Chapter 2: Vega 40's Trauma
Vegapunk the 40th was born alongside her twin, Talos to Test and Vegapunk the 39th 16 years ago in an abandoned island 16 years ago that was used in a hunting competition for the World Nobles during one of their purges.
However, agents of the World Government spotted Test, and she was kidnapped. She was taken to a secret lab of Jaygarcia Saturn of the Elders and one of his many begotten children, Applerock the 777th.
The infants, Vega 40 and Talos were placed into tubes as needles pierced into their skin. Already repulsive, it became worse as they were injected with nanomachines that altered their Lineage Factor to become more mechanical.
Their father, Vegapunk the 39th managed to rescue them in time, rescuing them from the tubes, but unfortunately had to leave their mother behind much to his regret.
He didn't know where to turn to so he went to the other Vegapunk- the Beta- known for his big brain and well-intentioned heart, finding him at one of his labs.
The long-tongued scientist opened the door to see the 39th bleeding with two infants in his arms.
"What happened?" Vegapunk Beta looked horrified as he rushed over.
"They're going to be helping the Dawn. I understand what Dad meant. Hopefully, Frank can meet with them. I've done nothing for him to deserve any love from him.," he said before he fainted.
The Beta then took the children and placed them on soft beds.
Over the next few years after explaining Test's fate and what had been done to the infants, Beta helped with the 39th's research into the OLD WORLD to locate Daemon Plants to recede their mutated condition.
Vega 40 had the powers of the Robot-Robot, Beaver-Beaver, and a third while Talos had the Satellite-Satellite. The Beta noticed the former had a bit of an ego while the latter was more reserved but less empathetic than the former.
Beta kept their existence secret from Clown, knowing that he'd sell them out for the reward on the former Rocks Pirate and the missing children of Saturn's experiments. The 39th couldn't turn to Kaido or Big Mom as they were too selfish and Whitebeard was too vulnerable to bear that burden alongside him.
As the 39th slept, Beta awoke to see Guernika showing up on his doorstep, barging into his room and grabbing the toddler girls.
"He wasn't careful enough. We've been tracking you and your hideaway. It's only natural we get them from you...since Test is his daughter...and they should see their grandfather.," he said as he kicked the long-skulled man before leaving.
"Don't go after us. Future Land Baldimore might be selected for a test site in case you're less concerned about the funding.," said the Agent as the toddlers squirmed. Beta fell to his knees from the Conquerors Haki of the other agent as they left.
The 39th woke up and dashed after them. He managed to corner them, pushing the daughters of his grasp, with Vega 40 turning to grab Talos.
"To Keep the Dusk and Silence the sun.," said one of the CP0 Agents.
To her horror, Talos fired on her father and attempted to do the same to her sister. Her eyes had a blank expression almost like being mentally overridden. Guerinka proceeded to grab the other twin and leave.
Vega 40 felt extremely guilty over her father as he struggled to walk back.
The following day, he was only able to get back Vega 40 while bleeding, causing him to turn into a full cyborg to survive.
Over the following decade, Vega 40 would relive the same memory of Talos turning on her family and dreading another encounter like that.
She then opened her eyes to see the new ship she was on with the Straw Hat Pirates.

Author Notes: After the oddly comedic romance, this goes into the very dark territory of unethical experimentation and the implication that Talos might be a Manchurian Agent with Vega 40 maybe worrying about being one as well.
While Bonney was experimented on, she merely got the Age-Age Fruit that benefited her, and her Sapphire Disease was inherited from her mother. While she had it bad in a morally repulsive way in terms of how she was conceived, Vega 40 was essentially made into a cyborg just as shortly after she was born along with her twin by her own grandparent and would've been subjected to who knows what if her dad didn't save her in time, a different yet scientific amoral manner that reads as just as revolting.
On a much lighter note, we'll be doing an intrelude segment next chapter.
