Author's Opening Note: Well, here it is, folks. The very last chapter. It's a good thing I split the last twenty minutes of the movie in half, otherwise this chapter would have been over 20,000 words in length. Too much hassle. Once again, if you find any errors, let me know ASAP.
On a side note, I closed the one-shot poll; Resident Evil (2002) is the winner. I already have some ideas for the cast, but I'd like to hear suggestions if you have any for me. Please send them via PM.
Review Responses
nobodyknowsimarwbyfan: I could do a parody adaptation for my one-shot fic, though I'd probably choose something better than "A Superhero Movie".
Emerald-Stirling: You were right. I was originally going to finish the last twenty minutes of the movie, but that would have been around 20,000 words worth of writing. It would have taken too long. Also, thanks for pointing out that error for me. I fixed it.
NeoJay7: That's a good point. I could probably throw that into a past chapter in a future edit.
adonishernandez813: You're welcome. And thanks for the positive feedback.
dariuscrawford482: That sounds like a good idea for a one-shot. That car pileup or Nazi car chase would make a great adaptation.
Blackwing8: I agree. It's my favorite part of the whole movie. But, no, I won't be able to fit Jack-Jack/Adrien attack into the next chapter.
Warmachine324: You're welcome. But no, chances are I won't be coming back to write another full-length film multiverse viewing. I just don't have the time anymore.
julioczouwen: I'm definitely going to write a Predator adaptation. Although, introducing the Aliens in the one-shot fic will be tricky. But I think I can pull it off.
RedMist86025949: I'll probably write a TMNT adaptation in my one-shot fic. I like your suggestion for casting too. I'm not sure which version I'll write though.
Roy4: Those are all great ideas for a one-shot. And, yes, Qrow and Ironwood would be good candidates to play the main protagonist.
DragonKingDragneel25: I loved "The Fifth Element". I like your casting suggestions too, although I'd probably cast Jaune or Oscar as Korbin Dallas over Whitley. Thanks for the idea.
MichaelCross: I don't think so. Sorry.
Xenozip: You're right. I should add that to the last chapter. Thanks for pointing that out.
Guest, January 22nd- Thanks for pointing out that error. I went back and fixed it.
THEOWLPALADIN: I just saw Transformers One. I loved it. But I'll need to answer your questions via PM.
Creative Paradox: If I ever adapt the MCU, it'll have to be in one-shot format.

Open to the Incredibles running through the halls of Syndromes base. "We need to get back to the mainland," Mr. Incredible said.
"I saw an aircraft hangar on my way in. Straight ahead, I think," Elastigirl informed as she ran ahead.
"So, they steal an airship, fly back to Vale, and stop Syndrome," Yang surmised before nodding. "Sounds like a good plan. Elastigirl is a top-notch pilot after all."
Winter looked pensive. "I don't think it'll be that simple. Considering the distance from Nomanisan to Vale, and how much time has passed since the rockets launch."
Ironwood nodded. "Not to mention, an airship may not be fast enough. They'll need something faster."
The four heroes reached the hangar, but it was almost completely empty. The only vehicle present was a white RV sitting in the center. The family walked about cautiously, watching their surroundings.
"Where are all the guards?" Incredible wondered out loud.
As if in answer, laughter rang out, and they turned towards the RV.
"So that's why there was nobody watching the Incredibles in the containment room," Ren realized as he sipped some green tea.
"They're all celebrating because they think Syndrome has succeeded," Blake added, glad her counterpart was able to free her family undetected.
"Perfect," Clover smiled broadly. "They can seize this opportunity to escape the island."
Inside, a trio of guards were having a little celebration as they watched the Omnidroids attack on tv.
"Hey!" one of the guards laughed. "Every time they run, you take a shot."
Another guard held up a bottle of champagne. "Yeah, okay," he chuckled as he popped the cork with a smile…
Which immediately fell away when he saw Mr. Incredible standing in the door, holding the cork. With a smirk, he dropped it and let the door close behind him.
The audience smirked as well, a few even chuckling softly at the ensuing beatdown the guards were in for.
The RV shook for a few seconds from the commotion inside, then Ghira opened the door and leaned out to whistle to his family. "Go, go!" he barked.
The Incredibles moved on, looking around for any aircraft.
"This is the right hangar," Elastigirl confirmed, "but I don't see any jets."
"A jet's not fast enough," Ghira informed.
"What's faster than a jet?"
"Hey, how about a rocket?" Ruby called over as she gestured to a second rocket identical to the first one that had transported the Omnidroid to Vale and was prepped for takeoff by the looks of it.
"Great idea!" Oscar exclaimed. "That backup rocket will get them to Vale in no time."
"Yeah," Ruby smiled before it faded a little as she realized something. "But can Elastigirl fly a rocket?"
"Great!" Elastigirl beamed before deflating slightly. "I can't fly a rocket."
"You don't have to," Blake said, as she nodded her head toward the control panel. "Use the coordinates from the last launch."
"Yes! Of course," Vine gestured positively at the screen with a smile. "No need to fly the rocket when they can just punch in Vales coordinates and have it fly automatically."
Maria shared Vines smile. "You can tell Blake really inherited her mother's wits," she noted.
"Just like I did in real life," Blake smiled warmly. "My mother is an avid reader, and everyone always said she had the brains in the family."
Ghira and Kali shared proud smiles at their daughter's intelligence.
"Great thinking," Ghira praised. "You're gonna be as witty a hero as your mother."
"You bet I will…" Blake praised before correcting herself. "…I mean she will. You know what I mean."
Suddenly, though, Ghira frowned. "Ah, wait. I bet Syndrome's changed the password by now. How do I get into the computer?"
"Say please." They all spun around in alarm at a familiar voice over an intercom.
Behind the glass of the rocket control room stood a smiling Emerald with a microphone.
Ren looked skeptical "I know she released Mr. Incredible but is it wise to fully trust her?" he questioned.
Jaune nodded. "Normally, I'd agree. But they have no other choice."
"Jaune is right. If they don't take the rocket, they'll never make it back to Vale in time to stop Syndrome," Ozpin said wisely. "Emerald will have to be handled later for the part she played in her bosses plans."
Meanwhile, in his apartment in Vale, Whitley, dressed in a nice suit was putting some cologne on his cheeks while jazz music played in the background.
"Oh, that's right. I forgot Whitley lives in Vale," Winter said brightly before frowning. "Although I doubt that he can defeat the Omnidroid by himself."
"No, but he can delay it until the Incredibles arrive, or at least minimize casualties," Clover suggested an alternative.
Weiss swayed her head slightly to the music. "On the other hand, Whitley has good taste in music," she commented.
"And a good fashion sense," Yang complimented his attire. "I wonder what the occasion is for that suit he's wearing," Yang wondered aloud.
Soon, though, he noticed the Omnidroid walking right past his windows, while bullheads pursued it. He immediately sprang into action as he opened a drawer, pulled out a remote, and then spun around to press a button on it. The wall opposite to him the wall opened up…
…to show and empty display where his supersuit should have been.
"Huh?" Ruby, Nora, Oscar, and Marrow and muttered in confusion.
"Where's his supersuit?" Jaune scratched his head.
"Velvet?" he called out, noticing his suit was gone.
A female voice called back. "What?"
"Where's my super suit?!"
"What?" Velvet repeated.
Whitley waved the remote in his hand as he enunciated his question strongly "Where. Is. My. Super. Suit?!"
"I…uh, put it away," Velvet said awkwardly.
"So, she knows that he's Frozone," Yang realized quickly.
"It makes sense. They're married after all," Elm reasoned with a shrug. "Though whether he told her, or she found out herself I can't say."
Maria tilted her head. "But why would she hide it?" she asked.
Outside the window, the helicopter was sent spiraling out of control. Whitley turned around in time to see it crash and explode on the streets below.
His eyes widened and he backed away. "Where?!"
"Why do you need to know?!" Velvet asked suspiciously.
"I need it!" Whitley hurried out of his room and into another one, clothes thrown out of the doorway.
But Velvet wouldn't have it. "Uh-uh! Don't you think about running off doing no derrin'-do! We've been planning this dinner for two months!"
"Oh, so that's what he was getting ready for," Elm figured out. "It must be a first-class establishment if it took that long to get a table."
"Well, that's a shame, because it's going to have to wait," Ren said bluntly. "He's gotta come out of hiding and help save the city."
Whitley quickly checked the suits in a nearby closet. "The public is in danger!" he barked as he ran into yet another room.
"My evening's in danger!" Velvet retorted.
Ruby frowned. "Don't be so selfish, Velvet. There are people out there who need help!" she admonished.
"Yeah. You can always reschedule," Weiss reasoned, although she could understand why Velvet was upset.
Whitley leaned out of the room. "You tell me where my suit is woman! We are talking about the greater good!" he shouted before re-entering.
"Greater good?!" Velvet said in outrage. "I am your wife! I'm the greatest good you are ever gonna get!"
Whitley slowly peaked back out into view with a look of complete exasperation on his before shaking his head.
A loud chorus of laughter echoed through the theater while some of the women hoped they could use Velvets line on their possible husbands one day. Marrow even made a whipping gesture and sound with his mouth.
"It's times like that remind me why I never want to get married," Qrow muttered once he stopped laughing.
Winter rolled her eyes. "I doubt any women could stay married to you for long anyway," she muttered under her breath.
Outside, it was total chaos. A fuel-dust tanker driver stopped and jumped out right before the Omnidroid grabbed it. Terrified people ran for the lives as the robot lifted the tanker before throwing it spinning away toward a baby carriage.
"My baby!" a woman with glasses cried out as she quickly removed her child from the carriage and tried to run away, but it was too late. She fell to her knees, shielding her baby in vain from the tanker.
Gasps of horror filled theater upon seeing the mother and her baby in peril.
"Oh no!" Ruby and Weiss shrieked, the former reaching out at the screen.
Nora covered her eyes. "I can't look!"
But fortunately, the tanker was stopped in mid-air by an energy field surrounding it. Syndrome hovered into view with his finger outstretched as he held the truck in place.
"The supers have returned!" a bystander shouted in relief.
"What's he so excited about?" Marrow asked bitterly, crossing his arms. "Didn't the people of Vale want superheroes banned in the first place?"
"Not all of them, I doubt. But I'll bet anyone who called for the Super Registration Act are regretting it now," Maria said flatly.
"Is that Fironic?" a woman questioned.
"Fironic?"
"No, Fironic has a different outfit," another woman corrected the first one.
Syndrome waved off the guessing crowd. "No, no, I'm a new superhero! I'm Syndrome!" he declared before recklessly let go of the truck, letting it fall and explode behind him
Everyone scowled and glared at Syndrome for his irresponsible and sloppy showboating.
"That truck could have killed someone with the way you released it like that, you idiot!" Weiss shouted angrily.
"You know by now he doesn't care about civilian casualties or collateral," Blake reminded, glaring at the screen. "It's all about the fame and glory that comes with being a superhero, not helping others."
Jaune sighed. "If only they knew the truth behind Syndrome…" he muttered.
The Omnidroid began to approach, but Syndrome kept his cool as it reached toward him,
"All right," the faker hero pushed a button on the remote on his gauntlet. "Stand back!"
The Omnidroids arm stopped just before it reached Syndrome. It's claw then clamped shut, but Syndrome evaded the attack before firing a few zero-point energy blasts at the robot.
"Someone needs to teach this hunk of metal," he hit a button on his remote before fake-punching the robot's side, "a few manners!"
The tentacle closest to Syndrome detached from the Omnidroid and fell to the ground with a heavy thud. Syndrome faced the crowd again with his arms outstretched and let out a victorious laugh to bask in the attention.
Yang scoffed. "You've gotta be kidding me. Nobodies gonna be fooled by something that fake looking."
"Yeah. He barely even touched it," Ren agreed angrily.
"Perhaps a news crew recording this so-called 'fight' will pick up on that and realize something is off," Penny presumed in the hopes Syndrome's ruse will be revealed to the public.
But unbeknownst to Syndrome, the Omnidroid scanned its severed tentacle. The words "CONTROL STOLEN BY EXTERNAL SIGNAL" appeared in its POV. Processing this information, it looked up from the limb. "LOCATE SOURCE EXTERNAL SIGNAL."
Then the words: "SIGNAL SOURCE: REMOTE CONTROL" appeared as it targeting program locked onto Syndrome's remote as a new objective appeared: "DESTROY REMOTE."
With that, Omnidroid fired a plasma blast that detached the remote from Syndromes wrist, sending it falling to the street below. Startled, the villain turned around just in time to dodge a claw reaching toward him.
Penny gaped at the screen. "Look at that. Just Mr. Incredible said: it's gotten smart enough to wonder why it had to take orders," she pointed out.
Winter scoffed. "And the fool was so arrogant, he never bothered installing any safeguards to prevent this," she added, knowing Syndrome was in for it now.
"So now he can't control his rust-bucket anymore," Yang deducted with a smug grin.
Panicked and hopelessly outmatched, Syndrome flew into the crowd, shoving aside bystanders as he went while the Omnidroid continued firing at him until a bolt hit his left rocket boot, causing him to fly out of control. Syndrome screamed as he spun upward and towards a nearby building, hitting the side of it headfirst. He fell and landed on a lower rooftop. Groaning, he tried to get to his feet but fell instead unconscious.
"Serves you right, you hero-killing scumbag!" Nora jeered with a hand to her mouth.
"Don't celebrate too soon," Ironwood cautioned with a look of heavy concern. "With Syndrome out of the picture, the Omnidroid is unstoppable unless someone gets ahold of that remote."
"Well, then the sooner the Incredibles get there, the better," Jaune said urgently.
Off the coast of vale, a second rocket was quickly approaching.
"Thank the Brothers the real heroes are coming," Winter said gratefully.
"And it's a good thing Syndrome didn't get wise to Emerald's defection," Ironwood added. "Otherwise they'd never be able to use the rocket."
The rocket split open in mid-flight, but instead of another Omnidroid, there was a single RV hanging between the two wing segments.
Ruby and Blake were seated at the RV's table in the back. "Are we there yet?" the younger daughter whined.
"We get there when we get there!" Mr. Incredible grumbled in answer.
Mr. Incredible opened the driver's window, sending some papers fluttering around the rush of air, which the girls shielded themselves from it. Then Ghira called up, "HOW YOU DOING, HONEY?"
"DO I HAVE TO ANSWER?!" Elastigirl answered in a strained voice. She had extended and slid her arms and legs beneath the RV's roof rails to grip the aerial parts and keep it suspended in the middle.
"Jeez! That looks rather strenuous," Clover winced at Elastigirl.
Vine rubbed his own arm in discomfort. "I doubt I could pull off a similar stunt with my semblance," he said dubiously.
"Why the RV of all things?" Yang questioned before chowing on some popcorn.
"Well, there was no time to find something better, assuming anything better even was available," Oscar said with reason.
Jaune shrugged. "It's no Incredibile, but at least it'll take them to the Omnidroid."
Vale became visible; they were almost there.
"Kids," Ghira called back. "Strap yourselves down like I told you!"
They kids quickly ran to some seats on the side, Blake seated front of a small control panel, and they buckled up.
"HERE WE GO, HONEY!" Mr. Incredible shouted to Elastigirl before looking back at the kids. "Ready, Blake?" The older sister held her hand over a large button. "Ready? NOW!"
Blake hit the button, and the wings split apart. Elastigirl let out a tired and relieved cry as she let go, then slid into the passenger seat next to her husband. Now that the wings were gone, the RV began to plummet toward the city below.
Mr. Incredible stepped on the gas. "This is gonna be rough!" he informed his family.
Weiss blinked. "Wait…you they're going to…" she trailed off.
"Yes! That sounds awesome!" Yang hollered with a fist pump.
Jaune tensed a little. "That sounds really dangerous and reckless."
The airborne RV sailed over an outcropping, toppling a streetlight in the process, before hitting a highway going full speed. It bounced, then kept on driving, eliciting some angry car horns left in its wake. Luckily, Ghira maintained control on the RV and swept it smoothly around the other vehicles while maintaining its speed.
A few people sighed or breathed out with relief that the landing worked.
"It's a good thing he's got plenty of experience with high-speed driving with the Incredible," Maria remarked.
Mr. Incredible kept his grip on the wheel and drove steadily. "The robot's in the financial district. Which exit do I take?" he asked his wife, unsure where to go.
"Traction Avenue," Elastigirl answered.
"That'll take me downtown," Incredible refuted. "I take Seventh, don't I?" He began heading for the indicated exit.
Yang quirked her brow. "Seriously? They just pulled an awesome landing and now they're bickering about road directions?"
"To be fair, they did just land in an unconventional way, so they wouldn't know what direction their facing," Winter said with a sip of ice water.
"And they need to get to the Omnidroid as quick as they can," Penny added, sharing everyone else's eagerness to see the Incredibles battle the robot.
"Don't take seventh!" Elastigirl screamed at her husband.
And startled by the shout, the RV veered away and back onto the main road.
"Great, we missed it!" Ghira complained, trying to focus on the road.
"You asked me how to get there and I told you!" Kali argued, snapping a hand forward. "Exit at Traction!"
"That'll take me downtown!" Ghira repeated.
The audience couldn't help but bark with laughter at the married couple's banter.
"It's funny, because supers or not, they still have everyday life problems like that," Vine reasoned with a smirk.
"Taiyang argued with Rose and me a few times while he was driving," Qrow reflected on brighter days with a bittersweet smile.
Kali's eyes widened at the road sign up ahead. "It's coming up! Get in the right lane! Take the right!"
"We don't exit at traction!" Ghira shouted as a car honked at them.
"You're gonna miss it!"
Qrow leaned his head back. "Just take traction already!" he groaned.
"No! What if that takes them away from the robot!" Penny disagreed loudly.
Elm put a hand on her forehead. "This is ridiculous. At this rate, it'll take forever for them to reach the Omnidroid."
Mr. Incredible stared at his wife for a second before he spun the wheel with a shout. The RV drove down Traction Avenue, scraping against the divider. It narrowly avoided crashing into a bus and a fire-dust truck. Ghira then slammed on the brakes, sending the vehicle bumping into a row of cars parked on the right before it tipped over. Blake's eyes and mouth went wide as she let out a scream.
Team RWBY, Elm, and Nora all gasped sharply at Ghira's recklessness. Everyone else braced themselves for the crash, hoping nobody would be hurt.
The RV was still going too fast, and Incredible could barely hold it steady. He planted both of his feet against the brake, and the wheels screeched as the vehicle veered toward the left. It then tipped over and started rolling down the street. All passengers inside bounced around in their seats, but thanks to their seatbelts, they were more or less unharmed.
Finally, the banged-up RV rolled into an empty parking space, nearly falling onto its side before falling upright on its wheels, a few parts dangling and falling off.
Nearly everyone sighed with relief the Incredibles were all safe.
"That's not the safest or most conventional way to reach your destination," Penny remarked with her arms crossed. "Especially with children on board."
Marrow shrugged. "I've seen worse. At least he parked properly," he defended, drawing a few chuckles.
The parents panted in their seats. "Is everybody okay back there?" Incredible asked the kids.
"Super-duper, Dad!" Blake smiled in a dazed voice as she got off her seat.
Ruby giggled. "Let's do that again."
Ruby and Yang giggled. "Yeah, do it again!" the former called jokingly.
"No, Ruby. Never again," Blake chided Ruby's counterpart.
The parents both smiled in relief that they made it to Vale in one piece.
Just then the Omnidroid stepped into view directly ahead of them.
"Wait here and stay hidden," Incredible ordered his family. "I'm going in," he exited the RV and began to run towards the robot.
But Elastigirl extended an arm to grab her husband by the shoulder and spin him around. "While what, I watch helplessly from the sidelines? I don't think so."
Nora sat up straight. "Yeah, Ghira! She's been in the superhero game as long as you!" she reminded.
"Yeah, dad. Let her help. Besides, there's no way you can win this all by yourself," Blake stated bluntly. "You couldn't even beat the Omnidroid Mk.9."
"As long as the kids are out of the way, they should fight together," Ren suggested and agreed at the same time.
"I'm asking you to wait with the kids," Incredible implored.
"And I'm telling you," she walked up to him while the kids watched, "not a chance. You're my husband." She cupped his chin. "I'm with you, for better or worse."
Ghira gently pushed her hand away. "I have to do this alone!" He turned around again.
Kali was getting frustrated. "What is this to you? Playtime?"
Incredible spun around. "No," he said with a glare.
"So, you can be Mr. Incredible again?" she asked impatiently.
"NO!"
"Then what?" Kali inched closer to him. "What is it?"
Ghira gripped his forehead, trying to find an answer. "I'm not..."
"Not what?"
"You're not what?" Harriet threw her hands up in exasperation.
Jaune tapped his chin. "Not sure they can win this one?" he offered a guess. "Or not sure about the kids will be safe? I don't know," he finished with a shrug.
Ozpin sighed with sorrow. "I believe I know what's troubling him," he realized.
"I-I'm not strong enough," Mr. Incredible admitted in exasperation.
Nearly everyone flinched or went rigid as they realized what Mr. Incredible was trying to say. Anyone else who misunderstood just stared in confusion.
"Strong enough," Kali repeated, then huffed. "And this will make you stronger?"
"Yes-NO!"
"That's what this is? Some sort of workout?!" Kali demanded, her frustration boiling over.
Ghira grabbed her up by the shoulders. "I CAN'T LOSE YOU AGAIN!" he shouted into her face.
Kali stared back at Ghira in shock as he released her.
"I can't," Ghira murmured in defeat, his gaze lowering. "Not again." He peered up towards his wife to repeat. "I'm not… strong enough."
Those words made the theater go dead silent; the whole audience now realized what Ghira was feeling. And his words put a few of them in his shoes.
Jaune and Ruby lowered their gazes, trying to hold back tears as they looked back on that fateful night. When they lost Pyrrha...how they felt guilt for not getting there in time...
Qrow sighed softly as he looked back when Raven abandoned the team. Then he and Taiyang lost Summer. And how he hit the bottle to cope...
Finally, Yang rubbed her arm as she reminisced that one day she and Ruby nearly got killed looking for Raven. How she felt she failed herself and her sister. How she wasn't strong enough to fight of the Grimm...
Blake and Ruby stared at their parents from the RV their mother reached over and pulled their father into a passionate kiss.
Kali broke off the kiss to lock eyes with her husband. "If we work together, you won't have to be."
All the women and even a few of the men "Awww'd" softly, touched by Elastigirls words. Weiss, Blake, Yang, and Elm even shed silent tears of joy and relief.
"That's right...nobody should have to fight alone," Ruby declared.
"I don't know what'll happen," he fretted.
"Hey." Elastigirl grinned up at him. "We're superheroes. What can happen?"
Weiss wiped her eyes. "That's just what he said at their wedding. She's so supportive," she recalled happily.
"Yeah," Yang nodded with joy. "They make such a great couple." Then her eyes widened as she remembered something. "Wait...after Mr. Incredible said that..."
"Uh-ohhh..." Oscar droned slightly, realizing what Yang was saying.
Suddenly, Blake let out a high-pitched scream as and Ruby stared up in horror at something above them. Then one of the Omnidroid's gigantic claws came crashing down atop the RV. They barely had time to get out and start running before the vehicle was crushed like a soda can.
The audience's mood shifted to terror at the kid's onscreen peril.
Marrow facepalmed. "Now why did you have to say that Elastigirl?!"
"Yeah. They really need to stop saying that," Harriet grumbled. "Seriously, every time someone tempts fate in these viewings, something bad happens."
The parents tried to lead the kids to a sidewalk when another arm slammed down into the street, separating them. The robot loomed over the kids while Blake screamed again.
Ghira and Kali turned around to see their children's terror. "Blake! Ruby! No!" Kali screamed.
Ruby flinched as the Omnidroids claw descended towards her, but Blake managed to put up a force field in time to deflect the attack. The relentless robot struck the shield a few more times, but even as the road imploded beneath them into, Blake managed to hold the shield, but the force of the blows began to wear on her. Then the robot positioned its entire massive body above the two rookie supers, and slammed itself down on top of them, the force of the impact knocking them off their feet and finally bringing down the shield. Blake fell unconscious from the force of the impact.
Team RWBY all gasped in shock and concern for the now vulnerable kids.
"Oh no! Wake up, Blake!" Ruby cried with horror.
"All that force was too much for Blake to handle. Just like with aura; it can only take so much at once before it collapses," Penny noted astutely as she tensed up.
Ruby leaned over her sister. "Blake?" she fretted softly.
The Omnidroid lifted itself up for one more attack. Ruby threw herself over Blake's body and shut her eyes while the mammoth robot descended toward them…but then she heard a thud and a strenuous groan. She looked behind her: "Dad!"
Mr. Incredible strained with all four of his limbs arms and legs to hold the extremely heavy robot off his kids. "Go, go!" he grounded out.
Elastigirl reached underneath to grab a now awake Blake and quickly carried her away while Ruby followed.
Blake and Ruby sighed in relief. "Thanks for the save, dad," the former said.
"Now it's time for another final showdown!" Yang excitedly rubbed her hands together.
Nora did an excited double fist pump. "Ooooh, this one is gonna be good!"
With his family away from danger for now, Mr. Incredible re-positioned himself push the Omnidroid upward with his hands. But then a claw reached beneath to grab the hero and then fling him like a ragdoll into through an office building window, desks and papers thrown around by Mr. Incredible as he tumbled across the floor.
Blake winced at her father, even though his super toughness saved him from any injury. She knew he and the other Incredibles were in for the fight of their lives.
"At least that building was empty. Assuming the military gave an evacuation order, there's less chance of civilians getting caught in the crossfire," Penny noted positively.
"That's always a plus. I just hope casualties were kept to a minimum before then," Ironwood said, remembering the Omnidroid decimating the Valean armed forces earlier.
"I'm okay, mom. Really," Blake tried to assure her mother in a dazed voice as Elastigirl carried her to behind a nearby building with Ruby next to them.
Kali set Blake down. "Stay here, okay?" She ordered them before running back towards the Omnidroid, the kids looking after her but stayed where they were.
"Awww, why does she have to put us on the sidelines?" Ruby pouted slightly. "We did well against Syndromes goons back on the island."
"Those guards were one thing, kiddo. But that robot is something else," Qrow reminded before holding his thumb and forefinger and inch apart. "You and Blakes counterparts just came this close to buying it."
"Plus, it'll make it easier for Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl to focus on the Omnidroid," Vine reasoned, knowing as parents they couldn't fight and watch out for their children at the same time.
The Omnidroid walked up the side of the office building it had tossed Mr. Incredible into. Its visor peaked into the floor the hero was in just in time to see Mr. Incredible charging toward it. The hero tackled the robot with a shoulder barge, sending it crashing back down onto the street.
Mr. Incredible leaped off the robot and rolled onto the street before coming to a stop on one knee. A noise attracted his attention, and he looked behind him just in time to see a familiar face approaching.
"Frozone! Yeah!" Mr. Incredible whooped; his mood brightened.
Frozone skated on a freshly created sheet of ice past his old friend and toward the Omnidroid, which he quickly began icing over the Omnidroid's joints around its body.
"All right! Now they've got three experienced supers to fight the Omnidroid," Marrow whooped.
Oscar scratched his head. "How do you think he convinced Velvet to reveal where his suit was if he didn't find it himself?" he wondered, feeling the former possibility would have been difficult. [1]
"Well, whenever my dad had to cancel a date, my mom would make him set up dinner at an even better place," Blake said before giggling, feeling a little sorry for Whitley.
"Ghira!" Elastigirl returned to Mr. Incredibles side, just as Frozone was sent flying over them and slamming on the roof of a yellow car, bouncing off with a pained grunt.
Whitley and Winter winced in concern at the screen. "Be careful, Whitley," the former said. "You're not as durable as Mr. Incredible."
An angry Mr. Incredible turned around. "Hey!" But the Omnidroid hit him, sending him flying into the side of a building, and he landed and rolled across the road.
The Omnidroid focused on Elastigirl next, but she managed to swiftly elongate her legs to jump away from the robot's claw attack. The heroine reached and grabbed the side of a building before evading another claw attack that pierced the windows of the building.
Frozone then slid in and sprayed ice onto the claw to freeze it in place. The Omnidroid pulled its claw free and opened it to shatter the ice. The robot then turned its blaster onto Elastigirl, who stretched and nimbly moved down the street to dodge the incoming laser fire.
Qrow frowned. "I can't say the heroes are winning so far," he commented on the battle. "This Omnidroid model can fight multiple veteran supers at once."
Penny studied the Omnidroid closely. "Syndrome wasted no time perfecting this model by designing and building so many prototypes. He's perfected it this time," she said reluctantly.
"But it must have some weakness," Oscar reasoned, then he remembered something...
A dazed Mr. Incredible stood up from the pavement when something caught his eye. He picked it up while getting to his feet and examined it, a memory coming to mind: Back when Syndrome had revealed himself to his former idol, he had called off the Omnidroid by pressing something on his remote. The same remote Ghira was now holding. "SYNDROME'S REMOTE!"
Oscar's face lit up. "That's it! They can use that!" he exclaimed with hope.
"Yeah! Maybe there's a way they can shut off the robot with that," Nora said hypothetically.
"Let's hope so, because I doubt any of their attacks can cause any serious damage," Ironwood said doubtfully, remembering the Omnidroids immense durability.
Overhearing the hero, the Omnidroid's visor spun around to lock onto the remote, then Incredible's "oh-crap" expression just as he realized he spoke too loudly.
The Omnidroid smashed a claw on top of Ghira and began to pick him up. Mr. Incredible nearly dropped the remote but caught it and began desperately pushing random buttons until the arm holding him suddenly detached from the Omnidroid, sending him falling and shouting back to the ground.
Blake and Ruby witnessed this from their hiding spot. "The remote controls the robot!" the former quickly deducted.
"Good thing the remote wasn't busted when it hit the pavement," Jaune said with relief.
"No, but if the robot gets ahold of it, it'll crush it for sure," Ironwood said, knowing it was vital the heroes obtained the remote.
Mr. Incredible quickly got to his feet and started dodging the laser shots the Omnidroid fired at him aimed at him.
"Hey, dad!" Ruby shouted, and her father spotted her hopping up and down the other side of the Omnidroid. "Throw it! Throw it!"
Mr. Incredible cocked his arm back. "Go long!" He shouted before throwing the remote like a football far down the street, the Omnidroid's visor following it.
As did Ruby. She sprinted after the now midair remote even as the robot started firing at her with its laser gun, but the super-fast heroine in training dodged the blasts as she rushed past her worried mother.
Ruby looked conflicted by her counterparts' actions. "I'm sorry, Mrs. Belladonna...but I have to help. I can't just be a bystander."
Clover tapped his chin. "Well, as long as Ruby and Blake don't try to confront the Omnidroid up close, they should be able to support the adults," he advised on how the kids could help.
"Good thinking," Winter nodded in agreement. "Besides, they'll have strength in numbers that. They have a better chance of winning if they all contribute to the fight. Teamwork is the key."
Ghira threw the remote with so much force, it sailed across the water. Water splashed up from the energy blasts that struck its surface, but the swift little girl evaded the fire as she raced across the water, reaching her hands out to catch the remote. "Got it!" Unfortunately, as soon as Ruby reached the pond's edge and stepped onto the street, the Omnidroid blasted a car in front of her. Ruby yelped at the explosion and tried to rub back, but more lasers blasts destroyed a ring cars all around her. She was now trapped by the burning vehicles.
Yang and Ruby looked alarmed for the latter's safety. "She's cut off by the fire!" the former said loudly.
"Somebody has to do something and help her!" Penny cried in concern for Ruby.
Mr. Incredible noticed this as he ran toward the Omnidroid. "Honey, take out its guns!" he instructed loudly before a laser blast hit the ground in front him, knocking him back.
Still, Elastigirl heard him and quickly got an idea. She pulled a manhole cover loose with a grunt of effort, stretched out one arm around a streetlamp while holding the cover and caught the cover with her other hand like a makeshift slingshot. She aimed and let it go, and the projectile hit and destroyed the laser gun attached to the Omnidroid's visor.
Harriet clapped. "Great plan and accuracy, Elastigirl!" she cheered.
"With so many supers to focus on, it didn't anticipate Elastigirls attack," Clover noted the overwhelmed Omnidroid. "So now it's long-range attack capabilities are gone."
"So, there's still a few flaws they can take advantage of," Ren finished, his confidence in the heroes growing.
Meanwhile, Ruby was still trapped among the flames when Frozone's voice rang out. "Ruby!" The ice-themed hero entered the fiery circle to pick up the girl and place her onto his back. "Gotcha!"
With its weapon gone, the Omnidroid retracted its tentacles into its body and rolled across the pond with alarming speed.
The youngsters all whooped and cheered Frozones successful rescue.
"Nice save, Whitley!" Yang barked gratefully.
"You're lucky to have him watching your back, kiddo," Qrow said to Ruby, feeling Whitley was like a surrogate uncle to Ruby and Blake.
Frozone noticed the gigantic pursuer and quickly changed direction before the robot reached them, heading out onto the pond. His hands repeatedly slapping out to create an icy path for them on the water while the Omnidroid sprouted to its tentacles back out and leaped toward them with alarming agility. Both heroes only had a second to notice the Omnidroids jump before it plunged into the water, sending them both flying.
The robots impact created a big wave, but Frozone spun in midair to freeze it just in time, instantly turning the water into snow that blanketed the street. Ruby bounced onto the snow, unharmed. However, she had lost his grip on the remote, sending it clattering onto the street.
"Whoa! He just turned a big wave into snow!" Nora beamed.
Jaune chuckled. "I imagine he makes winters more enjoyable for kids by creating snow like that," he guessed. [2]
"I'd be more impressed by that feat if Ruby hadn't lost the remote," Harriet noted, focusing on the matter at hand.
Mr. Incredible spotted the remote and ran toward it. But Omnidroid spotted him too, and launched one of its claws at him, snatching him right before he could reach the device. "No!" Incredible reached futilely for the remote as he was thrown away.
The Omnidroid homed in on the remote. Elastigirl saw this and moving ahead of the robot while Frozone quickly coated the road in its path a thick sheet of ice, causing it to slip and stumble around. Elastigirl then stretched her body out from one lamppost to another across the street like a tripwire, sending the robot falling forward and crashing onto the street.
Ruby clapped, impressed. "Nice combo move. Do you think Weiss and Vine could pull that off with their semblances?"
Weiss shrugged. "Possibly. Maybe we'll find out one day."
But even then, it looked up and tried to out to grab the remote…
Only for it to levitate away. A brief, familiar sound scream was heard, meaning it was an invisible Blake now had the robot and barely dodged the tentacle attacks. Failing to land a hit on the unseen hero, and thanks to the loss of two of its limbs the robot lost its balance and fell heavily onto its side.
Blake turned visible again as she ran up to Kali, Ruby and a Frozone. "Blake!" Elastigirl called.
"Mom, I've got it!" Blake held up the device. "I've got the remote!"
"All right. Good going, Blake," Weiss said with a brief clap.
"Great...but how does it work?" Jaune brought up a good point.
"That's…a good question," Oscar said awkwardly. "How are they supposed to use that thing against The Omnidroid if they have no idea how to work it?"
Nora shrugged. "Start pressing random buttons and hope for the best?" she suggested.
Ren sighed softly. "I don't think that's a good idea, Nora."
The Omnidroid stood back up and began walking towards them.
"A remote? A remote that controls what?" Whitley asked, confused.
Blake began to push random buttons as the robot approached them.
Finally, Blake hit a button that activated rockets installed underneath the Omnidroid's claws, sending it flying flew forward and over their heads out of control.
"The robot?!" Frozone exclaimed as he watched alongside the others as the robot flew right into the side of a skyscraper.
Behind them, Mr. Incredible was struggling to free himself from the severed claw.
"It's coming back!" Ruby cried as the robot picked itself again and snatched the remote from Blake's hands and pressed a button.
That button only opened up the claw holding Mr. Incredible, causing him to fly up into the air with a yelp.
Blake flinched a little. "See? If you push the wrong button, who knows what can happen,"
Marrow threw up his hands. "Well, without the remote, what else can they do?" he asked, to which Blake had no answer.
Not noticing this, Ruby just said, "That wasn't right."
"Give me that!" Blake took the remote back.
Ruby fumbled for a solution. "Maybe… there's some kind of emergency shut down they can activate?" she offered.
Winter shook her head. "Given how arrogant Syndrome is, I doubt he bothered installing any such program," she said skeptically. "And even if he did...the Omnidroid may have grown past that programming."
"Then they have to destroy it somehow," Oscar concluded before looking pensive. "But given how thick its armor is, that's way easier said than done."
Behind them, Mr. Incredible got to his feet, looking down the street at the seemingly unstoppable robot. "We can't stop it," he muttered to himself. "The only thing hard enough to penetrate it is..."
Just then, he remembered how he defeated the Omnidroid's Mk.8; the robot had pierced its own body with its claws in an attempt to kill him. Mr. Incredible then turned to the claw beside him and came up with the answer. "...Itself."
"Yes! Of course!" Penny exclaimed. "Only the Omnidroids own alloy can pierce through it."
"So, how is he supposed to do this?" Yang questioned. "Do you think he can he just pick it up and slam it through the robot?"
"Given its size, I don't think that will work even with Mr. Incredibles strength. He needs to hit it hard enough to destroy its processor," Ozpin advised.
The other heroes were focused on the approaching Omnidroid.
"It's getting closer!" Ruby exclaimed.
Mr. Incredible picked up the closing claw while Blake was desperately pounding on the remote's buttons. "It doesn't work!"
"Kids!" Elastigirl scolded the girls just as Blake hit a button that activated the rocket on the claw Mr. Incredible was holding, and he stumbled around, trying to control it.
Ruby snapped her finger. "Here's an idea! Turn the rocket on that claw and launch it at the robot!"
Ironwood cupped his chin. "With enough velocity, yes, that could work," he agreed.
"And he'll need to aim it carefully," Clover added.
Elastigirl took the remote. "No, that's not it."
"It's not doing anything!" Frozone noted, none of them noticing what was happening behind them.
Harriet blinked. "Can they not hear him behind them?" she questioned.
"Not if they're focused on the building sized robot walking toward them," Marrow gestured at the screen.
"Good point," Harriet conceded.
"Whitley, try to buy us some time!" Elastigirl instructed her friend while she tried to figure out the remote.
"Try the one next to it!" Frozone advised as he skated up a swiftly formed ice ramp. He kicked his feet together as he was launched into the air, and a metal snowboard unfurled beneath his feet which he used to move much faster towards the Omnidroid.
While Frozone was forming a wall of ice to slow the advancing robot, Mr. Incredible struggled with the severed claw. "Honey!" the latter tried to get his wife's attention.
The Omnidroid swung a tentacle at the ice wall, shattering a portion of it.
Elastigirl pushed the top button, shutting off the claws rocket.
Mr. Incredible stared at the claw as he came up with a plan. "Wait a minute," he called over to Elastigirl. "Press that button!"
Overhearing him, Elastigirl hit the button she just pressed, causing the claw to start spinning rapidly while closed, like a drill.
"No! The other one!" Mr. Incredible told her. "Th-the first one!"
"First button!" she said, holding her finger held over the button Blake pressed. "Got it!"
"It's getting closer!" Ruby warned again, sounding scared.
"All right! Now hit the button and scrap that thing already!" Yang shouted.
Blake held up a hand. "Don't be so hasty, Yang!"
Frozone continued to form ice walls, but he didn't have the time to make them thick enough, and the Omnidroid shattered them with one hit from its tentacles.
"Look out!" Frozone warned loudly.
Weiss looked worried. "That's not going to hold it for long," she noted.
"Why won't they just let the claw fly already?!" Yang asked impatiently, overly eager to see the Omnidroid defeated.
"Because it's not close enough. If Mr. Incredible misses, I highly doubt they'll get another chance," Ironwood answered.
Qrow nodded. "Jimmy is right. With how quickly that thing learns, they've only got chance at this."
Elastigirl waved a hand at the kids. "Get out of here, kids! Find a safe spot!"
"We're not going anywhere!" Blake refused.
Team RWBY and ORNJ all smiled and nodded in respect for Blake and Ruby standing by their parents to the end.
"Such courage even against such danger. You two are shaping up to be great heroes just like your parents," Ozpin praised the kids.
"Press the button!" Mr. Incredible shouted; claw held at the ready.
"Not yet!"
"Kali!"
The Omnidroid broke through another of Frozone's ice walls.
"What are you waiting for?!" Ghira questioned impatiently.
"A closer target!" Elastigirl shouted back at her husband. "You got one shot!"
The Omnidroid smashed through the final ice wall; it had nearly reached them. Finally, Elastigirl hit the button. The claw then started to spin again.
"Everybody duck!" Mr. Incredible warned loudly as he released the spinning missile and fell back.
All of the heroes threw themselves prone onto the road as it jetted towards the Omnidroid.
The whole audience sat at the edges of their seats, inwardly praying Mr. Incredibles wouldn't miss.
Mr. Incredibles aim was dead on. It tore straight through the Omnidiroids armored chassis and exited out the other side with the power core embedded on it. It clattered against the pavement while the gathered super gazed through the sparking hole in the Omnidroid's. The Omnidroid slowly tilted over to its right with a metallic whining noise, and crashed into the lake, creating waves. Then, it exploded in a big, fiery explosion.
There was a short pause before the theater erupted with cheers and whistles at the hero's victory.
"They did it! They did it!" Nora cheered.
"I knew they would do it!" Oscar said loudly, as he clapped.
"Yeah! That was so awesome!" Yang exclaimed; her fists raised.
The heroes all braced themselves against the shockwave of the explosion but weren't harmed. Mr. Incredible straightened up, then he let out a chuckle and smiled at Whitley. "Hey, Zone."
Frozone laughed back at him, with a "I see what you did there" gesture.
Next cheers and applause surrounded the victorious heroes, and they looked to see grateful Valean civilians stepping out onto the street.
Meanwhile, Syndrome regained consciousness and to picked himself up from the roof. He looked down in shock at a growing crowd gathering around the five heroes. "Huh? No!" he snarled with anger and jealously.
"Ha!" Harriet barked at the screen. "Suck on that, you bastard!"
"Now that the robot is trashed, they'd better catch Syndrome before he slips away," Ruby said, eager to see Syndrome face justice for his crimes.
"Don't worry. The Incredibles knew here his island is. He can't just scurry back to his headquarters with his tail between his legs," Qrow assured his niece.
"Qrow is right. They'll catch him. For now, let them bask in the glory of triumph," Clover said with a pleased smile.
"Hey, did you see that?" an elderly man nudged another from the crowd. "Eh? That's the way to do it. That's old school."
"Yeah," Frozone agreed with a laugh. "No school like the old school."
"Just like old times!" Frozone laughed with glee as he observed the crowd.
Mr. Incredible wrapped one hand around his wife, "Just like old times," he said before slapping his friend on the back with the other one.
Thanks to Ghiras super strength, Whitley winced from the slap but straightened himself. "Yeah." He muttered. "Hurt then too. Ow."
Elm giggled. "I'll bet Velvet won't let him hear the end of this for a while though," she predicted.
Blake laughed. "Nope. Not until he makes it up to her," she teased.
The scene changed to the Incredibles getting a ride back to their house in a limousine with tinted windows.
"Nice. They get a ride back home in style,"
"They deserve it after a battle like that," Clover said.
"We've frozen all of Syndrome's assets. If he even sneezes, we'll be there with a hankie and a pair of handcuffs," Ozpin explained. "The people of Vale are indebted to you."
Ironwood nodded. "Smart move," he approved. "Now that the Incredibles know where Syndromes base is and testify against him, they can shut down his entire business."
"And Syndrome won't be able to use his wealth to bribe any corrupt officials he finds or afford the necessary legal counsel to get out of this," Maria added, smiling at Syndromes imminent downfall.
Yang laughed. "I loved that hankie remark Ozpin made."
"Does this mean we can come out of hiding?" Mr. Incredible asked hopefully while Kali was on the car phone.
"Let the politicians figure that one out. But I've been asked to assure you we'll take care of everything else," Ozpin gave his old friend an honest smile. "You did good, Ghira."
"Oh, come on!" Harriet rolled her eyes. "The politicians are the ones who made superheroes illegal to begin with," she protested.
"Well, perhaps this will convince them to change their minds," Ozpin said hopefully. "Or at least give the heroes some leeway."
"It should. After all, without superheroes, how are they supposed to stop supervillains?" Vine reasoned.
Kali was listening to some messages recorded on her number. "Hi, this is Saphron," the sitter Blake and Ruby had hired. "I have a question about Adrien..."
But Kali couldn't concentrate due to Ruby playing with the automatic window opener across from her. "Come on. We're in a limo," she sighed.
Yang smiled. "You and I did the same thing a few times in the car when dad was driving us," she said with a glance to Ruby.
Ruby grinned. "Yeah. We drove him crazy doing that," she giggled.
Meanwhile, Ghira smiled and looked at his eldest daughter from the side. "Hey, you're wearing your hair back?"
"Huh?" Blake stuttered briefly before stroking her hair gingerly. "Yeah, I just... yeah."
"It looks good," Ghira complimented.
Vi smiled at her father. "Thanks, Dad."
Ruby was still energetic. "That was so cool when you threw that car!" she praised her father.
"Not as cool as you running on water!" Ghira barked back with pride.
Ruby flashed a proud smile. "Yeah! That was the best!"
"You said it sis," Yang said as she gave Ruby a fist bump before holding it out for Blake. "You did good too grabbing the remote."
Blake smiled and gave Yang a fist bump. "Thanks."
Ozpin couldn't hide a smile of his own.
"Hey, mom!" He whirled on Kali. "That was sweet when you snagged that bad guy with your arm and kinda whiplashed him into the other guy. It was so sweet!"
"Honey, uh, yeah," Kali tried to gently shush her daughter while on the phone. "I'm trying to listen to messages, honey."
While Ruby went on, Saphron began to sound increasingly tense and awkward with each new message. "Mrs. Belladonna, it's me. Adrien is fine, but weird things are happening."
Beep.
Saphron's words elicited looks of confusion throughout the audience.
"Weird things? What kind of weird things?" Jaune asked with a hint of concern.
"Jack-Jack's still fine, but I'm getting really weird-ed out! AH! When are you coming back?"
Kali frowned at the phone, confused.
Just then, Ruby finished her story. That was the best vacation ever!" she declared as she fell with her back against the car seat. "I love our family."
"I wouldn't call this the best way to do it, but this whole adventure really brought the family together," Vine remarked with a pleased smile.
"I'll say," Maria nodded in agreement. "In fact, I think this whole situation with Syndrome truly helped form the Incredibles."
Weiss held up a finger. "One good thing he ever did in his life," she proclaimed.
Kalii was growing more concerned as Saphron's messages continued. She could even hear Adrien crying in the background. "I'm not fine, Mrs. Belladonna! Ah! Put that down! Stop it! You need to call me!"
Beep.
"I need help, Mrs. Belladonna!"
"Ghira, listen to this," Kali said.
Ghira frowned and leaned over to listen.
"I'm gonna call the police or someone...!" Kari cried over the message before it changed to a more relaxed final one. "Hi, this is Saphron. Sorry for freaking out, but your baby has special needs."
Jaune leaned forward. "What does she mean by that? What's wrong with Adrien?" he asked in alarm.
Penny cupped her chin. "Hmmm…I could be wrong, but I believe think Adrien just discovered his power," she theorized, drawing looks of shock.
"Penny does have a point. After all, the child's parents are both supers," Ozpin said, understanding the android's logic. "I suppose it just took time for his powers to manifest."
Ghira and Kali exchanged concerned looks. "Special needs?"
The limo came to a stop. "Here we are," Ozpin announced.
But the family didn't even notice as they listened to Saphron: "Anyway, thanks for sending a replacement sitter."
"Replacement?" Elm parroted, immediately knowing something was wrong. "What is Saphron talking about? There's no way Kali could have called for a replacement."
"You're right. She and the others were too preoccupied with fighting the Omnidroid and..." Oscar trailed off as the horrible realization came to him and everyone else.
"Syndrome!" half the audience said in tandem fear and worry for Adrien's safety.
"Replacement?" Kali repeated in horror. "I didn't call a replacement!"
Nearly everyone went pale or wide-eyed at Adrien's peril.
Jaune clenched his armrests. "If that son of a bitch puts one hand on Adrien!" he snarled, only calming down when Ren and Nora both gently placed placating hands on his shoulders.
Cut to the Incredibles barging through the front door into their house. Ghira was the first one inside and spotted Syndrome standing in the kitchen. They all gasped, but the smirking villain spun around and froze them all with his zero-point energy gauntlet.
Syndrome mockingly shushed them. "The baby is sleeping." a sleeping Adrien tucked in his arm before he gave a nasty cackle.
Everyone leered at the supervillain
"You took away my future," Syndrome snarled at the immobilized Incredibles. "I'm simply returning the favor. Oh, don't worry, I'll be a good mentor. Supportive, encouraging. Everything you weren't. And in time, who knows?" He leaned in closer to Adrien's slumbering face, his evil grin intensifying. "He might make a good sidekick."
"Like hell he will!" Jaune roared.
"Put him down, you son of a bitch!" Elm spat.
"You won't get away with this, Syndrome!" Ruby jabbed her finger at the screen, not caring how cliché her words were.
Finished, Syndrome threw the heroes through the wall on the right, then he blasted a hole in the ceiling, laughing triumphantly.
Kali got to her feet. "He's getting away, Ghira!"
Syndrome activated his boot jets and flew up through the hole while Adrien awakened after being woken up by the noise.
"We have to do something! We have to do something now!" Kali cried hysterically as the four heroes stared up through the hole to see a sobbing Adrien reaching for them.
They rushed outside just as Adrien turned slightly towards his captor. Then he suddenly burst into flames, surprising Syndrome.
Nearly everyone stared and gasped in shock at Adrien before calming down as they realized what the flames around him meant.
"Penny was right. The little guy does have powers after all," Harriet said excitedly.
"All right!" Nora raised her fists. "Break his legs, Adrien!"
Syndrome held the fiery baby away from him, only for Adrien to then suddenly transform into solid steel. The sudden weight of the metal baby sent Syndrome screaming and falling downward, straining to fly himself and his captive up toward the airship. That's when Adrien seemingly turned back to normal but shaking and looking furiously at a now freaked out looking Syndrome.
Weiss frowned a little. "So, that's what Saphron was going through. No wonder she was freaking out over the phone," she realized.
Elm winced slightly. "Jeez. The poor girl must have been put through hell," she said sympathetically.
Yang nodded. "I'll say. Raising kids is a hassle in itself but raising but a kid with superpowers must be so much worse."
"And my parents had to raise two of them already," Blake finished.
The rest of the Belladonna family was too far below to make out what was happening. "Something's happening! What's happening?!" Elastigirl frantically asked her husband, who had no answer.
Next, Adrien's skin and eyes turned dark red, his ears turning pointy, his arms swelled with muscle and sharp teeth sprouted from his mouth. The villain screamed in terror as the demonic-looking baby began throttling him, his flight path utterly disrupted.
The audience watched with a combination of amusement and amazement of Adrien's rapidly changing powers and his beatdown of Syndrome.
"Little Adrien is whooping Syndromes ass, that's what's happening!" Nora shouted with a broad smile.
"Yeah, Adrien! Teach him a lesson!" Jaune cheered his nephew on.
"How does it feel getting beat up by a baby?" Yang mocked Syndrome.
"We have to stop him!" a Kali shouted as she pushed Ghira. "Throw something!"
"I can't! I might hit Adrien!" Ghira replied, just as afraid for his child.
Demon Adrien was beating up Syndrome, tearing out handfuls of his hair, then climbed down his chest, giving him a kick to the jaw.
"Look how strong he already is as a baby. Just imagine how great of a hero he'll become when he's fully grown and trained?"
"He might become as great as his father in his prime," Ren marveled Adrien's potential.
Down below, his mother got an idea. "Throw me," she whispered.
Monster Adrien reached Syndrome's feet. He destroyed one of the villain's jet boots, causing Syndrome to fly upward and slam into the wing of his airship. The impact caused Adrien to lose his grip and fall, his body morphing back to normal as he fell toward the ground, crying.
Luckily, Kali thought quickly. "Ghira! Throw me!" she commanded.
Ghira complied, picked up Kali as she straightened up, and he flung her like a javelin towards the baby and she caught him. Adrien quickly calmed down and babbled happily as Kali set him onto her lap and she took on her parachute form to slowly descend to the ground.
Syndrome just managed to steer himself toward his airships hatch. He then pointed down threateningly at them. "This isn't the end of it! I will get your son eventually!" he shouted.
The whole audience stared hatefully at Syndrome for his monologuing and threats. They were all sick and tired of him. A few even hoped that Ghira would seize his chance and put Syndrome down for good.
Mr. Incredible stared daggers at his greatest opponent who had caused him so much trouble. He looked around until he spotted his new car.
"I'll get your son!" Syndrome closed his eyes as he finished his monologue with an evil laugh. He then opened them just in time to see and gasp at the car flying towards his airship. "Oh, no..."
Yang breathed out gratefully. "Finally, he shuts up."
"You'd think he'd learn to stop monologuing after the first close call on the island," Marrow scoffed.
"People like him never learn from their mistakes," Maria stated with disdain.
The car slammed against the front of the airship and exploded. Syndrome was sent knocked down and fell backwards until he landed in front of one of the turbines. Panicking, he tried to claw his way out, but his cape dragged him toward the deadly spinning blades. Then, with a snagging sound and a look of utter horror, the villain was sucked in.
"Oooooh!" multiple people cringed and groaned loudly at Syndromes fate, even if it was deserved.
"That was even worse than how Stratogale was killed," Harriet shivered. [3]
"Yet another victim of capes…just like my counterpart warned Mr. Incredible," Maria recalled from earlier.
Adrien giggled in his mother's embrace as they floated down, his eyes gazing at the fire cloud above them. "Look at Mommy, honey," she cooed to him. "Don't look down. Mommy's got you. Everything is all right."
Kali and Adrien hit the ground only a few seconds before all the debris did, destroying the house and creating a huge cloud of smoke.
Soon, the smoke faded away to reveal the Incredibles all huddled together, safe and sound inside a force field Blake had brought up. They looked around before Kali smiled at her eldest daughter. "That's my girl."
Ruby, Weiss, and Yang clapped for Blake's counterpart saving her family, the cat faunus beaming a little with pride.
"It's unfortunate that the wreckage landed on their house though," Vine muttered, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Does this mean we have to move again?" Ruby asked as she began to laugh, her family joining in.
"Oh, man..." the Incredibles all turned to see the boy on the tricycle staring in delight at them. "That was totally wicked!"
Harriet scoffed softly. "That was nothing kid. You just watched the very last scene."
"He should have seen the Omnidroid battle," Qrow chuckled with a sip of water.
Yang giggled. "At least he finally saw something amazing."
Sometime later, at Vale stadium, the stands were filled with spectators. Ruby was seen wearing a shirt with the number 2 on it and running shorts while she stood at the ready among some boys her own age at the starting line on a racetrack. Her family watched from the stands except for Blake.
As the PA started making announcements, Blake could be seen talking to a friend on the side. "Do we have to have cheerleaders at the track meet? I mean, what is that all about?" she asked.
"Well, I always thought it was more like a..." Blake trailed off as a familiar face approached.
"Hey," Sun Wukong greeted with a bashful smile.
"Hey," Blake smiled at the boy.
"You're, uh, Blake, right?" Sun asked, fidgeting slightly.
"That's me," Blake confirmed.
Blake's friend walked off, giving her a wave. "See you, Blake."
Blake smiled gratefully at her counterpart's friend giving her and Sun privacy.
"You look different," Sun pointed out Blake's new hairstyle
"I feel different," Blake added before asking, "Is different okay?"
"Of course it is," Ruby and Weiss said in unison.
"You look much better that way," Yang complimented.
"Oooooh, maybe that's what convinced him to talk to you," Harriet said teasingly.
"Hey, different is..." Sun began before clearing his throat awkwardly. "Different is great. Would you wanna..."
"Yeah?" Vi watched him with interest.
Sun began to fumble over his words. "Do you think maybe... you and I... you know..."
"Yeah?" Blake nodded.
"Do you..." he was cut off by Blake putting her finger over his lips.
"Shh. I like movies." Blake suggested with a grin. "I'll buy the popcorn. Okay?"
"Awww!" Ruby, Nora, and Weiss all cooed with joy.
Elm sighed happily. "Young love. It's so sweet," she said with her hands clasped together.
Yang clutched her chest. "My heart! It hurts from the cuteness!"
Blake blushed a little but couldn't hide a smile of joy for her counterpart.
"A movie." Tony repeated, sounding almost dazed. "There you go. Yeah...yeah!" His face lit up, then he realized the girl he "asked" out was walking up the stands. "Wait, wait," he called after her, "so, Friday?"
"Friday," Blake confirmed as she went to join the rest of her parents.
The starter pistol was fired, and the race began. Ruby started with a mere jog which put her at dead last. Her smile faded a little as she noticed his family cheering her on.
Ruby cupped her hands to her mouth. "Come on, other me! You can run faster than that!"
"Yeah! Go for the gold, sis!" Yang joined in.
But the rest of the audience looked a little concerned that Ruby's counterpart might risk blowing cover if she went too fast.
"Go, go, go, go, run, run, run, run! Come on, come on, come on, pick up the pace!"
"Come on! Run Ruby! Run! Run! Run! Go, go! Run, run run!"
Ruby quickly picked up speed, easily surpassing the other runners
But that made her folks concerned about Ruby breaking cover, so they changed their tune.
"Ah! No, no, no, no! Go for second!"
Ruby looked at them in puzzlement as she slowed down. And a man sitting next to them looked at them, confusion.
"Ah! No! Move back! Move back! Just a little bit! Don't give up! Make it close! Go for second! Close second! Close second!"
"Awwwww, can't I win first place just this once?" Ruby whined slightly.
"Ghira is right, Ruby. You gotta stay under the radar," Qrow advised his niece.
"Your uncle is right, Ruby," Maria agreed with Qrow. "Besides, you can always go full speed while you're in costume. Save your real speed for the bad guys."
Ruby understood what they were trying to tell her, sped up at the last second to make second place, much to her parents' pride.
"Yeah! That's my girl" Ghira shouted.
A mildly winded Ruby gave them twin thumbs up amongst her the far more exhausted competitors.
"WHOO HOOO!"
A short time later, the Belladonna family was walking out onto the parking lot. Ruby proudly held a second-place trophy while sitting on her father's shoulders.
"Ruby, I'm so proud of you," Kali praised her daughter while holding Adrien in her arms.
Ruby laughed. "I didn't know what the heck you wanted me to do," she admitted.
"They're all together as a family again," Blake sighed happily.
"Yeah. They're even happier than before," Ruby commented softly.
"And with Syndrome gone, they shouldn't have any-" Jaune began but cut himself off before he could tempt fate, attracting a few warning looks.
Suddenly, though, their family moment was interrupted as they heard a deep rumbling sound. It was like an earthquake, on a smaller scale. Next, they saw cars in the parking lot being thrown around like toys and people running away screaming. Then an enormous drilling machine burst out from the concrete and stopped in front of them.
A hatch on top of the vehicle opened up and out popped a mole-like man in a filthy overcoat, a miner's helmet and metal hands that held a microphone. "Behold the Underminer! I am always beneath you, but nothing is beneath me! I hereby declare war on peace and happiness! Soon all will tremble before me!" he announced loudly.
Yang smirked. "Not likely mole boy. You're up against the Incredibles," she doubted the Underminers chance of success.
"I suppose Syndromes appearance inspired some new villains to make their move," Ozpin assumed.
Ironwood sighed. "You were right Ozpin. A hero's work is never finished," he said, shaking his head in mild amusement.
The family stood staring at the new villain, then Ghira's eyes narrowed. He turned to see Blake, Kali and Adrien had already donned their domino masks. He then looked upwards to see Ruby had done the same. Finally, the camera tilted down reveal Mr. Incredible wearing his mask, ready to save the day, right before he unbuttoned his shirt to reveal the golden "i" insignia on the super suit hidden beneath.
With that, the film ended, and the overhead lights went on. The entire audience clapped and cheered loudly, some doing so while standing up.
Gold-Sith's shimmering blue image re-appeared on the screen. "I take it you all enjoyed that one very much," he smiled.
"You bet we did!" Ruby chirped before high fiving her team.
"I think that was the best one yet," Yang commented positively.
Marrow nodded. "Me too. It was as good as any comic I read back when I was a kid," he praised.
Gold-Sith nodded. "I'm pleased to hear that," then he frowned. "But I'm afraid that's all I have for now. In fact, it will be a good long while before I have anything else ready, if I ever do see you again." [4]
"Awww, that's too bad," Nora whined mildly, while a few other audience members looked disappointed as well.
"Well, in the event we don't see you again, it was wonderful knowing you Gold-Sith. And we appreciate you giving us the opportunity to watch the multiverse," Ozpin said gratefully.
"Yeah. These viewings were some of the best movies I've ever seen," she said sincerely.
"And we'll never forget you," Jaune added.
Gold-Sith smiled again. "Thank you for saying so. I bid you all a very fond farewell," he said with a bow and the screen flickered off.
Finished with the viewing, the crowd stood up and filed out of the theater, the overhead lights turning off once the double doors closed.
Author's Closing Note: Well, that's all folks. This is the last full-length movie adaptation I'll write. At least for a long time. I'm sorry, but I have to get my priorities straight and lately, work has been increasing for me. But not to worry. I have no intention to ever stop writing. My one-shot is easier for me to handle and will be ongoing for a while. And I have a proper fanfiction planned in the back of my head that I'm thinking about publishing in a few months. Thank you all so much for your positive reviews and feedback. It has all motivated me to write more, and I intend to until the day I buy the farm.
Author's Footnotes
[1]- To this day, I can't help but ponder this myself. Perhaps Lucius/Whitley had to promise Honey/Velvet a better dinner at a better restaurant to make up for having to help save the day.
[2]- I can picture Frozone creating mini snow days for kids using his powers like this, lol.
[3]- At least Stratogale went into the turbine headfirst. Syndrome went in leg first. Let that sink in.
[4]- Gold-Sith here speaks for me. If I ever do continue this fic, which I doubt, it'll be a while from now.
