Alrighty the Sports Festival and it time to move now. In this chapter, things slow down a bit as school goes back to normal (for bit) and we make our way to the Hero internship. But before all that, preparations are being made on different sides.
As always I do not own MY HERO ACADEMIA or Marvel or any of their characters
With that let's begin
While Izuku enjoyed the time he had spent with Gizon, Ochaco and Momo, it wasn't all too sad when it came to the end. He was still a bit of an introvert and these weren't people he spent that much time with before. Since it had nearly been two and half hours since the Sports Festival had ended, UA's campus was mostly empty save for a few teachers, so Izuku didn't bump into anyone as he retrieved the pod from the waiting room and took it back to Class Room 6-G.
After putting the pod away, a small section of the wall opened and Izuku stepped inside. Several mechanical arms appeared and quickly disassembled the suit. Once the suit was disassembled Izuku stepped out of the wall and the suit reassembled. Izuku looked over the suit, the many bullet dents around the chest were noticeable. This meant he would most likely need to replace those panels so as not to mess with the assembly and the integrity of the armor.
Yet that wasn't the only thing that was on his mind, as Izuku remembered how broken his arc reactor was. It would be an easy fix, as when he first received it, he had taken this time to learn the ins and outs of the device. He had the outlay of the entire device memorized, he could probably build one in his sleep. But that didn't make it indestructible. Izuku had never been in a fight where someone targeted his arc reactor, then again he had never really been in a fight. Yet Momo was able to realize what the device did and was able to damage it.
Izuku himself had told Shoto that eventually, a villain would be able to overcome his ice. Meaning eventually there was going to be a villain that was able to destroy Izuku's arc reactor. It had barely withstood a few shots from a 9mm pistol, and there were plenty of quirks there stronger than a pistol. And if it broke in the middle of a fight, his suit could power down and leave him unable to fight. As Izuku looked at the depower arc reactor replacement, he knew he would need to come up with a better way to protect it. The first item that would need to be upgraded was the glass panel on the front as it was almost immediately cracked after the first bullet hit it
After looking at the depowered arc reactor for a bit, Izuku told Jabisu to disassemble the suit and store it away. As the suit was disassembled, Izuku turned and walked out of the room. Once outside UA, he took a bus home, where he made himself a small dinner. After eating it, he promptly went to bed and fell asleep.
The next day school resumed as normal. Gizon and Uraraka had been healed enough that they were able to move around without much struggle or pain. Though Ochaco was clearly favoring her left side and Gizon had a slight wheeze to his breath. While Momo was able to see as Recovery Girl had used her quirk again before school started, her eyes were still hyper-sensitive to light, so she had been instructed to wear a pair of high-powered sunglasses for the rest of the day. Though to be safe Recovery Girl still passed along a note to Mr Aizawa that the three of them were exempted from hero class for the day.
Yet while it might have been normal for those three, Izuku was a bit off-put with all the attention he was getting, though it wasn't much of a surprise. He was one of the first support students in UA's history to get past the first round of the Sports Festival and the very first to have a chance to win the whole event. Students from all three years and teachers were stopping him in the hallway to either congratulate him on making it so far in the Sports Festival or wish him luck in his fight against Gizon the coming Saturday. He was able to take everything in strides, but when the Big Three stopped him he struggled to contain himself.
Mirio Togata considered one of the best students and on the level of mid-ranked pro heroes, heavily praised Izuku for his ingenuity in working hard and being able to find a cool way to use his quirk. Nejiro Hado rapid-fired questions at Izuku, asking about his quirk and what his suit could do at such a rate that even Izuku struggled to keep up with.
Izuku's only saving grace was Tamaki Amajiki, reminding them that they had their own last period to get to. With that being a reminder for himself, Izuku excused himself and ran to his last-period class. Luckily that class was a good break for Izuku from the day, but on the other end, Class 1-A's last period was more tense than usual. Not that the way Mr Aizawa opened class helped at all.
"Alright listen up, Now that the Sports Festival is over, we can move on to the next major learning curve of the hero course." Mr Aizawa said and the mild conversations that were occurring throughout the class quickly settled down, "After the Sports Festival, the first years are able to take place internships under different hero agencies. And as a result of the Sports Festival, some students even get some extra offers."
Mr Aizawa clicked on the projector and names, along with numbers beside them, "For time, I'll just show the top six."
Gizon Hisahito: 5,854.
Shoto Todoroki: 4,867
Momo Yaoyorozu: 4,534
Ochaco Uraraka: 4,058
Katsuko Bakugo: 3,458
Fumikage Tokoyami: 1,058
"Dang, Bakugo and Todoroki only survived the first few rounds of fights, yet they got so many offers." Denki said.
"They'll most likely be because of my father," Shoto said, catching a few members of Class 1-A off guards. None were quite sure what had occurred during his fight against Izuku, all of them were quite surprised when he suddenly started to use his fire. But then after he lost and came up to the seating area, the class expected him to be quiet and hold the stoic look he always had, but instead a gentle smile there. And now it seemed that change wasn't temporary, Shoto was opening up more and more.
"Typically the offers are more spread out throughout the students, but as you can see, these five got more than the rest of the class. Even between fifth and sixth there's a large gap. Many of you also got offers and you'll receive a packet and forms to fill out by the end of the way. And for any who didn't get an extra offer, there are other hero agencies that partner with UA that you will be given a list of." Mr Aizawa said, then sighed, "Now you will be acting as hero, and for that you will need your heroes' names."
A majority of Class 1-A cheered but was quickly silenced by Mr. Aizawa's hair rising and his eyes going red, "Now I am one that does not care for hero names, I have called in Midnight to help. She will be the one that gets the final say in whether your name is good or not."
The door to the hallway opened and Midnight opened. Gizon watched Mineta as he started drooling. It didn't help that Midnight was walking seductively, but Gizon now knew he would have all of Class 1-A support if he started to rain hellfire on Mineta. At the same time, it seemed Midnight was really pushing her new life goal to get Gizon to blush at least once at her antics
So when Midnight's eyes fell on him, Gizon shook his head as a clear sign that her efforts were not working. A moment of disappointment flashed across her face but was quickly covered up by her seductive smile. "Hello, class."
"Listen to Midnight and don't wake me for anything." Mr. Aizawa said, then slipped into his sleeping bag and disappeared beneath his desk.
"Now I want you to think long and hard about your hero names. They should reflect on the kind of hero you want to be. It should be easy to say but recognizable. Many heroes have come to regret the name they chose when they first started out and worked hard to change them. So do yourself a favor and pick a good name. Whiteboards will be passed out and when you have selected a name you will come to the front and present it. I will then tell you whether it's good or not." Midnight explained then passed out the whiteboard.
Many of the students began thinking about what they wanted their hero names to be, while others immediately wrote something down to show they had been thinking about it for some time. While a few couldn't come up with a single idea of what to make their hero names.
After a few minutes, Midnight asked for volunteers and Aoyama graciously accepted. However, after showing his hero name to be, "I can not stop twinkling." Many waited in fear as to whether Midnight would accept the name or not
Luckily Midnight didn't accept it and changed it to "Can't stop twinkling." Which sounded more like a name but didn't sound all that better.
Mina wasn't any better as though her hero name sounded like an actual hero name, Midnight immediately denied it as it was too connected to those frightening creatures from the old movies. So Mina flopped back into her seat to think of a new name.
Throughout the period many showed off their hero names, with many of them being accepted. With only a few needing small revisions. The only one to be outright denied every time was Bakugo's Almighty God of Explosion, Destruction Murder, Ground Zero and its many different variants. Then there was Shoto and Ilda, who decided for the time being to go with their regular names. Bakugo later joined them when Midnight was just tired of dealing with him and threw his whiteboard and marker into the trash and asked him to sit down.
Eventually, Mina got Midnight to agree to the name of Alien Hero: Pinky. Midnight accepted it with a word of caution to Mina, which the pink girl did not seem to hear as she was happy to have 'alien' in her hero's name.
The last person to show his name was Gizon. He hadn't touched his whiteboard or his marker, but the name he was thinking of he had been sitting on ever since he ran away. He could have gone with a cheesy name, something similar to Living Taser, which in actuality his father hated in the beginning but said the name slowly grew on him. But Gizon wanted a name that truly meant something.
Midnight looked at him and said, "Alright Hisahito, you're the last one. Would you like to share your hero name?" Midnight then looked down at Gizon's board and saw it was still blank. Yet the next second Gizon stood up and grabbed his board and marker.
As Gizon walked up to the front, he wrote on the board. Something that reminded him why he had chosen this path. As he stood behind the desk, he thought about all that he had left him. The crimes he committed to help All For One, the training his father had given him. The legacy he was building.
And that was what Gizon was fighting for, to leave behind a better legacy.
Gizon put his whiteboard on the desk and then turned it around. And immediately got mixed reviews.
"His is much worse than mine." Bakugo commented.
Ochaco looked at the name and knew what it meant to Gizon, an oath for the future built from the past, "I think it fits his style."
"Yeah but with the whole thing, it could hurt his image." Tsuyu said.
"Sure I can see it striking fear into the villain easily but what about bringing comfort to civilians." Denki said.
Written on Gizon's board was the name, "Hero's Legacy: Ruin."
Midnight read the name multiple times over. There was nothing wrong with it like Bakugo, but the way Gizon was presenting, it could put easily be portrayed in the wrong way. She turned to him and asked, "Are you sure?"
Gizon smiled a bit, it might not be a powerful name like All Might, but it was a lot better than the name he used to hold. "Is this what I want to be called?" Gizon was proud of his name, it would bring happiness to people who heard while striking fear in the villains he fought. But most importantly it turned his past into fuel for becoming a hero.
"Then I pass it as good. Now once again for those who received internship offers, you will receive your packet tomorrow morning. For everyone else you will receive a list of pre approved agencies at the same time. Please have your top three agencies selected and have the paper turned in by the end of the week. Class dismissed."
While Class 1-A was let out, on the other side of Campus, so was Izuku. As he slipped all his class material into his backpack, he made plans to head to Classroom 6-G, as throughout the day he had researched some alternative material to better reinforce his arc reactor and he wanted to run some simulations.
While at the same time, try to come up with a plan of how to fight against Gizon. During the Sports Festival, Izuku wasn't confident in his ability to fend against Gizon. But now that he had a week to solely focus on the fight, Izuku was going to make good time with it. He was going to rewatch Gizon's fight and learn everything he could about his opponent.
Arriving at Classroom 6-G, Izuku walked inside and quickly booted up the holotable.
"Good Afternoon Master Midoriya. What can I do for you?" Jabisu asked.
"Hello Jabisu." Izuku said as he put his backpack down, disregarding all the homework he had already completed, "I wanted to run some simulation for replacement for the glass panel of my arc reactor."
"Right away sir."
"First simulation, let's start off simple and work our way up. Switch out the tempered glass for borosilicate glass and use the data from our session with Snipe to test each growing thickness, isolating 9mm ammunition." Izuku said as he walked over to the holotable.
A green light went around the edge of the holotable as a loading animation as Jabisu ran the numbers. After a few seconds, the green disappeared and Jabisu said, "Unquantifiable."
Izuku sighed, "Yeah, I should have seen that coming. Borosilicate glass is better known for its thermal properties. How about a polycarbonate compound?"
The green light went around again then disappeared, "1.25 inches, 3.175 centimeters."
"Alright, how about Acrylic?" Izuku asked.
The green light went around again and then disappeared, "1.375 inches, 3.493 centimeters."
"Alright, that's a little bit of a worse option," Izuku said as he looked at the data that appeared above the holotable. The crystal structure of polycarbonate and acrylic glass floats in the air. His eyes jumped between them and then an idea formed in his mind, "Let's try Laminated glass next."
The green light barely had a chance to appear before Jabisu said, "Only an inch thick, 2.54 centimetres."
"So a better option, but there's got to be a different compound that works better," Izuku said as he overlooked the different sets of data that were pulled up. There was a lot of information that at first glance didn't seem that useful, but Izuku always had that information up. To catch the small differences and run with any ideas he came up with.
As Izuku's mind jumped around the information, the telling hissing sound of the door reached his ears. This broke Izuku's concentration and he turned in enough time to see Ochaco, Gizon and Momo walking into the room. Izuku smiled as he was glad to see them again, but there was one small issue, "Welcome. Um, Jabisu who gave them access."
Classroom 6-G was supposed to be one of the best-protected rooms on UA's campus. The security system had been built by his father, with countermeasures to handle the most powerful quirks and coding that would take months just to understand.
"You did, Sir, Yesterday. New User, Momo Yaaoyorozu. Advanced Schools Files." Jabisu said.
Izuku didn't know whether to curse himself or Jabisu. Since only Principal Nezu, Powerloader, Inko and Himself were saved within Jabisu's system, he had to create new levels of access for Mei to get in and out of the room without trouble. Only in and out, she didn't have access to any of the tech within the walls, not even on his death bed would Izuku allow that to happen.
"Hello Jabisu, thank you for giving me Midoriya's location," Momo said. Neither she nor Ochaoc or Gizon knew Izuku had a special workshop to himself, and typing a question out to the AI butler had been shot in the dark. She was only slightly worried when the text on her phone disappeared and a map of the school and directions to the room appeared below it.
On the other hand, Izuku was confused about how Momo was able to contact Jabisu. Though to be safe he said, "Jabisu, remind me to limit your access to other technology outside your servers." Izuku then looked at his guests, "So what brings you to my humble workshop."
"You have this room to yourself." Ochaco said. Izuku was the only one in the room.
"It was my father's old classroom. I was given it as a gift. It's where my father first designed my suit. What can I do for you?" Izuku closed the file he had opened and opened another. Their faces showed they had something to ask, most likely they wanted him to design some equipment.
"I asked you if you could prototype something for me. Remember?" Ochaco asked. That was the reason she was here, she wasn't so sure about Gizon or Momo.
Izuku recalled how after the cavalry battle Ochaco had asked if she could run an idea about support equipment by him. Even reminding himself of their conversation after the festival was over. "I recall. So why don't you tell me what your issue is?
Izuku closed down the different stimulation he had up and opened a new one that he labelled, 'Uraraka'
"Well when I use my zero gravity quirk on myself, I really don't have a way to control myself directionally. I just go in the direction I was going in the first place. When I saw your equipment, I thought I could use something similar." Ochaco explained.
Izuku thought for a moment, then said, "Jabisu, pull up Ochaco Uraraka's school file. Render Suit as 3-d model." Within a minute a 3-D model of Ochaco's suit appeared.
"Cool," Gizon said. He had only seen things like that in movies, seeing it in real life was unexpected. It just added to the list of how advanced Izuku was compared to everyone else, and this meant it would be harder to take him down if he turned out to be Iron Monger. Gizon's eyes darted around and he saw signs of hidden machinery behind different sections of the wall.
"Wait you have a holotable" Momo said as she overlooked the said holotable. Her father's company had a few in the R&D department with some prototypes used for higher-ups and executives. But none of them looked like Izuku's or worked as smoothly, "You never cease to amaze me.
"You can look over it later." Izuku noticed the curious glint in Momo's eyes, it was the same one Mei often got, but fortunately not as gremlin-like. He turned his eyes back to Ochaco's suit, and he gestured to the belt, wrist gauntlets and neck brace of her suit, "I assume the additional equipment is to help with your nausea of using your quirk on yourself."
"How did you know?" Ochaco asked. Without it being explained, really only Momo, Gizon and Sato had really figured out the purpose of the equipment. And with all the training she had been doing, the nausea wasn't too much of an issue. She had gotten better at ignoring it, only noticing it if she slowed down or was getting extremely close to her limit.
"I have the same issue, but to a lesser degree when I fly around. Now if you're hoping to use my repulsor technology, then I have bad news. Unless you have a giant battery, that option is not going to work" Izuku said and noticed Ochaco's defeated look, "Luckily in the world of engineering there is never just one option. Now for the first option, I would need Hatsume's permission. But her hover boots could be modified to help you. Strip away the extra power to hoover and you would have air nuzzles that could push you around. They would have to be placed around your body to provide 360-degree directional movement."
"That sounds like heavy modification, anything simpler?" Ochaco asked. She wasn't thinking about being able to fly like Izuku with his suit. She had other things she was working on and learning how to fly would slow down her progression in those areas. She was most hoping for something simple that would help her go in the general direction she wanted to go, with some minor corrections as needed
"Well, the second option wouldn't be as directional, just getting from point A to point B in a straight line," Izuku said as he blew up the hologram to be life-size and then lowered it so half the top half of the suit was shown.
Ochaco perked up at that, "Perfect, let's start with that one."
"Well." Izuku reached into the hologram and slid his arm into the wrist gauntlet. The gauntlets then formed around his wrist and he pulled it away from the rest of the hologram. The three eyes tracked the motion, surprised the hologram interacted with the real world so smoothly. With a wave of his other hand, the top shell of the gauntlet disappeared, revealing the inner workings. Izuku then noticed the three looks of surprise and smiled as he closed his fist and withdrew his arm from the hologram. Then he clasped his hands together and then pulled them apart, causing the hologram of the wrist gauntlet to increase in size, then waved his hand to dismiss the rest of the 3-D suit model, "The second option would be inspired by your classmate, Hanta Sero. If you increase the size of your wrist gauntlet a bit, about 8 % bigger, you could house a small grapple system. Have room for a hook, a length of wire then a retraction system to pull yourself in the direction of the object you latched onto."
"I believe Sero is self taught in using his quirk to swing from building to building. He'd probably be up to giving you some lessons." Gizon pointed out.
"Now while the support department has permission to make minor modifications to your costumes, I don't have permission to modify any of your hero equipment. So while I can create the blueprint and prototype in house, for it to be fully integrated into your costume, you will need to submit a request to whatever support company created your suit, along with my blueprint and letter signed by me allowing them to use the blueprint." Izuku explained. This wasn't the first time he had run into copyright issues, Mei just loved changing hero equipment around. It had gotten Hatsume Industries into trouble a few times.
"What would be the time table on something like that?" Momo asked. She had a similar request, she was hoping to talk with Izuku about an entirely new piece of support equipment yet her question still applied to her.
"For blueprinting and prototyping, maybe within a month. I have a lot of free time to work on it. After submitting to the company, based on track records you would get the equipment right before midterm exams." Izuku said after a bit of thinking. He didn't have any control over how fast support companies work, so he figured they would work at their standard rate, "Moreover, while you're waiting for the final product from your support department you can practice with my prototype."
"Thanks." Ochaco said, bowing slightly. This was going better than she hoped. Izuku was a big help, even though he wasn't a part of Class 1-A. Yet.
"Now for you two, what can I do for you?" Izuku said as he wrote out some holographic notes on Ochaco's file and then made a gesture for it to disappear, then a new file appeared. Momo blinked and even shook her head to make sure she was seeing things right. Her father's company's R&D department was years away from making a holotable that could track a hand motion so easily and make different functions occur at the same time.
"Actually I'm good. I just wanted to see what surprises you were going to have for our fight this Saturday." Gizon said.
"Nothing yet." Izuku said then smirked, "Doesn't mean I'm not going to have surprises." It was strange, Izuku and Gizon barely knew each other, but they had an understanding of going all out for their fight. In a way through the upcoming battle, they were both seeing what kind of person Izuku was.
"For me, it's not a modification, it's something new." Momo said, as she pulled out a thick red notebook, "This is a part of my hero costume." Momo put the notebook on the table and opened it, the pages fell open to one that had the entire periodic table on it, "As you know my quirk allows me to create any non-organic material. However, I have to know the molecular structure of the material I'm creating. Now I have memorized a lot, but not everything. I thought a book in this style would be great to have to remind myself of molecular structure. Mainly in the heat of battle and I'm not able to recall the information at a moment's notice.
"After some thought I realized that I won't be able to simply pull out my book during a battle and read. Your head's up display got me thinking about having something similar."
"Not to mention falling onto would cause a lot of damage to your spine," Gizon said, as he was bent over looking at the open pages.
"And that." Momo said, though she hadn't really thought about it, but now she could visualize it. If she was thrown back and landed on the shelf and book, it would cause all the impact to go to her lower back and that would cause a problem after a few times.
"Do you want a helmet like mine?" Izuku asked as he looked over the book. It was extremely detailed like his journeys. Izuku looked up at Momo, she seemed comfortable wearing the helmet in the infirmary, but it didn't seem her style.
"No, after wearing these all these days." Momo said as she gestured to the sunglasses she was still wearing. She still had to make a stop at Recovery Girl's office before heading home.
Izuku looked at Momo's sunglasses and wondered why she had been wearing them all day, moreover indoors, "Oh right your eyes. Sorry."
Momo just waved away his concern and said, "I was thinking more like a pair of glasses. It won't have to be so advanced like your helmet, it just needs to store information and display whatever information I need."
There were maybe a few extra features Momo wanted, but at the moment her main focus was digitizing her notebook.
"Well this is a lucky opportunity. Since this was a completely new piece of equipment, and as a certified worker for Hatsume Industries, I would have copyright ownership over it and we wouldn't have to outsource the final product out to a support company. Now I'm assuming you want it to be augmented reality." -Momo nodded- "Well that technology has been commercially available for 30 years." 'Gaming industries definitely helped that move along quickly' "It's simply a matter of shrinking the technology to fit on a regular size of sunglasses. You have a style in mind for the sunglasses."
Momo placed her hand on the holotable and then slowly lifted it. As her hand lifted a pair of sunglasses appeared. They appeared to be a pair of red aviators, with the metallic color matching the rest of Momo's hero costume. Izuku then noticed the sideband of the aviators were thicker than normal, which would provide more room to work with
Izuku picked up the sunglasses and looked them over, "I can turn the glass into a transparent screen, which when turned on will increase the opacity so information can be displayed. The computer chip could be housed in one of the thick ear bands, while the battery is stored within the other ear band. Overall it will be combining all created technology into one piece of equipment. Most will have to be personally manufactured to be the right size, but I could probably have the first prototype down by the end of this week."
Momo was expecting a month before the first prototype, but just as Izuku had explained the technology did exist. It was simply making it the right size to fit Momo's purpose and then troubleshooting it.
"I like having our own support company here at the school. If I have any new equipment for my costume, I'm going to come to you." Gizon said.
"As long as it's new and I don't have to fight copyright issues." Izuku said as he finished looking over the sunglasses Momo provided. He then set them down on the holotable and then looked over at Gizon, "And this talk has given me some ideas to fight you, Hisahito."
"Oh, I'm looking forward to what you've got for me." Gizon said. He was always looking for a challenge. His multiple quirks made it hard for him to find a fair fight, but Izuku's suit looked like it could give one. He would need to be careful on Saturday.
After that the trio dismissed themselves and Izuku began working on the project before him. He first started with Momo's HUD sunglasses. After getting a 3D scan of the sunglasses, he set about scaling down the different pieces of equipment, while having to reconfigure some so as not to lose any processing power. He then worked on the smart glasses, it's a simple AI to be able to automatically darken to better display information. Once that was all done, Izuku hit "Run Program" and the hidden machines within the walls began building the different pieces.
As that happened, Izuku started on Ochaco's request, which was what sparked an idea in Izuku's mind. A capture tool that would be useful against a brawler like Gizon and villains like him. Beyond Izuku's comment about the first option not being the only option, made him like to view his arc reactor problem from a new angle. He had been focused on glass, to allow the glow of his arc reactor to be seen.
While he could have easily covered the arc reactor with the Gold Titanium alloy that made up the rest of the suit. But he liked the way the different lights around his suit gave up this aura of strength and power. And the big light in the middle of his chest just added to that look.
So Izuku switched to materials that weren't transparent and were more opaque, while still allowing the glow of his arc reactor to be seen.
Izuku worked late into the evening, making great progress on the different projects until he decided he had done enough. Not worrying about heading home, Izuku pulled down a cot from a panel on the wall and slept on it.
The next morning, long before school started, Hawks knocked on the door of Principal Nezu's office. "Come in."
Hawks walked in and greeted Principal Neuz. The small mouse hybrid was reading an article that was talking about the skill shown by Izuku Midoriya of the support course. "It seems Sutāku's son has garnered quite the attention. Much of the media is having a field day on the fact a student from the support course was able to beat not only three hero student, but two of the were recommend student, one being the son of the #2 hero. There are some that speculate Midoriya hasn't shown off his full power." Principal Nezu said, without looking up from his tablet.
"Well, the kid wanted to prove he can be a hero. I say he has, I'm surprised the transfer hasn't been made." Hawks said, taking a chair across from Principal Nezu. Principal Nezu lowered his tablet and then took a sip of tea.
"Yes, along with the media, many of the hero teachers want Midoriya to be transferred. They say he needs to be taught how to control his quirk and use his power effectively and I couldn't agree more. However, per a deal made the final say rests with class 1-A's home teacher. Shouta Aizawa, Eraserhead." Principal Nezu said.
"The teacher that expelled his entire class last year." Hawks said, pointing over his shoulder. When he first read about the incident, he nearly fell out of the sky laughing. The media spent a week tearing apart Eraserhead's reputation. Now that past situation was coming back to make the current one more difficult.
"Yes, however precautions have been made that once Midoriya is transferred he can not be expelled. Now to the topic you wanted to bring up." Principal Nezu said. It was clear Hawks hadn't come to make small talk. He needed a favor and only Principal Nezu was the one who could give it the green light.
"Needless to say, the HPSC is all over the kid, have been since his appearance in Fukuoka. The kid's actions during the Sports Festival has only accelerated their timeline. They're building their team of lawyers to take the kid to court. They are going to release a statement that Midoriya's suit of armor was originally designed for military use and that Hisaishi Sutāku was the lead on the project before running away and hiding at UA. The HPSC is playing their cards and will do what they can to get the blueprints to the armor."
"So what is your plan?" Principal Nezu said as clearly Hawks had one or he wouldn't have walked in so confidently.
"The hero course is having their internship in a week. During that time the HPSC will release their statement. They're hoping that you'll be so focused on the internships that you won't be able to get a good defense before coming to court. I want Midoriya to intern under me for the week. It will give the media a show that you're taking Midoriya's skills seriously and you're preparing him to be transferred and it will give me a reason to be in court with him. So I'll be able to protect him." Hawks said, surprising Principla Nezu a bit. But Hawks understood better than anyone else how the HPSC handled their dirty work.
Principal Nezu thought about it for a second, then looked at Hawks and said, "I'll agree to your plan, under one condition."
"Whatever you want." Hawks knew Principal Nezu could make some unreasonable requests sometimes, but Hawks knew Izuku needed to be protected.
"Tell Midoriya. Tell him the reason you're so protective. Your bluff story about taking interest in him has blinded him for a bit. But once the excitement passes, he'll start to question your true intentions. The father became paranoid, I'd rather not allow the same to happen to the son." Principal Nezu said. Even coming Principal Nezu, he knew Hisashi had a brilliant mind. His intelligence in the field of metaethics and engineering was unrivaled. And Principal Nezu did not want to see another brilliant mind become lose in panic.
Hawks thought about it. Eventually, the truth would come out and though Hawks preferred it never did, it came out through the wrong sources, it would spell career suicide for not only himself but Izuku as well. Yet if Principal Nezu believed Izuku needed to know.
Hawks sighed in defeat, "I'll tell him before we appear in court. He should know the truth from me and not from the HPSC."
"Good. I'll fill out the form and have Midoriya interning under you as a hero. And I'll begin preparing our rebuttal." Principal Nezu had worked hard with Hisashi to keep his invention out of the military and the HPSC's hands. Principal Nezu wasn't going to stop, because the HSPC thought Izuku was a pushover. And if Izuku was half as stubborn as his old man was, they were in for a rude awakening.
And that's Chapter 44. First yeah I know the chapter jumps back and forth the characters a lot, but honestly I liked it for this chapter. And it seems we get back to Izuku building stuff, that will be shown a bit but not as much in the past. Beyond that we get to hero names. I went through them a bit fast, not really speaking everyone's name out. 1, I didn't change anyone names so I did feel the need to spell it out. 2, I feel it would have messed with the flow of the chapter. I do write it out in Project Velocity, since I do change name around a bit and the flow fits better with the structure of that chapter.
What do you think of Gizon Hero Name. Because I struggled with it a lot and I'm not hundred percent sold on it (Meaning most likely it will change in the future and I'll write it into to one of the chapter) I wanted a name to kind of show that Gizon is changing his legacy and future, and I feel the name fit (For Now), but it's not that dramatic, though I trying to so as Gizon isn't overly dramatic person. More down to earth like Eraserhead and a bit like Sir Nighteye and their demeaner.
Beyond that Ochaco and Momo go to Izuku to get some help with some support gear. I wonder what will happen when Class 1-A learns Izuku can build new equipment for them.
Next time: Someone makes good on a bet.
Next Chapter: Not Dramatic.
Review and tell me what you think.
