Introducing Naruto
The air crackled with the remnants of a fierce battle. Fifteen years had passed since the Uzumaki massacre, and now, another tragedy unfolded. Kushina Uzumaki, her crimson hair stained with blood, was impaled upon the Nine-Tailed Fox's claw, her body slumped against her husband, Minato, the Fourth Hokage. They had given their lives to protect their newborn son.
Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage, arrived to witness this heartbreaking scene. His heart clenched at the sight of two people he deeply respected, their lives brutally cut short. He rushed forward to help, only to be halted by an invisible barrier woven from Kushina's chakra chains. Those same chains were also suppressing the Kyuubi, its form flickering with rage and exhaustion. Hiruzen marveled at Kushina's strength. Even impaled, weakened by childbirth, and after enduring the extraction of the Nine-Tails, she still fought to protect her son. The resilience of the Uzumaki clan never ceased to amaze him.
Lost in thought, Hiruzen suddenly noticed Minato performing a series of hand signs. He recognized the jutsu: the Reaper Death Seal. "He intends to seal the Kyuubi inside his son!?" Hiruzen mentally exclaimed. He tried again to bypass Kushina's barrier, but his efforts were futile.
"Fuin!" Minato roared, his voice strained. The Kyuubi's form writhed as it was rapidly drawn into the infant, Naruto. With the sealing complete, both Minato and Kushina collapsed to the ground. The barrier dissipated, and Hiruzen rushed to their side. Minato was already gone. Hiruzen turned to Kushina, her breath shallow and ragged, her life fading fast. He gently lifted her head, tears welling in his eyes. Her Uzumaki vitality clung to life for a few precious moments.
"Please..." she whispered, her voice hoarse, "protect him. He's a jinchuriki... his life will be very hard. Please... keep him safe. His name... is Naruto."
With those final words, Kushina breathed her last. Hiruzen gently lowered her head, his heart heavy with grief. He then turned towards a small podium where a blanket-wrapped baby lay, gazing up at him with wide, unblinking eyes. Hiruzen was struck by the infant's unusual calmness. Most newborns would be crying, but Naruto simply observed him with those strangely luminous, purple eyes.
Naruto's spiky crimson hair, streaked with strands of gold, framed a chubby face, typical of a newborn. Three whisker-like marks adorned his slightly tanned cheeks. With his red hair, he vaguely resembled a fox. But it was the faint purple chakra leaking from him that truly puzzled Hiruzen. What did it mean?
Cautiously, Hiruzen reached for the child. Naruto seemed healthy, aside from the unusual chakra. "I promise I'll look after him the best I can, Kushina," Hiruzen murmured, his voice thick with emotion.
As he held Naruto, a strange sensation crept up his arms. He quickly set Naruto back on the podium and examined his hands. To his surprise, his sleeves were disintegrating, as if burned away. His skin beneath was red and irritated. He glanced at Naruto, wondering if the Kyuubi was the cause.
With a sigh, Hiruzen formed two shadow clones. One collected Kushina's body, the other Minato's. Hiruzen himself held Naruto close. With a flicker of chakra, he transported himself to the hospital, leaving his clones to deal with the aftermath at the Hokage Tower.
Upon arriving at the hospital, Hiruzen immediately summoned his most trusted medic. A middle-aged doctor with greying hair led Hiruzen to a special examination room. Hiruzen gently laid Naruto on the bed. "I need you to conduct a thorough examination to ensure he's healthy," he said, his voice grave. "His chakra seems unusual, and I need to know if he's in any danger."
The doctor nodded and called for a Hyuga medic to get a detailed analysis of Naruto's chakra and internal condition. A few minutes later, an attractive Hyuga nurse arrived, her long black hair tied in a long braid, her Byakugan eyes calm and observant. She wore a standard nurse uniform. "What can I help with, sir?" she asked.
"I need you to thoroughly examine this child's chakra," Hiruzen ordered.
The nurse nodded and approached Naruto. "Byakugan!" she declared, activating her dojutsu. The veins around her eyes bulged slightly as she focused her vision. After five minutes of intense scrutiny, she deactivated her Byakugan, her eyes slightly strained from the intensity of Naruto's chakra. She looked at the baby with a mixture of awe and concern.
"It's astonishing," she reported, her voice hushed. "His chakra is incredibly potent. So intense that the small amount leaking out is slowly eroding the bed. Yet, his body is completely unharmed. In fact, it seems to be thriving. His bodily functions are enhanced by this energy. What happened? Is this a bloodline?"
Both the nurse and the doctor looked at Hiruzen, their faces etched with surprise. He sighed. "Promise me you will keep this a secret," he said, his voice heavy.
Both the nurse and doctor were taken aback but nodded solemnly. "Naruto is the Kyuubi Jinchuriki," Hiruzen explained. "He was made a Jinchuriki immediately after his birth. I suspect this chakra is a byproduct of that."
The doctor and nurse were stunned and saddened by the burden this infant carried. "Poor kid," the doctor murmured, and the nurse nodded, her gaze fixed on Naruto.
Unbeknownst to them, Naruto had been exposed to trace amounts of the Kyuubi's chakra from the moment he entered the womb, due to Kushina being a Jinchuriki herself. For nine months, Naruto's naturally powerful blue chakra had been subtly intertwined with the Kyuubi's red chakra, creating this new, intense, light purple energy that was dangerous to others but to which Naruto's body had grown accustomed. His very being, from his muscles to his bones, was saturated with this unique chakra.
"His muscles, his entire body, are operating at an enhanced level due to the constant flow of chakra," the doctor explained in a tone of awe. "I suspect that as he grows, he'll learn to control and regulate this energy." He paused, a thoughtful frown creasing his brow. "However, he'll likely be quite hyperactive. With this much energy coursing through him, he'll have an unheard-of level of stamina."
Hiruzen gazed at Naruto, his expression a mixture of concern and determination. "I will help you in any way I can, Naruto," he vowed.
Tension hung heavy in the air within the council chamber. Hiruzen, his brow furrowed with worry, addressed the assembled clan heads. "Thank you for coming, Honored Council," he said, bowing his head respectfully. The clan heads returned the gesture, their faces etched with concern.
"Where are Minato and Kushina?" Shikaku Nara, the head of the Nara clan, inquired, his voice laced with concern. The others nodded in agreement, their curiosity piqued.
Hiruzen's shoulders slumped. "I'm sorry to say, but they both lost their lives defeating the Kyuubi," he announced, his voice heavy with grief.
A wave of sadness washed over the room. Minato and Kushina were two of the strongest ninja in the world, respected and admired by all. The clan heads could scarcely believe they were gone.
"Now I'm about to tell you an S-rank secret," Hiruzen continued, his voice dropping to a hushed tone. "Anybody who leaks this will be executed." Hearing this, everyone gulped. This was a serious matter.
"In order to defeat the Kyuubi, Minato had to seal it away," Hiruzen explained.
Danzo Shimura, the leader of the Root ANBU, spoke up, his voice sharp. "Seal it into what? You cannot seal that much power into an inanimate object.
Hiruzen sighed. "He sealed it inside his own son, Naruto."
Silence descended upon the chamber. The clan heads stared at him, their eyes wide with shock.
Danzo's lips curled into a predatory smile. "You should give him to me," he suggested. "I can mold him into the ultimate weapon." Danzo wouldn't let this opportunity slip away. Naruto, an Uzumaki with Senju blood from Minato's side, was also the vessel of the strongest tailed beast. He had the potential to surpass everyone.
"Absolutely not!" Hiruzen roared, his voice echoing through the chamber. "I will not allow Minato's son to be turned into a lifeless drone!"
All the clan heads agreed, remembering their friendship with Minato and Kushina. They would not allow their child to be turned into a weapon.
"Naruto will be placed in an orphanage," Hiruzen declared, "to live as close to a normal life as possible." He chose not to mention Naruto's special chakra, knowing it would only fuel Danzo's ambitions.
"If that's all," Hiruzen concluded, "the meeting is adjourned."
With that, the meeting concluded, and everyone departed, leaving Danzo to his silent scheming. The fate of Naruto Uzumaki hung in the balance, his life forever altered by the events of this night.
The afternoon sun cast long shadows across the bustling streets of Konoha. A small, solitary figure wandered aimlessly, his crimson hair, streaked with gold, catching the fading light. This was Naruto Uzumaki, one of the last of his clan, a five-year-old boy with torn black pants and a dirty white T-shirt, his bright purple eyes filled with confusion and a touch of defiance.
He had been thrown out of the orphanage just a few hours ago, and the sting of rejection still lingered in his heart. Why does everyone hate me? he wondered, his small hands clenched into fists. Everywhere he went, he was met with glares, insults, or simply indifference. The lady at the orphanage had told him he was old enough and smart enough to look after himself, her words laced with disdain as she shoved him out the door.
Naruto had learned to be self-sufficient out of necessity. Neglected and often forgotten, he had resorted to scavenging for scraps in the dead of night, his stomach growling with hunger. He possessed a strange ability to sense the presence of others, a sort of sixth sense that allowed him to navigate the darkened halls of the orphanage without being seen. He had been caught once, the punishment swift and brutal. But to the horror of his caretakers, his wounds had healed within minutes. The adults called him a demon, their voices laced with fear. The other children, sensing his difference, labeled him a freak.
Naruto couldn't understand why he was so different. His stamina, strength, and speed were far beyond those of other children his age. He was always moving, fidgeting, his body buzzing with an inexhaustible energy that made it difficult to sleep. He had learned to walk and talk earlier than other children, his mind absorbing information at an astonishing pace. But none of this seemed to matter. He was still an outcast, alone in a world that seemed determined to reject him.
Naruto, his heart heavy with loneliness, decided to seek out the Hokage. He had heard stories about the village leader, a wise and powerful old man who resided in the tallest building in Konoha. Surely, the Hokage would help him.
With newfound determination, Naruto set off towards the Hokage Tower. He arrived breathless and anxious, his clothes rumpled, his hair disheveled. He approached the secretary, a stern-faced woman with a sharp gaze. "Can I speak to the Hokage, please?" he asked, his voice small.
The secretary looked down her nose at him, her lips curling into a sneer. "The Hokage will never speak to a demon like you!" she spat. "Get lost!"
Tears welled in Naruto's eyes as he turned to leave. Just then, a warm, grandfatherly voice filled the room. "What's going on here?"
Naruto turned to see an elderly man in long white robes and a wide-brimmed hat. He radiated an aura of authority and kindness.
"This demon scum asked to speak to you, Lord Hokage," the secretary said, her voice dripping with disdain. "But don't worry, I told him you had more important things to do than waste your time with him."
The Hokage's expression hardened. "Don't bother coming back tomorrow," he said to the secretary, his voice firm. "Anyone who treats a child like this doesn't deserve to be my secretary."
The secretary's eyes widened in shock, then narrowed with anger. The Hokage was defending this demon? She glared at Naruto, blaming him for her dismissal, before storming off.
The Hokage, his gaze gentle, turned to Naruto. "Come with me," he said, leading him down a long corridor towards his office.
Naruto, bewildered and hopeful, followed. He had never met the Hokage, yet the man knew his name. As they entered the spacious office, Naruto couldn't contain his curiosity. "How do you know me?" he asked.
The Hokage smiled. "I was great friends with your parents," he explained.
Naruto's eyes widened. "You knew them?!" he exclaimed. "Who are they?"
"I'm sorry, you're too young," the Hokage said gently. "I'll tell you when you're older."
Naruto, though disappointed, accepted this. The Hokage knew best, didn't he?
"So, what brings you here?" the Hokage asked, his voice kind.
Naruto shuffled his feet, embarrassed. "Well, I need a place to stay," he mumbled. "I was kicked out of the orphanage."
The Hokage's expression hardened. "What? Why?" he demanded.
"They said I was old enough to look after myself," Naruto explained, "and that I was a demon."
Hiruzen clenched his fists, inadvertently leaking killer intent. However, Naruto remained oblivious, his own potent chakra acting as a natural shield. Hiruzen took a deep breath and calmed himself, his gaze softening as he observed Naruto. The boy's clothes were worn and dirty, his movements fidgety and restless. His eyes darted around the room, unable to settle. Hiruzen knew this was likely due to the immense chakra surging through him. The poor boy was probably overwhelmed with energy, unable to control it.
"Okay, Naruto, I have an apartment available for you," Hiruzen declared, rising from his chair and placing a reassuring hand on Naruto's shoulder. With a flicker of chakra, they vanished from the office. They reappeared outside a modest apartment complex. Hiruzen led Naruto up several flights of stairs to a room on the top floor. Inside, they found a simple but functional one-room apartment. It had a bed, a small bathroom, a kitchenette, and a few cabinets and closets for storage. "It's not much, but it should be enough for you," Hiruzen said with a kind smile. Naruto, his face beaming with joy, hugged Hiruzen tightly. "Thanks, old man!"
Hiruzen nodded. Before leaving, he handed Naruto an envelope of money and a scroll. "Use this to buy necessities," he instructed. "I'll give you an allowance every month, don't waste it. The scroll is a surprise." With that, he departed, leaving Naruto alone in his new home. Naruto, clutching the envelope and the scroll, felt a warmth spread through him. For the first time in a long time, he felt a glimmer of hope.
Hiruzen had fired all the staff at the orphanage and hired more reliable people to run it. Naruto eagerly opened the scroll soon after Hiruzen left. The contents of the scroll surprised him. There were various books on chakra, ninja history, the basics of fuinjutsu, as well as taijutsu and a training manual. A note on the scroll instructed him to perform the training workout before reading the books, suggesting that exhausting some of his chakra would help him focus. Unbeknownst to Naruto, these were all Uzumaki clan possessions.
Remembering a clearing where he had sensed others training while he was still at the orphanage, Naruto ran out of his apartment and headed there. Upon reaching the clearing, he followed the scroll's instructions and started stretching to warm up. He then unfurled a scroll labeled 'calisthenics.' "What does that mean?" he wondered, opening the scroll to read...
"Calisthenics is the art of using one's own body weight as resistance," the scroll explained. "It is an effective method for building strength, enhancing body control, and developing awareness."
Naruto decided to run laps for speed before starting the calisthenics routine, continuing for three hours until he felt sufficiently warmed up. He then launched into the basic calisthenics routine, which consisted of sets of pushups, squats, and rows using low-hanging tree branches. As instructed by the scroll, he performed each repetition with explosive power, maximizing his strength gains.
A few hours later, drenched in sweat and exhausted but exhilarated, Naruto completed his workout. He had always dreamed of becoming a ninja, and he was determined to take his training seriously.
Exhausted but satisfied, Naruto stumbled back to his apartment. After a refreshing shower and a dinner of instant ramen, he settled down to read the books. He started with the fuinjutsu book, and as soon as he opened it, he was captivated. The concepts seemed to resonate with him on a deep level, as if he were unlocking a hidden language within himself. The possibilities of fuinjutsu fascinated him, and he resolved to master this art. Hours later, he moved on to the book on chakra, eager to understand the foundation of all ninja abilities. He was enthralled by the descriptions of chakra manipulation and the incredible feats it could enable.
He reached the section on unlocking chakra but decided it was too late to attempt the exercises. It was time for bed. He closed the book, switched off the light, and drifted into a deep sleep. Unlike previous nights, his chakra remained contained, its energy focused on healing his tired muscles and rebuilding them, stronger than before.
Naruto awoke early the next day and, after his morning routine, dressed in the new training clothes he found in his closet: black training pants, a black top, and standard ninja sandals. The Hokage must have left them for him. After a quick breakfast, he headed back to the training ground.
He stretched, ran laps, and completed his calisthenics routine. Once finished, he pulled out his book on chakra and sat beneath a shaded tree. He reread the section on unlocking chakra, focusing on the instructions to feel deep within and draw the energy to the surface.
Naruto walked to the middle of the clearing, sat down, and closed his eyes. He focused his senses inward, searching for the warmth the book described. He found it, a subtle warmth deep within his core. He grasped it, gently at first, then with growing confidence, pulling it towards the surface.
Suddenly, his body erupted with an intense surge of light purple chakra. The ground beneath him cracked and cratered under the force of the energy. A whirlwind of purple chakra enveloped him, swirling and crackling with power. After a few minutes, the maelstrom subsided, and Naruto opened his eyes.
To his surprise, Hiruzen was standing nearby, observing him with wide eyes. The Hokage had sensed the massive surge of chakra, unlike anything he had ever encountered. To discover that it originated from Naruto, a five-year-old boy, was astonishing.
"Were you unlocking your chakra?" Hiruzen asked, his voice filled with wonder.
"Yeah, old man," Naruto replied, grinning. "I wanted to unlock it so I could learn fuinjutsu!"
Hiruzen nodded, accepting his answer. "Well, a piece of advice," he offered. "You should also begin chakra control training. With the amount of chakra you possess, control will be your biggest challenge."
Naruto thanked him for the advice. Hiruzen then left Naruto to his training.
Naruto continued reading and discovered some chakra control exercises. The first was tree walking. After reviewing the instructions, he approached a tree, channeled chakra to his feet, and ran towards it. He managed a few steps up the trunk before the bark exploded outward, sending him tumbling to the ground.
"Man, this is hard," he muttered, rubbing his sore back. "But I'm not giving up!"
He got up and tried again, and again, and again. He fell repeatedly, but each time, he got a little further. By late afternoon, he had managed to reach halfway up the tree before his chakra faltered. Satisfied with his progress, he headed home, eager to delve back into the world of fuinjutsu.
Back in his apartment, he unfurled the fuinjutsu scroll once more. This time, he noticed a kanji etched at the bottom. Curious, he channeled chakra into it, and with a puff of smoke, a blank scroll, a brush, and an inkstone materialized. "This must be a calligraphy set for practice," he thought. He decided to practice the basic kanji, focusing on improving his handwriting. As he carefully formed the characters, he felt a sense of peace settle over him. He was finally on the path to becoming a ninja, and he couldn't wait to see what the future held.
One year had passed, and a new generation was rising in Konoha. Naruto, now six years old, continued his rigorous training regimen, pushing his physical and mental limits. His daily calisthenics routine had become more demanding, incorporating variations of pushups, squats, rows, dips, and pull-ups. He sprinted tirelessly through the village, his speed and agility increasing with each passing day.
Hiruzen, ever watchful, observed Naruto's progress through his crystal ball. To aid the young boy's training, he commissioned Tenzo, one of his most trusted ANBU, to construct a calisthenics park using his Wood Style. The park became Naruto's new training ground, where he honed his body into a lean and powerful machine.
Naruto's dedication extended beyond physical conditioning. He diligently practiced chakra control, mastering the art of tree walking and water walking. He could now regulate the flow of his immense chakra, somewhat mitigating his hyperactivity. His greatest pride, however, lay in his burgeoning mastery of fuinjutsu. He crafted his own storage and explosive tags, his mind brimming with ideas for modifications and innovations. He envisioned explosive tags that released shrapnel upon detonation, ensuring maximum damage even if the initial blast was avoided.
As Naruto walked home one evening, he contemplated his training. He sought ways to further challenge himself physically and expand his arsenal. He needed to increase the resistance in his calisthenics training and acquire shuriken and kunai for practice. He also needed to find a taijutsu style that suited his strengths.
Upon returning to his apartment, Naruto eagerly unfurled the scrolls, seeking answers. He found a taijutsu style called Uzuken, or Whirlpool Fist, a dynamic and versatile style that emphasized speed, agility, and knowledge of the human body. The techniques were acrobatic and aimed to exploit an opponent's weaknesses, incorporating throws, joint locks, and slams. Naruto realized he needed to increase his strength to effectively execute the slams and throws.
He found another scroll detailing weighted calisthenics, the practice of adding external weight for increased resistance. The scroll introduced him to gravity seals, special seals that could manipulate the gravitational force on the wearer. These seals were ideal for enhancing both strength and speed.
Excited by the prospect of gravity seals, Naruto turned to his fuinjutsu book and diligently practiced the complex kanji for the seal. Once he felt confident in his calligraphy, he needed a way to apply the seal to himself. He recalled witnessing a white-haired ANBU creating a shadow clone and decided to try it himself.
He unsealed his scroll of ninjutsu techniques and located the Shadow Clone Jutsu. The scroll warned that this technique was forbidden for most due to its high chakra cost, but Naruto, with his immense reserves, was undeterred. He practiced the single cross hand sign required, and soon, his room was filled with shadow clones. He dispelled all but one and instructed it to inscribe the gravity seal on his back.
The clone followed his command, and Naruto immediately felt the increased weight. It was exactly what he needed. He decided to wear the seal at all times, only deactivating it when he slept.
With his taijutsu and calisthenics challenges addressed, Naruto turned his attention to acquiring shuriken and kunai. He couldn't purchase them from any stores, so he resolved to find discarded ones. Expanding his senses, he located several training grounds and dispatched his clones to search for usable weapons. After an hour, they returned with a collection of shuriken, kunai, and even some senbon needles.
As the day drew to a close, Naruto enjoyed a dinner of instant ramen, his mind buzzing with anticipation for the training. He was determined to become a powerful shinobi, and with each passing day, he was one step closer to achieving his dream.
Another year had passed since Naruto began his shinobi training, and the once small, lonely boy was now a formidable seven-year-old. He trained relentlessly alongside his twenty-five shadow clones, pushing his physical and mental limits. The real Naruto focused on his physical workouts, while his clones honed their taijutsu, delved deeper into fuinjutsu, practiced chakra control, and absorbed knowledge from various scrolls.
Naruto had mastered the basic katas of the Uzuken style and was now practicing the intermediate forms, incorporating throws, joint locks, and slams. His unpredictable nature made him a natural fit for this dynamic and versatile taijutsu. His clones had also invented several new seals, including explosive shrapnel tags and flashbangs. They explored advanced sealing placement like seal carving and chakra sealing, expanding their repertoire. Naruto's chakra control had improved significantly, allowing him to perform tree walking and water walking exercises while sparring with his clones. He even managed to further regulate the flow of his immense chakra, further mitigating his hyperactivity.
One afternoon, as Naruto completed his calisthenics routine, he sensed three chakra signatures observing him. They emitted no discernible emotions, and since they didn't attack, he dismissed them and continued his training. However, as he released his clones and experienced a moment of disorientation from the influx of shared experiences, the hidden ninja seized their opportunity.
Three ANBU, their faces hidden behind blank masks, emerged from the shadows and launched a surprise attack. Shuriken whirred through the air, glinting menacingly in the afternoon sun. Naruto, his senses honed by a year of intense training, reacted instantly. He dropped to the ground, narrowly evading the deadly projectiles as they embedded themselves in the tree trunk behind him. He looked up to see the three ANBU, their figures radiating a hostile intent that sent a shiver down his spine. He recognized the attackers as ANBU, but something felt amiss. "These can't be old man Hiruzen's men," he thought. "They don't feel right."
"Who are you?" Naruto demanded, his voice filled with a mixture of defiance and apprehension. "And why are you attacking me?"
The ANBU responded with a swift and coordinated assault. The middle one lunged forward, a blur of motion, his fist aimed at Naruto's head. Naruto ducked under the punch and retaliated with a lightning-fast kick to the ANBU's exposed ribs. The ANBU grunted, stumbling backward. Before he could recover, another ANBU closed in, his leg sweeping low in an attempt to trip Naruto. Naruto, anticipating the move, leaped over the sweeping leg, using it as a springboard to propel himself away from the third ANBU who was charging towards him with a kunai drawn.
Naruto landed nimbly on his feet, his eyes darting between his attackers. He recognized the skill and precision of their movements. These were no ordinary ANBU. They were clearly testing him, pushing him to his limits.
One of the ANBU feinted a punch, drawing Naruto's attention. As Naruto reacted, the second ANBU swept his leg, sending Naruto tumbling to the ground. But Naruto was already prepared. He planted his hands on the earth, channeling chakra to enhance his strength, and executed a double mule kick, his legs striking out with surprising force. The ANBU, caught off guard, managed to block the attack but was still sent skidding backward.
Naruto sprang to his feet and charged towards one of the ANBU. As he closed in, he slid under the ANBU's guard, aiming for a leg sweep. But the ANBU anticipated the move and delivered a swift kick to Naruto's stomach, sending him flying towards another attacker. Naruto, his body twisting in mid-air, managed to deflect the incoming punch with a well-timed block, but the force of the blow sent him rolling across the ground.
As he rolled, Naruto subtly wove a hand sign, activating a gravity seal he had placed on the first ANBU's leg during his earlier maneuver. The ANBU, his movements suddenly hampered by the increased gravity, stumbled, leaving him open to Naruto's counterattack. Naruto launched himself into a backflip, his foot connecting with the ANBU's chin with a sickening crunch. He deactivated the gravity seal just before impact, sending the ANBU flying through the air like a ragdoll.
Naruto then summoned a shadow clone directly above the airborne ANBU. The clone, mirroring Naruto's movements, performed a devastating dropkick, driving the ANBU back towards the earth with bone-jarring force. Naruto leaped upwards, intercepting his falling clone, and with a powerful spin, hurled it towards the remaining two ANBU like a human projectile. The clone, embedded with an exploding tag, detonated on impact, engulfing the two ANBU in a fiery explosion.
Naruto, using the distraction to his advantage, backflipped away, creating distance between himself and his opponents. He observed the ANBU, noting their singed clothing and minor burns. They were clearly holding back, but their frustration was evident. The ANBU in the middle, his face contorted with a mixture of anger and surprise, began weaving a series of hand signs. The other two ANBU vanished, their movements too swift for Naruto to follow.
Naruto's eyes widened in surprise. He had never seen anyone perform jutsu other than himself and his clones. The ANBU completed his hand signs and unleashed a massive fireball from his mouth, engulfing Naruto in a searing inferno. Naruto, his reflexes honed by countless hours of training, reacted instantly. He performed a series of acrobatic flips, narrowly evading the flames as they scorched the ground around him.
As soon as he landed, one of the vanished ANBU reappeared beside him, delivering a vicious kick to his ribs. Naruto cried out in pain, clutching his side. "Damn, that hurt," he muttered, his breath catching in his throat.
He and the ANBU engaged in a fierce taijutsu exchange, their fists and feet a blur of motion. Naruto, remembering his training, focused his attacks on the ANBU's leg, delivering a series of precisely targeted kicks. The ANBU, initially confused by this strategy, gradually realized Naruto's intent. With each kick, his leg grew weaker, his movements slower.
Naruto, sensing his opponent's vulnerability, dropped the gravity seal on himself, his speed increasing dramatically. He vanished from sight, reappearing in a low crouch behind the ANBU. Before the ANBU could react, Naruto delivered a sharp elbow strike to his kidney, a pinpoint attack that sent a jolt of pain through the ANBU's body.
The ANBU staggered, his vision blurring. He collapsed to one knee, his body shutting down in response to the intense pain. Naruto, seeing his opportunity, rushed forward, only to be intercepted by the remaining two ANBU, who had finally shed their restraint.
They moved with a speed that defied perception, their attacks relentless and overwhelming. Naruto, exhausted from his previous exertions, struggled to keep up. One ANBU grabbed him, throwing him bodily towards his comrade. Naruto twisted in mid-air, attempting a spinning kick, but the ANBU caught his leg and hurled him against a tree trunk.
The impact knocked the wind out of Naruto. Before he could recover, the two ANBU unleashed a devastating combination attack. Wind and fire chakra swirled together, forming a vortex of destructive energy that engulfed Naruto. He leaped away, but the flames licked at his leg, searing his flesh.
"Aaahhhh!" Naruto screamed in pain as he crashed to the ground. He was exhausted, his body battered and bruised. This was his first real battle, and the intensity was taking its toll.
He saw the two ANBU approaching, their swords drawn, their eyes filled with a cold determination. "Dammit, will I die here?" he thought desperately. "Before achieving my dream of being the strongest? No, I won't let that happen!"
As if responding to his fierce will to survive, Naruto's chakra surged uncontrollably. With a scream of exertion, dozens of light purple chakra chains erupted from his body, impaling trees, scarring the ground, and ensnaring the ANBU in a non-lethal but immobilizing bind.
The ANBU, recognizing the power they faced, retreated, carrying their injured comrade. Naruto, overwhelmed by the adrenaline and the sudden awakening of his bloodline, collapsed unconscious.
Hiruzen, alerted by the massive chakra surge, arrived at the scene with a dozen ANBU. They surveyed the devastation with surprise, noting the scorched earth, the scarred trees, and the intricate web of chakra chains that were protecting Naruto. As they approached, the chains retreated, revealing an unconscious Naruto.
Hiruzen gently lifted the boy and, sensing that he was merely exhausted, returned to the Hokage Tower with him. He had much to discuss with Naruto.
Deep within a hidden bunker, shrouded in shadows, three ANBU knelt before their master, Danzo Shimura. Their bodies bore the marks of battle, bandages covering various wounds. Danzo, his one visible eye gleaming with curiosity, observed his subordinates.
"Report," he commanded, his voice sharp and authoritative.
The ANBU in the middle, his voice steady despite his injuries, began his account. "The weapon exceeded our expectations, Lord Danzo. Though his jutsu repertoire seems limited at present, his shadow clones, combined with his taijutsu, fuinjutsu, and quick thinking, presented a significant challenge. He is remarkably fast and agile for his age, his strikes precise and targeted. He demonstrates impressive tactical thinking and resilience, withstanding a considerable amount of damage. However, his inexperience is evident in his tendency to overextend himself and leave openings in his defense. He also awakened the Chakra Forging bloodline of the Uzumaki clan towards the end of the engagement, ensnaring us with his chakra chains. However, he immediately lost consciousness, allowing us to escape. Overall, I would assess his current strength and skill to be that of a mid-to-upper chunin."
Danzo's lips curled into a satisfied smirk. While achieving chunin-level strength might not seem extraordinary for an average shinobi, this seven-year-old boy had been training independently for only two years. It was an impressive feat, a testament to the latent potential of the Uzumaki bloodline.
"Hmm," Danzo mused, stroking his chin thoughtfully. "Continue to observe him, but do not engage further. Dismissed."
The ANBU vanished in a swirl of leaves, leaving Danzo alone with his thoughts. He pondered the possibilities, his mind racing with schemes and strategies. This young Uzumaki, with his exceptional abilities and untapped potential, could become a valuable asset... or a formidable threat. Danzo, ever the pragmatist, would watch and wait, biding his time until the opportune moment to act.
Hiruzen watched as Naruto slowly regained consciousness. The boy looked around in confusion, his brow furrowed as he tried to make sense of his surroundings. After a few moments, his gaze settled on Hiruzen, and a small smile spread across his face.
"Hey, old man," Naruto greeted, his voice raspy. "Why am I here?"
Hiruzen smiled kindly. "I was hoping you could tell me why you were found unconscious in the training grounds after unleashing a massive surge of chakra," he replied, his tone gentle but inquisitive.
Naruto's confusion deepened, then his eyes widened as he remembered the events of the previous day. "I was attacked by three ninja in blank masks," he explained, recounting the intense battle, the awakening of his chakra chains, and his eventual collapse. "The last thing I remember is those purple chains erupting from my body before waking up here. Do you know anything about that, old man?"
Hiruzen sighed and nodded. "Yes, Naruto, I do," he admitted. "I was hoping to wait until you were older to tell you this, but I no longer have a choice. Those chains are part of the Uzumaki bloodline, a unique ability called Chakra Forging."
Surprise and disbelief flooded Naruto's features. He had a clan? And a bloodline? "I have a clan, old man?" he asked, his voice barely a whisper.
"Yes, Naruto," Hiruzen confirmed. "It's from your mother's side of the family. Kushina Uzumaki was your mother."
Naruto's eyes welled with tears. "My mother?" he choked out, the realization hitting him with the force of a physical blow.
Hiruzen nodded, his own eyes glistening with unshed tears. "Those scrolls I gave you," he explained, "they contain the Uzumaki clan's basic ninja teachings. That's why they resonated with you so strongly. Now that you've awakened your bloodline, I can give you this."
Hiruzen reached into his desk drawer and retrieved a scroll simply labeled "Uzumaki." "I suggest you read this as soon as you get settled into your new home," he said, a warm smile spreading across his face. "You'll be living in the Uzumaki compound from now on."
Naruto's head spun. A compound? A clan? A bloodline? It was all too much to process.
"Follow me," Hiruzen instructed, rising from his chair. He led Naruto out of the office and towards the Uzumaki compound. As they walked through the village, Naruto noticed the absence of the usual glares and whispers. No one dared to insult him while he was in the presence of the Third Hokage. He felt a surge of gratitude towards the old man.
They arrived at a massive metal gate, intricately adorned with swirling patterns and kanji. The gate was connected to tall walls that enclosed the entire compound. "Place your hand on the gate and channel your chakra," Hiruzen instructed.
Naruto obeyed, and with a resounding clang, the gate swung open. It was clear that this was no ordinary lock, but a powerful seal designed to recognize Uzumaki chakra.
Naruto stepped through the gate, his eyes widening in awe. The compound was pristine, seemingly untouched by time. Lush gardens, elegant buildings, and training grounds stretched out before him.
"Old man?" Naruto called out, noticing that Hiruzen hadn't followed him.
Hiruzen smiled. "This is as far as I go, Naruto," he said. "This is your inheritance. Go explore."
With those words, Hiruzen turned and departed, the gate clanging shut behind him. Naruto, alone in his ancestral home, felt a mixture of excitement, trepidation, and a profound sense of belonging.
"Time to learn about my inheritance," he murmured, a determined glint in his eyes. He formed a dozen shadow clones and dispatched them to explore the compound. He would uncover every secret, every hidden treasure, every trace of his forgotten clan.
As Hiruzen walked back to his office, his thoughts churned with concern and anticipation. Naruto's performance against the ANBU had been nothing short of extraordinary. For a seven-year-old, self-trained for only two years, to hold his own and even injure three experienced operatives was a testament to his prodigious talent. It was clear that Naruto was destined for greatness, but he needed guidance, a mentor who could nurture his abilities and help him navigate the challenges that lay ahead.
Hiruzen knew just the person for the job, but another pressing matter weighed heavily on his mind: Danzo. There was no doubt in his mind that the masked ANBU were Danzo's operatives. Naruto had piqued the man's interest, and that was a dangerous thing. Danzo's ambitions were boundless, and his methods often ruthless. Hiruzen shuddered to think what schemes the man might be concocting.
Providing Naruto with a skilled teacher was not only about accelerating his development but also about ensuring his safety. Now that Naruto had claimed his Uzumaki heritage, his name alone would make him a target for those seeking to exploit his power. The revelation of his father's identity would only amplify the danger. Naruto needed to be prepared for the trials that awaited him.
Hiruzen finally reached his office and sank into his chair with a weary sigh. The weight of responsibility pressed down on him. He hoped Naruto wouldn't be too disheartened when he learned the tragic fate of his clan. "I hope I made the right move," he mused, puffing on his tobacco pipe, seeking solace in the familiar ritual. He was getting too old for this, but the future of Konoha, and the well-being of Naruto, rested on his shoulders.
Can you guess who Hiruzen chose to be Naruto's trainer and protector?
The fight scene between Naruto and the ANBU was pretty intense, but I'm always looking for ways to improve my fight choreography. Any advice or criticism is welcome!
