When Tina and the Loud siblings entered the library, they went to the front desk to see Librarian Molly Wetta...
Librarian Wetta: Hi, there. How can I help you today?
Lincoln: We're looking for information about peregrine falcons.
Wetta: Do you know how to do a computer search?
Luan: Of course.
Wetta: Go on one of the computers, then you can find what you're looking for.
Everyone went around the library, and they soon saw a row of computers. Leni got on one of them...
Leni: Don't worry. I know how to do this.
Leni went on Google, then typed 'Falcons' on the search bar, then pressed the 'Enter' key. A few seconds later, a long list of book titles had appeared on the screen...
Leni: Wow, there must be over 50 books about falcons.
Lisa: (whispers to Leni) Try 'Peregrine'.
Leni typed in the new word, and the list shortened. The library had 5 books about peregrine falcons. The blonde-haired teen then printed the shorted list, then showed it to Wetta...
Wetta: These are in the children's section.
The librarian marked a check next to one of the books listed on the paper. Tina and the Louds then headed to the children's section of the library, and found the book that was checked on the list, called 'All About Peregrine Falcons'. Everyone huddled together by a table, and turned some pages.
They read that peregrine falcons had nearly been wiped out because of pesticides. They flipped more pages, and read more info on the bird...
Lana: (reading aloud) 'Peregrine falcons are easy to train.'
'And look, it says here that they mate for life,' added Luna.
Tina: Look down here.
The baby girl ran down her fingers as she was reading...
Tina: 'Peregrine falcons are among nature's fastest hunters. When chasing other birds, they have been known to go over 200 miles per hour.'
Lana: Whoa, that's faster than a cheetah!
L.J.: Boy, would it be great to see these kinds of birds race?
Just then, L.J. realizes something...
'That's it!' L.J. yelled. Wetta, overhearing L.J., came over to the children's section, and said, with a hushed voice, 'Lynn...'
L.J.: Sorry, Librarian Wetta.
Tina returned the book, and then she and the Loud siblings hurried outside...
L.J.: I bet someone is stealing falcons to race them! People race dogs and horses, so why not falcons?
'Let's tell Alan', Lana said. Tina and the Loud siblings transported to Trolberg, and went to the Trolberg Safety Patrol headquarters. They went into the office to see Emma, and then told her to call Adam, which she did. After she finished the call, Emma told the team, 'He's coming right over.'
While everyone was waiting, they thought about how they were doing with the mystery so far...
Leni: You know, I've been thinking... who besides us knew that falcon was at the animal hospital?
'Well, Dr. Zhau knew,' said Lincoln.
Lana: For sure, she didn't break in and steal the falcon!
Lola: How about Siobhan Andrews, her assistant?
Lana: Yeah!
Lisa: Don't forget about Alan; We told him the falcon was there.
Lana shook her head, and says, 'It's Alan's job to protect wildlife.'
Just then, Alan came into the headquarters of the T.S.P., and saw the team...
Alan: So, you kids have been doing some detective work, huh?
Lola: Someone stole that bird from the animal hospital!
Alan: (nods) I know, Emma told me on the phone.
Lana: We had read that peregrine falcons can fly up to 200 miles per hour.
Lincoln: (continues) So we all thought someone might be training them to race.
Alan: Racing falcons? That's an interesting idea.
L.J.: Could someone make money racing falcons, like in a horse race?
Alan nodded slowly, and said, 'Yes, I guess they could.' He then added, 'Tell you what, kids. Let me run your idea through a few of my contacts. But let's keep us between us, okay?'
Tina: Do you really think you can find out who took the falcons?
Adam: (smiles) You can count on it.
He then walked out of the T.S.P. headquarters.
