Parents' Dreams Entrusted to the Children

"Wait a minute? What exactly did you mean the third day of high school, are you saying that… a human went to Yokai Academy!" Velvet asked shock.

"I see how that can be misleading, but it wasn't actually when Arthur went a human school years ago after he skipped the grades." Celica clarified that info.

"Whoa, you actually skipped some grades like I have!" Laphicet asked shock.

"That's right, I was known at the young wizard genius back in those days and I wanted to learn so much that I spent my time in Yokai Academy for a year and graduating from it." Arthur nodded.

"However, I was satisfied with my success of passing high school much early than everyone else." Arthur mentioned with a slight sad look on his face.

"Because you were learning everything too fast to take a moment about the other things outside of books." Velvet guessed.

"Quite the sharp guess you have, right on the money as some would say." Arthur impressed with how Velvet guess that right.

"As you said, I was moving forward too fast to enjoy the time of my teenage years and younger days because my family had high expectation from me becoming a powerful and successful wizard to carry on the Collbrande name." Arthur explained.

"Talk about feeling the pressure." Laphicet commented.

"Yes, so I talked to the principal about starting high school again and this time only at a slow steady pace." Arthur said.

"He agreed with me and made one condition that I do it in a human high school where I can learn more about the humans being within their walls or as he put it." Arthur mentioned shocking the young couple.

"He actually suggested that?" Laphicet asked shock.

"Yes, he told me how he wanted humans and monsters to coexist one day and build this school for that very purpose even though we had to hide our monster side for the time being." Arthur explained the purpose of Yokai Academy.

"Oh yeah, Miss Shizuka was telling us about that on our first day of school." Laphicet remembered that.

"So, how old were you to skip high school at the time?" Velvet asked curious.

"Well, I was actually around 13 to 14 at the time and I waited, and I went to a human school on the day of the new school new." Arthur answered honestly.

"Wow, it looks like you were the one moving too fast." Velvet chuckled at Laphicet making him blush a little.

"So, that human school is where you met mom?" Laphicet asked.

"That's right, it was in the moment when we enter through the school gate on the opening day." Arthur nodded.

"I can still remember how our eyes met even though we were just going in the same direction to attention the opening ceremony." Celica smiled excitingly.

(Flashback)

Most students are walking through the school gate while others are in a little hurry fearing that they might be late to attend the opening ceremony, young Arthur was just talking at a steady pace with good timing.

"I saw how some humans were act different than the others despite wearing the same clothing for the school, almost like the clothes don't define who you are." Arthur commented.

A young Celica has just arrived at the school gate panting a bit as he had to run from home because she woke up late, but she saw that she still had time and walk peacefully.

Young Arthur was about to enter the building with the door close, but turns around seeing the girl coming to and decided to let the door open for the girl.

"Thank you." Celica thanked.

"You're welcome." Arthur smiled back.

That's when the two felt their eyes making contact with each other for what feels like hours was only a few seconds or more, and then Celica almost tripped on the floor after stumbling on her own foot.

"Are you okay?" Arthur asked.

"No worries, everything is fine. Guess I was about to through another "Fall" season even though it's spring." Celica joked making Arthur confused.

"Your mother wasn't good with jokes back then either." Arthur chuckled.

"Hey, I can be funny!" Celica proclaimed.

"I'm sorry mom, but you aren't." Laphicet disagreed with his mom.

"Oh…" Celica exclaimed.

"So, the second day you two met again?" Velvet wanted to hear more.

Celica is seen walking peacefully through the schoolground trying to find a good spot to eat her lunch since it started two minutes ago, but couldn't find a good place to eat until she spotted the guy from yesterday sitting on the grass slope.

"Hi, are you eating alone out here?" Celica called out.

"Hello, you're the girl from yesterday." Arthur recognized her.

"Yep, I'm also out here to eat my lunch. Do you mind if I join you?" Celica asked showing her box lunch.

"I guess it wouldn't hurt to have an extra company on this fine day." Arthur patted the spot for Celica to sit on.

But then the wind picked up causing the ponytail of Arthur to go up to the nose tickling the holes which makes it twitch and Arthur suddenly feel the urge to sneeze.

And when he let out that sneeze, it causes a strong wind to blow on the girl's skirt to raise up crazy revealing her underwear right in front of the boy's face with his eyes widen of shock.

"Oh my, that was quite the sneeze." Celica shocked.

"I-I… I'm so sorry!" Arthur suddenly ran off with his lunch and his face was turning red as well.

"H-Hey, wait!" Celica called out, but he would not stop running.

"It was at that moment I experienced my first embarrassing teenage moment, I was worried that Celica would be mad at me after that." Arthur said.

The scene shows the next day where Celica is looking around to search for Arthur after he left the classroom which they have been put in together, but she couldn't find him at the same spot where he was having his lunch then look elsewhere.

"I wanted him to understand that I wasn't mad or anything, but that was when I also found out about his magic powers." Celica said.

Celica made a left turn at the corner of the school building to see Arthur is holding onto an injured bird chirping in pain of its wing, and then she saw how Arthur's hands were glowing for three seconds and the bird is flying away suddenly like it was never injured in the first place.

"There, now you can continue flying freely, little one." Arthur smiled.

"No way!" Celica gasped which got Arthur's attention.

"Y-You, you're Celica!" Arthur shocked in horror that his magic ability has been discovered by the same girl from yesterday.

(Flashback End)

"I can't believe you were caught so easily, and you were giving off the strong presence type." Velvet said.

"I guess you could say Celica was the one person I let my guard down, there was something about her that made me feel at ease. Like I didn't have to worry about anything." Arthur smiled as he hugs his wife with one arm.

"I also wanted to be around with Arthur more even though I didn't know why at the time, but I did have a strong feeling that it love at first sight." Celica stated.

"I see, so then you two started hanging out together then later becoming a couple while learning more about each other." Velvet figured out that much.

"That's right, Arthur told me a lot about how the monsters are real and some living in the shadows of humanity because of how they were mistreated and threatened in the past." Celica nodded.

"It made my stomach twist and I was feeling angry of how people could be so cruel to other living beings." Celica showed a little of her angry face.

"That's how things are in life, even us monsters can be cruel to each other at times like how you humans are to each other." Velvet stated.

Laphicet felt sad upon hearing those words that both sides have difficult times even among their own race, he hopes there is a way for humans and monsters to coexist since they share the same planet and all.

"Anyway, it wasn't long until our third-year in high school that I wanted to meet Arthur's family during winter break." Celica mentioned which it was Arthur's turn to look sad.

"Really? You met my grandparents of dad's side!" Laphicet asked shock.

"Yeah, he was against it at first, but I gave him a good loving speech to make him change his mind." Celica grinned with a hand in front of her mouth.

"And so, we came to see parents during winter break though I'm sure you can imagine how they reacted when they met Celica being human." Arthur sighed.

"…You didn't tell them about her, did you?" Velvet asked.

"Not exactly, I just told them that I managed to make a new friend during the first week of high school and she's been teaching me more about the human ways than what we were always told and seen." Arthur answered a little nervous.

"But they were angry, weren't they?" Laphicet said already seeing where this was going.

"Yes, they did not like the idea of the prodigy being close to a human friend let alone being together with a female human as they showed their displease toward her during the break." Arthur said feeling a bit angry of the memory.

"It wasn't that bad, at least your parents didn't do anything hurtful like attacking me with their magic." Celica stated.

But Celica would admit in her mind that she has notice that Arthur's parents were not really happy about them being together, and would even give her some death-glares wishing the human woman to be dead yet she kept on being a happy and cheerful girl hoping to earn a little of their respect.

Unfortunately, that was in vein when winter break was over and she was more surprised of what Arthur said to his parents.

"You know, Arthur. I never forgot what you said to your parents before we left." Celica smiled.

"And I meant every word of it." Arthur smiled.

"What did you say to my grandparents?" Laphicet asked curious.

"I told them that Celica has been the best thing that ever happened to me, I even got to experience more about humans that there are both the good times and the bad times." Arthur remembered that moment.

"I wanted to experience of that life with Celica and to be someone I truly want to be than having others make decisions for me. I would even threaten them to destroy if they dare try anything to hurt my beloved Celica and ruin the family name." Arthur revealed.

"Whoa, I had no idea you had it in you!" Laphicet surprised.

"I was quite surprised of my sudden outburst, but I never regret a single thing." Arthur smiled.

"After that and graduating high school, we had some interesting fun of our own during the final year of college which I how I ended up being pregnant with our little boy." Celica giggled.

"Wow, you two certainly didn't waste any time." Velvet commented and blushed a bit.

"It was then that we had our proof that humans and monsters can coexist together, Arthur and I were able to overcome that big wall when you were born." Celica smiled.

"Laphicet, you are what helps monsters and humans to understand one another and I have a strong feeling that future is going to become brighter with you at the center." Arthur smiled as well.

Laphicet was shocked to hear all of that, being known as the hope for the humans and monsters coexisting future just for being born, it felt too sudden for him at the moment.

"Easy there, Laphicet." Velvet said holding his hand.

"Huh?" Laphicet snapped out of his thoughts and look at his girlfriend.

"I know it must be tough to be that bridge, but it doesn't mean you have to do it alone when you have me by your side and let's not forget the other friends we made at school." Velvet smiled.

"She's right, no one can do the impossible alone. Not when you have important people in your life to give you purpose." Celica nodded and leaned her head on Arthur's shoulder.

Laphicet took a deep breath upon hearing those words knowing that everything is going to be alright as long as he has Velvet and the others by his side.

"So Laphicet, how much of your magic power have you been able to master?" Arthur asked.

"Well, I've been doing well with the talismans you gave me and apparently I can do silver flames too." Laphicet answered.

This causes Arthur's eyes to widen in shock upon hearing those words that his own son can do fire magic but the fire he makes are silver, he never heard anything like that before yet this felt somehow familiar to him like he heard about this before.

"Is everything okay, Arthur?" Celica asked.

"Yes, I'm fine. It just silver flames are unheard of, even to powerful wizards like myself." Arthur said.

"So, you never heard of this?" Velvet asked.

"Wow, so my power is a mystery." Laphicet amazed.

"Just don't let that go over your head or you could end up with a dreadful fate." Velvet warned.

"Okay, I won't." Laphicet nodded.

"(Hmm, silver flames… I believe there was some story about it, but I can't seem to remember.)" Arthur thought tried to remember, but nothing came up.

That's when Laphicet's stomach started to grumble that everyone heard.

"Sounds like a certain someone is getting hungry!" Celica giggled.

"Oh, for a second there, I thought there was a dragon in the room." Velvet teased.

"Hey, I can't help it that I'm hungry! That just how the body works." Laphicet stated with his cheeks red.

"Well, I better start getting lunch ready since I was about to cook." Celica said as she stood up.

"Mind if I help? I know my way around the kitchen from my guardian." Velvet offered to help cook with her.

"If you're offering then I wouldn't mind, got to make sure that you also have skills in the kitchen to feed my little dragon with his tummy." Celica accepted while teasing her son.

"Mom!" Laphicet winced, feeling embarrassed.

"(Dragon?)" Arthur thought started having some thoughts about a dragon and Laphicet's silver flame.

It didn't take long for Celica and Velvet together to make lunch together that turned out great with how everyone is enjoying the food.

"Wow, I had no idea that you also knew many ways with rice water. I thought that was only in my family!" Celica impressed with how Velvet helped out in the kitchen.

"Guess great minds think alike." Velvet smiled.

"So Laphicet, have you made any friends in Yokai Academy?" Celica asked her son.

"Yeah! I made friends with two witch sisters, a half-mermaid and half-witch who the student council president, a succubus, a snow girl, and a normal human!" Laphicet answered.

"A normal human in Yoki Academy. That must've been the "extra" surprise I told me." Arthur recalled those words.

"Yeah, but only me, Velvet, and a vampire girl naked Moka know his secret. And let just say we've been finding ourselves in strange situations that involves surviving." Laphicet mentioned nervously.

"Surviving?! What do you mean by that?!" Celica screamed loud that made everyone jump.

"Easy Celica, I'm sure the new neighbors heard you." Arthur joked a bit.

"New neighbors?" Laphicet confused.

"Oh yes, the ones who lived in the house on the left moved out and sold the house. The new residents just moved in three days ago." Celica explained.

"Are we going to meet them?" Laphicet asked.

"Of course, we are! What kind of neighbors would we be if we didn't give them a greeting with warm smiles!" Celica answered cheerfully.

"Always trying to be friends with some new friends you meet." Arthur chuckled.

"It looks like our summer here is going to be interesting." Velvet smiled.

"Yeah!" Laphicet nodded.
