Chapter 3
Naruto knew that what he did today would get the League's attention and would become more aware and keep an eye out for him. Luckily he had a henge up, so no one would be able to find him. He meant it when it was only a one time thing when he helped out since Kara was at a disadvantage. He didn't know who the other guy was, but he wouldn't let his best friend get hurt. Hopefully they'll come up with nothing and leave it be, but it's all he can hope for.
"Now I just need to get ready for tonight since we have to get together. I wonder who will all be there?" Naruto asked himself as he had a few hours before. He tried asking Kara who was going, but she wouldn't tell him, but that it was a surprise, leaving him to find out when he got there.
He decided to do some checking on a new house since he wanted to have his own place to call home. He's checked in a few cities such as New York, Metropolis, Central City, Washington D.C., even in some other countries. He found a two story house that would be perfect for him in Metropolis and he was kind of excited for it, but also nervous at the same time, knowing that once he told them, they'd want to make sure he was going to be okay, especially Ma and god forbid Kara would want to really make sure it was the right time.
"She's going to kick my ass." Naruto's shoulders slumped as he fell back into his bed with a groan.
He knew that she would not be entirely happy with him wanting to have his own place, but he had overstayed his welcome here and wanted to have a place to call home for himself. He decided to hold off on telling her until he was all packed and then he could maybe avoid a tongue lashing from her.
It was time for him to meet with everyone and he decided to get a black buttoned shirt that he had rolled up on the sleeves, gray jeans with a gray belt, and white sneakers with the Nike logo. He had a gold wrist watch and his hair was still spiky. He couldn't get it to look different sadly, but that was fine with Kara as it made him look that much better as it was more him.
He waited on Kara to finish getting ready as they were going to be carpooling there. When Naruto asked where this was happening, she said that it was at a place that had bowling as well as food, music, karaoke, and….alcohol. Which is something he would need even if it wouldn't get him drunk, he would still enjoy it.
Naruto heard footsteps and saw Kara coming down and she was wearing a white shirt with a black jacket with dark blue jeans. Her hair was down and she looked great.
"You ready to go?" Kara asked with a smile as he nodded and led her out to a car he had gotten a couple weeks ago.
"Let's go, it shouldn't take us too long to get there." Naruto said as he opened the door into the car before getting into the driver's seat. He started the car and had a smile on his face. "Let's go see everyone." He said as they drove off.
It was twenty minutes later when they arrived at their destination, he looked up and saw it was a small bar, but had small printing beside the name that said karaoke on it, making him raise an eyebrow and look at the blonde kryptonian who looked at him with a smile.
"You could use a good time and I thought this place would be just what you needed." Kara gave him a grin that made him look at her in surprise before chuckling.
"Need huh? I suppose you're right." Naruto said in a somewhat bitter tone, not entirely liking how they're butting into his life like this. He shook his head of the negative thoughts knowing that they were just thinking of his well being.
They got out of the truck, but Kara was being impatient and grabbed his hand, dragging him with ease, not that he was fighting her attempt to begin with.
"Come on, let's head in, you'll have a blast." Kara said, excited and hoping that he would be able to enjoy himself. He nodded as they walked into the building with her arm wrapped around his.
When they walked in the place looked lively and people seemed to be enjoying themselves for that matter. As they made their way inside, they had gotten several peoples attention with most of them being women who gave Naruto looks of appreciation as if checking him out and looks of envy towards Kara for being with someone like him. There were some men who gave her appealing looks. They just ignored them though as she led them towards where he guessed was their table or whatever.
His eyes widened when he saw there were in fact several people there waiting for them, chatting amongst themselves, smiling, and laughing. He suddenly grew nervous at seeing everyone again, well most of them since he didn't see Bruce or J'onn there for that matter which he figured wouldn't come due to them not liking crowds that much. He could see Wally, Clark, John which surprised him, but then again, Shayera probably talked him into it, Shayera which wasn't as much if John was here, Diana, Vixen, and Dinah.
He wasn't nervous about them in general, but there was this sense of fear that had taken hold of him ever since he arrived. He glanced at her and stopped walking, which in turn forced her to stop as well. She looked at him in confusion, no doubt wondering why he stopped and she could see just how tense he was from just seeing them. He took a step back on reflex and started sweating, much to her concern as she wasn't sure why he was reacting this way.
"Naruto, what's wrong?" Kara asked, showing clear worry in her blue eyes.
"Nothing. It's nothing." Naruto played off her worry with a wave of his hand as he moved ahead.
Kara didn't say anything, but narrowed her eyes at him before nodding as they met up with everyone. They noticed them coming their way and smiled at them, glad that they were able to make it. Diana approached them first and hugged her surrogate son.
"It's good to see you, Naruto, how are you?" She asked softly, showing concern and nothing, but love in her eyes for him.
"I'm fine. Nothing I can't handle." Naruto gave a smile that she and Kara, but saw through instantly, but didn't call him out on it as she nodded.
"We're all glad that you could join us, it's been so long since we did something." Diana said as she took his other arm and they walked up to the others.
"Hey kid." Green arrow called out with a grin on his face with Dinah giving him a small wave in greeting.
"Glad you could make it. How are you these days?" She asked as she had been curious about him since she first met him. She saw how bright he was and would smile, but she could tell that it was also fake and he was just doing it for them. This worried her since she knew what would happen if he suppressed his real emotions for so long, he'd forget what they would feel like eventually or even lash out if he was pushed enough without getting help.
"Thanks. I'm getting there though." Naruto shrugged his shoulders uncaring as they looked at him with uncertainty, but would let it be for now.
Superman and John each shook hands with the former Shinobi with welcoming auras as he caught up with them. Wally patted him on the back with a grin on his face. Vixen winked and waved at him as he nodded to her, making her smile at him. Shayera however punched him in the shoulder and put him in a headlock despite being a head taller than her. It was amusing to everyone at the sight of it.
"Now that they're here, let's have some fun!" Wally exclaimed with a grin as they chuckled and decided to start with they got things set up, they were split up into two lanes which meant two different games would be going on. The first one had Clark, John, Dinah, Shayera, and Oliver while the other one had Naruto, Diana, Wally, Kara, and Vixen with the last two wanting to play against him and chat with him more with the former wanting to catch up with him as his surrogate mother. They were all sitting together with their lanes next to each other so they could all mingle together.
"Alright, now that we're all set, shall we?" Shayera asked as they nodded as she picked up her ball since she was going first.
"And while she's taking her turn, you can tell us what you've been doing over the last couple months." Diana said as they sat down as she looked at him with her arms crossed.
"Well…" Naruto started to say, but she glared at him as if to tell her otherwise. It made him smile inwardly knowing how much she cared, but he still had that fear that she and everyone else would betray him….just like they did to him.
"I'm curious as well except it hasn't been as long since I last saw you at the Hall of Justice." Vixen said as she was also interested in what he was doing since they last met.
"You never did tell me what you did with the books that you were able to get translated or what they were even about." Kara said, getting him to start sweating, knowing that if he told them then he'd be in trouble.
Naruto laughs nervously as he starts getting curious looks from everyone wondering what it was about knowing that if he did reveal that he was republishing the Icha Icha series, he'd be in for a world of trouble, so he decides to go with an excuse.
"You'll have to wait and see when it gets out to the public like everyone else. I'm not saying anything about it." Naruto said, getting a pout from her while the others merely nodded, but also wondered what it was. Naruto saw this and decided to elaborate. "It's not a book that I wrote, but I'm merely republishing a series that my God Father wrote as a means to get some money until I can get my own books out." He said, getting understanding nods from everyone.
"In that case, I'm wondering what became of Kurama after he became the new Ten-tails? Is he still the same at least?" Shayera asked as she sat down after taking her turn with Diana following the Thanagarian.
"He's still the same. He's just got a bigger ego now with his powerboost, but otherwise nothing's changed about the furball." Naruto said, before he winced when he got a shout from said fox.
"Fuck you asshole, you're just jealous of my power and grace!" Kurama shouted in a haughty/prideful tone that made him chuckle internally.
The women saw him wince and groan wondering what was going on when he held his head.
"I take it Kurama didn't appreciate what you said?" Kara said in an exasperated manner while Diana rolled her eyes, but smiled nonetheless.
"Yes, apparently he didn't like what I said about him." Naruto sighed, but had a smile on his face knowing his friend was having fun with him.
"Well at least he hasn't changed that much." John muttered with a groan, remembering how annoying and insulting the fox was to him.
Naruto just chuckled at that response knowing that Kurama and John didn't get along all that much considering how they butted heads with how different they are with John being serious and stern while Kurama was sarcastic and loved mocking people and getting under their skins.
"Yeah, not much I can do about that sorry." Naruto gave him a sympathetic look.
"Come on, you're up Naruto." Vixen said having gone after Diana and was now calling after Naruto to have his turn.
"Thanks Mari, let's see if I still got it." Naruto grinned as he grabbed a ball and he walked up to make his bowl.
Later
"That sucked." Naruto's eye twitched as Kara and Vixen were giggling trying to keep themselves from laughing out loud while Shayera didn't have such restraint and was howling with laughter and giving him mocking looks. Diana meanwhile was patting him on the back sympathetically, but was trying to stop herself from giggling as well seeing him sulk. He had done horrible when he had done so much better in the past, but tonight wasn't one of those times.
"Come on Naruto, it wasn't that bad." Vixen tried to console him, but it was ruined by her giggling that made his shoulders slump.
"Yeah, I can feel just how much you care with how much you're enjoying my suffering." Naruto gave her a look at her teasing.
"Whatever, it's just a game anyway." Naruto said with a huff furthering her and the others into teasing him when Diana looked over at the karaoke stage with an idea in mind.
"Why don't you have a go on the stage? That'll help take your mind off the bowling game." She suggested intriguing the others.
"You can sing? I had no idea that you could." Vixen said in surprise and with slight giddiness in her tone.
"I've only heard him sing once and he was fantastic. You should have go up there and give us a show." Kara said in agreement with the Amazon with a nod as her eyes showed excitement.
"Dude, have you been holding out on us this whole time, what the crap man?!" Wally whined as Clark nodded in agreement while also curious about this news.
"Ahh, all this time you never once mentioned that you could sing and here I thought you shared everything with me." Shayera did a fake pout, but her eyes were showing something else and it made him wary, knowing the hawk woman. He sighed when they didn't stop telling him to go up there, so he sucked it up.
"Fine, fine, i'll go up there, but just for one song only and not one more after that." Naruto said to the group who didn't say anything, but just grinned at him or in the case of Vixen who winked at him.
He walked up to the stage and picked up the mic and looked at the tv that showed what song was next. Well this was going to be interesting.

Naruto starts tapping his foot to match the rhythm to get into the song and he gives one of his signature grins that makes many women blush. He brings the microphone to his mouth.

All those that weren't aware of his vocal talents had eyes wide at hearing his voice. Vixen and Kara were in awe of his talents even if the latter had heard before it still didn't change how excited she was.
Shayera and Flash were grinning the whole time and were honestly very impressed with his ability. They were going to tease him so much after he was done. As his aunt and friend, it's their job to mess with him after all.
Diana was giving him a soft smile, already enjoying the song even if it was started. She could see his eyes closing, seeing him getting into it made her happy that this was something that he could enjoy.
The others aside from John and Clark were cheering him on, while the other two were giving him smiles and clapping at him. Of course that all stopped when Diana glared at them since they were ruining the song. This of course got chuckles from those around at the funny scene and turned back towards the stage where Naruto started singing again.

As they listened to him sing they could all see him losing himself to the song as he got into it. He was different from what they've heard or seen him when he was normally acting so depressed and distant. This was the Naruto that was with them two years ago before he went back.
Kara, Vixen, Oliver, and Dinah were all smiles seeing their friend looking so happy than they had seen him since he arrived. The others who were with him since the beginning when the Justice League was first formed were also happy seeing him acting so carefree without having to worry about his fears and those that had wronged him in the past.
Diana felt her eyes moistening at seeing someone who was a son to her like this brought so much joy to her. He had gone through so much in his short life and with his betrayal by Konoha and his other friends, it only got worse for him. He needed this to help him even if only temporarily, it would be a start for him. Just thinking about them made her nearly scowl in hidden anger at them. How dare they do that to someone who not only saved them, but did nothing to harm them! If she ever met any of them again, she'd make them pay and show that no one messes with her son. She was brought out of her angry thoughts to focus on said person.

Once Naruto finished, he notices a deafening silence from his audience. He sees everyone's eyes are wide as dinner plates and their jaws are on the floor. The only ones not shocked or surprised are Kara and Diana, but the former looked at him in awe and a smile, but the latter looked at him in pride. Needless to say, the entire audience aside from those two were shocked.
They did not think that anyone with some decent talent would appear tonight. But Naruto's single song just blew away the competition. Every single person in that bar was completely entranced by his singing. Hell, even the workers and managers of the bar stopped what they were doing just to listen to Naruto's singing. There was just something about it that got their attention and kept them enthralled throughout the entire time.
The silence was soon replaced with loud cheering and clapping for his performance and was keeping himself from blushing red, but he couldn't hide his slight embarrassment as he rubbed the back of his neck with a sheepish smile.
"Encore!"
"Yeah, give us another!"
"Just one more man!"
Naruto smiled as he cleared his throat, "Fine, but just one more." he spoke into the microphone. He wasn't really much of a singer and he only did it around those he was comfortable with as he looked at the tv and saw the next song appear on it.

Once he finished and pulled the mic away from his mouth, The cheering got so loud that everyone outside could hear, and people wondered what got everyone so cheerful. Naruto just stares at everyone in surprise. It was so weird to have people cheer for him, for anything at all! He was so used to people screaming away from him in terror, he had forgotten what it was like to have people cheer for him in joy. Before they could ask for another encore, he got down the stage quickly to the table that everyone was sitting at.
"That was great Naruto, you were really good." Clark patted the Jinchuriki on the back as the Jinchuriki held a small smile.
"He's right man, maybe you could go into show business with that kind of talent there." Wally gives a thumbs up with a grin.
Shayera had a teasing glint in her eyes and was on him in an instance and gave him a noogie much to his embarrassment as everyone either laughed or giggled at his expense.
"Oh you stud, you could charm a lot of women with that kind of voice, maybe I should've gone after you years ago." She said in a teasing tone that made John cough and shout out.
"WHAT?!" The green lantern exclaimed at the Thanagarian much to everyone's amusement.
"EXCUSE ME?!" Naruto was just as shocked even if she was kidding. Kara and Vixen had twitching eyebrows at her words.
Shayera let go still smirking and went over to John and wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him.
"I was merely messing with him John, there's no need to get your panties in a twist." Shayera assured her boyfriend with a grin on her face as the mentioned man merely sighed in annoyance at her words.
Dinah and Oliver gave their own congratulations with Dinah complimenting him that he's better than most people that she's listened to or met in her life with Oliver giving similar praise much to his embarrassment as the redness of his cheeks any indication.
Diana gave him a motherly hug and congratulated him on his performance with a proud smile on her face.
"That was really good, Naruto. You should sing more often, you have a talent for it." She hugged him and he smiled at her words.
"Thanks… Mom." Naruto whispered to her ear loud enough only for her to hear. Her eyes widened at what he said and gasped quietly.
"Anything for you. Son." Diana whispered back as she couldn't be any happier at hearing him call her mom. She knew how much his mother Kushina meant to him, but also knew that she would want him to move on and to have someone be there for him for support.
She let go just as Kara and Vixen approached him with a smile and smirk on their respective faces.
"You were pretty good whiskers, who knew that you had such talent? Handsome and talented in music, what else are you capable of?" Vixen was even more interested in him now, considering what he was like and how compassionate he was, now he could do more than be a hero was appealing to her.
"If you want to know what else I can do, you'll have to find out for yourself." Naruto replied with a teasing smirk, one which she mirrored.
"Maybe I will, you are pretty interesting and the mystery around you makes me eager to find out. Perhaps I will." Vixen said eager at the challenge and she would gladly accept it.
Kara seeing her flirt with him like this made her annoyed at the attempt and wasn't going to let her win now that someone else is going after him.
"That was amazing Naruto, then again, I've heard you sing before, so it isn't a surprise at how good you are." Kara gave Vixen a smirk at the silent jab at which Vixen smirked at the challenge.
"Thanks Kara, it was nothing that great though." Naruto replied humbly as everyone smiled or shook their heads at his humility.
"My my, so humble. Aren't you full of surprises, I might need to keep an eye on you." Vixen said as she wrapped one of her arms around his. Kara, not wanting to be outdone, does the same thing on his other arm much to the amusement of the others indicating by the snickering coming from Shayera and Wally as the others chuckled at the situation, though not everyone was amused being one amazon who was looking at the two with narrowed eyes, not liking how they're trying to get so close to him right now.
It's not like she has anything against them, far from it in fact as she rather liked and respected them. However, she was wanting to make sure that they weren't going to try anything as he is right now. She'd make sure that they also had the best intentions towards him, Vixen especially since she doesn't know her as well as Kara. She'd let them be though since they were supposed to be having a good time and by the looks of things, everyone was enjoying themselves. When her gaze locked onto Naruto, she could see how much he needed this even if he was the center of the attention and the embarrassment from what the two women were doing. She would allow things be and enjoy the night with her friends and son.
Later
After everyone finished congratulating him, they spent the next two hours seeing what else the place had to offer aside from karaoke and bowling. It was a good time for everyone, even Naruto couldn't help, but show that he was also having a good time with them. He watched as Kara, Diana, Oliver, Dinah, Vixen, and Wally had their own go on the mic and hadn't laughed that hard in awhile from watching their own embarrassments, but it was fun nonetheless.
The first ones to leave were Clark and Wally who had work in the morning at their prospective jobs, than John and Shayera lad to go with having monitor duty in the morning, but not before she gave him another noogie than leaving with him. Oliver and Dinah left afterwards to go do their own thing with the canary giving him a kiss on cheek and telling them goodbye. Diana was the last one to leave since it was getting late and she wanted to get plenty of rest, but not before scheduling the next outing with him, much to his hidden happiness at seeing how she is wanting to actually spend time with him. That just left Vixen, Naruto, and Kara left, but it wasn't long before they left themselves towards their vehicles.
"Tonight was fun, I'm glad that you invited me, I haven't been able to enjoy myself like this in a long time." Vixen said as they first arrived to her vehicle.
"I had no idea who was even going to be here, but it was fun seeing everyone again and I suppose you were good company too." Naruto said, giving her a teasing glance at the end wit her musing over his words.
"Not bad huh? I suppose that I'll need to change that the next time we go out, how does next week sound?" Vixen wanted to take a chance and learn more about the Jinchuriki.
"W-what?" Naruto asked caught in surprise by the question and Kara was completely baffled by the sudden question.
"I asked if you had any plans for next week? I'm interested in you and this is the best way to get to know more about you." Vixen said, explaining her reasons as she saw how he was surprised by her question.
"I-I don't know. If I'm being honest, I've never been on a date before." Naruto managed to get out once he got out of his shock at being asked out by one of the most beautiful women he'd ever seen.
He wasn't sure though since what if once she got to know him, she'd start thinking of him as a monster or that would cause her to not want to be friends anymore. He didn't want to deal with another person thinking of him as such and couldn't go through with it if something were to happen. It would be too much for him if someone else turned their back on him.
He was brought out of his thoughts as Kara made herself known in response to Vixen's inquiry.
"I want a date with him too, but don't you think it's too soon since he's still trying to get back on his feet?" Kara said, getting his attention since he wasn't aware of this piece of information.
"Not at all, it would be good for him and help him get over what happened to him and besides, can't let someone get to him before someone else does or at least someone gets to him first." Vixen smirked at the Kryptonian who sputtered at what she was getting at.
"Since when did I get such interest from women?" Naruto cut them off asking his own question, confused by having them wanting to date him or go on one at least. It was surprising to him.
They turned towards him as if he grew a second head with what he just said, but Kara understood more of why he would think like this given his past with Konoha. Vixen however wasn't aware of what had really happened and only knew that he was betrayed. She was confused on why he would ask something like that and hopefully could find out why he reacted like this.
"You're more than interesting Naruto. You're a great guy, so don't be surprised that I'd... have feelings for you." Kara said the last bit more shyly since she was admitting something that she hadn't expected too right now.
"And she's not the only one who wants to see where this can go. I may have feelings like she might right now, but I know you're a good and handsome guy." Vixen said making him blush at their words, leaving him speechless.
"I-I..." He sighed and took a deep breath to get himself under control. "I'd like that, but what about you two? I don't really want to hurt either of you if something were to become more. I'm not that kind of person to hurt someone if I can help it." He said with a light smile getting them to nod in understanding at what he was saying which made them smile at his caring nature.
Kara already aware of this was not surprised that he would put them before himself, but was glad that despite everything he's gone through, he still shows that he hasn't changed on caring for those that are precious to him. Vixen liked this side of him at how much he valued their opinions and feelings regarding the matter.
"Didn't you once tell me that you were the last member of your clan?" Kara asked, as he nodded slowly at her question.
"Clan, what clan? Where's he from exactly?" Vixen asked, even more intrigued and wondering what she was talking about with her hands on her wide hips.
"I'm from another dimension and when I left this one to mine, it was to get rid of a group of terrorists that were wanting to rule the world. As for my clan, I'm from the Uzumaki clan that had their own island and was on the rise to become one of the most powerful villages in the world. Due to this among a few other things, they grew to be feared by the others that they'd become too strong, so they were attacked to near extinction." Naruto explained in a sad tone as his body slacked remembering what his mother told him.
"Extinct? How many survivors were there?" Vixen asked with wide eyes as she contemplated what she learned about him and was sickened and saddened to what had happened. Kara hadn't been aware of that particular information and was just as shocked if not angry knowing that they were similar being the last survivors of a clan or race.
"As far as I know only a few with my mother being one of them and yes, before I originally came here, I had been expected to have more than one wife at some point, but I'm not sure I can do that to you, Vixen, or any girl for that matter." Naruto said as they smiled at his thoughtfulness since most guys would jump at the chance at having a harem and here this guy was thinking more about them than himself.
"I think we can work something out, but not before until after our date we can talk more about it than." Vixen said with smirk seeing him be so shocked at what she was saying. Kara meanwhile wasn't sure what to say, but knew that they would definitely be talking about this more after their date of course.
"If you're sure than that's fine with me. I'll take both of you out on a date and see where things go. Next week works for me." Naruto said as they nodded with Vixen getting to her car and closing it, but had the window rolled down.
"See ya whiskers, I'll give you my number and we can work on the finer details later." Vixen said as she wrote her phone number down and gave it to him before rolling the window up and pulling away from Naruto and Kara.
"So when do I get my date?" Kara asked with a wide smile as he chuckled knowing what she was getting at.
"Of course, like I'd deny you something like that after what you just told me, but... are you sure you want someone as broken as me?" Naruto whispered the last part showing some of his fear to her.
To his confusion she simply and gently grabbed his hand in hers and gave him a soft smile.
"No matter what happens, I'd never turn my back on you. I'd be nothing like Konoha and the other villages. I care about you too much to be like them and I know that scares you." Kara said when a realization came to her as they pulled away themselves in their car before taking off. "That's why you've been so distant and afraid to meet with anyone isn't it?" He turned away as if to prove her point which she sighed sadly at.
"I know I shouldn't feel like this with everyone here, but I just can't help, but be afraid that they'll end up turning their backs on me and if I kept my distance with everyone than I would be safe." Naruto said he couldn't even look at her as he was ashamed that he was even thinking they'd turn on them.
Kara couldn't blame him for feeling like this or even thinking like this since he once trusted the people that he had been close with and look at what that did to him. To think he would be so affected that he would be suspicious of any of them doing the same thing.
"Naruto, we won't ever be like those in your old world. Never think like that with us as we will never think of you as any different than the Naruto Uzumaki that we've known for years." Kara said as he couldn't stop himself from his eyes moistening at her words and the sincerity in them.
He nodded to her with a small smile, but didn't say anything else and grabbed her left hand with his right one and just held it. She let it happen and said nothing else as they spent the rest of the car ride in peaceful silence.
A Few Days Later, The Watchtower
Aboard the Watchtower, Diana in a business dress, is preparing to attend a summit on global warming on behalf of Themyscira.
Diana had her hair in a bun while wearing a purple jacket that covered her black top and black skirt while wearing black heels to finish the look.
She looked at J'onn, Green Arrow, and Mr. Terrific who were watching screens of various Leaguers dealing with crimes and villains.
"Big date?" Green Arrow asked the two who walked up.
"No. I'm representing Themyscira at the summit concerning Global Warming." Diana replied, getting a thumbs up from the Green Arrow.
"Way to go, man. Save the planet."
"More like saving my relationship with my mother." Diana replied.
"Hey, at least you're speaking again." He pointed out, hoping to bring something positive in the situation.
"It's the first thing she's asked me to do since we mended fences. I'd rather take another day trip to Tartarus." She replied with her right hand on her hip.
"I think you'll make a great diplomat… Leave your sword." He told her.
"I'm serious, I really don't want to go by myself."
"J'onn, how about you come along and keep me company?" Diana asked, wanting her longtime friend to help her.
"The Justice League currently has 23 active missions in progress and only I can deploy what remains of our resources." J'onn countered while typing on the board in front of him while Diana scoffed at his words.
"Oh please, Mr. Terrific is more than capable of running things himself. And the crossword at the same time." Diana pointed out.
"Yeah, go ahead J'onn. I'm done with today's puzzle already." Mr. Terrific replied.
"You did it in pen again, didn't you?" Green Arrow asked as Diana crossed her arms.
"Mr. Terrific is more than capable, but I insist on where i'm needed." J'onn said, not wanting to leave from his duty.
"Turn around and talk to me." Diana said and he did as told as he faced them and continued. "You've been cooped up here like a hermit in the watchtower for almost two years now." She said in a mild worry tone as Green Arrow was leaning on one of the panels as he watched on.
"I can better serve the league-" Diana cut him off.
"We're not even going to have that argument. You're really strong, a telepathic shape-changer." She gained a realization and softened her eyes at him before continuing. "The reason you're not down there is because you don't want to be. You don't like humanity much, do you?"
"I don't... dislike them." J'onn admitted.
"You're not the only one who's new to this world around here. People have strange ways. But it's worth the effort. They're worth the effort." Diana said, crossing her arms under her bust.
"She's got your number, J'onn. You need to mingle with more people and maybe take a commissary every once in a while." Green Arrow commented while walking over.
"My martian physiology doesn't require as many meals as a human." J'onn said, but was quickly met with Diana's response.
"You know what he means, you must be terribly lonely." He turns away from her with a frown marring his facial features as she began walking away. "I gotta go, but we're not done talking about this." She finished as she took the elevator.
J'onn doesn't reply to her words, but knows that he has some thinking to do as she had a point in some aspects.
Kent's Farmhouse
Naruto is currently in the kitchen with his laptop out as he's working on a new book along with making finishing his purchase for his new soon to be residence, now that all the Ich Icha series have been published now and has met with a lot of success in how well they've been selling, much to his humor seeing how popular they are, even among women in that manner. He was wearing loose clothes to show that he hadn't planned on doing anything today except probably work on his book.
After that night with everyone, he had been thinking about what she and Vixen said and if he was being completely honest with himself, he liked them both, but didn't know what to do in this situation. He was brought out of his thoughts and musings when he heard someone knock at the door. Blinking his eyes at the sudden action, not expecting any visitors to come by. He got up and walked over to the door and was surprised to see Diana was there and dressed really formally, although if he was being serious, that skirt was a little too short for his liking.
"Mom, what are you doing here? Not that I don't mind a visit, but I wasn't expecting you at all." Naruto said in surprise at her sudden appearance, but not an unwelcome one.
"I'm sorry for dropping in so suddenly, but I was wanting to ask you something, may I come in?" Diana asked and he nodded and led her to the kitchen where he was working.
"What is it you need?" Naruto asked with a raised eyebrow in curiosity.
"There's a diplomatic summit taking place and I was hoping that you'd be able to accompany me?" She asked much to her embarrassment at asking him for help like this and when he smirked at her knowing what that look entailed.
"Oh, that famous and ever strong Wonder Woman needs help?" He couldn't help, but tease her as she blushed in embarrassment and attempted to punch him in the shoulder, but he dodged it and laughed. She soon joined in for a moment.
Once they settled down, she gave him a smile in gratitude for helping as she was no longer feeling nervous.
"Of course, I'll go with you, but what will you tell everyone when/if they ask about me? Not many know about the relationship that we have." Naruto said with confusion.
"We'll tell them as it is, that I'm your adopted mother and you're my son. Even if you're adopted you still are dear to me." Diana said making his eyes widen at her heartfelt words that made him once more feel so stupid for thinking she'd be like everyone in the Elemental Nations.
"Give me about fifteen minutes to get ready and I'll make sure to leave an impression on everyone." Naruto said as she nodded with a grateful smile as he went to his room to get change.
Like he said, fifteen minutes later he was back and was wearing completely different clothes, ones that made him look sharp and even more handsome. Diana made a mental thought to keep the women away from him that may approach him.
He was now wearing a gray collared shirt with a black tie with a black belt and matching black pants and jacket. To finish the look he had black dress shoes to complete the look. Sadly, he couldn't do anything about his hair as no matter how much he tried to comb it or to do something about it, nothing worked as it would just go back to what it was.
"You look good, Naruto. I appreciate this for what you're doing for me." She said in gratitude for him.
"Of course, I could use a small break from work anyway and besides, this gives us time to spend together and catch up a bit more." Naruto said with a shrug.
She nodded and took her arm in his and then left using the Watchtower teleporter that would send them to their destination.
And that's the end of the chapter, I know it's been so long since I last updated and I'm sorry for taking so long. I did get this one done quicker though, so that's got to count for something, right? Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed your Christmas and New Years. Next chapter will have a lot of action and Naruto will be going on dates with Vixen and Kara. Hope you guys enjoyed the chapter.
