Hello everyone I'm back once again to bring you another chapter of my story; sorry about the past 2 weeks I've been having writers block and my brother has been having a hard time. Legacies and Lightning: Chapter 22
Outside the Genjutsu: With Yakumo, Mayui and Koyoi
Yakumo, Mayui and Koyoi were all looking at a T.V screen that was showing the first group of the second exam; all 3 were in awe at the fact that they were watching an exam happen inside a genjutsu.
"This level of genjutsu is amazing" Yakumo said "I cannot imagine how much thought and hard work went into it".
"I never even knew something like this was possible" Mayui said equally astonished.
"This is a gold mine" Koyoi said gaining both girls attentions "when we're done with this exam I'm going to have mother and father to talk to lord Raikage; this could make us rich".
Yakumo and Mayui both rolled their eyes before looking at the screen; Naruto and Yuui were together while Hinata, Sasuke, Gaara and Kabuto were all by themselves.
'You guys can do this' Yakumo said clasping her hands 'just be safe'.
In the Genjutsu: with Naruto and Yuui
Naruto and Yuui were both running beside each other as they ran through the forest that the genjutsu crafted; both Naruto and Yuui looked around as they ran along the forest floor.
"This is so cool" Naruto said as he looked around "I feel like I'm in a video game".
"I know right" Yuui said as she looked around as well "and it's nice to know that we can't be killed in here"; Naruto nodded as they continued to run. Suddenly there was a loud ping in the air and a voice made an announcement.
"First Blood: Hinata Hyuga" said the voice and Naruto went wide eyed "Blue Team in the lead; Current Score: Five/Blue and Zero/Red".
"Huh? Hinata, she got the first kill?" Naruto said surprised "how the hell did that happen?"
(15 seconds prior): With Hinata
Hinata was slowly making her way through the woods nervously as she used her Byakugan to scout around for any hostile enemies; as she continued to walk out of the corner of her vision she saw a chakra signature off to her 7 o'clock position.
Hinata didn't recognize the chakra signature and began to rush forward when the owner of the chakra signature launched a projectile at Hinata; Hinata spun around and the kunai that was thrown missed her by mere inches and Hinata saw who it was from.
A Kumo ninja that was wearing red appeared from his hiding place and dashed towards her with a kunai in hand.
'O-oh no' Hinata thought in a panic as she got into a shaky defensive stance; when the Kumo ninja was close he sent a thrust towards Hinata expecting her to freeze up. Hinata despite being scared dodged the attack and sent a gentle fist strike towards the center of the Kumo ninja's body.
The location where Hinata was aiming at was where several chakra points were gathered; when Hinata's hand hit the target the effect was instantaneous as the chakra points in the ninja's body began to shut down at a rapid rate.
The Kumo boy coughed out his breath and was about to fall over unconscious until he 'poofed' into smoke making Hinata go wide eyed.
"Huh?" Hinata said confused as she looked around "w-where'd he go?"; suddenly there was a voice from above that sounded off and made her jump a little in fright.
"First Blood: Hinata Hyuga" said the voice "Blue Team in the lead; Current Score: Five/Blue and Zero/Red"; Hinata went wide eyed as she heard this.
"I-I-I got us the lead" Hinata said with a tinge of excitement in her voice.
Back with Naruto and Yuui
"Hell yeah Hinata; way to show them" Naruto said with a bright smile "I gotta tell her that when I see her later".
"She's the short girl with the lavender eyes right?" Yuui asked and Naruto nodded "she seems really nice".
"Oh yeah she's nice; a little weird and twitchy but she's nice" Naruto said "she's one of the few people who never treated me like crap; she's one of my old academy classmates". "I really haven't talked to her much but-" Naruto began until a rumbling was heard from up ahead; Naruto and Yuui both saw earth spikes popping out of the ground and rushing towards them.
Naruto and Yuui both simultaneously activated their lightning cloaks and jumped away into different directions with Naruto going left and Yuui going right. Yuui landed and saw the ground part way as the Iwa genin from the enemy team appeared from the ground and rushed towards her.
"Crap" Yuui said as she got into a defensive stance as the Iwa ninja made a hand sign.
"Earth Style: Rock Fist" the Iwa ninja said as rocks and dirt began to cover his hands until he had boxing gloves made of tightly compacted earth. Yuui rushed towards the Iwa ninja and attacked first by throwing a series of fast jabs aimed at the ninja's head.
Naruto brought out one of his Fuma shuriken getting ready to help out Yuui when he heard the sound of 'whooshing' through the air; Naruto spun around and began to spin his Fuma shuriken around his wrist at a fast speed.
Several shuriken collided with his spinning weapon and were knocked to the ground; the Suna genin jumped down from his exposed fighting position and threw several more shuriken at Naruto.
Naruto didn't attempt to block them as he jumped out of the way and threw his shuriken towards the Suna ninja; the Suna ninja ducked under the shuriken and smirked at Naruto.
"You missed dip shit" the ninja mocked as he looked at Naruto "now what are you going to-"; suddenly the Suna ninja was hit from behind by Naruto's shuriken and 'poofed' into smoke. Naruto reached out and grabbed his shuriken, stopping it's momentum.
"Dumbass, if you weren't so busy talking you could've heard that" Naruto said shaking his head "I swear, no one ever suspects that; I'm just using a D-rank jutsu for it". Naruto looked over to Yuui who was still fighting with the Iwa ninja.
The Iwa ninja threw a jab towards Yuui and Yuui blocked the punch; he followed up by launching a left hook aimed towards Yuui's midsection. Yuui seeing this stuck out her hand and caught the punch before it landed; Yuui twisted the Iwa ninja's arm and proceeded to lock his arm against her side and put pressure on his elbow joint.
Yuui quickly sent a series of fast punches with her free hand hitting the genin in the face several times; seeing he was now dazed Yuui used her right leg to sweep his feet from behind, sending him to the ground.
Yuui's raised her foot and came down with a stomp on the boys chest knocking the breath out of him; the Iwa genin 'poofed' into smoke signaling that he was 'killed'.
"Current Score: Fifteen/Blue and Zero/Red; current time four minutes and thirty seconds remaining" the disembodied voice announced and both Naruto and Yuui smiled.
"Alright" Naruto cheered as he began to run over to Yuui "you here that Yuui; we got-"; Naruto was halfway to Yuui when he heard some more 'whooshing' in the air heading towards him. Naruto turned and saw a dozen kunai coming towards him and he began to spin his Fuma shuriken to block them; the first couple kunai bounced off and hit the ground until an explosion erupted.
One of the kunai had a exploding tag attached to it and when it exploded it sent Naruto flying backwards into a tree head first; this was enough damage to make Naruto 'poof' into smoke and made Yuui go wide eyed.
"NARUTO" Yuui shouted in alarm until she heard noise from behind and saw one of the Konoha genin behind her; the genin slashed at her with a kunai but Yuui jumped away doing a flip in the air before throwing some lightning covered shuriken at him.
The genin dodged the shuriken and he took up a defensive stance in front of Yuui; Yuui got into a stance and was about to charge when she heard a noise behind her. The second Konoha genin came out and stood behind her.
"You're out of luck baby; that demonic dumbass isn't here to help you" the genin behind Yuui said with a smirk; Yuui frowned at this and looked to him.
"Just because of that comment I'm gonna kick your ass twice as hard for Naruto" Yuui said as she clenched her fists and got ready to fight "well bring it on dick heads".
With Naruto
"AAAAGGH" Naruto screamed as he hit the ground hard "owww… that hurt" Naruto said as he shakily got to his feet and looked around; Naruto did not see Yuui and then remembered he got hit by an explosion. "Aww crap I got 'killed' didn't I?" Naruto said as he looked around "shit, gotta find Yuui". Naruto was about to run ahead until he stopped and began to look around again "where the hell am I anyway?"
Across the Forest: With Sasuke
Sasuke was breathing hard as he faced off against one of the Kumo genin; the both of them ran into each other and began to fight in their own private dual. Sasuke with his sharingan activated was keeping up with the sword wielding genin.
"Current Score: Fifteen/Blue and Five/Red" The voice announced before continuing "First Red Kill: Naruto Uzumaki"
Sasuke scoffed at this and looked back at the Kumo genin 'that blonde idiot; he must've been careless' he thought; the Kumo genin was also distracted before looking back at Sasuke and refocusing on their battle.
The Kumo genin charged his sword with lightning chakra as it began to crackle; the genin charged towards Sasuke as fast as he could and Sasuke saw this through his 2 tomoe sharingan.
Sasuke smirked as the Kumo genin got close and slashed at him with his sword; Sasuke ducked under the sword and delivered a solid punch to the Kumo genin's abdomen. The punch knocked the wind out of the genin and Sasuke used the opportunity to grab onto his arms and a judo throw; when performing the judo throw Sasuke stripped away the sword just as the Kumo genin hit the ground.
Sasuke raised the sword and brought it down in a slash hitting the genin in the neck and making him and the sword 'poof' into smoke; Sasuke smirked as the voice announced again.
"Current Score: Twenty/Blue and Five/Red" the voice announced and Sasuke smirked as he just one step closer to victory.
'Looks like it's up to me to-' Sasuke began until there was another announcement.
"Triple kill: Sabaku no Gaara" The announcer said and Sasuke went wide eyed "Current Score: Thirty Five/Blue and Five/Red".
"WHAT?" Sasuke shouted in outrage.
With Gaara
Gaara was on the other side of the forest recalling his sand back into it's gourd; Gaara in the matter of seconds took out an Iwa ninja, a Kumo ninja and a Suna ninja. All around him there were burned trees due to lightning jutsu, scattered rocks and boulders and scars from wind jutsu all around him.
But Gaara stood there as still as a statue and completely unharmed by the battle that just happened "This is not the same" Gaara said in a low and ominous growl; Gaara then felt a pang of pain in his head and he grabbed it. "M-mother" Gaara groaned "be patient… I will satisfy your hunger".
Outside the Genjutsu: with A, Uzui, Yugito, and Darui
A, his wife and two of his three advisors were looking at the screen of Gaara talking to himself after he took out 3 genin like they were nothing.
"I am glad Yuui didn't go out with that psycho" A said and the others nodded.
Back inside the Genjutsu: with Yuui
Yuui dodged a volley of kunai from one of the Konoha genin and began to go through hand signs "Lightning Style: Lightning ball" she shouted; Yuui formed a ball of lightning the size of a softball in her hand and threw it towards the genin who launched the kunai at her.
The genin seeing the ball heading towards him jumped out of the way as the ball of lightning hit the tree behind him and exploded, burning the tree. Yuui was about to attack again when she heard a noise behind herself and saw the other Konoha genin rushing towards her; the genin jumped into the air and launched a spinning kick towards her.
Yuui seeing this raised up her arm and waited for the kick to land; the kick connected with her arm and the genin immediately seized up as his muscles began to tighten; Yuui's lightning cloak began to shock the boy as she balled up her fist.
"I'm covered in lightning you idiot" Yuui shouted as she threw a punch with her lighting covered fist hitting the genin in the stomach; the genin had the wind knocked out of him and 'poofed' away.
"Shit" the other genin said as he began to go through hand signs "Fire Style: Majestic Flames Jutsu"; the genin launched a stream of fire towards Yuui who began to go through hand signs.
"Lightning Style: Lightning Blast Jutsu" Yuui shouted as she launched a blast of lightning towards the fire jutsu; both jutsu collided and caused a large explosion, kicking up dust and debris.
As it settled Yuui got ready to rush towards the genin when she saw something behind him; the genin heard a snap from behind him and he turned around just in time to get a kunai to the head and burst into smoke.
"Wow, I'm so glad you distracted him" came Kabuto's voice as he came out of hiding from behind a tree "hey there".
"YOU" Yuui shouted as she pointed at Kabuto "you douche bag, you bailed on us after the last exam; I should kick your butt".
"How vulgar for a girl of your status to talk" Kabuto said in a mock shocked way "you won't make much friends that way Ms.Yuui"; Kabuto got a cheeky smile on his face and Yuui got annoyed.
"Piss off four eyes" Yuui said as she deactivated her cloak and began to walk away "I gotta find Naruto; don't follow me".
Yuui ran off in a random direction and Kabuto stood there unmoving as she ran off 'feisty' Kabuto thought with a chuckle as he turned around and began to walk away.
"Current Score: Forty Five/ Blue and Five/Red" The announcer said "Two minutes remaining".
With Naruto
"Oh come on; how come I'm the only one who got killed?" Naruto shouted in outrage 'This is bull crap'; Naruto was running around the forest trying to find Yuui so they can team up again.
As he ran through the woods someone stepped out from behind a tree and Naruto grabbed his Fuma Shuriken "Alright dude; ass licking time" Naruto shouted as he wound up his shot and got ready to throw his weapon.
"W-WAIT NARUTO; IT'S ME" Hinata shouted in fright as she raised up her hands; she saw Naruto with her Byakugan and came out to greet him.
Naruto was halfway through his throw when he realized it was Hinata; Naruto halted just barely keeping the weapon in his hand. Naruto let out a breath and looked to Hinata in surprise "Hinata, oh man you gotta be careful; I could've hurt you" he said as he began to job over.
Hinata blushed and began to poke her fingers together "s-sorry Naruto; I j-just saw you and… and…" Hinata was stuttering and fidgeting as she spoke to Naruto as she hasn't really talked to him in a while.
"Don't sweat it Hinata; I'm just glad to see you" Naruto said with a smile that made Hinata's face heat up.
"Y-you're glad to see me?" Hinata asked and Naruto nodded.
"Well duh… you and Yuui are my only friends in the test" Naruto said patting her shoulder "now then lets get going; me and Yuui were together until I got 'killed', you can find her right?"
Hinata nodded and spoke "I-I-I can try" Hinata said as she activated her Byakugan and began to look around "I-I think I see her to the North along with someone else".
"Well what are we waiting for, lead the way" Naruto said and Hinata nodded; Naruto and Hinata jumped to the tree branches up above and began running across them towards Yuui "I'm sure Yuui can handle who ever is near her; but we better hurry". Hinata nodded and both sped off.
With Yuui
Yuui was running along the forest floor looking around for Naruto so they can team up again "damn it Naruto; where are you" Yuui said as she looked around.
"Hey" came a voice and Yuui stopped and looked to where the voice came from; Yuui's face turned from a scowl to a frown as she saw Sasuke standing on a tree branch.
"Oh great, it's you" Yuui said looking at Sasuke "what do you want Uchiha?"
"Nothing much, I see you're no longer with that loser" Sasuke said referring to Naruto "I should've known he'd get taken out". Sasuke hopped down from the tree and landed a few feet away from Yuui with a smug expression on his face "how about you and me team up and find the enemy, we still have some time to get a few more points" he said and Yuui scoffed.
"No way" Yuui said as she turned around "I'd rather go at it alone that work with an asshole like you". "It's Naruto or nothing" Yuui said sticking up for her friend in his absence.
Sasuke's expression changed to one of annoyance "why do you waste your time with that gutter trash" Sasuke said "he's just some random orphan trying to be a ninja; he's at the bottom, always has and always will be". Yuui stopped and Sasuke thought he got through to her "just forget about him and focus on someone who's actually-" he began.
Yuui turned around and blurred towards Sasuke with her fist cocked back "SHUT THE FUCK UP" Yuui shouted as in an instant her gloved hand crackled with lighting and she proceeded to punch Sasuke in the face. Sasuke 'poofed' out of existence and Yuui went wide eyed "uh oh" she said.
"Hey did you hear that?" Came Naruto's voice and Yuui turned and saw Naruto and someone else running through the trees "Hey Yuui; we found you". Naruto and Hinata jumped down and landed next to Yuui "hey Yuui are you ok; Hinata here saw someone with you?" He asked and Yuui began to rub the back of her head.
"W-well, you see" Yuui began until the voice made an announcement.
"Penalty Blue Team: Blue on Blue combat, Yuui 'killed' Sasuke Uchiha" the announcer said and Yuui went wide eyed "Blue team penalized ten points; Current Score: Thirty Five/Blue and Fifteen/Red". "One Minute remaining" the voice said.
Naruto and Hinata both looked at Yuui and Yuui began to blush super hard and spoke "uhh… you see it kind of… uhhh" Yuu said trying to find the words.
"He pissed you off an you punched him" Naruto said and Yuui nodded.
"Yeah pretty much" Yuui said with a nervous chuckle.
"I don't blame you" Naruto said with a chuckle "lets just go and wait out the rest of the exam; or hey we might run into someone"; Yuui nodded and Naruto began to lead Yuui and Hinata off into another direction.
Hinata felt a little nervous next to Yuui and Yuui could feel the tension "so you're Hinata right?" Yuui asked and Hinata looked at her and nodded.
"Y-yes Hinata Hyuga" Hinata said with her stutter.
"Nice to meet you Hinata; I'm Yuui" Yuui said with a bright smile and Hinata gave her a friendly smile back.
Over the last minute only two more 'kills' were attained and it was by Gaara which didn't surprise anyone; when the minute was up the voice came back on over the air and spoke.
"Match over, final scores: Forty Five/Blue and Fifteen red; Blue team wins" The announcer said as Naruto, Yuui and Hinata all stopped and smiled "genjutsu will end in three…two…one…"
Outside the Genjutsu
Naruto's eyes widened and he saw he was back on the bed he laid down on; Naruto sat up and looked around "what the?" Naruto said confused.
"Welcome back" The woman who helped Naruto said as she sat next to him; she removed the 2 coin like objects from his temples "please be careful getting up as your vertigo may be off".
Naruto nodded and turned on the bed and got onto his feet; immediately Naruto felt dizzy and had to stablilize himself "woah, what the hell" Naruto said as his vision rocked.
"Bwaaah" Yuui sounded and Naruto looked over; Yuui was vomiting into a bag on the edge of the bed. Hinata who seemingly was unaffected was holding her hair back as to not get vomit in it; when Yuui was done she handed the bag off to the technician and looked at Hinata. "T-thanks Hinata; I don't know why but I felt nauseous" Yuui said and Hinata gave her a nod and a smile.
"Y-you're welcome Yuui" Hinata said trying to be nice 'she looks like a nice person… maybe I should ask her-'.
"Hey girls" Naruto said as he stumbled over like he was drunk "oh god I feel weird"; Naruto stopped in front of them and smiled "good job to the both of you; we kicked ass".
"Hey" Sasuke said speaking up and gaining Naruto and Yuui's attention "you punched me and caused us to lose points"; Sasuke was directing his anger at Yuui and Yuui looked back at him.
"Go blow yourself" Yuui said as she got up with the help of Naruto and Hinata "come on guys, lets go back to the others".
Sasuke seeing them walk away was about to speak when a hand hit his shoulder; he looked over and saw Kabuto.
"Control that anger buddy, or it'll be the end of you" Kabuto said with a smile; Sasuke pulled his shoulder away and began to march out.
"Fuck off" Sasuke said as he stormed out; Kabuto sighed and began to walk out as well. Gaara however was standing in the back looking at the interaction.
'The Uchiha…the raikage's daughter… and that blonde boy' Gaara thought as he slowly began to walk forward 'one of them… maybe'. Gaara stalked out of the room not saying a word taking off the coin sized objects from his temples and tossing them to the ground.
Outside the room: With Yakumo, Koyoi and Mayui
Naruto, Yuui and Hinata exited the room and Yakumo, Koyoi and Mayui walked over with smiles on their faces "you guys did great" Yakumo said giving Naruto then Yuui a hug "I'm so proud of you".
"Thanks Yakumo" Naruto said with a smile and rubbing the back of his head.
"I thought it was funny when you punched that douchey Uchiha" Mayui said; Sasuke who was nearby hear that and turned.
"What did you say?" Sasuke said with venom in his voice and Mayui and the others turned.
"I SAID 'I THOUGHT IT WAS FUNNY WHEN YOU PUNCHED THAT DOUCHEY UCHIHA IN THE FACE'; IS THAT LOUD ENOUGH FOR YOU" Mayui shouted so the whole room can hear; Sasuke was stepping forward when Sai reached out and stopped him.
"Don't" Sai said and Sasuke grunted before swatting his hand away.
Naruto and the others chuckled before Yuui spoke up "oh by the way" Yuui said before reaching out and grabbing Hinata around the shoulder "this is our new friend Hinata; she's an old classmate of Naruto's".
Mayui looked to Hinata who looked uncomfortable being the center of attention "'Sup" Mayui said with a smile.
"My, my" Koyoi said reaching out and grabbing Hinata's hand "I had no idea Naruto knew such a beautiful angel"; Koyoi gave Hinata's hand a kiss making her face heat up in embarrassment.
"U-umm… t-thank you but ummm…" Hinata began as she began to stutter "I-I'm not into g-girls"; Naruto, Yuui and Mayui began to chuckle at this and Koyoi looked at Hinata with a smile.
"Well, it's a good thing I'm a boy then" Koyoi said and all the color from Hinata's face faded away in shock.
"Y-you're a boy?" Hinata asked and Koyoi nodded 'he's prettier than most girls I know'.
One hour later
Naruto and the others waited as several more fight happened, each with different arena's and mission objectives; so far the only ones that stood out of the crowd were several people. Oboro's team, Kankuro from Suna, the sound genin Dosu, and both of Kabuto's teammates passed their tests and will be proceeding to the next exam.
As of right now there was a team on team dual going on between Team Asuma consisting of Shikamaru, Ino and Choji vs another Kumo team
"Man this is boring" Naruto said as he leaned against the wall "I hope these exams go by more quickly"; as soon as he said that the door to the genjutsu room opened and team Asuma exited. Shikamaru looked tired, Choji was snacking away and Ino had a victorious look on her face.
Ino strides by Naruto and his group and passed Sasuke, Sakura and Sai "looks like I'll be going to the finals" Ino said with a smirk "good luck in your test Billboard brow; knowing you… you're going to need it".
"Shut it piggy" Sakura said through gritted teeth "I will get to the next round; just you watch".
"What ever" Ino said rolling her eyes and looking at Sasuke "bye Sasuke"; Ino gave him a wink but Sasuke just grunted and looked away. "Still playing hard to get" Ino said before sauntering off.
"God I don't know her but I despise her" Mayui said crossing her arms "a stuck up rich girl princess; god I'd love to wipe that smirk off her face".
"Trust me, I feel the same way" Naruto said rolling his eyes.
After a few minutes there was an announcement from Bee who came back into the room "alright kiddies, time for the next round; this time only eight will be going in" Bee said and everyone listened up. "If you hear your name, come on up; Sabaku no Temari, Kin Tsuchi, Tenten, Yakumo Kurama, Sakura Haruno, Mayui, Kiba Inuzuka and Haku Yuki" Bee said and Kiba snorted.
"Ha, this is gonna be easy" Kiba said as he looked around "I'm fighting a bunch of chicks"; as soon as he said that Temari, Kin, Tenten, Mayui and Haku all looked at him.
"What the fuck did you say?" Mayui said in anger.
"I'm going to beat your ass for that" Temari shouted.
"Fuck you prick" Kin said getting ready to take out some senbon.
"I'm a boy" Haku said annoyed and all the other girls but Yakumo, Sakura and Mayui looked at him.
"Wait seriously?" Tenten said surprised.
"Enough chit chat" Bee said speaking up "get your butts into the room and get ready for the next match".
Yakumo looked to Naruto who gave her a thumbs up "knock 'em dead" Naruto said with a smile and Yakumo nodded.
"Ok" Yakumo said as she and the others walked over to the room; upon entering the room Yakumo and the others all went to a bed and had the coin sized object put on their temples.
"Alright everyone; get ready to go in" Bee said "in three… two… one"; Yakumo's world then went dark.
……
Yakumo opened her eyes and she saw she was in a farming village; the scenery was immaculately depicted with signs, tables, doors and other things cluttering the streets and houses. Yakumo then realized that she was completely alone as unlike Naruto, no one was around her.
"Where is everyone" Yakumo said before Bee's voice began to speak.
"Alright everyone; next combat scenario… Free For All" Bee said and Yakumo's eyes went wide at this "eliminate anyone and everyone; once your eliminated, you're done". "The bottom four examinees will not be moving onto the next exam while the top four will move on" Bee said "use everything at your disposal and trust no one".
Yakumo felt a creeping dread wash over her as she heard this; but after swallowing hard and clenching her fists she nodded to herself "I-I can do this, I can do this" she said to herself.
"Alright then children, get ready…" Bee's voice said as Yakumo stretched and got into a running stance "BEGIN"; a buzzer went off and Yakumo began to dash through the simulated village and begin her exam.
