaru said, wanting to get this meeting over and done with so that he can punish his son.
"I agree. I want to know what is going on." Bardock says, already prepared to rip people's heads off at any moment.
[Location: Principle's Office]
[Time 3:26pm]
Once everyone got settled into their seats and Bardock introducing himself to the Principle, the principle began to explain everything that had happened during P.E. He showed video footage of the altercation but the cameras were too old to record any audio; allegedly, so the videos were silent. He also reffered to comments from their classmates that witness the whole thing.
"So, as you see. Izuku started the altercation and will be servearly punished for attacking another student and damaging school property." The Principle said, as he kept his stern glare at the parents, his gaze lingering on Inko for a few seconds longer.
"That's bullshit!" Bardock barked, breaking the silence in the room.
"Parden me, what did you just say?" The Principle asked, externally agasped and internally screaming.
"I said that this whole thing is bullshit! You're trying to say the kid started this whole thing, where he is one of the most timid kids I have met? We're not idiots!" Bardock said, his hands firmly on the desk.
"I would have to agree with hi., Mr. Principle. Knowing how our son behaviour, it would make sense he would start the whole thing." Mitsuki said, her tone surprisingly quiet.
"I have to agree aswell. Katsuki isn't a bad kid, but he can be very aggressive sometimes. If he is the one that angered my Izuku, then he should be the one punished." Inko said, feeling a little more confident in her son's innocence.
"I'm sorry, but there is nothing to say otherwise. The video clearly shows Izuku attacking first and..." The Principle was trying to explain his reasoning till something slammed on his desk.
"Stop trying to wriggle your way out of it! The clip you showed us is obviously cut. It starts with the kid already angry! Plus you never brought up the fact he has a bleeding nose!" Bardock said, his aura leaking out, which felt heavy for everyone around him.
"I... Um..." The Principle stammered, as Masaru stood up aswell.
"I agree. I known Izuku since our sons were in diapers, along with my wife. Izuku isn't easily angerd, so someone must have pushed him over the edge." He said, his stern look was as terrifying as his wive's own glare.
Bardock then demanded he bring in the kid and the brat to speak their truths, so they can learn what actually happened. The Principle silently agreed, asking the Coach who was accompanied with them just outside to bring them in so they can explain what happened.
When Bakugou enter the room, he felt all the stern and dissapointed glares on his, even Inko stare was haunting. He can at least kearn where Izuku got it from. Izuku however, felt a sense of relief and comfort when their eyes soften on his presence, even Bardock's stern glare felt calming to him.
"Well, umm, Midoriya, Bakugou. Would you both explain what happened earlier today to your parents, so that they know what truely happened." The Principle said, trying to stay professional during this very tense situation.
Izuku and Bakugou looked at each other, Bakugou eyes glared hatred at Izuku as Izuku shrank on himself and looked away, lowering his head. Bakugou rolled his eyes, scoffing as he explained his side of the story.
"We were playing dodgeball and we were left at the end. I tried to hit him but the nerd kept dodging, so I used my quirk to catch him off guard and the stupid nerd dodged again, and the stupid Coach declared Deku the winner, all because I used my quirk." Bakugou said, with the Coach jumping in to talk about Bakugou's earlier warning.
Mitsuki looked towards Izuku and asked if this was all true and he shyly nodded and Bardock could tell the kid wasn't lying, so he stayed quiet and kept listening.
"Alright, what happened next?" The Principle asked, as Bakugou stayed silent, catching Bardock's keen attention.
"Oi, brat! The Principle asked you a question! Spill it!" Mitsuki yelled, clentching her fist, ready to smack Bakugou over the head.
"N...n...nothing really happened after that." Izuku spoke quietly, getting everyone's attention.
"What was that dear?" Inko asked, not really catching what her son whispered.
"N...nothing really happened. I don't know. It was all fuzzy, and all I can remember after that is punching Kacchan." Izuku said, but Bardock was the one to speak up first.
"Stop lying kid. You know that won't get you anywhere with me around, remember." He said, catching everyone's curiosity.
Bardock briefly explains that he can feel people's energies and their emotions and he can tell if someone is lying or not, but says he didn't need to use it to tell the kid was lying.
"Izuku, honey. Why would you lie? Is there something you don't want to tell us?" Inko asked, very worried for her son.
Izuku felt horrible now, lying to his mother so that Kacchan can get away felt awful, but Bardock's hand on his shoulder made him relax. He looked up to him and his small grin, plus the hopeful smile his mum was giving, gave him all the confidence he needed to properly speak up.
"After Kacchan was eliminated for using his quirk, m...my team was declared the winners and we were all celebrating." Izuku said and Bakugou's eyes widen in horror and shock, along with the Principles, but Bardock and the Bakugou's presence prevented them from acting out.
"But Kacchan was angry, so he decided to take out his anger. On me." He said, Mitsuki immidiantly smaking Bakugou over the head, as she shouted at him for being such an idiot to attack a sweet boy like Izuku.
Bardock felt his own anger boil, and he caught the slight stare from Izuku which caused him to take a few breaths in and out to calm his nerves.
"How did he, 'take out his anger on you', exactly?" Bardock asked which again Izuku hesitated, but he felt that it was best to rip the bandage off.
"He threw a dodgeball into my face, increasing its speed and power from one of his more powerful explosions." He said, causing the whole room to stop and look over to the brat.
"Deku you bastard! I'm going to kill..." Bakugou was about to attack Izuku out of impulse, but Bardock quickly stepped in and neck chopped Bakugou, knocking him out cold and; accidentally letting his unconscious body to hit the floor.
"What the hell?! What the hell did you do?!" The Principle yelled, hoping to have Bakugou's parents on him for attacking their son, but Mitsuki thought otherwise.
"Don't you even dare! What he did was the right thing. If he didn't step in, Izuku would have gotten hurt and he would have caused himself more trouble." She said, feeling like this Principle was more of a snake the longer he spat.
Mitsuki encourages Izuku to carry on speaking, showing that he wouldn't be in trouble with her motherly smile. Izuku felt his anxiety lessen, after the stare he got from Kacchan, and he continue to explain the story till he punched Bakugou into a wall.
The whole room stayed silent, even more and Izuku was shaking in fear, hoping the yelling he was expected to get to be quick. But that yelling or beating didn't happen, and he was hugged closely by his mother and Mitsuki, as they reassured him that he didn't do anything.
Bardock was about to chew the Principle out, his anger about to burst out, but he felt another source of anger, as he turned to see the aura that surrounded Inko, though he was the only one to see it.
"How dare you incriminate my son for something he didn't do! Why would you do something like that, huh?!" Inko yelled, her hand clentched tightly on the desk.
"Yeah! Katsuki was obviously in the wrong, but you tried to blame Izuku for being the aggressor!" Masaru said, his anger reaching his wive's level.
The Principle asked why they are believing a kid and not all the evidence he has, but the Coach spoke up, saying everything Izuku said was true, also saying the student referrals were all made up, as the students never left the gymnasium.
The Principle didn't know how to weasel himself out of this situation, but he felt his throat close up and his neck pulled forwards as his eyes met Inko's.
"I do not believe this is the first time you demonise my little boy. Tell me, were all those calls I gotten about my son causing problems and interrupting class true? If not, then I want to know why you are so eager to throw my son under the bus?" Inko asked, as everyone watched her choke the Principle out.
She lessen her grip on the Principle, so he can speak up, but he stayed silent, but this caused Inko to only increase her hold onto him. Mitsuki tried to calm Inko down, trying to convince her that murdering someone isn't worth it. Izuku was horrified by the anger his mother was giving the Principle, glad it wasn't targeted towards him. He never knew how scary his mother could be.
Bardock just stayed on the sidelines, trying to think of a reason the Principle would discriminate Izuku from the other students in his class. Was it his personality? Was it his tendency to mutter or maybe his curly green hair, as he learned that people with mutant type quirks were very discriminate from, but then his eyes widen in realisation.
"It's because the kid is quirkless, isn't it?" Bardock said and both the he and Inko watched the Principle's eyes widen in fear.
Inko's raged reached a new level, as she decided, 'fuck it', and sucker punch the Principle in the nose, sending him flying onto the ground.
"You monster. You disgust me. Why would you discriminate my son because of something he cannot control?" She said, wiping the little blood she got from the Principle's bloody nose with a rag given by Mitsuki.
Inko grabbed her son's arm, telling the Principle they'll be leaving and she dragged her son out the office, Bardock following behind her as he gave the Principle's the biggest glare he could give.
As the walked away from the office, all three of them heard Mitsuki and Masaru chew out the principle even more, as it was their turn to use the Principle like a broken rubix cube.
"I cannot believe I was so blindsided by such awful people. I am sorry, Izuku, for keeping you in this place to suffer alone." Inko apologised to her son.
"I...it's fine mum, really. I just guess it would had happened sooner or later." Izuku said, making his mother sad.
"No Izu, don't. I'm an awful mother because of it. If I knew about the discrimination before the school year started, this whole place would be under so much red tape, it'll look like a underfunded circus." Inko said, her rage seeping through her gritted teeth.
"It's not your fault mum, it was mine. I kept lying to you so you wouldn't feel to worried and believe me to be more of a burden." Izuku said, which Inko scoffed politely.
"Izu, it's my job to be worried. That's what a mother does. And about you being a burden? You aren't. You may have some tenancies, but that what makes you Izuku, the little boy I love, and no one can ever change that." Inko said, petting Izuku's hair.
Izuku teared up and hugged his mum, thanking her, telling her she is the best mum in the world. She cried her happy tears with him as they were about to flood the school with their tears when Bardock stopped them.
"Alright kid, because you showed off to that brat, time to increase your training difficulty." Bardock said, Izuku whinning and Inko being shocked.
"Don't try it kid. You pushed your training further because of that rage boost you had. Now c'mon, you have a few hours to spare before dinner." He said, giving Izuku a devilish grin he was too familiar with.
"What, no! Mum help!" Izuku yelled, reaching his hand for his mother.
"Hehe, sorry Izu. But you have to be punished somehow. You did break school property." She said, Izuku feeling betrayed.
"You traitor!" Izuku yelled, as he felt the force of Bardock pulling him, dragging him out of the school.
Inko laugged at her son's plight, but she was a responsible parent, not wanting her son to get away with damaging property. She stood up from the ground when she was crying and decided to head to the store, grabbing a few produce to cook for Izuku after his, supposedly hard training.
