"Hold still, Mija." Camila said. "We need to make sure this looks good."
Today was the big day, the day Luz and Amity were going to get married, and the human witch was fidgeting nervously as her mother and Eda helped her get ready for the ceremony. She was wearing a beautiful black skirt that had artificial diamonds on it to resemble the stars in the night sky. On top of that, she wore a fancy tuxedo vest with the image of the full moon tailored onto the back, courtesy of Vee. Her side of the family overall were wearing similar attire, whether it be suits or dresses. It was the perfect way to represent someone who happened to be a werewolf.
In addition, her hair, which was now down to her upper back, was made wavy in appearance, and looked elegant like snow on the arctic plains. The same was the case with the fur on her tail. Eda had even put a bow tie on it for good measure.
The human witch sighed. "I can't help it, Mom. I'm getting married today. I mean, weren't you nervous on your wedding day?"
"Oh, wildly." Camila replied. "And don't even get me started on your father. He was sweating buckets that day. Now that said, being nervous about it the whole time isn't going to help anything. Just try thinking about Amity and all the happy years you're going to spend with her."
"Believe me, I am, and it does really help. I guess I'm just nervous about something going wrong with the ceremony."
Eda snorted. "Like hell that's happening. Your mom and I have had our finger on the pulse with this for months. And with Hooty and Anna helping as well, there's no way any screw ups are happening. And even if it does, who cares? It's yours and Amity's big day. There ain't nothing that's gonna ruin that."
The human witch nodded and smiled. "You're right. No matter what, this'll be something Amity and I will never forget."
"That would be an understatement." Camila said.
She then finished helping Luz with her makeup before speaking again. "Alright, that should do it. Let's look at you."
The human witch took a step back and showed off her appearance. She was stunning, and Camila and Eda couldn't help but shed some proud tears.
"You look perfect." The former choked. "I can't believe it. My baby girl is all grown up, and now she's getting married!"
Luz smiled while trying to hold back tears of her own. "Mom, you just applied this makeup. Don't make me ruin it."
Eda sniffed and held out her arms. "Oh, come here, Kiddo."
The human witch embraced both her and her mother in a loving hug. They stayed that way for a moment, but not for two long. After all, there was a ceremony to get to, and the most important person in Luz's life was waiting for her there.
When the trio parted, Luz spoke again. "I'm ready."
Eda smiled and nodded. "Then let's head out there and get this show on the road!"
….
Meanwhile in another room, Emira was applying the finishing touches to Amity's hair. The purple haired witch was just as nervous as Luz was, and just as beautiful. She wore an elegant wedding dress that Vee and Hunter designed themselves. It sparkled in a similar way that Luz's skirt did, and flowed in ways that made it look like a work of art. Her hair had also been made wavy, and flowed down her back like silk. On top of that, she wore a beautiful necklace that resembled the North Star. All of her bridesmaids had one as well. Top it all off with her makeup, and she was the most stunning bride imaginable.
"There we go." Emira said as she finished up readying her sister's hair. "You are as ready as you'll ever be."
Amity smiled as she looked at herself in the mirror. "Thanks, Em. It looks perfect. Heck, everything does."
"I'd have to agree. Luz better brace herself, or else she might pass out upon seeing you."
The purple witch giggled. "Nah, I think she'll be fine. Honestly, I'm worried more about me passing out when I see my batata. I have no idea what she's going to look like."
Emira giggled back. "Don't worry, Hooty has a good backup plan in case that happens."
"I know. It's just…I don't want to embarrass myself on my wedding day."
"You won't. Besides, you know how Luz is. Even if something does happen, she'll just brush it off and not treat it like it's a big deal, because it wouldn't be."
Amity sighed, but smiled. "Yeah, she does know how to make the best out of any situation."
Just then, there was a knock at the door.
"Come in." Emira said.
It opened to reveal Alador in a fancy suit with a huge smile on his face. "The ceremony is going to start soon, and I've come to walk my daughter down the aisle."
Amity smiled back and stood up. "I would be honored to let you do that, Dad. I'm ready whenever you are."
Her father stood there for a moment as he looked at her in her wedding dress, and soon began to shed happy tears. "Titan, you…you look so beautiful. I can't believe my mittens is gonna get married today."
The purple haired witch sniffed and walked over to give her father a hug, a hug he was more than happy to return.
"I know." She said. "It's crazy to think, but it also makes me the happiest witch in the Demon Realm."
Alador chuckled. "Just wait till you actually get to the altar. Then you'll be soaring in the heavens."
Amity pulled away and gave another smile. "Then let's go. I can't wait anymore. I want to marry the love of my life."
….
Luz's eyes widened in astonishment when she touched down at the altar. The wedding ceremony was being held at hers and Amity's special place, and Camila, Eda, and Hooty had gone all out with the aesthetics. The chairs all had covers on them with full moons for Luz's side of the family, and north stars for Amity's. In between the chairs was a super long purple rug that stretched all the way to the altar, almost like the red carpet at a movie premiere.
The altar itself had pillars on each corner with flowers on their tops, courtesy of Willow, and behind it was a beautiful banner that displayed a heart with the full moon in one half, and the North star in the other.
The scene was breathtaking, and felt perfect for this joyous occasion.
Wow. Luz thought to herself. When Hooty said he and the others would make it jaw dropping, he wasn't kidding.
She then smiled when she saw King wearing a fancy bow tie, which she found adorable. He was going to be officiating the wedding. Since he was a Titan, as well as Luz's adoptive brother, it was only fitting that he would take on the role to marry her and Amity.
He smiled back when he saw the human witch approaching and gave her a hug. "Hey! One of our leading ladies has arrived! You ready for the main event?"
Luz nodded as she hugged back. "About as ready as I can ever be. Titan, I've been waiting for this day for so long. And now that it's finally here…I'm shaking."
King chuckled as he pulled away. "I don't blame you. Honestly, I'm a little nervous myself. I've never officiated a wedding before."
The human witch gave him a reassuring pat on the head. "You'll do great, buddy. Just do what you did at the rehearsal, and you'll be fine."
She then sighed."Actually, I should be telling myself that too."
King nodded. "You should. At this rate, you'll cause an earthquake with the amount of shaking you're doing. In fact, that shall be my first duty as officiator. I forbid you from being scared or nervous in any way. I will not have it on your special day."
Luz giggled and gave a salute. "Yes, sir!"
The two shared a laugh before Luz took her place on the full moon side of the heart and turning to the audience. She couldn't help but smile as she did. All of her friends and family were there in addition to some citizens from Bonesborough, and Boscha gave her a thumbs up, which she was more than happy to return. Seeing these people reminded her of all the love and support she had in her life, and felt grateful for every last bit of it, for she was sure that she would not be where she was without it. But that was nothing compared to the love she had for the most important person in her life, a person who had not yet made her entrance, and now it was just a matter of waiting in anticipation until she arrived.
Thankfully, Luz didn't have to wait too long. After only a few minutes, Raine began playing a beautiful song on their violin, which was then followed by the bachelors and bridesmaids touching down on their staffs before walking each other down the aisle. Willow and Gus, Vee and Masha, Edric and Anna, and finally Hunter and Emira, the best man and maid of honor. They all seemed to be excited for the event as well, and Luz couldn't blame them. Once they all took their positions, there was a brief moment of silence before Raine started playing a different song, one that Luz knew all too well, the song of the approaching bride.
And then she appeared, causing Luz's brain, breathing, and heart to stop all at once. The only thing that didn't stop was her tail, which was wagging furiously. Thank titan there was nothing behind her to knock over.
Amity was like a descending angel as she touched down along with her father, and her beauty lit up the entire area. The smile on her face made it even more so as she looked at her soon to be wife. Her father stood tall and proud as he began to escort her to the altar. In fact, this was the happiest anyone had ever seen him. Then again, it was his daughter's wedding day, and that would make any father happy as a clam.
Finally, Amity reached the altar and took her place on the north star side of the heart. She then looked at Luz, gazing dreamily into her eyes.
It was only then that the human witch was able to reboot her brain and speak. "Wow, you are the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life."
The purple haired witch smiled widely. "You took the words right out of my mouth."
King cleared his throat before speaking. "Greeting friends, family, and citizens of the Boiling Isles! We are gathered here on this beautiful evening to witness the union of two of the greatest women I have ever had the pleasure of knowing, Luz Noceda and Amity Blight! As a titan, it is my greatest honor to be officiating this ceremony and cementing the love these two have for each other in the beautiful bonds of marriage! Also, please go easy on me. It's my first time."
The audience chuckled as well as both brides. King always had a good sense of humor.
He then took a breath before continuing. "The ceremony of marriage is as old as the Boiling Isles themselves, and allows two people to prove the love they have for each other by swearing their oath and dedication in the presence of the titan, who happens to be my dad. And while he sadly is not around anymore, I am honored to be acting in his stead, so that you may witness this beautiful event first hand."
His eyes then began to glow before several of his glyphs appeared in the air above both brides. He left out the light glyph though for obvious reasons. It didn't matter though, because the glyphs made the already beautiful scenery even more stunning. Luz and Amity then held each other's hands and looked into each other's eyes, waiting for the words that they had been wanting to say for months now.
King turned to Luz first. "Luz Noceda, do you take Amity to be your lawfully wedded wife? Do you promise to protect and love her here and in the afterlife?"
The human witch nodded without hesitation. "I do."
King then turned to Amity. "And Amity Blight, do you take Luz to be your lawfully wedded wife? Do you promise to protect and love her here and in the afterlife?"
The purple haired witch nodded without hesitation. "I do."
"Can I have the rings?"
Stringbean and Ghost then came forward holding a small basket. Inside were two beautiful wedding bands that were both purple in color. King took the basket and thanked the two palismans before presenting it to the brides. "These rings will be a symbol of the bond that you two share, and the undying love that you have for one another."
The two brides then took the rings out of the basket and held them out to each other. Luz was the first one to slip a ring onto Amity's finger. "This ring I give to you in token and pledge of my constant faith and abiding love."
The purple haired witch held back tears as she looked at the new ring on her finger, but quickly recomposed herself and proceeded to do the same with Luz. "This ring I give to you in token and pledge of my constant faith and abiding love."
King beamed. "Therefore, by the power invested in me, my dad, and all the other titans, I hereby pronounce you human and witch wives! You may now kiss!"
As if the couple needed to be told to do that. They immediately embraced each other with the most loving and passionate kiss that had ever given each other. It was perfect, and their happiness reached a peak that was beyond cloud nine. It was more like cloud ninety. Meanwhile, the audience roared with cheers as they all stood up and gave a round of applause. Camila, Eda, and Alador were sobbing uncontrollably, and trying desperately to dry their tears, though it was a futile effort. Emira and Hunter however were able to keep themselves composed enough to take pictures of the special moment, pictures that would become cherished memories for the family for the rest of time.
Luz and Amity then turned to the audience and held each other's hands in the air while King spoke again.
"Everyone, I present to you Mrs. Luz and Amity Noceda!"
The audience cheered even louder.
