When Tina and the Loud siblings got back to Royal Woods, they headed to the animal hospital to see Officer Zeta and Officer Schoffner arriving there...
Zeta: Hi, kids. What are you doing here?
Lincoln: Hello, Officers Zeta and Schoffner. We're here to help Dr. Zhau find some missing birds.
Tina: Did she tell you both about the break-in?
Schoffner was holding a small black case. 'We were just coming over here with my fingerprint kit. Dr. Zhau told me about these disappearing falcons. But how are you kids involved?' she asked.
Leni: When we went to look yesterday, the falcons we're gone!
L.J.: And we think we know who did it!
Interrupting each other, Lola and Lana explained to the two officers how they thought Siobhan Andrews was stealing falcons and training them to race.
'Well, I don't think it's her', Lincoln said.
'Me neither', agreed Tina.
Zeta nodded slowly.
Zeta: I'll tell you what, how about we just watch and listen? (smiles) Maybe we'll all learn something.
The two officers and all the kids walked into the animal hospital, through the lobby, and into Judy's office, where they saw her and Siobhan putting a cast on a dog's leg.
Lana: Boy, would it be neat to be a vet? You get to play with animals all day.
Schoffner: (shakes her head) It's not all fun, Lana, it's hard work. Some vets even get called out in the middle of the night!
Judy then came over to the cops...
Judy: Thanks for coming over. Come outside, I'll show you what's left of my lock.
The kids watched Siobhan lift the dog off the table. Then, she carried him to a cage and gave him a dog biscuit.
Lincoln: (whispers) You're wrong about Siobhan. She really likes animals.
Lana: (whispers back to Lincoln) Lots of crooks like animals.
L.J.: Come on, let's go watch the officers get fingerprints.
Tina and the Louds went to the back area outside. But there were no fingerprints. Schoffner spread some dust, but no prints had appeared.
'When, I guess he wiped the door or wore gloves,' Schoffner said.
Lola: (muttered) Or she wore gloves.
Luna remembered something else...
Luna: Dr. Zhau told us there was tiny writing on the leg band. Did you read it?
Schoffner: I sure did, Luna. Come inside and I'll show you.
Dr. Zhau, Officers Zeta and Schoffner, Tina, and the siblings went back outside, where they saw Siobhan doing some paperwork. L.J. stared at her crossly.
Judy: Hand me that leg band, would you, Siobhan?
Siobhan nodded and gave the band to Judy. The vet picked up a magnifying glass from the desk, then handed it and the leg band to Lisa.
Judy: Tell me what you see, Lisa.
Lisa peered at the band through the glass...
Lisa: I see letters and numbers, Dr. Zhau.
Judy: Can you read them?
'TRBG-7-22', Lisa read. Luan then looked up, and said, 'What does that mean?'
Judy: The letters are a mystery to me, but the numbers may be dates. If I'm right, the numbers mean that bird was born on 7/22 - July 22nd.
Lucy: Could the letters be the place where that person took the falcon?
Judy: That's good thinking, Lucy.
Schoffner: Unfortunately, without any fingerprints, I'd say that our thief has gotten away as free as a bird!
Luan: (laughs) Nice pun!
Tina and the Loud siblings then looked at each other. The only clue they had was the writing on the leg band. If they were going to catch that thief, they had to think about the letters and numbers on that band...
