Heyo readers! Just to clarify, chapters will not be consistent on release yet because I want to test the waters and see what's the best day, I'm a bit ahead of writing and have another chapter already 90% done. Anyway, hope you enjoy this one!
In the world of Remnant, there was a long war that threatened the very idea of individuality, color, and freedom. Naturally, individuality and freedom prevailed. The children of those who fought in that war were named after colors.
In THIS world, life is strong. People live and learn! They live life to the fullest and treat every day like a new venture. They reach for the stars because they know that the world has endless possibilities. And no one else knows that better than Sonic The Hedgehog.
A blue streak speeds by as Sonic The Hedgehog blazes past the familiar grass of Green Hill Zone. He takes a deep breath of fresh air as he runs through his old playground, and a fresh breeze fills the morning air. He runs up on top of the highest loop-de-loop in the Zone and looks out to enjoy the scenery. He heard a rumor that there were monsters roaming this area about a month ago, but it doesn't look too chaotic.
"Hmm…" Sonic steps backward, letting himself fall off. He does a flip and lands on the foot of the loop-de-loop running. He smiles, running his hands across the soft grass as he runs through the massive loop-de-loop, launching himself into the Zone. He makes way to the edge of Green Hill Zone. Eggman always has a few weak badniks roaming about, catching little Mobini. The blue speedster smashes them on the way and makes his way to… where he thought there was a large hill. Sonic knows this Zone like the back of his hand, but it looks like something had carved out the hill and left a crater. He touched the edge of the crater with his hands. This wasn't just some kind of construction bot that Eggman would make. This dirt and stone had been finely cut with precision. "What in the…"
Suddenly, a voice pipes up on his communicator with Tails. The Heroic Hog adjusts his glove to accept the call. "Sonic! Eggman's forces are surging into the city! We need you here now!"
"Hold on, Tails, I'm on my way!" He took a quick look back at the crater before blasting off at the speed of sound. He had an odd feeling that something bad was going on.
Rewinding a bit back to a month ago.
After a restful slumber, Bléu woke up in her room and stretched. She went to the bathroom, thankful that her anatomy didn't change TOO much. She relieved herself and washed her face. Remembering what happened last night, she looked in the mirror. "Penny? Can you hear me?"
She blinked, and Bléu's left silver eye turned into a green hue. [Yes, I can, Miss Bléu!] Penny's voice was projected into the techno wizard's mind. [It is very comfy in your head when you sleep.]
Bléu let out a sigh of relief. She didn't know if Penny really made it or not. "Okay. Good."
[I think I'm pretty much caught up. This world is very interesting!] Penny kept up her cheery personality. [We shouldn't keep Shadow waiting for too long.]
"Right… let's go." She picked out something comfortable, a cute red dress that Amy picked out for her, and some red and white sneakers. She never wore sneakers before since She was never too athletic, but it seemed to be a common fashion trend in this world. An idea came to her as she dug into her blue hoodie. she pulled out her Scroll. (A/N: RWBY version of phones. Ik, it's stupid.) It was absolutely fried. The hard-light dust material must have shattered when she was transported to this world. "Damnit, all my cute pictures of Ruby were on that…"
[You know, Bléu, if you still have the things you were wearing, like your Dust and Scroll… Then maybe you, well, we, never got killed by Ruby…] Penny pointed out a surprisingly obvious fact that never occurred to Bléu.
"Okay… yeah, maybe I watch too much anime, I was under a lot of stress yesterday, okay?" The blue and green hedgehog blushed as she walked over to the door and opened it with her Semblance. Shadow and Rouge were on the other side, both with concerned faces. "Oh, you guys… probably heard that, huh?" She knew there was no point in hiding.
"Yeah, you were talking to yourself, hon." Rouge said, putting on a weak smile to hide her concern.
On one hand, she could just lie and say that it's a weird habit of hers… which was true to an extent. If this comes up later and they find out she was lying, that could build a wedge in their trust in her. Or option B. Come clean and tell them what's up, this could either make her look crazy… or in some weird slim chance. They believe her. [Wow, your brain thinks very fast…] Penny spoke without thinking, but it was true. She thought about both tracks of thoughts in less than a few seconds.
Bléu looks to the side as if she was looking at Penny, giving her a slight glare. "Alright, I have no reason to lie…" The young hedgehog told them about how Penny 'died' back in her world. "And so, when I checked her body, I was able to… store her with my semblance. And now she lives in my head. I just figured this out last night…"
Both of them had a surprised look on their faces. Shadow shrugged and walked off. Rouge piped up. "Well, that's good at least… You're too young to be dealing with losses like that anyway. C'mon, we have a mission for you." She smiled warmly, rubbing Bléu's arm for a second before following behind Shadow. "And bring that bag of gorgeous jewels. You might want to have them on hand today. We're bringing you to the R room for today"
Blinking a few times, Bléu watched as they walked away. "Huh…"
[Neat]
"Penny…"
[Right, sorry, I'll stop reading your thoughts!] Penny's echoed giggle made Bléu smile.
The Bléunette sighed. "It's fine. I was actually gonna ask." She grabbed her Dust bag and started following them. [Do you think we can even trust these people?] Bléu said in her thoughts to Penny, not risking any escaped words.
[I don't see why not, Shadow reminds me a lot of Blake. And Rouge is a very nice lady! Despite not knowing you, they both already have been very nice to you.] Penny states, optimistic about meeting these new friends. Bléu shrugged. She did tend to overthink things a lot, so she decided to put her trust into these odd animal people.
After a quick stop for some breakfast, Rouge and Shadow took the otherworldly girl to a room that was filled with tools and mechanical materials. "G.U.N. uses this as its R room. They make new kinds of weapons for their soldiers here." Rouge explains, "Those claw weapons of yours got damaged when you came here, so we thought you'd want to repair them while you fixed Shadow's shoes."
"Hmph…" Shadow looked over at his air shoes that were sitting on a table. "The fight against Eggman and his forces never ends. Once you're finished, I'll take you out into the world and ensure that you can handle yourself in a fight."
Bléu went wide-eyed as she peered into this room. She gasped and zoomed into the R room, zipping around and gushing. "Whoa! You guys have everything! A 1000W fiber laser! Wow! 3D printers! Oooh, this is a very nice oscilloscope! I'll be able to fix both of our weapons! Ooh, maybe even whip up a new gadget that will track my Aura…"
"Alright, sounds like you'll be fine here. We'll leave you to it." Rouge chuckles at the young girl. They both walk out of the R room and leave Bléu to her own devices. "She geeks out just like Tails does." The sexy bat lady found her enthusiasm for technology amusing.
"Mm…" Shadow acknowledged Rouge's words.
She set her things down and picked up Shadow's shoes. Using her semblance, she took a better look at what she was working with. She smiled, already getting a few ideas already. She slipped a hand into her Dust bag, pulling out a couple of gray colored Dust crystals. The young hedgehog grabbed some tools and got to work.
And now, back to where we left off, sticking with Shadow and Bléu.
A month has passed since Bléu came to this world. After she settled in and repaired her weapons and Shadow's melted air shoes, Shadow took her out into the world and made sure she knew how to fight. Fortunately, she didn't need much direction. Much to the Ultimate Lifeform's surprise, the blue and green hedgehog was perfectly capable in the field.
We find ourselves in an Eggman base, Motobugs rolled into action when they were alerted that there was a break in. Two claws shot out of the darkness. They looked like something you would see in a claw machine at an arcade. The claws lodged themselves into the heads of the unassuming robots and crushed their heads. Bléu jumped out of the shadows and retracted her claws by the chains that connected them to her weapon, Viel Klaue. She smirked and began swinging her new battering rams into the other small fry robots. Her weapons looked and acted similar to Clawshots from Zelda, but she fought with her claws and chains like Kratos or an ARMS character.
She made quick work of the motobugs and sighed, giving a thumbs up to the dark hedgehog behind her. "Easy!"
"Hmph…" Shadow walked past her, unimpressed. They were just motobugs, quite literally some of the weakest bots in the Eggman empire.
Bléu rolled her eyes and followed. "You know, I've been thinking, I see you use that Chaos Emerald a lot. Do you think I could try using that Chaos Control technique?"
Shadow looked back with a light glare but kept walking.
"What am I gonna do, steal it? I fixed your shoes and I've clearly shown that I'm on your side. I'll give it right back." She pouted.
"Hmm… fine." The technomancer even gave the artificial hedgehog some Dust to improve his shoes. He tosses the purple Emerald to her, and she catches it with her claw.
They both stop, and her weapon contracts into her wrists. "Alright, thoughts into power, right? I have a smart brain, so you might wanna stand back. Chaos… Control!" She raises the Emerald up high and shouts, concentrating her mind to stop time like he does. Shadow stands motionless, watching intently as she attempts using the Chaos Emerald. The blue and green hedgehog blinks a couple of times, looking at Shadow. She walks closer and waves her hand in front of his face. "Did it… work?" Shadow suddenly extended his hand and plucked the Emerald from her hand, "DAH!" She jumps back, startled.
"Not everyone can harness the power of the emeralds." The red and black hog turned and kept walking. "Some people just don't have what it takes."
"Well that's just not fair." Bléu pouted and muttered under her breath.
[Those Chaos Emeralds seem to hold a lot of power. I wonder what happens if you collect all seven of them.] Penny's voice pondered in the blunette's head. Shadow and Bléu ran through the base and destroyed several robots as they went.
"Whoa…" Bléu went wide-eyed as they arrived at a huge room that housed a massive white and gray robot with a large red eye on its head.
Several small mechanic bots floated around it, working on the construction of the massive bot. "Hah!" Shadow threw several of his Chaos Spears to destroy the construction bots. Upon getting a closer look, he motioned for his ally to check the robot out.
She nodded and placed her hand on the foot of the robot giant. She was surprised by how fast she was able to use her Semblance. Her eyes glowed both blue and green now. "Whoa… again. This thing is fully automatic, with no room for a cockpit."
"Can you change its programming?"
She shook her head. "Not with my Semblance, this thing is too big and complicated. I could get it eventually, but that would take too long and it would wake up before I could finish. Might be best to just destroy it. I can erase its programming so it doesn't wake up, though." A few moments pass, and she nods, stepping back. "Alright, go."
Shadow nodded and used a spin dash to wreck the robot, riddling it with holes and destroying it beyond repair. Once he finished, the giant Death Egg Robot collapsed under its own weight and turned into a pile of scrap.
"Dang. I still can't get over how strong you are. Something that size back home would cost a fortune and would need a few Huntsmen to even scratch it. This Eggman guy puts the Atlas military to shame!"
Shadow dusts himself off, "The doctor is very resourceful. He's made countless robots of this size over the years…"
"Makes me wonder why he bothers with the little pawns and bug robots. They're flimsier than Beowolves…" Bléu frowns as she makes this observation. Just then, Shadow's communicator started to beep.
"Shadow!" Rouge shouts, exasperated, "We just got word that Eggman has defeated Sonic."
Shadow's eyes widened. "What?!" For the first time in the entire month that Bléu spent with him, Shadow looked visibly surprised. This Sonic person must be quite the fighter for Shadow to be taken aback like this. Amy certainly made sure that Bléu knew that he was a world-renowned hero.
"Drop what you're doing there. We need you to evacuate the city that's close by."
"Right. We're on it." He turned the communicator off and wasted no time as he started skating faster than he did before.
"Wait. Sonic? As in… fastest thing alive? The hero guy?" Bléu ran after Shadow. She could barely keep up with him. "Sh-Shadow! Slow down! I can't run that fast!"
Shadow was getting held back by the younger hedgehog. This was an emergency, he had no time to lose.
"Once you exit the base, head east. I'll link up with you later."
"Shadow!" Bléu shouted as he skated away faster and faster. Within seconds, Shadow broke the sound barrier and left her in the dust. "WHOA.."
[Did he…?]
"Just went supersonic? Yeah, I heard the boom, too." The girl stopped momentarily, "Penny, this world scares me." She shook her head and kept running.
Some time later, Bléu finally makes it to the city. "Oh, my gods…" She had to take a breather. She wasn't used to running this much. Sure, she's gotten faster by training and going on missions with Shadow, but she could feel her heart pounding in her chest. Screams were heard all around her. The blue and green hedgehog gasped when she heard a familiar growling. "No." Bléu turned a corner, and her heart plummeted to her stomach. She found a few bodies of humans and mobians alike, unmoving. Above them stood the Grimm, an entire pack of Beowolves. They turned around, sensing the anguish in Bléu. They growled and barked out before rushing towards her.
Bléu frowned, she threw out her arms and let her weapon form around them again. Instead of the clawshots she used before, the claws meshed together and formed a new weapon. She jumped into the air and shot behind herself with a round of Dust, propelling her into the first beowolf. She used both of her feet to kick into the first Grimm, knocking its head clean off. Changing back to her claws, she got to work. Slicing through these Grimm was just like back at home, maybe a little harder. She did noticeably shrink when she was changed into a hedgehog, so now she had to use more force when she was gutting into these Beowolves.
There were only a few of them, so Bléu took them out in under a minute. When they fell to the floor, Bléu and Penny both noticed something odd about these Grimm in particular. "They're not… turning to ashes?" Instead, they faded out all at once in a glitchy red aura.
[We can worry about that later. I hear people screaming.] Penny said, worried for the innocent people.
"Right," Bléu blinked and turned her attention to the shouting. Shooting her clawshot onto a street light, she launched herself forward and began swinging through the city just like a certain webslinger. Thankfully, Bléu was able to save a number of people. Killing Grimm and running through the city, clearing a path for people to escape.
"You…" A cold shiver crawled up Bléu's back as she heard a voice from behind her. She slowly turned around and saw a black haired fox Mobian with half of a mask on her face. "Those weapons. That hair…" her face widened even more when she made eye contact with the silver-eyed hedgehog. "Those damn Silver eyes!" All of a sudden, the air around them was sweltering. Fire erupted from her hands as she floated upwards.
"Cinder…" Bléu took a step back, trembling in fear as she recognized her voice. She heard that voice in her nightmares when she would dream about The Fall.
"Your stupid girlfriend is the reason that I ended up here!" She stepped forward. The air got hotter, more and more Grimm began to appear next to her. Beowolves, Ursai, Death Stalkers. dozens of them surrounded the blue and green hedgehog. Bléu shot a few of them with ice dust, but they melted too fast with Cinder right there.
Bléu fell to the ground and froze in fear as Cinder unleashed her wrath with a torrent of flame. The Fall Maiden lifted her hand and threw a giant fireball at the helpless hedgehog, "You and Ruby will die by my hand!"
"Chaos Control!"
Bléu suddenly was far away from the blast of fire that she heard off in the distance. Gasping for air, Bléu fell to her knees and started hyperventilating from the near-death experience. "Oh man. Ohmanohmanohmanohman…" She caught her breath, and sweat was beading off her face as she processed what had just happened.
"NO!" Cinder shouted and threw more fire down, shooting a blast of fire at a nearby building, causing it to light ablaze.
"CINDER!" Eggman's voice curdled out as she was having her tantrum. But she didn't listen, causing Eggman to press the button on his glove yet again. Electricity shot through Cinder's body, and she fell to the ground. All of the Grimm vanished as a result. "What was that all about? First, you start killing the would-be prisoners. Now you suddenly call all your Grimm to one location? Shadow has already intercepted and saved a lot more of them than I'd like. We have Sonic, now we need to retreat!" He pulled a lever on his Egg Mobile and looked at her once again. "This conversation is not over!" Eggman shouted furiously before he flew off in his hovercraft.
Cinder looked away and had a crazed look in her eye as she now knows that the other silver eyed girl is here now. She took a deep breath, reminding herself that it was Ruby that sent her here, not Bléu. Cinder lifted herself with her Fall Maiden powers and flew away. She'll get her revenge, but not today, it seems.
Bléu finally stopped hyperventilating and looked around. Seeing that Shadow saved her, the young girl sighed and calmed down. "Th-thanks… that's twice you've saved my life now."
Realizing that she was okay now, Shadow dismissed her, "Hmph…" he took a few steps away, looking out over the burning city and watched as Cinder and Eggman made their exit. "Eggman doesn't kill people unless they're in his way. That person he's allied himself with is dangerous." he crossed his arms and looked at the burning buildings, frowning as he saw bodies.
"Cinder Fall…" She steps up and stands next to the Ultimate Lifeform.
"That's her name… she killed one of my closest friends. She caused the destruction of my school. She gathered hundreds of Grimm and released them into the streets of Vale." Memories flashed in her mind from The Fall. This feeling was all too familiar. First, a world-renowned fighter is at the center of a fight, and now the world seems to panic because they no longer have a hero. "She's just as much of a monster as the Grimm. From what I know of her, she wants to see my world burn… and I'm sorry she ended up here."
Yeah, Cinder is kind of an evil bitch. Next chapter will be when Bléu meets the rest of the Forces Cast and I'm DEFINITELY excited for that. I'm thinking of posting next Wednesday? Let me know what you think
