Title: The Sun Dragon, Part 2
The blimp was flying across the ocean… However, a thick purple fog had gathered around the top of the blimp. Inside the fog (Shadow Realm), the next duel of the Battle City Finals was going on. Not only that, but Lady (LP: 4000) was actually winning—although she was NOT enjoying it one bit.
"Lady! Lady! Calm down!" called Percy, "Lady!"
Still, the beautiful blonde-haired girl would not reply, because it looked like she was stuck in a frightened trance of some sort.
"Why won't she answer?" Percy asked after giving up.
"What the heck is the matter with her?" wondered James, "Lady is clearly winning the duel, and yet she's scared of something."
Back on the duel platform, Dark Marik let out a very cruel laugh at how pathetic and scared his opponent looked right about now.
"What's the matter, my dear?" taunted Dark Marik (LP: 2050), "Is there something on my face?"
He laughed menacingly once more, causing Lady to become more and more frightened by the minute.
"Marik!" The voice of Thomas shouted out, "Stop this madness at once!"
Dark Marik frowned and turned to look towards his greatest enemy below the duel platform.
"Hmph! If there's one thing I can't stand," grumbled Dark Marik unhappily, "it's a goodie two shoes trying to spoil my fun."
"What fun?!" accused Thomas, "Your 'fun' is nothing more than using a Shadow Game to torture someone!"
"Which 'is' my fun!" Dark Marik retorted, before grinning darkly, "Don't you worry, Thomas, you'll get your chance to experience it—once we face each other for real."
Thomas only continued to gaze furiously. Dark Marik then proceeded to turn back to Lady and continue with the duel.
"Now then, Polly Stone, when you destroyed 'Makyura the Destructor', you've activated its absolutely terrifying effect!" As he spoke, Dark Marik held his left arm (with the Duel Disk) out to show the GY Zone, "If this card is sent from the Monster Zone to the GY: I can activate 1 Trap Card from my hand this turn."
"A Trap Card from the hand?!" gasped Lady, speaking for the first time in minutes.
"That's right!" cackled Dark Marik, taking a card from his hand and showing what it was, "And I'll begin with this… I activate a Trap, 'Rope of Life'!"
The mentioned Trap Card materialized face-up on the field, just before creating a bottomless hole with a long rope lowering into it.
"When a monster(s) is destroyed by battle and sent to my GY: I must…" explained Dark Marik, taking all remaining cards from his hand and discarding them. Seconds later, he took and held a card ('Makyura the Destructor') from his GY, "…discard my entire hand (min.1), then target 1 of those monsters; I must Special Summon it, and if I do, it gains 800 ATK."
Within seconds, 'Makyura the Destructor' was pulled up by the rope, then grew stronger (ATK: 1600 → 2400). Lady grimaced from seeing this, as now she was facing an even more dangerous monster.
"Marik's monster is now stronger than my own monster," thought Lady, just before grimacing, "There's no doubt about it… He's going to attack me back!"
Sadly so…
"Shredding Execution!" commanded Dark Marik, as 'Makyura the Destructor' lunged for its target.
"Hold up, I thought Marik already attacked?" James questioned, who thought the Battle Phase was over.
"He did… but he lost his monster and brought it back with a Trap Card," explained Zack, causing James and Mavis to look over, "And since it's still his Battle Phase when he did that, Marik can use his revived monster to attack."
'Makyura the Destructor', meanwhile, slashed at 'Amazoness Swords Woman' with its claws, leaving red claw marks on the monster before the wounds ended up destroying her.
"AUGH!" screamed Lady, dropping to her knees and clutching her chest in pain, "W-What's…?" Bringing her free hand up, she saw…blood on the fingers, "I'm…bleeding?!"
"Already forgotten the conditions of our little Shadow Game?" mocked Dark Marik, "In this duel, our lives are on the line… And while it is all indeed a simple illusion, the pain is oh so real. The first duelist to reach zero LP…dies."
He laughed maniacally while Lady shivered like a leaf in terror. Below the platform, the group was both scared and worried for their friend.
"Lady!" cried Percy, "It's not real! You have to fight it and be strong!"
But again, the beautiful blonde-haired girl, as she stood on the platform, didn't respond back.
"She's too scared to listen," The voice of Edward said gravely.
"How pathetic," scoffed Dark Marik, chuckling darkly at the same time, "I was actually expecting to fight someone with a much braver streak than this!"
Lady only continued to shiver in fear. Suddenly, Dark Marik looked at his Duel Disk's LP gauge and, growing shocked, noticed something.
"This can't be!" Dark Marik exclaimed in outrage, while his LP counter read 1150 instead of 2050, "According to my LP, they went down to 1150 like I took the damage!" He looked up in anger, "What the hell is going on?!"
Below the platform, everyone else (with a select few) was surprised by the action, too.
"How did that happen?" asked Henry, "Shouldn't Lady have taken that damage?"
"It's because of 'Amazoness Swords Woman's' monster effect," replied Carlie, "Your opponent takes any battle damage you would have taken from battles involving this card instead."
"Then Lady should consider herself lucky she had that monster and not another one," remarked Emily.
"Too bad she's still terrified out of her mind," Gordon added unhappily.
Regardless of that setback on his part, Dark Marik recovered and no longer looked worried in the slightest.
"Heh! It makes little difference to me," he said dismissively, "I end my turn."
Trying to shake the fear from her mind, Lady drew her card without a word.
Turn Nine: Lady Stone (LP: 4000)
Deck: 50
Current Hand (5): "De-Spell", "Dunames Dark Witch", "Fairy's Hand Mirror", "Amazoness Chain Master", and "Grave Arm"
Looking at her hand, Lady, still shivering from fear, struggled to take one of her cards, but then accidentally dropped them both onto the ground.
"Oh!" The beautiful blonde-haired girl cried out, kneeling down to pick them back up.
"Not good! She can't even think straight," realized Discord in concern.
Regardless, as she stood back up, Lady recovered a little bit and slotted a card into a Spell & Trap Zone on her Duel Disk, then a card ('Amazoness Chain Master') onto a Monster Zone on her Duel Disk.
"I Set one card face-down, then I'll Summon 'Amazoness Chain Master' in Attack Position!" The voice of Lady croaked, as the above scenario played out
Appearing onto the field was another Amazoness wearing skimpy clothing and wielding a long, golden chain (Level: 4/ATK: 1500/DEF: 1300).
"My turn is over," finished Lady.
"Then let's continue the torture session!" accepted Dark Marik. With that said, he drew his card, "Draw!"
Turn Ten: Dark Marik (LP: 1150)
Deck: 48
Current Hand (1): "Holding Arms"
The drawn card was a monster card called 'Holding Arms'.
"Well, well, this creature should do good enough!" mused Dark Marik, as he held his drawn card out, "I Summon 'Holding Arms' in Attack Position!"
Appearing onto the field was a pair of shackles with the Millennium Eye symbol between each cuff (Level: 4/ATK: 500/DEF: 1200).
"And its two effects will scare you further," Dark Marik continued, now wagging his tongue around, "The first effect… If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: I must target 1 face-up monster my opponent controls; while this card is face-up on the field, that face-up monster cannot attack for 3 of my opponent's turns, also its effects are negated!"
"What?!" panicked Lady.
The shackles that was 'Holding Arms' attached itself to Lady's 'Amazoness Chain Master' and suspended her in the air.
"Next, there's the second effect," continued Dark Marik, "While that face-up monster is on the field, this card cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects," He then pointed forth at Lady's field, "Now watch what will happen next, Polly Stone!"
Suddenly, 'Holding Arms' shocked Lady's monster with electricity, causing her to yell in pain. Unfortunately, Lady also began screaming in intense pain as she started getting shocked, as well. Below the platform, the group the scene with horror.
"Lady, no!" Percy, Mavis, James, and Toby all called out at once.
"Stop this now, Marik!" demanded Thomas, "You're going too far!"
"Not far enough, boy!" Dark Marik insisted, looking delighted with all of the chaos and torture he was conducting, "So long as we're dueling under my rein, I make the rules!"
Once the shock torture ended, Lady again collapsed onto her knees—but this time, she was so scared that she wanted to surrender and flee from Dark Marik.
"I can't go on," Lady said to herself in fear, "I'm too scared. And the pain is too unbearable."
Below the platform, everyone knew Lady was in huge danger.
"Thomas, Lady is about to crack!" exclaimed Percy, turning to grab Thomas by his (Thomas) shirt collar, "C'mon! You have to do something to help her!"
"But what can I do?" questioned Thomas, being shook by his panicked best friend, "I'm not the one dueling her."
"But you've now got a Millennium Item of your own," argued Percy, desperate for any sort of idea, "Can't that do anything to help her?"
"I don't even know how it works!"
Before anything more could be said, the Millennium Puzzle started glowing all gold.
"Huh?!" Thomas and Percy, looking down, both gasped in surprise.
Atop the duel platform…
"What's this?!" roared Dark Marik in surprise.
A beam shot out of the puzzle and struck Lady, but did not actually hurt her.
(new location…)
Inside Lady's mind, she was still cowering on her knees and shivering.
"I'm so afraid," whimpered Lady, "I can't fight anymore… It hurts too much…"
"Lady Stone… Lady Stone…" A new voice (male) echoed.
"Who's there?" peeped Lady, looking up. Suddenly, she suddenly saw a light up ahead, "A light?"
Lady slowly got up and moved towards the light, gasping at what she saw at the end of her little walk. It was none other than Thomas Billinton, and he was here to help his friend.
"Thomas… is that you?" The voice of Lady uttered.
"Yes," confirmed Thomas softly, with a Millennium Eye symbol on his forehead, "My Millennium Puzzle must have allowed me to enter your mind to talk with you."
Lady didn't know what to say, "But why?"
"Because I want to tell you… you're not alone," said Thomas kindly.
"You mean… the others still care for me?" repeated Lady, "Even though I was a doubtful pessimist?"
"We all care very much for you," Thomas assured, placing both hands onto Lady's shoulders, "Even Liz does, too."
"But she yelled at me!" Lady sniffled sadly, "Which I deserved."
"Liz was just being a good older sister to Percy," Thomas pointed out, "And even then, she didn't mean what she said to you. She even told us that before we came out to watch the duel."
"R-Really?" asked Lady hopefully.
"I mean every word," Thomas answered truthfully, "Now get out there and show Marik how great of a duelist you really are!"
Realizing Thomas's words were really nothing but the truth, Lady felt much better about facing the evil that was Dark Marik.
"Alright, Thomas," she said, sounding more and more confident, "I will."
(elsewhere…)
Back atop the blimp, Lady was back on her feet, no longer scared.
"How can this be?!" gawked Dark Marik in shock, "You should be cowering before me!"
"I'm not afraid of you anymore," retorted Lady bravely, "Thanks to my friends, I'll be able to defeat you!"
"What?!" Dark Marik demanded, before gazing down at Thomas with an enraged glare, "You!"
"Heh! Looks like you've lost your touch, Marik," grinned Thomas, while his Millennium Puzzle continued to glow, "Now things should be more even around here."
"How dare you interrupt my Shadow Game, Thomas!" bellowed Dark Marik, taking out and holding his (Dark Marik) Millennium Rod out towards Thomas, "It looks like I'll have to teach you a little lesson by showing you what happens when you interfere!"
The Millennium Rod started glowing all gold, and Thomas, clutching his neck with both hands, started choking while finding himself being lifted off the ground.
"Thomas!" Emily and the likes cried out, scared for their friend's well-being.
After a few seconds, a satisfied Dark Marik lowered his Millennium Rod as it ceased glowing.
"That's enough punishment—for now," growled Dark Marik.
Emily gripped onto Thomas's shoulders as he coughed and sputtered while trying to regain his breath.
"Are you okay?" Emily pressed, all with a look of worry on her face.
"I…think so," Thomas coughed a bit.
"Damn you!" shouted James, before directing his attention towards Lady on the platform, "Lady!"
Lady looked over her shoulder and listened to her enraged red-haired friend.
"Do me a favor and kick Marik's ass!" The voice of James requested.
"Relax, James," reassured Lady, finally putting all her focus on the duel, "I'll take care of this," In her mind… "Thank you, Thomas. I now feel more at peace, and I'm not afraid of the darkness anymore," She drew her card, "Draw!"
Turn Eleven: Lady Stone (LP: 4000)
Deck: 49
Current Hand (4): "De-Spell", "Dunames Dark Witch", "Fairy's Hand Mirror", and "Blood Exchange"(!)
It was a Spell Card called 'Blood Exchange'.
"Just what I need," thought Lady with a smile, "Get ready, Marik! This is a whole new duel!"
"Hmm?" Dark Marik raised an eyebrow.
"I activate the Spell Card, 'Blood Exchange'!" Lady continued, just as the mentioned Spell card materialized face-up on her side of the field, "I must pay 800 LP; I must shuffle all cards in my hand into the Deck, then draw 3 cards."
"Go ahead," offered Dark Marik, "Not like they will do you any good."
Lady took a mild LP hit (LP: 4000 → 3200) as she shuffled her hand into her Deck, shuffled the deck, and drew three cards. They were shown to be 'Amazoness Spellcaster' (Spell Card), 'Dramatic Rescue' (Trap Card), and 'Amazoness Fighter' (Effect Monster Card).
"I end my turn here," Lady concluded.
"And here I was hoping for a big play," sighed Dark Marik, drawing a card and beginning his own turn, "Not that it matters to me… It's my turn!"
Turn Twelve: Dark Marik (LP: 1150)
Deck: 47
Current Hand (1): "Card of Last Will"
His drawn card was a Trap Card called 'Card of Last Will'.
"I Set one card and end my turn," he stated, slotting his drawn card into his Duel Disk.
A face-down card materialized on the field.
"Marik made no effort to attack," Mavis remarked suspiciously, "Why not?"
"Oh, I want the torture to draw out for as long as possible," snickered Dark Marik, with his face stretching out like bad animation, "Like so!"
'Holding Arms' began to glow and surge electricity onto 'Amazoness Chain Master', but Lady was ready for it this time…
"Don't even think about it, Marik!" she exclaimed, "I activate a Quick-Play Spell, 'Grave Arm'!"
The beautiful blonde-haired girl's face-down card flipped face-up and revealed itself.
"I must target 1 card on the field; I must destroy that target!" explained Lady.
"Too bad it won't work on my 'Holding Arms', since it can't be destroyed by battle or card effects," smirked Dark Marik.
"Whoever said I would use it on your monster?" Lady asked teasingly, "I'm using it on my own monster!"
"You're what?!"
A large arm reached out from the ground and grabbed 'Amazoness Chain Master'.
"Why would you destroy your own monster?" asked Dark Marik.
"To prevent your monster from torturing me," Lady answered, before holding up a few fingers of her right hand and pointing at her opponent, "And because my own monster has a special ability."
Before being dragged under, 'Amazoness Chain Master' twirled her chain around before throwing it.
"When this card is destroyed and sent to the GY: I can pay 1000 LP; I must…" The voice of Lady explained, as the chain collided with Dark Marik's Deck, "…look at my opponent's Deck, then add 1 monster from their Deck to my hand! And there's one card I want from it…"
The chain pierced Dark Marik's Deck and dragged a card out of it. Lady caught it and held it ('The Winged Dragon of Ra') out her opponent to see.
"'The Winged Dragon of Ra'!" announced Lady, smirking with triumph.
"She took what?!" James R.'s eyes nearly bugged out.
Carlie was surprised, "She took 'Ra' from Marik!" she acknowledged, "That was a move I totally didn't see coming!"
"I have to say that's pretty clever," smiled Discord.
"Sure this move cost me 1000 LP, but it was worth it," Lady commented, taking a LP hit (LP: 3200 → 2200).
Normally, the opponent would be outraged that his/her best card was taken from him/her, but Dark Marik was actually smiling over his best card being taken just like that… Before long, he started erupting into loud laughter.
"Congratulations!" Dark Marik praised, sarcastically and sinisterly, "You got my best card. Let's see if you'll last long enough to use it! As you now have no monster to protect you, I'm free to attack you directly!"
"Not quite," denied Lady, "Since you've ended your turn, I'm spared of a direct attack."
Dark Marik let out a huff, "Hmph! A good point…" he agreed (somewhat), "Draw your card."
"Don't mind if I do!" nodded Lady, drawing her card, "Draw!"
Turn Thirteen: Lady Stone (LP: 2200)
Deck: 48
Current Hand (5): "Amazoness Spellcaster", "Dramatic Rescue", "Amazoness Fighter", "The Winged Dragon of Ra", and "Cyber Harpie Lady"
Her drawn card was the 'Cyber Harpie Lady' Effect Monster Card.
"The good news is that I got 'Ra' into my hand," Lady thought to herself, "The problem is that I have no other monsters to Tribute and Summon it."
Below the platform…
"This is interesting," Spencer commented aloud.
"What is?" asked Skiff.
"Lady was able to take Marik's 'Egyptian God' Card," answered Spencer, "Now it's only a matter of time until she Summons it," In his mind… "So I can see how the real thing works."
Back atop the platform, Lady finally made a play…
"I Set two cards face-down," she began, slotting two cards into her Duel Disk before placing another card ('Amazoness Fighter') onto the device, "From there, I'll Summon 'Amazoness Fighter' in Attack Position!"
Another 'Amazoness' monster in skimpy clothing appeared onto the field (Level: 4/ATK: 1500/DEF; 1300). Unlike the others, she had no weapon.
"I end my turn!" concluded Lady.
"This is too easy," scoffed Dark Marik, drawing his card, "But that also means more fun for me! Draw!"
Turn Fourteen: Dark Marik (LP: 1150)
Deck: 42
Current Hand (1): "Holding Legs"
And the Battle Phase began…
"Go, 'Makyura'!" commanded Dark Marik, as 'Makyura the Destructor' charged towards 'Amazoness Fighter', "Attack 'Amazoness Fighter'!"
Upon hearing those words…
"Stop right there!" called Lady, poking a button on her Duel Disk, "I activate a Quick-Play Spell, 'Amazoness Spellcaster'!"
The first face-down card flipped up and revealed itself.
"I must target 1 'Amazoness' monster I control and 1 face-up monster my opponent controls; I must switch the original ATK of those targets until the end of this turn!" The voice of Lady explained, just as a magical blast was launched into the air, split in two, then fell onto 'Makyura the Destructor' and 'Amazoness Fighter', "Our monsters switch stats!"
'Makyura the Destructor' grew weaker (ATK: 2400 → 1500), while 'Amazoness Fighter' grew stronger (ATK: 1500 → 2400).
"Counterattack!" commanded Lady.
'Amazoness Fighter' obeyed, kicking 'Makyura the Destructor' in the stomach, destroying him in an instant.
"Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha…" laughed Dark Marik (LP: 1150 → 250), just as a gory wound was being punched into his stomach and spewing out blood and guts, "How wonderfully painful…"
Lady looked frightened and a little sick to her own stomach from seeing that, but she managed to keep herself calm from seeing the illusion. Just then, a face-down card on Dark Marik's side of the field flipped face-up and revealed itself.
"Furthermore, I'll activate a Trap Card, 'Card of Last Will'," The evil man stated, sending his activated Trap Card to the GY and drawing four cards, "If the ATK of a monster(s) I control changes by a card effect: I must draw until I have 5 cards in my hand."
Lady grew worried over what she did; she had assumed by waiting until her opponent had no cards in her hand, 'Makyura the Destructor's' effect would not activate when it got destroyed. Well, so much for that plan.
"Now to activate 'Makyura the Destructor's' effect!" continued Dark Marik, taking and readying one of his new cards (without showing what it was), "Thanks to you refreshing my hand, I'll activate this terrifying Trap Card," He turned the card ('Nightmare Wheel') over and showed the opponent what it was, "Suffer more pain and horror…from 'Nightmare Wheel'!"
Suddenly, 'Amazoness Fighter' found herself trapped on a huge torture wheel of sorts.
"'Amazoness Fighter'!" cried Lady.
"I must activate this card by targeting 1 monster my opponent controls; it cannot attack or change its battle position," explained Dark Marik, excited over hurting Lady more than ever before, "When it leaves the field, I must destroy this card!"
"This is bad!" exclaimed Ryan in worry, "Lady will be tortured more if she doesn't do something!"
Dark Marik laughed in agreement, "Exactly!" he exclaimed, growing very excited, "Oh, how I will enjoy those screams of agony!"
"Which is why I won't let that happen," Lady spoke up.
"Huh?!" flinched Dark Marik.
"I activate my other face-down card!" declared Lady, poking a button on her Duel Disk, "Trap Card, open! Dramatic Rescue, activate!"
The beautiful blonde-haired girl's final set card flipped face-up and revealed itself.
"When a card is activated that targets an 'Amazoness' monster on the field: I must return that targeted monster to the hand, and if I do, Special Summon 1 other monster from my hand."
Below the platform…
"Does this mean-?" Thomas started to say.
"You don't think-?" came from Gordon.
Back on the platform, Lady looked to her hand.
"So, does this mean you're going to Summon my 'Egyptian God' monster?" asked Dark Marik teasingly.
"I'm no fool, Marik," said Lady seriously, "I know if I Summon 'Ra' right now, it would have 0 ATK and DEF because I never Tributed any monsters to Summon it."
"You're smart to know that," commented Dark Marik.
Nearby, Spencer frowned in disappointment.
"However!" The voice of Lady cut in, thus making Spencer look in her direction. She had her arms folded, and a confident smile on her face, "You'll see it soon enough—before the end of my next turn, that is!"
'Amazoness Fighter' then turned back into a card and returned to Lady's hand, before she took a new card to play.
"And now, I choose to Special Summon 'Cyber Harpie Lady'!" announced Lady, placing the card onto her Duel Disk.
The familiar winged-humanoid female wearing purple clothing and 'Cyber Shield'-like armor appeared on the field, taking 'Amazoness Fighter's' place (Level: 4/ATK: 1800/DEF: 1300).
"And since the original target for your Nightmare Wheel left the field, the Trap Card is also destroyed!" Lady reminded, pointing forth at her opponent.
Dark Marik growled, watching as his face-up 'Nightmare Wheel' Trap Card (and Nightmare Wheel itself) shattered into pieces of glass.
"Ah, that's much better," smiled Lady, preparing to draw her next card, "Now to focus on summoning that 'God' monster."
Despite the minor setback, Dark Marik merely smirked to himself.
"Will you control 'Ra'?" he thought to himself, "Or will 'Ra' control you?"
Below the platform…
"All Lady has to do is attack next turn," Percy was saying happily, "and she's won!"
"You're right; since 'Amazoness Chain Master' left the field, Marik can take damage from 'Holding Arms' being in Attack Position," added Matt.
Back on the platform…
"Here's where it ends!" Lady announced, drawing her card, "I draw!"
Turn Fifteen: Lady Stone (LP: 2200)
Deck: 47
Current Hand (3): "Amazoness Fighter", "The Winged Dragon of Ra", and "Graceful Charity"
It was the 'Graceful Charity' Spell Card.
"Not exactly what I need," she thought to herself, "But it might still help me get what I need to win the duel."
"Guys, how will Lady summon 'Ra' if she only has one monster?" Molly asked curiously.
"She may have a surprise in store," replied Emily, "But the better option would be for her to attack 'Holding Arms' without Summoning 'Ra'. Either way, she wins."
Back atop the platform…
"I activate the Spell Card, 'Graceful Charity'!" proclaimed Lady, holding her drawn card out, "I must draw 3 cards, then discard 2 cards!"
Dark Marik gave an uninterested grunt. Lady proceeded to draw her three cards at once. Looking back at her hand, she then took two cards afterward.
"First I'll get rid of these two cards," thought Lady, discarding the 'Amazoness Fighter' Effect Monster Card and her drawn 'Harpies' Hunting Ground' Spell Card, "Now, did I…?"
She had added 'Gravity Bind' (Trap Card) and 'Elegant Egotist' (Spell Card) both to her hand and had a satisfied smile on her face when she saw the latter card.
"Oh, I am so good," Lady muttered quietly, just before speaking up, "Well, you've asked for it, Marik, and now I'm gonna give it to you."
Below the platform…
"What's that supposed to mean?" asked Skiff.
"'The Winged Dragon of Ra'!" Spencer answered, with his eyes wide as dinner plates.
"'Ra'?" repeated Mrs. Gresley (Boxford).
"Does Lady have a way to Summon the 'God'?" wondered Mr. Gresley (Boxford)
Back atop the platform…
"I activate the Spell Card, 'Elegant Egotist'!" announced Lady, slotting a card into a Spell/Trap slot on her Duel Disk.
The mentioned Spell Card then materialized face-up on the field.
"If 'Harpie Lady' is on the field: I must Special Summon 2 'Harpie Lady Tokens'!" As Lady spoke, she held her right hand into the air, "Their ATK/DEF becomes the same as 'Harpie Lady'!"
"'Cyber Harpie Lady' is always treated as 'Harpie Lady'!" rejoiced Percy, "Meaning 'Elegant Egotist' will work!"
On cue, Harpie Lady #2 and Harpie Lady #3 both materialized on the field, joining Harpie Lady #1 in posing for battle as a spotlight shined upon them.
"Let's give a big Battle City welcome to my 'Harpie Lady Sisters'!" The voice of Lady announced pleasantly.
Below the platform…
"Lady's got three monsters out!" exclaimed Skiff.
"Here it comes," thought Spencer.
Back atop the duel platform…
"And now," continued Lady, removing her three Monster Cards from Monster Zones on her Duel Disk, "I Tribute my three monsters in order to Summon 'The Winged Dragon of Ra'!"
'Harpie Lady Sisters' were absorbed into a huge, forming tornado. Everyone was bracing themselves from the surge of power coming from the tornado.
"She's an absolute fool," dismissed Dark Marik, "She'll never control the power of an 'Egyptian God' monster!"
Unfortunately for him, to his surprise, the Millennium Eye symbol was shown on Lady's forehead.
"What's this!?" freaked out Dark Marik, "She has some power infused into her soul? But who could-?!"
Looking off the platform, he saw Thomas's Millennium Puzzle glowing and a Millennium Eye symbol on the blue-haired boy's own forehead, which meant one thing—he was giving Lady the power to partially control the 'God' monster.
"Dammit! Thomas seems to be giving this girl the power to control the 'Egyptian God' monster!" thought Dark Marik furiously, "Now, she can control it!" He recovered and smirked again, "Or maybe not?"
"Come forth, 'The Winged Dragon of Ra'!" shouted Lady, while holding her card ('The Winged Dragon of Ra') up high before slamming it down onto a Monster Zone on her Duel Disk, "'God' serves me!"
A large light shined from the clouds as an object slowly descended. Everyone (except for Dark Marik and Lady) gazed in amazement.
"So pretty," whispered Molly.
"I'll say," agreed Mavis.
Suddenly, the crowd (as well as Lady, but except Dark Marik) gasped. When the light faded away, floating in the sky…was just a giant gold sphere of a sort.
"What is that thing?" asked Lady in surprise.
"That's 'The Winged Dragon of Ra'!" cackled Dark Marik, "It is currently locked within its Sphere Mode just waiting to be released by you."
"Sphere Mode?!" exclaimed Spencer.
"That isn't possible!" came from Thomas.
"But…how do I even use it?" recoiled Lady, looking up in complete shock.
Dark Marik never answered the question. He only laughed savagely at his opponent's predicament. Could Lady successfully tame 'The Winged Dragon of Ra', or did she make the final mistake of her dueling career?
Here's part 2 of "The Sun Dragon", featuring the first appearance of "The Winged Dragon of Ra" instead of the fake copy used by Odion. Stay tuned for the final part of the "Definitive" version of Lady vs. Dark Marik coming soon, and, as usual, stay safe.
