Everyone was shocked when the talking, squished head of Plastic Man came out of Clark's trousers, pulled himself out to reshape himself in their living-room back into the form of a normal human, while also looking around in the room confused.
Johnny was first stunned, but then extremely astonished when he realized that it was really Plastic Man who came out of his father's trousers…
"Huh… Where am I? And why I am with you and not with Superman anymore?" the elastic hero asked confused.
"WOW, PLASTIC MAN!" Johnny yelled full of excitement. His parents meanwhile were shocked.
"AGHH… CLARK… How did Plastic Man get into your trousers?" Lois yelled shocked.
Clark realized immediately that the supposed 'credit-card', he got from Beast Boy, was actually Plastic Man who shaped himself into this small piece so Beast Boy could carry him around easily as a bird. And he put him into his trunks, realizing that Plastic Man was somewhere, usually only Lois was allowed. And then he brought him here as a stowaway accidentally…
Plastic Man remembered that, too! But after Superman pushed him into his trunks, everything went so fast and suddenly he is here at this foreign place, and he was in the trousers of Lois Lane's husband?
"Where am I and where is Superman?" Plastic Man asked.
"WOW, SUPERMAN IS HERE, TOO? WHERE IS HE?" Johnny asked again, this time much louder and even more excited.
"Plastic Man, what are you doing here? And why you were in my husband's trousers?" Lois asked shocked.
The elastic shapeshifter was going to ruin everything! Ruin their family-moment? Ruining their careful attempt to tell Johnny the truth! He will bust them!
"Ehm… I don't know what happened!" Plastic Man said. Indeed, Clark's hypersonic flight was so fast that he got knocked out briefly. "I met with Beast Boy, who said he needs to talk to Superman about you, Miss Lane. And I joined him because I had some questions, too. But Superman pushed me into his trunks, and I heard that he said that he needs to look after his son before…"
Plastic Man stopped talking immediately when Lois stomped on his left foot hardly. Squishing it flat in the progress. It didn't hurt him, but it surprised the man, so he stopped talking.
"SUPERMAN HAS A SON, TOO?! THAT IS SO COOL!" the boy yelled even more excited. "Mister Plastic Man, is Superman here, too?"
"Ehm…" the elastic superhero looked on Clark who was extremely scared, then on Lois who was extremely mad, then on Jimmy, Martha and Jonathan who stood all behind Johnny and shacked their heads, making wild gestures to tell him to say no and then back on the boy who was smiling brighter than the sun and got closer. That was the moment, Plastic Man realized that the boy had a shocking similarity with Superman. "…oh… ehm… sorry young boy… but… ehm… I don't know where Superman is right now!"
In truth he realized that the man with the glasses was Superman and that his disguise was so dumb, that it was good again. Suddenly, Lois grabbed him by his left ear and pulled on it to stretch it two feet long. Lois, as the stubborn and relentless writer, came up with the necessary excuse.
"Superman, dropped you here, isn't it… Mister Plastic Man? Accidentally?"
"Ehm… yes… Sorry, I had no clue, that that was your husband's… husband…" Plastic Man wailed. Realizing that Lois Lane was married to Superman and that he was Clark Kent! "…I mean… ehm… I…"
"Can I have an autograph?" Johnny asked excited.
"Oh, of course…" Plastic Man said and stretched out his right arm to grab a pen from the desk at the other end of the room. Much to the amusement of the boy. "…for the son of S… aghh…"
Suddenly Plastic Man felt Lois' index-finger poking into his back violently trying to pinch him and he realized that the boy shouldn't know that.
"…I mean for the son of Lois Lane I would do everything…"
"Grandpa, Grandpa, Grandpa… where is that cool old camera that prints the photos directly?" the boy yelled excited.
"The old Polaroid camera? It's upstairs…" Jonathan Sr. said looking on Lois and Clark who both seemed to wish that Johnny would leave. At least for short. "Johnny, let's go upstairs and get the camera."
"YEAH!" Johnny yelled and ran upstairs to get the camera quickly.
"I'll try to keep him busy!" Jonathan said, following the boy.
"Wait, Jonathan… I'll help you!" Martha said, following her husband.
Once everyone was out of sight, Clark used his speed and his power, grabbed Plastic Man's head, and pulled him to the small office, where he smashed the door close and jammed the other hero's stretched neck in the door…
"Ouwch…"
"Listen, Plastic Man, I give you everything you want if you leave now! You come up with a lie and tell that Superman just left you here by accident and that you need to leave quick. And don't tell the boy my secret. That's what I wanted to do today!" Clark begged.
"Today?" Plastic Man said shocked and turned his head back on the door, where he saw his neck being jammed in. "Oh… So, YOU… put me into your trunks in the worst possible moment…"
Clark blushed when he heard that! Just thinking that this guy was in his trunks…
The door opened, Lois stormed in and smashed it close again, jamming Plastic Man's neck in it again.
"OUWCH… Do you have to do that?"
"Come on?" Lois wailed, using her hand to pull on the neck, stretching it even longer. "That doesn't hurt you!"
"No, it doesn't! I admit that!"
"Listen, one picture, the autograph and you leave. So, whatever you want from Superman must wait! At least till after we handled this mess here!" Lois begged.
Clark used his hand to grab Plastic Man below his face to pull it back to him to face him. "Please, Mister O'Brian… from Superhero-father to Superhero-father… don't ruin it! This situation difficult enough for us!"
Seeing Superman so desperate (and with glasses) and reminding him that he was a father, too and didn't have the luxury of a secret identity, let Plastic Man become moody.
"Okay, I'll leave in a minute!"
"No matter how many questions he asks and no matter how much you like to talk about yourself!" Lois warned. "Or my next article will reveal that your criminal past was even worse than the public thought!"
"30 Seconds!" Plastic Man offered scared.
Lois opened the door and they got out just in time when Johnny came down the stairs again, holding his grandfather's old Polaroid-camera in his hands with a bright smile on his face. With his neck still stretched, Plastic Man got his head closer to Johnny to smile on him, too.
"Nice camera! Okay, I don't have much time! Superheroes are always busy!"
"Okay…" Johnny said, giving his grandfather the camera so he can take the picture of him and Plastic Man.
Johnny made a heroic-pose, like Superman and Plastic Man made a similar one with his arms crossed. Just a few seconds after the flashlight. The picture came out of the camera. All black…
"Hey… why it is not coming!"
"You need to wait a minute for the picture to be developed!" Jonathan said, before he realized how upset that made Johnny's parents.
"Oh, Mr. Plastic Man this is so cool! I have so many questions!"
"And I would love to answer them all… but… ehm… unfortunately… there is a… Superhero-emergency I need to handle… in… Central City…"
"Isn't The Flash the Superhero of Central City?" Johnny asked frustrated. "Can't he handle it?"
"He is on vacation! Even heroes need that sometimes…" Plastic Man lied, took the finally developed picture and the pen to sign it. "For Johnny… have a plastastic time! Plastic Man! Here you go!"
"Oh, thank you! How far can you stretch? How does it feel? How do you…"
"Ehm… sorry, but I need to rush! But you know… your mom knows some things about me. She can answer you whatever you want! Oh and… please don't tell anyone that I was in your father's trousers! That was an accident. And I don't know how I got in there. It is also very embarrassing for me, so I would be really grateful if you could keep that for yourself!"
"Okay! I will never ever tell anyone!" Johnny smiled.
"Great! Your parents will be glad if you can keep a secret! Okay… bye! And once again, very sorry for this! And Miss Lane… Plastic Man stretched out his neck again to get with his head closer to Lois to whisper something into her air: "I don't tell anyone your secret, but I demand an explanation!"
"You'll get it later! Now leave!" Lois whispered back.
"Okay, bye…" Plastic Man yelled now and turned into a ball to roll out.
Johnny followed him and watched full of awe how Plastic Man, now a ball of the size of a basketball, rolled through the house, into the kitchen and then flattened himself to squish himself under the door slot of the backdoor and reshape into his normal form outside, where he stretched his arms to turn them into 'dragon-wings' and fly away into the rain. Johnny looked after him full of awe, wondering how it must feel to have superpowers.
Clark and Lois followed him to see that Johnny looked up to Plastic Man who was flying over the farm and looked around confused.
"Oh my god… where am I?" Clark heard him saying full of shock before Plastic Man flew out of sight and in the wrong direction. Metropolis was the other way.
"Wow, that was so cool! Plastic Man was in Grandma's and Grandpa's house! I need to call Lance and tell him!"
"Johnny, wait…" Lois yelled in fear and stopped the boy from leaving. "…you can't call Lance and tell him that!"
"And why?"
"Because… Plastic Man told you to don't tell anyone!" Lois answered.
"He said, I can't tell anyone that he was in Daddy's trousers, but not that I met him!" Johnny responded smartly.
"Johnny… come to the living-room! We explain you everything!" Clark told and together they went back.
Everyone was visibly shocked and upset about Plastic Man's surprise visit. If Clark had noticed that the credit-card was actually him, it wouldn't have happened. But for that Johnny was as happy as never before.
"I hope he tells Beast Boy were we are! I would be so cool to meet him, too!" the boy raved. "Even cooler!"
"Oh, you will…" Clark murmured abashed, imagining that it could indeed happen soon, while they all sat down in the living-room again. "…Well… Johnny, there is something we need to talk about…"
Suddenly the phone rang…
"AGGHH… Oh…" Clark shrieked scared when the phone rang. "…Sorry… what…"
The phone continued ringing… and it made Clark nervous…
"Excuse me!" Martha said and went to the phone to pick up. "Hello… Oh hello, Millie… ehm, Millie, may I call you back later, it is not a good moment now… okay… bye!"
Martha hang off, turned the answering machine on and went back.
"Sorry… continue Clark!"
"Okay… where were I…" Clark said before suddenly Lois' phone rang loudly, causing Clark to shiver again. "…LOIS?!"
"Wait…" she said, looking on the display to see that Perry called. "…agh… Perry knows we are not in town. I'll call him back!"
Lois blocked the call and smiled innocently.
"Sorry!"
"Okay… Johnny, it is about a secret we would like to…"
Suddenly Lois phone rang again. And once again it was Perry…
"Lois, your phone makes me nervous!"
"Aghh…" Lois moaned and accepted the call only to get rid of Perry. "Perry, I call you back…"
"NO, LOIS! You tell me now how you could sent Cat on a werewolf-hunt?"
"What? I never did that!"
"She said you gave her the USB stick with the information. And now she is missed!"
"She is going to reappear. And the werewolf is probably just a hoax." Lois moaned. "Perry, I promise you that I will call you back. We have a little crisis here!"
"Our paper is slipping into a crisis once we start reporting about werewolves. Why not writing about unicorns and fairies, too?" Perry moaned.
"Perry, you know Cat. She likes to exaggerate. I call you back…"
"Lois, this is going to have consequences…" everyone heard Perry yelling before Lois ended the call and turned her phone on mute.
"I call him back!" Lois said abashed.
"Okay…" Clark murmured while also switching his phone to mute to don't be interrupted again. Jimmy did the same. "…Johnny, what happened in your School on Wednesday let all of us realize that…"
KNOCK… KNOCK… KNOCK…
The loud knocks, that sound more like slaps against the front door let Clark shiver again.
"Hello, I am trying to find the right words here!" Clark yelled before he used his x-ray-vision to see his father-in-law Sam standing on the porch. "Lois… your father is here!"
"WHAT?" now Lois shrieked and rushed to the door.
Sam Lane was one of the last people they needed now. It felt as if the entire universe was fooling them. Anyway, Lois thought that her father was on a conference at a military base somewhere else.
When Lois opened the door she was even more shocked, since Sam had not his trademark grumpy face, but a shy smile on his face.
"Hello, Lois!"
"What are you doing here?" Lois asked shocked. No Hello, no polite greeting… just shock…
"I wanted to say hello!"
"GRANDPA!" Johnny yelled happily when he spotted Sam in the open door and rushed over to hug his grandfather.
"Hey, young man…" Sam said friendly and hugged him back. "Sorry for cancelling our trip!"
Sam was indeed here to apologize to his grandson. But latter was still so thrilled by meeting Plastic Man that he already forgot that he was mad on Sam…
"Grandpa, Plastic Man was here!" the boy said full of joy and showed the General the autograph he just got.
"What?" Sam yelled shocked and took the polaroid to see by himself. "When?"
"Right now? That was so cool! He said he met Superman, but does not know how he got here…"
"Johnny, your grandfather has not much time! I am sure you can tell him the story later!" Lois begged before thinking: 'After we explained to you how important it is to hide Superhero-stuff from your grandfather!' "Dad, sorry, the boy is so easy to impress!"
"You have meetings with Plastic Man?!" Sam asked shocked. "When the boy is present?"
"No… he surprisingly appeared!" Lois said and turned to Johnny. "And don't forget that you promised him to don't tell anyone!"
"Oh… sorry!" Johnny smiled took the picture again and left. "I hope Beast Boy comes next!"
Sam was even more shocked…
"Dad, what are you doing here? And where do you know that we are here?"
"You wrote me that on WhatsApp, Lois! And I thought about what you told me at the phone…" Sam said, looking after Johnny and imagining the former criminal here at the farm. "…and… then I heard about the flood in his school, and I realized that you were right…"
Sam didn't get it out of his head… Plastic Man! A man who used to be a criminal! Getting shapeshifting powers during a burglary into a chemical-plant! A man who should actually serve years in prison!
"Dad?"
"Lois, is there something you hide from me?"
"What do you mean with that?" Lois asked scared. There was a lot they hide!
"First Superman saves my grandson in his school? And now Plastic Man appears here? What happens next? Did you hide Wonder Woman in there, too?"
"No… but I would love to meet her one day!" Lois smiled. "Dad, you still didn't answer my question!"
"Okay… so… I felt bad about that Johnny was so disappointed and after the flood, I thought he needs a encouragement! And since he has no school next week, I thought about going on the fishing-trip on Tuesday!"
"Thursday!" Lois demanded, suddenly thinking that it would be the perfect reason for them to avoid the fieldtrip to LexCorp.
"Thursday morning departs my flight to Zurich!" Sam countered.
"No chance to change the flight?"
"No! Let's ask Johnny what he wants! JOHNNY…"
"Yes, grandpa!" the boy said.
"What would you say if we do our fishing-trip on Tuesday! As a compensation that we couldn't go today! And we go to the bigger lake!"
"The bigger lake?! Yeah!" the boy cheered.
"He decides!" Sam said with a smile.
"Fine, so I have to come up with another excuse for the fieldtrip to LexCorp!" Lois moaned.
"LexCorp?!" now Sam was curious. "The headquarters of the man you, your husband, your friends and Superman have a feud with?!"
"Yes!"
Sam knew that Lex and Lois were not what they could call friends and he didn't like the thought of Johnny being at LexCorp, too.
"I could take the boy to Switzerland with me, there he would be safe?"
"Thank you for the offer! But that would go too far!" Lois said and accompanied her father through the rain back to his car. "And… thank you for driving 50 miles detour just to tell Johnny in person that you are sorry! It proves that you really care!"
"He is my grandson, Lois! I know I was not always the best father for your and Lucy, but I want to make better!" Sam said before he turned to Lois to face her directly. "I need to leave now, but as soon as we see each other again, I demand answers about the Plastic Man incident!"
"I will investigate it!" Lois lied professionally and waited till her father sat in his car and drove away.
Lois waited for Sam's SUV to vanish behind the corner before she went back inside and locked the front door. Then she closed the curtains of the living-room windows and shoed everyone back in there so they could get over it…
"Okay… Clark… where were we?"
"Lois… I need a second…"
"Clark don't procrastinate it! We tell Johnny now!"
"Tell me what?"
"The family-secret!" Lois and Clark said at once and blushed.
"We have a family-secret?" the boy smiled.
"Yes… and it is important that you never ever tell anyone!" Clark continued. "Johnny… you noticed that your mother and I work so much and don't have much time. There is a specific reason for it…"
Suddenly the phone rang again…
"Aghh… Ma, please unplug it!"
"This is a bad joke, isn't it?" Lois wailed and turned pale. The machine didn't pick up the call.
Martha rushed to the phone to brush it off. But the moment she picked up the call a man yelled on the other end…
"LOIS LANE-KENT! I KNOW SHE IS AT YOUR PLACE!" Perry's angry voice demanded.
"Awww…" Lois moaned, lift from the couch, and went to the phone to brush Perry off again by herself. "…Perry, I told you I will handle it…"
"Cat is missing! She went to that Karate-school in New Troy and now the police is there, too! What was on the USB-stick you gave to her?" Perry demanded angrily.
"I don't know! My neighbor gave it to me yesterday morning. He is a Superman-fanatic, and it was not the first time he came up with a crazy story to…"
"I swear you; you will face the consequences for it!"
"Perry, I get it and I promise that I will handle it and take the whole possible fallout. But please we have a crisis here and don't need more disturbs. Worse enough that Plastic Man was in Clark's trousers… aghh…"
Lois held her mouth while Clark put his hands on his trousers embarrassed.
"What?"
"Lois… please! I don't want the people to read it in the paper tomorrow!" Clark yelled embarrassed. He didn't want the colleagues to have something to make fun about him.
"Lois, what is that meaning? Are you drunk?"
"I'll handle Cat! Bye, Perry!" Lois said, smashed the horn back on the receiver and then she took the phone, unplugged it, wrapped the cable around it and put the whole phone into a drawler before walking back. "Okay… where were we!"
"The family-secret, right!" Clark said looking around nervously.
The phone was unplugged, their smartphones turned to mute, the curtains closed and with his x-ray-vision he checked that nobody was outside.
"Okay, Johnny… it's so that…" Clark continued before suddenly a car honked in the distance and it let him shriek again. "….aghh… okay… that was just Mr. Branden who overrun a stop-sign again… Johnny… We love you and we tell you this now, because it is time that you finally know. It will affect your whole life from now. Forcing you to not being able to do some things you might want to? But… you know… the past few days made it clear that we…"
Suddenly the car honked again… with his x-ray-vision, Clark could see the green pick-up truck of Cobb Branden (their long time neighbor) coming up the driveway and parking next to their car.
"What is Mr. Branden doing here now?" Clark asked.
The next one to disturb. It was difficult enough for them without constant disturbing…
Cobb Branden jumped out of his car and rushed to the front door to ring. Clark rushed to the door, too to brush him off.
"Good morning, Mr. Branden!" Clark smiled innocently.
Clark's heart was pounding. His pace pale and hands were trembling. Mr. Branden meanwhile looked like he saw a ghost.
"Is everything all right here?" the man asked.
"Yes! Why it shouldn't?"
"My wife and I saw a flying something with big wings flying over your property. It looked like a dragon!"
Clark signed. That was Plastic Man with his arms shaped into wings. The people of Smallville are not used to superheroes.
"I am sure you must have mistaken! There is no dragon here!"
"But… what was that? It was not a bird and no plane!"
"Well whatever it was, it's not here anymore!" Clark said. "Everything is fine! Goodbye Mr. Branden… see you at the next town-fest."
Clark closed the door again and went back to the living-room…
"Sorry… okay, where…"
Suddenly there was a knock on the other living-room window. The one at the rear site of the house.
"What now?" Clark moaned slowly getting upset.
When he opened the curtains at the rear window, everyone was stunned when they saw Plastic Man again. Smiling awkwardly.
"WOW, Plastic Man is back!" Johnny cheered.
Full of shock, Clark opened the window to talk to the other superhero.
"What?"
"Excuse me, I know that is not good right now. But could you tell me where I am and how to get back to the city?"
"Smallville!" Johnny said happy about seeing Plastic Man again.
"Smallville?! Okay, and how I get…"
"Wait, I come outside and show you!" Clark yelled, and smashed the window close, squeezing Plastic Man's head in it.
"Hey…" the squished head said annoyed.
"Oh, sorry…" Clark wailed, opened the window again, pushed Plastic Man out, closed the window so hard again that the class got a crack and rushed to the rear door. "…I'll be back soon…"
"DADDY DADDY… I want to see Plastic Man again, too!" Johnny yelled and followed his father under the loud protest of his mother, his grandparents and Jimmy.
But the moment Clark was out of his son's view, he used his superspeed to get out, grab Plastic Man, who was laying in a puddle of mud, folded him into a flat and more compact form and flew with him away at supersonic speed that let the house vibrate. When Johnny arrived outside, his father and Plastic Man were nowhere to be seen…
At high speed Clark flew back to Metropolis till he reached the outskirts and stopped to unwrap Plastic Man who was dazed and confused from the high speed…
"Listen, Plastic Man, I am in stress… please do me a favor and no disturbs anymore…" Clark wailed.
"Aww… where… oh…" Plastic Man was still flat and shacked himself to get back into a normal shape before looking at Clark, who was now Superman again. "…oh… you didn't tell your son yet?"
"No! Because every time I try…" Clark wailed before suddenly a green falcon landed on his arm that transformed into a young green man that was now sitting on it.
"SUPERMAN… what was that before?" Beast Boy wailed. "Did you say something about a son?"
"He tries to tell his son today that he is Superman!" Plastic Man told.
"Wait, you have a secret identity?" Beast Boy added. "And you really have a son?"
"STOP!" Clark yelled. He reached out his arms to hold his both passengers by their suits right in front of him to face them. "Listen, for hours I am trying to have the most difficult conversation I will ever have with my son…"
"More difficult than the talk about were the babies come from?" Beast Boy interfered.
"There is no time for jokes! Listen, this day is about to change my life and that of my entire family forever. So, please do me a favor and don't disturb. Please go and take care of this supposed werewolf in the city for me!"
And with that Clark threw the other two superheroes away like baseballs. Plastic Man and Beast Boy screamed in fear before vanishing in the clouds and Clark speeded away to the farm. They can both fly he thought!
"Daddy, where are you?" Johnny's voice said in his ears, which led Clark to fly faster.
"Johnny, please come back inside again!" Lois' voice said.
Clark flew even faster. The whole world became a blur and within a second he was back on the farm where he landed with a loud thud on the muddy ground. Mud got sprayed on the cars and the house and Clark got a lot of mud on his suit and his boots, too. But he didn't care…
But much to his horror, there was a witness of his arrival…
"SUPERMAN!" Johnny cheered loudly.
Clark turned to his son and became pale again…
