Kingdom Hearts: The Dalmatian Bodyguard
Chapter 38: Busted
Ariel led her new friends to her Grotto. For some reason, the Heartless didn't bother coming near it. It was a huge cave that went upward. All along the rocks were all sorts of human items Ariel salvaged.
Dolly: Nice collection, Ariel.
Ariel: Thanks. Flounder and I have gathered all sorts of stuff.
Sora found the last page of Pooh's story book and secretly hid it.
Ariel: I think this stuff is from another world. Someday, I want to see what's out there. (Chuckling) Sounds weird, huh?
Sora: (Smiling) Not at all. I feel the same way.
Ariel: Hey, why don't I help you guys find that Keyhole?
Donald: But your father said…
Ariel: (Frustrated) Oh, he treats me like a little girl. He never wants to let me do anything. (As Sebastian secretly overhears everything) He just… He just doesn't understand.
Goofy: Know anyplace we should start looking?
Ariel: There's an old shipwreck not far from here. The Heartless don't seem interested in it.
Ariel began to lead them to the shipwreck. As they left the Grotto, two Moray Eels with different colored eyes watched them like vultures stalking a dying animal. These were Flotsam and Jetstam. Their eyes served their mistress, Ursala. The Octopus Sea Witch watch them approach the wreck.
Ursala: Those impudent fools will never find the Keyhole. But the girl might prove useful. All I have to do is make the Heartless leave them alone for a bit.
Ariel led her friends to an old sea galleon.
Dolly: Wow, this is amazing.
Everyone swam towards it, unaware that a hungry shark was swimming around.
Sora: This is impressive.
Dolly found an old metal hairbrush riddled with barnacles.
Dolly: A little cleaning and this will be a good souvenir.
Everyone found an old chest at the end of the room. They were about to open the chest when the shark burst in, trying to chomped them. Donald and Dolly fired at him and he swam out.
Dolly: He's probably still outside, waiting for us.
Sora: Let's worry about that after we search the ship.
Sora opened the chest and everyone saw a strange crystal in the shape of a trident.
Ariel: It's beautiful… And strangely familiar.
Everyone searched the galleon for the Keyhole but came up empty.
Donald: Well, that was frustrating.
Goofy: And the shark is still outside.
Sora: We can take him.
Ariel: (Getting the crystal) You're not scared?
Dolly: Of that oversized piranha? He'll be lucky we don't hurt him too badly.
Ariel, Goofy, and Donald swam out as Sora and Dolly charged at the shark. He tried to chomp them but they were too fast.
Dolly: What's the matter, Tiny? Can't catch a speeding meal?
Sora: Dolly, lead him towards me!
Dolly sped towards Sora. Dolly passed Sora as he swung the Olympia Keyblade at the shark and smashed his teeth. The shark screamed in pain and looked at Sora.
Sora: BOO!
The shark sped off; thinking was going to break more. Sora and Dolly met back up with the others at Ariel's Grotto. She led them to a stone with a slot of the crystal. Ariel placed the crystal inside.
Triton: Ariel, you've disobeyed me again! (As everyone turned and saw King Triton enter) I told you not to leave the palace!
Everyone saw Sebastian with a guilty expression, having ratted them out. Triton gasped at seeing the crystal. Triton raised his triton, ready to fire.
Ariel: Daddy, no!
Right in front of Ariel's eyes, Triton destroyed the crystal.
Ariel: (Heartbroken) How could you?
Ariel swam off. Dolly was so mad, she drew Yubashiri.
Triton: Don't even think about it. None of you are from another ocean. You all are from another world.
Sora and friends were stunned by Triton's knowledge.
Dolly: Busted.
Triton: (Pointing to Sora) You must be the key bearer.
Sora: How did you know?
Triton: You may fool Ariel, but you can't fool me. As the key bearer, you must already know… One must not meddle in the affairs of other worlds.
Dolly: That doesn't mean we should stand by and do nothing while innocent people need help!
Sora: Dolly's right.
Triton: While I understand your frustration and agree with your intentions, you have, none the less, violated this principle. The key bearer shatters peace and brings ruin.
Goofy: Sora's not like that.
Triton: (Leaving) I thank you for saving my daughter but there is no room in my ocean for you or your key.
Sora summoned Olympia and stared at it, wondering if he'd been doing the right thing. Sebastian tried to sneak away, but Dolly spotted him and started blasting him as pay back.
Dolly: Don't doubt the actions you've done, Sora. Doing the right thing is never a mistake.
Donald: So what do we do now?
Sora: … We find Ariel and comfort her. Then we find the Keyhole.
Meanwhile, Ariel was crying by a rock all alone. But soon, she wasn't alone.
Flotsam: My, my, the poor child suffers such deep sorrow.
Jetstam: (Circling with him) What a pity. I f only there something we could do… (As Ariel finally noticed her guests) Wait. Maybe she can be of some help.
Flotsam: Yes. Maybe she can be of some help to you.
Ariel: Who are you talking about?
Jetstam: Oh, she would surely help you. She'd make all your dreams come true.
The duo twirled together than vanished as Ursala appeared.
Ariel: You're Ursula? I was just wondering if…
Ursula: It's all right. Helping others is what I live for. Let me guess: You want to see other worlds. Eh, that shouldn't be too hard. After all… Your new friends came from another world.
Ariel: What?
Ursula used her magic to show Ariel the Ebon Hawk circling above.
Ursula: But, as you can see, they had special help… Their ship and the boy's key
Ariel grew upset. She trusted her them and they were lying to her the whole time Ursula smiled evilly. Her plan was working better than she hoped. She had hoped to make Ariel sad enough to help her, but now she saw she destroyed the child's trust in her friends.
Ursula: Now, now. Cheer up, sweetie. You have something special, too.
Ariel perked up as Ursula whispered something to her.
