"So what happened to the Chaos Emeralds when Chaos Control happened, Sonic?" Tails asked Sonic as he stopped washing the Tornado 2. "They just disappeared!"
"That doesn't mean they're gone for good. Any time the seven Chaos Emeralds come together in one place and are used, they scatter and disappear all over again," Sonic explained to him as he laid back with one leg over the other.
"I'm not worried at all," Sparkle said as she came in from a workout with Knuckles. "I mean you found them once, you can do it again, can't you?"
"Sure I can," Sonic said to her as he bobbed his leg up and down and then stared at the ceiling, "When I get around to it."
"What do you mean by that?" Knuckles demanded as he looked over at him after getting a drink from one of the bottles of water Tails had on his plane. "Sonic, you do want to go back home, right?"
"Yeah I do, but in the meantime, is it really that big of a hurry?" Sonic asked him, "I mean why don't we take a chance to explore this place while we're here?"
"Knuckles, I know you're supposed to guard the Master Emerald. I'm sure it's fine," Sparkle tried to say to calm him down as she got her own bottle of water, "Why can't you have a little more faith? You can trust me and Sonic."
"Yeah sure, why not? Just lay around and do nothing like a lump," Knuckle sarcastically said and scoffed, "Typical female."
Sparkle quietly gasped as Sonic got up in shock. Amy and Cream stared at him and Tails' stopped cleaning to slowly turn around. Amy got her hammer out and Cream covered her mouth. Cheese hide behind her.
"Knuckles," Tail said in shock.
Sparkle clutched her bottle tightly, then put it down and walked away.
"Hey, where are you going?" Knuckles asked as he saw her leaving.
"You obviously don't want me around," Sparkle said in a low voice. "I'll go and find the Chaos Emeralds myself."
"What? By yourself?" Knuckles asked in disbelief and held her arm, "But that will take forever."
"Well, we'll never know until I try," Sparkle glared at him and then yanked her arm away from him before running at high speed.
"Wait!" Knuckles called out and then shielded his eyes to keep the dust from flying in it, "Darn it!"
Then Knuckles ran after her at his top speed. Sparkle sniffled and roughly wiped the tears in her eyes.
Sparkle started running faster to get away from him. As she pushed herself, bright purple sparks started shooting out of her spines and zapping the ground along the way. Knuckles looks around in surprise from what was happening in front of him.
"That's new," Knuckles said as he continued to follow her.
As Knuckles followed the scorch marks made by Sparkle, he noticed a blue streak following him from behind. He sighed as Sonic caught up with him and then started following Sparkle as well.
"What are you doing here?" Knuckles asks in annoyance.
"I'm going to help Sparkle find the Emerald," Sonic said to Knuckles and then frowned at him, "Why are you following her?"
"I don't want her to go off by herself. She could get in trouble," Knuckles stated.
"Oh that's surprising considering what you said about her," Sonic coldly said to him and then noticed him stopping and skidded to a halt.
"What did I say?" Knuckles asked him.
"You called her a lazy lump and said it was typical of women," Sonic informed him and crossed his arms.
Then Knuckles thought back to what he said and gasped, "I can't believe it. I actually said that?!"
"Yeah you did," Sonic said and then scoffed, "I know you're a hard case sometimes, but Knuckles, that was pretty jerky of you. And you need to apologize to her. As soon as we catch up with her."

Meanwhile at the construction site the workers were giving orders to the back hoe driver. He pulled a lever and then scooper pulled up mounds of dirt. Then it hit a green glowing object and then meters started going haywire.
"Hey! What's happening?" The Backhoe Driver cried out and yelped. "Aahh!"
The Backhoe machine started twisting around and jerking the scooper up and down.
"Help! Somebody help me!" Backhoe driver screamed as he tried to pull some levers to stop it, "I'm losing control!"
"Look out!" A construction worker cried out and ducked as the scooper whirled over his head.
"I can't stop this thing!" Backhoe driver shouted and then screamed as he was thrown from his seat into the ground.
"Hey, are you all right?" The construction worker asked as he ran to him and helped him stand up, "What the heck is happening?!"
"I... don't know," Backhoe driver groaned as he stood up and watched it go crazy. "All of a sudden, the thing had a mind of its own!"

As Sparkle continued running, she noticed how things on this planet are similar to Mobius. The hills were as green as the ones back home and the trees were as tall. She smiled at the mountains in the distance and wondered if there were any loops to run on or if they had an ocean as blue as back home. Not that she could convince Sonic to go see it with her since he can't swim. But luckily for her, she can.
"It would be nice to see it with Knuckles- oh yeah," Sparkles started to say and then remembered the hurtful thing he said about her. "Maybe after I find an Emerald, I'll go see if they have a beach here."
Then she looked behind her and saw a blue blur and a red mass getting closer. She frowned and then started to move again. Right now, she was not in the mood to face him. As she ran, she heard a loud crash and skidded to a halt to look where it was coming from.
"Is that...? No, it can't be that easy," Sparkle said as she saw a green glow in the distance, "But maybe I'll go see what's going on."
With that in mind, she took off for the commotion to the left. Knuckles and Sonic saw her move to the right and then saw what she was heading for.
"I don't believe it," Knuckles said as he ran, "Is that?"
"A Chaos Emerald? Looks like it to me," Sonic said and then sped up, "Hurry up!"
Sparkle snuck into town and headed for the area she saw the glow coming from. When she got there, she ducked behind a building. The reason for that was because there was a tv news van in front of the construction site and in the way of the Chaos Emerald. Then she saw a reporter for the station get out of the van with her camera man and stand in the only clear spot she could see from there.
"Oh great. This is gonna be tougher than I thought," Sparkle groaned to herself.
"As you can see behind me, the backhoe of a construction company has gone out of control," The reporter said to her cameraman, "With us is the driver of the vehicle. Sir, can you tell us what happened?"
"All I know is one minute I'm digging in the dirt, the plow hit something and then the instruments started going crazy," The driver said in her microphone.
"Behind me is the machine in question and what appears to be a glowing green object," The report said as she looked at the ground, "See if you can get a better look at it."
"Ok, but my camera is a little fuzzy," The cameraman said as he looked away from the lens and then tried to zoom in.

Unfortunately for Sparkle, she wasn't the only one watching the news report. A certain mad doctor was watching the report too or trying to as the picture kept going in and out of focus and breaking up. He grinned and chuckled wickedly at it before turning off the tv.
"Well, well, well, it seems the Emeralds weren't destroyed in the blast, after all," Eggman said and cackled to himself.
"Doctor," Decoe said to him as he came over to his hover chair.
"Yes, Decoe?" Eggman asked and looked at him.
"Your cards," Decoe said and presented him with a big stack of green cards.
"Hm, let's see... Ah, which one..." Eggman asked himself as he looked over the cards with a different kind of robot on them, "Oh, I can't decide. I'll let the machine decide."
Then he put the whole stack of cards in a slot and closed the lid. He pulled a lever and on the screen several panels rolled down like a slot machine. Finally it settled on a robot that had a bird like quality to it. It was purple with a gold crown on its head and its talons were golden too.
"Ah yes, Beacon," Eggman said in delight when he saw the robot and then hit the approved button. "Go, my machine, and get me that Chaos Emerald."
A government agent stationed on the island. He looked over the island and saw the ground opening up. Beacon looked up and then launched into the sky.
"Enemy aircraft spotted," The agent said over the radio to another in the distance.
"Roger," Another agent said in response and yelled as it flew right by them.
"Once I get my hands on that Chaos Emerald, I'll create an even more powerful robot, and getting rid of those pesky hedgehogs will be a breeze," Eggman cackled to himself as he followed Beacon in his hoverchair.

Back at the warehouse, Tails, Cream, Cheese and Amy saw the new report on a tv Tails managed to find and fix. Tails and Amy look at each other and head for the Tornado. As it lowers the glass, Cream and Cheese wave them off.
"Be careful. Don't get hurt, Tails," Cream said as she waved to them.
"Don't worry, Cream. We'll be okay," Tails said as he opened the doors and moved the plane forward.
"Tails, do you think Sparkle saw the report?" Amy asked him as she buckled her seat belt.
"We can only hope," Tails said as he pulled a lever and the two of them were airborne, "But I can't believe what Knuckles said to her."
"If he doesn't apologize to her, my hammer and him are going to have quite the conversation," Amy scowled and crossed her arms.
"And for once I might agree with you," Tails said to her and then got on the radio, "Sonic? Sonic, we saw on the news where the Chaos Emerald is."
"Sparkle's around here somewhere. Bet we can see her easier with a bird's-eye view," Sonic suggested and then took Knuckles' hand to drag him up to the closest building, "I think we can just chill here and wait for Tails and Amy."
Knuckles frowned and then looked around for any sign of Sparkle. He sighed as he thought about their last conversation and how much he screwed up.

"Hm? Well, I do believe someone is following me," Eggman said as he looked behind him and saw a fighter jet behind him and grinned, "This can be fun. What do you say, Beacon? Let's sink the finks."
Then the machine turned around and headed right for the plane. As the plane fired on the machine, the bullets just bounced off his casing. Beacon then fired at the jet and blasted it. The pilot ejected himself right in time as the jet went down in the water. Then the machine did the same thing to the second jet and a figure jumped out of the plane with a parachute.
"How do you like them apples? You foolish flyboys thought you could pull one over on the good doctor, didn't you?" Eggman taunted them and then cackled at the dead, "Well, I guess the bad doctor proved you wrong."

"It's about time," Sparkle said to herself as she saw the new crew packing up their stuff to leave. Then she quietly tip-toed over to the site.
"It's about time. You'd think they could fly that thing a little faster." Sonic said as he jumped up with Knuckles onto the Tornado.
"Hey Sonic, Knuckles," Amy said as she waved to them and then pointed straight ahead, "Sparkle and the Chaos Emerald are over there!"
"Chaos Emerald, here we come," Sonic smirked as they headed that way.
As the cameraman was putting the equipment up, he saw a shadow pass over him. As he looked up, he saw Eggman coming right at them.
"What's goin' on here?" Sonic said and then spotted Eggman and a machine by him heading for the same place he was, "So... That Dr. Eggman thinks he can nab that Chaos Emerald before me. Well, he can think again."
"We're closing in," Eggman gleefully said and then noticed something on his monitor, "It's that blasted hedgehog! Change of plans. We'll come back for our little treasure later on. First, we'll get rid of that meddling Sonic."
"Whoa!" Sonic yelled as Beacon dived and fired at him. The robot smashed into Sonic again and again, causing him to flip and roll in the air.
"Quick, Amy!" Tails ordered Amy as he got out a power ring and handed it to her.
"Look, Sonic! The ring! I'll throw it to you," Amy shouted out to Sonic. "Catch! "
Sonic tried to catch it but it fell short of his hands and landed in the water. Beacon slammed into him and knocked him into an old building.
"Not good," Tails said in worry when he saw Sonic miss.
"Oh no! We're too far away," Amy cried out and then got an idea, "Hey, what if we try to get closer?"
"It won't be easy, but I can try," Tails said and then pushed the place forward.
"All right, let's do it," Amy said in determination and then got another ring to give to Sonic.
"Now that our speedy little friend is out of the way, let's get back to our original plan, shall we," Eggman smugly said and then pointed Beacon at the construction site.
The machine flew down and then was about to swipe the Emerald out of the ground. But just as he was about to close his talons around the gem, Sparkle rushed in and nabbed the Emerald right out from under him. Eggman looked up from his hover car in shock and surprise.
"What in the-" Eggman exclaimed in shock and watched her zoom out of there, "Grr, Beacon, blast that hedgehog and get me that Emerald!"
Beacon came down and headed straight for Sparkle. He grabbed her and then started squeezing her. Knuckles heard her cry out in pain and yelled as he ran straight at it and then smashed through it's foot. Sparkle screamed as she fell. Knuckles kicked off the machine and then caught her before flipping over and landing on a building. He grunted as he tumbled down and Sparkle landed in his lap. Beacon angrily squeaked and then continued thrashing Sonic all over the place.
"Hey!" Sonic shouted and grunted as it hit him into the ground. "Knock it off!"
Eggman cackled at the sight of Sonic getting thrashed and then yelped as the Tornado sped past him.
"Soooniiiiic!" Amy screamed out and then tossed him a power ring.
Sonic grabbed it and a bright flash shined in Eggman's face. He glared at the machine, ran at it and then spin dashed right through the machine like butter. Beacon seized up and then sparked a moment.
"Oh no no no," Eggman exclaimed and then screamed as it exploded and launched him far off in the distance.
"Good riddance. Hey, hey, Sparkle wake up," Knuckles said and shook Sparkle a bit.
Sparkle groaned as she woke up and felt her body ache. She sat up and rubbed her side until she realized who's lap she was in.
"What are you doing here?" Sparkle frowned at Knuckles and turned away from him.
"I came to help you. I wasn't going to let some stupid machine crush you," Knuckles said as he helped her up.
"Well, here you go," Sparkle said and dropped the Emerald in his hand, "I got the Emerald just like you wanted."
"Sparkle...I'm sorry, " Knuckles looked away from her.
"What?" Sparkle asked in disbelief as she turned to face him, "What did you say?"
"I said, I'm sorry. What I said before was stupid and wrong," Knuckles admitted and rubbed his head, "And I had no right to call you a lazy lump and say that all woman are like that. Because you're not. You're a tough lady, a hard worker and very smart. And not to mention, you are one of the most powerful beings I've ever met."
"Wow Knuckles, I didn't know you felt that way," Sparkle said and blushed a bit, "And I forgive you."
Then she came over to him and then gave him a brief hug. He blushed a bit and then patted her back a bit before she let go of him to look at the Emerald.
"Well, one down and six more to go." Sparkle said proudly and then saw Tails flying down to meet them.
"So Eggman really did get sent here with us," Sparkle said as she looked over the damage his robot did to the area.
"Looks like it and he's gonna be looking for the Emeralds, too," Sonic said as he appeared next to them.
"Then we'll have to get them before him and get home to Mobius," Knuckles said in determination.
"Actually Knuckles, I think this is actually Mobius," Sparkle said and pointed to the ground.
"How could this be Mobius?" Amy asked her when Tails landed the plane.
"Well, look ahead. Don't those trees look familiar? And what about those hills and those mountains?" Sparkle commented and pointed out the landmarks. "I'm telling you guys, this is Mobius, but it might not be the Mobius we know of."
"So you mean like we're on Mobius in a different dimension?" Tails curiously asked as he looked at the sky.
"I think we could be," Sparkle said to him.
"Does that mean there might be an Angel Island here too," Knuckles asked her.
"I don't know, but we can find out together and even so, I made a promise we could get the Emeralds together and go back to our Mobius," Sparkle said to him and then held his hand as they looked at the sunset.
