Chapter 14: Restless Night
After leaving Deep Jungle, everyone decided to take the time to the next world to get some sleep. The only problem, Sora was unable to fall asleep. He tried reading some books, he rearranged his three Keyblades on the racks of his room, he tried pacing in his room… Nothing worked. Finally, Sora decided to check in on everyone. He walked to the cockpit and found Beezee working there.
Sora: Hey Beezee, everything working fine up here?
Beezee said in Droidspeak, or Binary, that the Ebon Hawk was flying well and on schedule to the next world. Unfortunately, Sora was still trying to understand Beezee's language.
Sora: I only understood a small amount of that beeping but you basically said there's nothing wrong.
Beezee said yes and Sora left him. He passed by the Communication Station and found Stone fast asleep on his chair. The only piece of his armor he took off was his helmet. Jiminy, on the other hand, was writing in his journal until he saw Sora.
Jiminy: Sora, everything okay?
Sora: (As Jiminy hopped to him) Yeah, just having a hard time falling asleep.
Jiminy: Well, that's not a good sign. Come on, let's get a snack.
Jiminy sat on the holo-table as Sora opened a chocolate bar from the mini-fridge.
Sora: (Breaking a piece off for Jiminy) Here, Jiminy.
Jiminy: Thanks.
Sora: (Eating) So, you have anyone you miss from your home, Jiminy?
Jiminy: I… Was close to a special boy. He had a hard time knowing what the right thing was.
Sora: You think he's okay?
Jiminy: I can only hope so.
Sora finished his chocolate bar as Jiminy started his.
Sora: I'm gonna check on the others.
Jiminy hopped back to his bunk as Sora got up. Sora found Sparky sleeping, curled up around his ball. Sparky got around it tight enough for it to pop out of his embrace to Sora's feet. Sparky started to noticed this and whimpered. Sora placed the ball back on Sparky and he started to calm down. Sora turned on Sparky's cassette player and it started playing 'Aloha Oe'. Sora walked to Dolly's room and found her asleep on her hammock. She had a plush Dalmatian in her arms. Sora felt sorry for Dolly. Part of him felt responsible for Dolly being here.
Sora: I'm sorry, Dolly. I promise I'll figure out a way to get you home.
Sora rubbed his right eye, starting to feel sleepy. He walked over to Donald and Goofy's room and found the duo asleep. Donald was in a bunk, sleeping normally. While Goofy was in a hammock like Dolly's, snoring, which comedically caused his hat to go up and down.
Sora: Gotta be nice being on a mission with your best friend.
Sora walked back to his room. As he drifted to sleep, his thoughts turned to Riku Saori. He and Riku had been best friends and rivals for a long time. He dreamed of his memories of the time they had.
Sora: (Falling asleep) I'll find you, Riku.
