Chapter 20: The Power of Magic
As everyone looked for Pinocchio, Dolly noticed Goofy's new weapon. It a broken broadsword. The handle and guard were intact, but most of the blade was clearly destroyed. This was Acharn.
Dolly: Nice blade, Goofy.
Goofy: Thanks, Dolly. I thought I could use it as a tool than a weapon.
Everyone searched everywhere in town until they went into the waterway. They found Leon training there.
Sora: Leon, we need your help!
Everyone told Leon about Pinocchio vanishing and he said he hadn't seen him. They brought him up to speed on everything else.
Leon: So you found two Keyholes.
Group: Keyholes?
Sora: It must've been what the Keyblade locked.
Leon: Every world has a Keyhole that leads to heart of that world. There must be one here in town, too.
Dolly: Why are these Keyholes important?
Leon: The Heartless enters worlds through the Keyholes and do something to the world's core. If you hadn't locked the Keyholes in Wonderland and Deep Jungle, a lot of innocent people would've been hurt when the world is destroyed.
Donald felt ashamed. If they had left Deep Jungle alone, it would have been destroyed.
Sora: Looks like we got another mission: Find our friends, help people in need, and seal the Keyholes to the worlds.
Stone: We'll have to keep an eye on Olympus Coliseum. We didn't find a Keyhole there.
Sora: First we keep looking around town for Pinocchio.
Leon: (Bringing a Gem out) Here, take this with you. This stone has mysterious power. I've been carrying it for luck. You take it.
Dolly took it, thinking it might be useful. Everyone left Leon and kept looking around town. They soon found a door with a fire picture on it. Donald performed a fire spell and the door opened. Everyone went inside and found an old shack inside.
Sora: Maybe Pinocchio inside.
Sora stepped forward, but Dolly stopped him.
Dolly: I'll go inside first.
Dolly went inside before the others.
Dolly: It's just an empty room.
Everyone went inside and nothing was inside. Suddenly, books and furniture poofed inside followed by an elderly wizard in a light blue outfit.
?: (Stumbling a bit) Oh, dear.
Sora and Dolly walked over and took an arm before the man collapsed to the ground.
Sora: Easy, sir.
Dolly: (Guiding him to a chair) Right this way.
?: Thank you, children. (Taking a seat) Your good children. Reminds me a good lad, Arthur. (Seeing Sora) Aw, excellent timing, lad.
Sora: (Looking at the others) Uh, you knew we were coming?
?: Oh, yes. Merlin is my name. I'm a sorcerer. The king asked me to meet with you.
Goofy: King Mickey?
Merlin: Yes, indeed. Donald, Goofy. But who might the rest of you be?
Stone: Commander Stone, sir.
Sparky: Meega Sparky.
Dolly: Dolly Dalmatian.
Sora: And I'm Sora Kirkson.
Merlin: Excellent. And you have the Keyblade. Perfect.
Donald: What did the King ask you to do?
Merlin: To train Sora in the mystic arts. I have a room for you to do that.
Stone: Perfect. (Taking the lightsaber out) You can also train with this.
Merlin: A lightsaber?! No, no, no, no! Sora here is to train with the Keyblade and his magic. His path is not with that weapon.
Stone was about to argue but Sora stopped him.
Sora: It's okay, Stone. You can hang onto it for when we need it. I want you to keep it safe.
Stone: (Touched by Sora's trust) I'll guard it with my life, sir.
Merlin: (Smiling) Excellent, a Keyblade Wielder with a good heart. Oh, one more thing…
Everyone saw a Pumpkin Carriage and a woman in light blue clothes appeared.
?: Hello, dearies. I'm the Fairy Godmother. The king also asked for me to help, too.
Dolly: (Walking up to heart) Thank you, ma'am.
Merlin: Why don't we get started and your friends can relax?
Merlin took Sora to the training session. Two hours later, Sora came back to his friends.
Dolly: How do you feel, Boss?
Sora: (Summoning Jungle King) Stronger than ever.
Merlin: Excellent. Oh, would you kids mind running an errand for me. Your friend, Cid, has been working on a book I asked him to resort.
Dolly: (Taking the Gem out) Sure, but before we go can you tell us what this is?
Fairy Godmother: Of course, deary. This little creature lived in a world that was consumed by darkness. When a world vanishes, so does its inhabitants.
Dolly's heart ached at the thought of her family.
Fairy Godmother: But this one had such a strong heart, he became a gem instead of vanishing. You'll be able to summon him when you need help. It will take a lot of your magic energy, so be careful.
Sora and friends left to do Merlin's errand.
