Legacies and Lightning: Chapter 12
Naruto vs Aoi
Naruto rushed towards Aoi with his red lightning cloak surrounding him and his Fuma Shuriken in his hand; Naruto began to spin his Fuma Shuriken and the lightning covered weapon looked like a red disk in Naruto's hand.
Naruto swung the shuriken towards Aoi using it as a melee weapon and Aoi raised up his 'Sword of The Thunder God' to defend himself; Naruto's Fuma Shuriken collided with Aoi's sword and both Naruto and Aoi pushed to gain dominance.
The two weapons sent stray bolts of lightning off in random directions scorching the earth and creating blinding flashes of light; Aoi despite being under attack smiled.
'He's not being shocked by my sword; looks like his cloak can protect him better than I expected' Aoi thought as she grit his teeth 'but that won't be good enough to stop me'. Aoi broke the dead lock by kicking Naruto in the chest sending him stumbling back a few feet before slashing at him with his sword.
Naruto ducked back avoiding the slash as it missed by mere inches; Naruto slashed in return with his Fuma Shuriken and Aoi dodged to the side. Naruto and Aoi were slashing and moving almost like a dance as they both avoided each others strikes.
Aoi slashed towards Naruto's feet trying to cut his legs off and Naruto jumped backwards doing a flip and a spin mid air "suck this" Naruto shouted as he threw his Fuma shuriken towards Aoi.
Aoi saw the blade flying towards him in an attempt to cut his head off and ducked down and the Fuma shuriken went past him heading to the woods; the Fuma shuriken cut through a tree like a buzz saw before Naruto pointed his hand at it.
'Lightning Style: Static strings' Naruto thought as he sent several strings towards his Fuma Shuriken and got a hold of it; Naruto using the strings pulled it back towards Aoi who was surprised at Naruto doing this.
"Shit" Aoi cursed as he dodged to the side just as the Fuma shuriken passed him; Aoi was cut across his cheek leaving a small one inch cut as he narrowly avoided the attack. The Shuriken returned to Naruto who caught it and looked at Aoi.
"Close shave huh?" Naruto said with a smirk and Aoi looked at him.
"Impressive" Aoi said before pointing his sword at him "but two can play at that game"; Aoi took out several shuriken and threw them at Naruto before rushing in behind them.
Naruto instinctively used his Fuma shuriken to block the shuriken knocking them out of the air just as Aoi approached him; Naruto slashed with his shuriken at Aoi parried the attack with his sword before twisting the blade and catching the fuma shuriken through the hole where Naruto's hand was.
Aoi attempted to slice Naruto's fingers off but Naruto pulled his hand out at the last second and Aoi tossed the shuriken away and slashed at Naruto who jumped back at the last second; Aoi had cut Naruto across his body leaving a 3 inch cut near his shoulder but not across his chest.
Naruto landed and looked at his chest, luckily was wearing the armor that he and Yakumo bought from Tenten's weapons shop and this along with his lightning cloak, protected the rest of his body.
Naruto let out a sigh of relief at this 'Tenten I owe you one' Naruto thought before looking at Aoi.
Naruto went through hand signs "Lightning Style: Lightning Bolt" Naruto said before he pointed his hand at Aoi and fired a bolt of lightning at him. Aoi put his sword in front of himself and the bolt hit and was absorbed into the sword which began to crackle more.
"Looks like you're not as weak as you look" Aoi said to Naruto "you're putting up a decent fight". Naruto made a hand sign and a puff of smoke erupted on his back and his fixed blade Fuma Shuriken appeared; Naruto looked to Aoi and spoke.
"I haven't even begun to fight yet" Naruto said as he went through hand signs "Lightning clone jutsu"; Naruto created 20 lightning clones before he and his clones grabbed their Fuma Shurikens and looked at Aoi. "Come get some bitch" Naruto shouted and Aoi charged in attacking Naruto and his superior numbers.
Anko, Kurenai and Yakumo vs Oboro, Mubi and Kagari
Anko, Kurenai and Yakumo were fighting Aoi's team of Ame genin and so far things were more difficult than they expected; Oboro and his team were using a mixture of mud clones and subterranean earth jutsu to fight.
All 3 women were fighting non stop as dozens of mud clones popped out of the ground and attacked them using sheer numbers to try and over power them.
"Raaah" Anko roared as she punched a Oboro mud clone in the head destroying it; Anko spun around and sent a kick towards a Mubi mud clone kicking it in half splattering it on the ground. Anko was about to move until a hand rose from the ground and grabbed her foot.
The hand pulled Anko's foot into the ground about calve deep and several more mud clones came out of the ground and attacked; Anko seeing this took out some shuriken and threw them towards the clones hitting and dispelling them.
Anko using all her leg strength pulled herself out of the mud and shook it off; as soon as she did that some more clones were rising out of the ground and she went through hand signs.
"Fire Style: Majestic flames jutsu" Anko said as she fired a stream of fire at the clones hitting them and destroying them; Anko looked around as more and more clones appeared "this is getting fucking annoying".
Kurenai was dual wielding kunai and slashing mud clones as they tried to over whelm her; Kurenai slashed at 2 Kagari mud clones slicing their heads off and destroying them. A hand shot out of the ground under Kurenai attempting to pull her into the ground but unlike Anko, Kurenai was fast enough to avoid it.
Kurenai jumped into the air and threw the kunai in her left hand towards the hand in the ground; the kunai hit the hand and pierced through the palm. Kurenai say blood and realized she hit one of the Ame ninja; the hand went back into the ground as Kurenai landed.
"They're under us; none of the ones attacking us are the real ones" Kurenai shouted as she began to attack the mud clones once more.
Yakumo ducked under a punch from a mud clone and retaliated with a punch to the stomach; Yakumo's fist went through the clones stomach and her arm went through it's body up to her elbow. The clone was not destroyed yet and attempted to hit Yakumo with a hammer fist but Yakumo strikes first.
Using her flexibility Yakumo with her right arm still inside the mud clone sent a rising kick in between the eight gap between her and the clone and kicked it in the head. The clone dispelled back into mud that fell to the ground.
Yakumo looked around herself and saw 4 mud clones coming in from all sides; Yakumo charged her feet with chakra and jumped above them and took out a kunai with an explosive tag on it.
Yakumo threw the kunai which landed in between the group of mud clones and exploded destroying the clones and leaving a smoking crater; Yakumo landed in the middle of the crater as more and more mud clones came out.
'Naruto, please hurry up' Yakumo thought as she got ready to fight again.
With Naruto
Naruto and his clones were having a hard time fighting Aoi; so far in the past three minutes he's destroyed half of Naruto's 20 lightning clones. Naruto was growing frustrated as he was trying to figure out what he could do to beat him.
Aoi slashed another lightning clone cutting it in half and destroying it; however the clone did not explode into lightning, instead it was absorbed into Aoi sword and the sword began to crackle.
Naruto and his other clones all charged in surrounding Aoi who smirked as he reached behind himself and grabbed the handle of his umbrella 'dumbass' Aoi thought as he pulled out the umbrella and opened it. Aoi threw the umbrella into the air and it began to spin; Naruto looked up at the umbrella and got a bad feeling from it.
Aoi made a hand sign "Ninja Art: Senbon Rainstorm" Aoi shouted; the umbrella began to fire hundreds of poisoned senbon around a large area and Naruto seeing this went through hand signs and charged as much chakra as he could into his core.
"Lightning Style: Taser Shockwave" Naruto's red lightning cloak exploded away from his body as he was now back into his normal state; the explosion of lightning blew away all the senbon going towards him.
Meanwhile the rest of the senbon destroyed the remaining clones and Aoi went wide eyed at what Naruto just did.
'What jutsu was that?' Aoi thought 'I've never heard of a lightning jutsu by that name; where did he learn it?"
Unknown to Aoi this was Naruto's second self-made jutsu; Yakumo told him about how he defeated her Ido by releasing a pulse of lightning from his body. After Naruto found out he recreated the jutsu through months of trail and error along with a couple hundred electrical burns.
The best way Naruto could explain it was that it was like the Hyuga's eight trigram palm rotation that Guy sensei told him about; however unlike the palm rotation there was a major drawback.
'Damn it, now I don't have my cloak anymore' Naruto thought as he jumped back away from Aoi and landed a few yards away 'crap, this is going to be a long five minutes'. Naruto's jutsu uses his chakra cloak for the initial burst and doing this drains his chakra and makes him unable to reactivate it for five minutes.
Aoi seeing Naruto's lighting cloak not come back on smirked 'did he just short himself out?' Aoi thought 'well lucky me'. Aoi charged towards Naruto who gripped his Fuma shuriken as Aoi closed the distance; Aoi slashed at Naruto who used his shuriken to block the sword. An electrical current ran through the sword sending shocks to Naruto making him feel the pain.
However due to the scroll Uzui gave him and his training he's built a better immunity to lightning but it still hurt; Naruto strained against the shock going through his body and grit his teeth.
Aoi pulled away and spun around swinging his sword at Naruto who attempted to dodge the attack; Naruto was cut across his right arm causing a deep cut to form on his shoulder. This resulted in Naruto getting shocked even worse as the lightning from the sword caused his muscles to constrict.
Naruto was falling towards the ground and Aoi was getting ready to stab Naruto when he hit the ground; however Naruto wasn't falling but instead flipping and spinning which Aoi realized too late when Naruto's first foot hit him in the face.
Naruto performed a cartwheel kick hitting Aoi with his first foot stunning him before using his second foot to hit him again; Naruto kicked Aoi a second time sending him flying backwards before he regained his footing.
Aoi landed in the spot where Naruto was when Aoi performed his 'Senbon Rainstorm' upon seeing this Naruto had an idea; Naruto charged his Fuma Shuriken with lightning chakra and threw it at Aoi.
Aoi got back to his feet to see Naruto's Fuma Shuriken coming towards him and Aoi put his sword in front of himself and the two weapons collided with Aoi's sword cutting through the shuriken.
'Little shit got me that time, but I won't let it happen again' Aoi thought until he saw Naruto finish a hand sign and point both hands at him; Aoi thought he was about to unleash a lightning jutsu and got ready to block it.
"Lightning Style: Static Force" Naruto shouted; Aoi got confused with this.
'Wait; why is he using a genin level jutsu to-' Aoi began but stopped when he was hit from behind; Aoi coughed out blood and dropped his sword causing it to shut off. Aoi took a step forward before falling to a knee and letting out a cough; Aoi fell down face first revealing what Naruto did.
All along Aoi's back there were hundreds of poisoned senbon piercing him from his feet to his head; Naruto used a genin level jutsu to cause the senbon to fly back towards him. Naruto used the hundreds of Aoi's discarded senbon to attack him from behind; and to Naruto's relief it worked.
Naruto let out a exasperated sigh and spoke "this is the second guy I killed using his own weapon" Naruto said as he began to walk towards Aoi as he lied dead on the ground. Naruto reached down and picked up the 'Sword of The Thunder God' hilt and marveled at it; Naruto pushed some of his lightning chakra through it and the yellow blade shot out the hilt glowing and humming.
Naruto began to smile and giggle like a dork "oh man, my own lightsaber" Naruto said with the happiness equivalent of a kid opening a birthday present. As soon as he said that there was an explosion and Naruto turned around and saw in the distance Anko, Kurenai and Yakumo still fighting "OH CRAP; THEY'RE STILL FIGHTING" Naruto shouted as he began to rush over.
With Anko, Kurenai and Yakumo
A hand shot out of the ground in an attempt to grab Yakumo but Yakumo grabbed onto the hand before it could grab here "get over here" Yakumo shouted as she pulled up with all her might.
Mubi was pulled chest high out of the ground with a surprised look on his face and Yakumo cocked back her fist "take this" Yakumo shouted as she punched Mubi in the face knocking out his rebreather and sending him flying backwards. Mubi stopped a few yards away as he was now unconscious and his earth jutsu canceled and his whole body floated to the top of the ground.
"MUBI YOU IDIOT" Oboro shouted as he popped out of the ground and dragged his unconscious teammate back under ground.
Several more mud clones popped out of the ground and Yakumo ran over next to Anko and Kurenai and got into a defensive formation.
"Nice job Yakumo" Anko said to her "one down, two to go"; Anko looked at the rising mud clones and spoke again. "You know this fight would've been over by now if these guys weren't such cowards" Anko said to Kurenai who nodded.
"It's a shame I can send my genjutsu underground" Kurenai said and Yakumo nodded.
"I need to at least see them" Yakumo said.
As the clones rose to the top of the earth everyone heard a shout "hold on guys, I'm here" came the voice of Naruto as he ran up from behind Anko and the others still wielding his newly acquired sword.
"Naruto! Hell yeah you beat him" Anko said with a smile on her face.
"Yeah I did; and I got his sword" Naruto said showing off his prize.
As this happened Oboro and his last conscious teammate Kagari saw this while underground "Aoi sensei is dead?" Kagari said while holding Mubi's unconscious body "what do we do now; we were supposed to keep the women distracted until the runtime got killed?"
Oboro hearing this nodded to his partner "we can't handle two jonin and two genin with Aoi sensei" Oboro said "I hate to say it, but we have to retreat; we're not strong enough, we're an ambush team not an assault unit".
"Fine; lets go" Kagari said; Oboro and Kagari along with the unconscious Mubi swam under the earth away from Naruto and the others.
Meanwhile Naruto and the others were all in a square formation waiting for the next assault to happen "all right people keep an eye out" Anko said as she and the others looked around "these bastards are sneaky; be prepared for anything".
"Oh I'm ready" Naruto said gripping his sword "I can't wait to use this baby".
4 hours later; at camp: With Naruto, Anko, Kurenai and Yakumo
"Gaaah those dicks; why'd they run away?" Naruto whined as he sat on a tree stump shirtless "I really wanted to use my new sword".
"Spineless bastard" Anko said anger and annoyed while tending to a fire "just because their sensei got killed they cut and run; what a bunch of bitches".
"Knock it off you two" Kurenai said as she dug through her medical kit as both she and Yakumo kneeled next to Naruto "we got lucky, this could've ended a lot worse; we survived an attack by foreign ninja".
"Yeah, we survived; and only one of us got hurt" Yakumo said as she poured peroxide on a cotton ball and then began to clean Naruto's chest wound.
"Ah shit; that's tender" Naruto said before getting smacked on the back of the head by Kurenai.
"Language Naruto" Kurenai chastised as she began to sew his shoulder wound; Naruto grumbled and Kurenai chuckled. "Anyway, good job Naruto; you beat Aoi and got the sword" Kurenai said and Naruto smiled.
"Aww it was nothing" Naruto said "he was a lot weaker than I expected; he was stronger than Mizuki but still, not exactly a 'main villain type'".
"Yeah he was a chunin academy instructor when he went traitor and stole the sword" Anko said as she began to boil some water on the fire "the only reason he was an A-rank missing ninja was because of the sword; that's why I had you fight him, to test your skills".
"So it looks like you're about chunin level Naruto" Kurenai said making him smile.
"I better be, I've been a ninja for nearly three years already" Naruto said "but I still need to get stronger; i want to be able to beat both Sasuke and Neji in a no hold barred fight".
"Why those two?" Yakumo said and Naruto looked at her.
"I want to show them some humility" Naruto said "stuck up 'geniuses' who look down on everyone else; I'll show them that guys like me and Lee are just as good as them even without 'clans' and 'money'".
"Sound like a plan to me; I always hated that little Hyuga prick" Anko said and Kurenai looked at her.
"Anko" Kurenai said not believing what she just heard.
"What, he's a total tool" Anko said and both Naruto and Yakumo chuckled.
The next day; near the Konoha border: With Naruto and team
"Alright, nearly at the border" Naruto said as he and his group walked forward "I can't wait to get home with another mission under my belt".
"I can't wait to cash in Aoi" Anko said patting the scroll she sealed his body in "oh boy there's going to be a fat bonus for us".
"Don't count your chickens before they hatch" Kurenai said with a slight ominous tone.
"Huh, why you say that?" Naruto asked and Kurenai spoke up.
"Look above us" Kurenai said and everyone did; Anko went wide eyed as a messenger hawk circled up above before coming down.
"Oh you've got to be kidding me" Anko said.
"What does this mean?" Yakumo asked as Kurenai outstretched her arm and the hawk landed; Kurenai grabbed the scroll on the back and spoke.
"It means trouble; but the real question is, how bad" Kurenai said as she opened the scroll and everyone looked at her as she read it "oh dear Kami".
"What?" Anko asked and Kurenai handed her the scroll "oh wow… oh damn… oh fuck"; Anko spoke with a tone of increasing alertness and Naruto spoke up.
"On a scale of one to ten; how bad is it?" Naruto asked and Anko rolled up the scroll.
"An eight" Anko said "Kakashi and Team seven took on a C-rank mission to the land of waves; they were ambushed along the way but were ambushed". "Kakashi asked how to proceed and the Hokage and council told him to proceed with the mission" Anko said as Naruto and Yakumo went wide eyed "they arrived to the land of waves two days ago; and were ambushed again". "Now Kakashi's hurt, two of the three genin are injured with no effective leader; so as of right now their entire mission went tits up" Anko said rubbed her temples "and we are going because we are the closest team to a port to get a ship to sail there".
"Holy crap" Naruto said.
Anko nodded and pulled out a map and spoke "we need to head south and catch the ferry at the southern port and head over to the land of waves" Anko said "Lord Hokage already contacted them and got us some passes on a ship bound for tea country where another ship can sneak us in".
Naruto and Yakumo nodded "Lovely; we have to save team sevens butt now" Naruto said with a sigh "oh well; lets get going".
Naruto and his team changed course and began to run south to get to the southern port as their new mission started before their first one could finish.
