Oh boy, do we have a long one today.
So, it's been a while since I was on this site, and I'm getting a new lay of the land. As a precautionary warning. I will not be taking any services that offer to draw my fanfic as a comic. I have my own artists that I can commission if I really want.

Some1call4MR-E: I might get around to reading that recommendation, but I did look at the chapter number. It's got quite a few chapters under its belt. I'm not saying no, I'm just saying it might be a while for me to sit down and read all of that. As for Belle, yes, I do love the concept of her, and yes, she and Penny would be AMAZING friends… unfortunately, she is built after Sonic Forces, so I can't justify bringing her into this story. A small bit of a spoiler, I do plan on giving Penny a body before they go back to Remnant, so maybe Eggman will get some inspiration embedded into his subconscious and desire to build a daughter (Or two). Have Penny be the reason that Belle and Sage exist.
The blue and green hedgehog sighs as she runs through the Chemical Plant. The events of today play out in her mind. Making it to the Resistance Base, meeting all of Sonic's friends.
"He's being held at the Death Egg out in space." Knuckles stated, clearly happy to finally have some good news. Things were dire for many months, but this is probably the best miracle that they could hope for.
Amongst the gasps and cheers all around in the room, Bléu cocked her head. "Wait. In space? As in… outside of the atmosphere?" The child from Remnant was clearly more taken aback by the fact that space travel is a thing.
"Yeah!" Knuckles smiled, and fist bumped Vector the Crocodile.
"I didn't know that you guys had technology that can make it out to space." She takes out her bag of Dust Crystals. "Back at home, this is what we use for power, and it doesn't work in space. Wait, so then that means that the Death Egg is… much bigger than I thought." She said, putting size into perspective.
"Well… we don't, which is why you and the Chaotix are going to borrow one of Eggman's, tonight." Team Chaotix gave gestures of reassurance.
"Wait… Me?"
"Of course! I know you just got here, but getting Sonic back is our number one priority. The Chaotix are capable and pretty good at hacking into things. But I think you would really ensure that this all runs much more smoothly."
Bléu snapped out of her flashback to deal with some robots. She lit several Egg Pawns ablaze with her new Wispon. "Ugh. this thing is so clunky… I could make the designs so much better."
[Isn't one of your dreams to go to space? Sure, it's not our space, but when else are you going to get a chance like this?] Penny responded, trying to find out why her friend was upset.
"Yeah, and I'm definitely excited! But part of me wants to stay behind and look at all the weapons they have…" Bléu pouted as she used her clawshot to pull herself into a spring that sent her upwards.
The Bléuberry thought back to her conversation with Amy. [I wish I could go help my precious Sonic, but Sticks and I need to hold down the fort here.] The blue and green hedgehog handed Amy the bag of Dust crystals, explaining that she won't be able to take them into space.
Bléu landed on a platform and crossed her arms. "Also, those little wisp guys are super cute."
"Talking to yourself?"
"GAH!" Espio suddenly made himself visible next to Bléu, causing the hedgehog to stumble on the platform. The chameleon grabbed her hand and made sure she didn't fall. "Please never do that again."
"Sorry…"
"It's fine…" She steadied herself and stood back on the platform while Espio talked into his communicator. It's weird. This Chameleon had an incredibly familiar vibe to her ninja friend back at home, Lie Ren. He was quiet at most times but willing to speak when needed. Not to mention that they're both ninjas. Just like everything in this world, though, Espio was much better at being a ninja than Ren or even Blake.
"Espio here, my team and I are engaging the enemy in the orbital tunnel. I think we can hold them off for-" Suddenly, a loud explosion went off nearby. "No, wait! The masked one's here!" Bléu's eyes widened when she turned around and saw Cinder disposing of the rest of Espio's team. Thankfully, she was only knocking them out, but that could change very quickly. The silver-eyed hedgehog grabbed Espio and jumped off of the platform. "What the, hey!"
She pulled the chameleon ninja behind a pipe and hid. She grabbed his wrist and spoke into the communicator. "Everyone, listen to me very closely. The masked one's name is Cinder Fall. She's too dangerous for anyone to take in a head-on fight, Shadow the Hedgehog barely escaped her. If she gets even a hint that I'm here, she might tear this place apart looking for me. Have everyone retreat, I can get the ship running on my own."
Knuckles pipes in. "You all heard the rookie. Everyone, except The Chaotix and Bléu, fall back!"
Espio was taken aback. "How do you-"
"I'll explain on the ship. Come on!" She whispered before running off and heading straight to the ship. Espio looked concerned before vanishing with his ninja chameleon powers.
All three members of the Chaotix split off from their squads and stealthily made their way to the shuttle. Charmy and Espio were right behind the blue and green hedgehog, but Vector was lagging behind. "Come on, Vector! We can't leave without you!" The buzzing bee boy said over the intercom.
Bléu was the first one to make it to the ship. She took out the guards with her new Wispon and then ran into the shuttle.
[Those Wisps pack a huge punch. It's way more cost-effective than Dust. How is the little-]
"Penny. I just need two seconds to concentrate." Her eyes glowed in with both of their Auras as she activated her Semblance.
"Do you need help?"
"DAH! STOP DOING THAT!" Her concentration broke, and she glared at the ninja lizard. "Check the door and make sure everyone gets in!" Espio simply nodded and kept an eye out for Charmy and Vector. Charmy Bee flew in and was about to burst into his usual talkative self, but Espio grabbed him and covered his mouth.
"Where's Vector?" The ninja quickly and quietly said, pointing at how Bléu was concentrating on learning how the ship worked.
"START THE ENGINNESS!" Vector was running as fast as he could as he was barely dodging attacks left and right from the masked Cinder Fall. The crocodile ducked under a fireball as he approached rapidly.
"Kid! Get us in the air!" Charmy looked back, shouting at the hedgehog.
"Got it!" Using her Semblance, she fired up the shuttle, and it began floating. "Get him in here, NOW!"
Vector turned around and suddenly jumped up into the air, straight at Cinder. He was no Sonic, Shadow, or even Knuckles. But he was a big beefy crocodile! "RHAH!" He clocked Cinder right in the face, and she clearly wasn't expecting that. The Fall Maiden was sent flying through a pipeline. Turning his heel, Vector made a break for it and reached for Espio's hand as they lifted off.
The loud leader's hand grazed against Espio's glove before he felt something around his tail. The next thing he knew, he was thrown backward. Cinder recovered and was about to send hellfire into the shuttle, frying anything inside. Then she got kicked in the head by a familiar black and red Hedgehog. "Vector!" Charmy blurted out to his leader.
"GO!" Shadow yelled at them, holding down Cinder. Espio understood and pulled Charmy back into the ship.
"You!" Cinder growled at the Ultimate Lifeform. Using her magic to blast Shadow off, she threw a last-ditch fireball at the shuttle. She missed, and Cinder turned back to Shadow, who had teleported over to Vector, helping him up. "You won't get away again!" Shadow looked over at Cinder. He clicked his heels together and threw a kick that fired a round of wind Dust. She blocked it with her left arm, and it made a clanging sound. "Seriously? There's only one way you could have gotten that Dust. That means Bléu must be on that ship."
Vector felt a trickle of water on his head as he got out of the wreckage. "Heh… sorry old buddy. I was a bit too slow. Thanks for the save, though. I knew that you didn't really turn back to evil." Vector groaned as he rubbed his neck. "Think we can take her together?"
Just as he said that, illusions of Zavok, Metal Sonic, and more Shadows began to pop up. "No. Cover me." He said as he took out his purple Chaos Emerald and stood behind the Crocodile. The shitty musician smiled and got out his microphone, he screamed into the microphone and sent out a huge shockwave that would keep the illusions and Cinder at bay just long enough for the Ultimate Hedgehog to use Chaos Control and get them out of the Chemical Plant.
Cinder was about to just let Shadow go so she could take a ship up to the Death Egg so she could go kill Bléu. But Eggman called on her intercom. [Cinder, I need you to -]
"Robotnik, the Resistance stole a ship from the Chemical Plant. I believe that they're trying to rescue the prisoners, I'm taking a ship to stop them!" Cinder hated reporting to this fat man, but she was indebted to him.
[Don't worry about that, I'm only detecting three of them on that ship. They won't get past Zavok and all my forces there.]
"But sir! Bléu is on that ship!"
[And she's in space, I did my research on that Dust material you brought here. It's useless once it reaches the upper atmosphere. She'll be dead before she even gets to your copy of Zavok. Get here NOW. Shadow is in the area!] The Fall Maiden turned off the communicator and scowled as she watched the shuttle fly off into space before doing as she was told.
As Bléu, Espio, and Charmy finally took a sigh of relief. Bléu turned around in the chair. "Alright. Sorry, Penny."
"Penny? Who's that?" Charmy tilted his head as he fluttered away from the door.
Bléu sighed as she realized that she had to explain all over again. "Ugh. Does that communicator reach everyone?" Espio nodded and handed her a spare communicator, "Alright, we made it onto the shuttle." She spoke into the intercom and explained to Sonic's friends who she was and how she's from another universe, the atrocities that Cinder has committed, and how no one should underestimate her.
"This is some scary stuff. Eggman doesn't even go that far." Charmy said, dejected.
"We might have Eggman to thank for putting such a tight leash on her. I saw her screaming when she got electrocuted by her suit before I got to the ship." Espio said before the spaceship rumbled a bit. "Sounds like we're leaving the atmosphere."
"Already?" Bléu walked over to the window and went wide-eyed as she saw the whole of planet Earth. Sure, she's seen pictures, but that doesn't do justice. "Wow… everything looks so… beautiful, tiny…" Tears filled her eyes. She and Penny were the first mortals from Remnant to ever make it to outer space. Espio and Charmy patted Bléu on the back. They've been to space a handful of times. It's nice to see someone's reaction for the first time.
[Planet Mobius really is pretty.] Penny said warmly.
"Bléu, get back to the controls. We've got company!" Espio stated as he saw fighter jets on their way. The technomancer sighed and used her Semblance to start controlling the shuttle. She took her time getting back to her seat as she was capable of operating the ship through her Semblance.
Bléu had never operated a spaceship outside of video games, so she wasn't perfect. Several of Eggman's ships opened fire on the heroes. "Okay, I thought this would be more like a video game! We're taking a lot of damage! Does anyone see an entrance?"
Espio, Charmy, and Penny all scanned over the Death Egg. Espio, with the quick reaction time, pointed out a hangar. "There! Land us there!" Bléu nodded and redirected the flight path to the hangar. Still, they were under fire. The technomancer directed their guns as efficiently as she could, but this ship was toast. The space shuttle crash landed into the Death Egg's hangar as several Eggman robots began firing at their ship.
"Wait! We didn't bring space suits! We're not going to-" Just as Bléu said that, the glass was shattered by the robots. "What… How are we breathing?"
"Mobians can breathe in space, silly!" Charmy said cheerfully before grabbing his Drill Wispon and flying out of the ship, easily dodging the Eggman bot fire. He quickly used his spiny butt and Drill Wispon to destroy several of the robots.
"Come on. Once we clear the room, we'll go over our plan." Espio said before disappearing with his chameleon abilities and began taking out bots with his teammate.
"That doesn't make any sense! Space is a vacuum! Our lungs should be exploding! Jeez… it's still cold." She frowned as she took control of the ship guns and began firing. Luckily, some of the guns were still in working order, and together, Bléu and two-thirds of The Chaotix cleared the room. Taking a deep breath, the blue haired teen began rubbing her hands together. "Very cold…" She began shaking.
Fortunately, the red Wisp from her new weapon sensed her plea. It jumped out of the Wispon and into Bléu, warming her up. "H-huh?" She gasped as she instantly felt warmer with the strange space alien cozied up inside her.
"The Wisp-"
"Dah! Espio! I swear to God. I'm going to slap you next time!" The Bléunette frowned at the ninja lizard, garnering a chuckle out of Charmy.
"The Wisps are friendly, but they don't normally give their 100% to just anyone they meet. This one must like you… or he just feels bad that you're cold. It's probably the latter since you're not engulfed in flames." Espio explained.
"Well… I don't think I want to be engulfed in flames. So what's the plan?"
Espio pulled out a map of the Death Egg as a hologram. "The prisoners are being held in a big containment facility in the upper part of the Death Egg here, but the generator that powers the cells is placed in an area near the bottom of the facility here."
"Since we don't have an escape plan anymore, we're going to have to steal another ship to get back home." Charmy pointed out.
Espio piped back up. "Which leads to the bad news… You'll have to save the prisoners by yourself, Charmy and I are going to be too busy with making sure we have a ship, you'll be meeting up with our spy on the inside."
"Good news is, once you turn off the generator, Sonic will be able to break himself out and get everyone to safety!" Charmy said enthusiastically, doing little spins as he flew around.
"That's your plan?! He's only one person, and we have to escort hundreds of people out of here!"
Espio and Charmy share a slightly confused glance. "Wow, you really are from another universe!" The bee said with a smile.
Bléu felt like she was being patronized and did not like it one bit. However, she had no choice but to follow orders here. It's not like she's got a better plan. "Ugh, fine. It's not like I can just leave, huh?"
Bléu split off from Charmy and Espio and ran through the Death Egg. It was a BIG facility with several twists and turns. The young hedgehog sighed as she realized that she had her work cut out for her. Navigating this battle station was no simple task. She got through with clever use of her Semblance, her clawshots, and her stat boost from Penny's Aura. But that didn't stop her thinking about her sack of Dust. Sure, she only had a few crystals left, and she had to save them for emergencies, but she was still missing fighting with Dust. Not that it would help her here. Dust crumbles into ash when it's taken outside of the atmosphere.
Meanwhile, at Sunset Heights
Tails sighed as he was fiddling with Omega, trying to repair the death machine. He was in a reclusive mood ever since Sonic was lost. As far as he knew, his best friend, his BROTHER, was dead.
The twin tailed fox was too depressed to aid in the resistance, at least not directly. Tails was looking for a Chaos Emerald and inadvertently found the Walking Arsenal in Green Hill Zone a few days ago. The yellow fox has been repairing him ever since. Omega was in really bad shape when he was found. Melted body, dents, and missing parts made the robot almost unrecognizable. Fortunately, Tails was pretty smart and had plenty of free time. He was just about finished up, but Omega would just not turn back on.
"I'm sorry I wasn't smart enough to fix you, buddy." He beat himself up, clearly not recognizing the amazing job he did to fix Omega.
Suddenly, he heard clanging behind him and turned around to see, "Metal Sonic?!" He frowned, instead of cowering in fear like a BITCH in the canon story, Tails pulled out his arm cannon from Sonic Battle and began shooting at the robotic hedgehog. They fight for a bit, Tails using his gadgets to hold his own.
Unfortunately, he still doesn't last long on his own. Getting beat down, the illusionary Metal Sonic grabbed Tails by the scruff and was ready to beat the fox into the ground.
Luckily, Shadow and Vector teleported in and saw Tails in danger. "Tails!" Vector shouted as Shadow made quick work of the fake of a fake of the faker. The Ultimate Lifeform used Chaos Control again to stop time and attacked the robot hog, landing several punches and kicks on it, sending it back into the dirt. The illusionary Metal Sonic glitched and faded from existence.
"Omega…" The black and red hedgehog approached the robot and saw that he was in prime condition.
Vector helped Tails stand and they walked up to the members of Team Dark. "I did what I could, but he just won't activate."
"He found the Chaos Emerald…" Shadow stated, sensing the chaotic energy within his friend.
"Yeah, that's how I was able to find him. Omega holed himself up in a dark cave, I never would have found him without it. I wasn't able to pry it out of him, but at least whatever melted him didn't get the Emerald."
"Melted…" flashes of Cinder ran through the hedgehog's mind. "So you don't know what's wrong with him?"
"No, there's nothing wrong with him, that's the weird thing." Tails scratched his head. "It's like he doesn't WANT to wake up."
"Vector, take him back to the Resistance. Tails and Bléu should be able to figure out how to-"
Vector stops Shadow mid-sentence. "That might have to wait until she gets back from space." Picking up the hulking Eggman robot, he sighed.
"So she WAS on that ship…" The Ultimate Lifeform said, brooding to himself.
"Who's Bléu?" The young fox asked.
Back on the Death Egg
Bléu Greann had to take several detours to avoid getting surrounded by the legions of Eggman's robots. She was alone in here and didn't want to raise any alarms. She was slow but steady in her approach to the generator. [I'm sorry…]
[What are you sorry for, Bléu?] Penny was surprised by this sudden apology.
[For yelling at you earlier.] The technomancer said as she used her Semblance to open a door, disabling any alarms connected to it. [I'm still not used to this whole, "being under pressure" thing. Grimm are one thing, they're predictable, manageable. All these robots and Cinder being a super powered psychopath is just stressful.]
[Don't worry. I have a good feeling about this Sonic person.]
[Yeah, everyone seems to feel the same way.] Bléu frowned, annoyed that she's constantly getting compared to him.
[He sounds just like a perfect Huntsman like in Ruby's dream. Saving the day, protecting those who can't protect themselves…]
"Wow, you dug deep for that memory. It seems like years ago when I first met her." The hedgehog said quietly, considering the ginger robot's words.
[She's my first friend! I couldn't help myself but learn all I could about her! There's nothing to do in here, and you have a very clear memory, it's like I'm there!]
"Yeah… having an eidetic memory is a blessing and a curse." The technomancer said after passing a troop of pawns.
"Talking to Penny?"
"DAH!" Bléu swung her hand around, aiming to slap the jump-scaring chameleon. Instead, her hand was caught by Rouge the Bat. "Rouge?! You're the spy?!"
Rouge sighed as alarms started blaring when it picked up the young hedgehog's shouting. "Subtlety is not your strong suit, huh?"
"Espio's been sneaking up on me all day, give me a break!" She and Rouge were quickly surrounded. They huddled back to back and got ready for a fight. Bléu had her clawshots form around her hands. "I'm assuming you can fight if you're here."
"Better than you, darling." Rouge said as she sent her foot through one of the cheap Egg Pawns that got too close. "Did you bring any of those fancy magic gems?" The thief asked, contemplating if she could snag a couple more from the naive girl.
"Nope. They turn to ash in space, so I left them back at the base. I wouldn't have been so sneaky if I had them." The student from another world explained as she grabbed two of the Egg Pawns and began clearing a path by swinging them around into other pawns. Rouge blinked and sweatdropped as she thanked herself for leaving her newest prize back at her personal secret hideout.
[We hear alarms, are you okay?] Espio said on the comms.
[Talk to us, rookie!] Knuckles's voice piped in.
"Knuckles! Can you hear me?"
[Rouge! It's about time you linked up with the rookie. How's Sonic doing?]
"He's been better. They've been torturing him here for months since he got here. Now that Eggman's finished building his army, he's going to launch Sonic out into space."
"He's what?!" Bléu said as she latched onto a pipe and swung alongside the flying bat. They weren't far from the generator.
[That's a new low, even for Eggman. The clock is ticking you two. Save Sonic!]
With Rouge and Bléu working together, they made it to the generator room. "Watch the door, this will take a bi-" Bléu stopped in her tracks as she saw two glittering gemstones that were in the power supply of the generator. "Are those…?"
"Looks like we hit the jackpot, Little Bléu!" Rouge flew to the glass casing and admired the beauty of the red and blue Chaos Emeralds, her eyes sparkled.
"Rouge, I need you to guard the door so I can shut this thing off!" Bléu shouted at the bat. By this time, they were deep enough into the Death Egg, so the red Wisp returned to Bléu's wispon and she was using it to keep the doors clear.
"Can't you just use your Ensemble thing and just turn everything off?" Rouge pouted as she wanted to nab the Emeralds right away.
"No, I used too much Aura getting here. I need to do this manually or else I won't be able to fight my way back out of here." The master thief rolled her eyes and tore herself away from the beautiful gems and guarded the door.
The young techno wizard stretched her fingers and popped them a bit. "Alright, this won't be easy, nor subtle… but hey, it'll be just like back in combat school when I hacked the lunch menu and changed the spinach to tater tots!" She smiled and got to typing, thinking about her preteen years in Alsius before she unlocked her Semblance. She began breaking down firewalls, tearing through passwords, all the 90s hacker terms.
[And just WHO do you think you are?!] A loud raspy voice bellowed throughout the room before Eggman's frowning face appeared on a big screen. Judging by the background, Eggman was in The Green Hill Zone.
"Eggman!" Rouge confirmed the fat man's identity as she fought back the robots.
[Sonic? No, you're the silver-eyed one that she won't stop yelling about. How did you get this far? No matter… You won't be able to beat Zavok! His power over machines far exceeds your Semblance!] He pressed a button, contacting the fake Zeti. [Zavok! Banish Sonic already! You need to head to the generator room and take out the intruder, NOW!]
Bléu's eyes widened when the fat man spoke about her Semblance. "Cinder…" Just how much did the Fall Maiden tell him? "I hear that you're a smart guy, I'm sure you can figure it out." The mischievous Bléunette snickered as she continued typing.
Eggman smirked. [And from what I hear, you're just as irritating as the blue rat that I just banished into space!]
"Aaannd… done!" The young techno wizard smiled as she pressed the final button to shut down the shields protecting the Chaos Emeralds. "Now!" She shouted back to Rouge to grab the Emeralds.
Earlier, within the containment cell
"This is the end, Sonic." Zavok walked up to the blue blur's prison cell and smirked. Despite being an illusionary copy made by the Phantom Ruby, the Zeti retained his arrogant attitude as he got ready to press the button to send Sonic into space. An explosion was heard in the distance before alarms began to sound throughout the Death Egg.
"Oh hey, sounds like the party's started! Wanna let me go and join in? Of course not. You hate fun." The fastest thing alive said, glaring at the illusion. Even though he just got through his final torture session, Sonic The Hedgehog kept up his snarky attitude with the Zeti.
[Zavok! Banish Sonic already! You need to head to the generator room and take out the intruder, NOW!] Eggman's voice shouted through the overhead speakers. Zavok immediately slammed a button and Sonic's cell was launched out into the cold dark abyss of space.
Zavok smiled and turned to leave, running off to go stop the intruders. "Sonic is no more." He said to Eggman before running off to dispatch of the intruders. He didn't get very far however. The cell doors of all the prisoners began to open. Thousands of Mobians and humans began to simply walk out of their cells. "No…" The Zeti turned around to Sonic's detached cell, the protective metal barrier suddenly blew a giant hole after Sonic used a spin dash to launch himself from his rocketing cell back into the Death Egg.
Sonic grabbed onto the railing and smirked as he turned to Zavok. His quills flew to the side as the vacuum of space tried its best to take the blue hedgehog to his death. A big ass grin spread across his face as the emergency energy shield covered the hole.
"Foolish hedgehog. Getting out of your chains does not make you free. Now come and face the inevitable." Zavok summoned a giant Buzz Bomber and rode it to the massive pillar in the middle of the prison.
With a scratch to his nose and a quick hop over to the pillar, Sonic got ready to fight this illusionary warrior. With the crowds of prisoners cheering the blue hedgehog on, he grit his teeth and smiled.
"NOOOO!" Eggman yelled as he watched Sonic break out of his cell and started fighting Zavok. He turned to the other monitor with another blue hedgehog. This one was quickly becoming just as much of a nuisance as the blue blur.
Rouge stopped fighting the robots and immediately flew to the Emeralds, smashing the glass with her feet and gracefully picking up the beautiful jewels. "Come to mama." The bat thief smiled as she held both of the brilliantly shining Emeralds in her hands.
The silver-eyed hedgehog noticed that a huge pack of robots began flooding into the generator room. "Welp. No better time to practice, right Penny?" She took a deep breath and thought about Ruby, not only that, but the other members of her team that she loved. She had to get back and protect them. Opening her eyes again, the extra member of Team RWBBY activated her silver eyes and that amazing silver glow filled the room with a bright silvery flash.
"Bléu?" Rouge saw this and covered her eyes. When the light faded… Nothing happened, Bléu was still there, the robots continued running at both of them.
"What?! Why didn't it work?!" She was out of breath and fell to her knees as the rays of silver light winded her.
Rouge however was still in prime condition and destroyed the group of robots that approached. Once she dismantled the robots, she flew back over to Bléu to check on her. "You okay, hon?"
"Yeah, thanks. I still don't know much about that silver light thing I did… but it looks like it's completely useless against robots." She stood up and finally caught her breath.
"You should head back to the hangars and get on the ship. You're a hedgehog, take one of the emeralds, it should help you."
"I guess I can try again." Rouge handed Bléu the red emerald, causing the hedgehog to sigh. She held it out and yelled, "Chaos Control!" Shaking her head as nothing happened. "I'll take it anyway. Wouldn't want them both to get taken back to Eggman if one of us gets caught, right?"
Rouge nodded and pocketed the blue Emerald, flying up into the air and heading to where Sonic was. Bléu checked her Aura tracking machine and went wide-eyed when she saw how much Aura she had left.
[Looks like your Aura comes back much faster now that I'm here with you!] Penny said cheerfully.
"Silver linings are nice… now I just wish that my silver eyes weren't useless back there…"
[It's possible that they only work on Grimm] Penny suggested, causing the hedgehog to grumble in response. She hated not knowing things.
Back with Sonic and Zavok, the fastest thing alive was getting put on the back foot. Through his weakened body from getting tortured for months, Sonic was losing against this fake Zeti. "Hrk… no…" he barely dodged a blast from the oversized Buzz Bomber, but Zavok was right next to him and slammed him into the ground.
"You lost, hedgehog. You're never going to see your precious planet ever again…" Zavok declared as he raised his hands to finish the blue hedgehog.
Sonic looked up at the ceiling and started to slowly blink as he began to succumb to his wounds. But then he saw Rouge come out of a vent with a shiny blue emerald in her hand. He looked back at Zavok and gave his trademark cocky smirk. He spun into a ball and broke free from The Zeti's grip, jumping off his head and caught the Chaos Emerald when Rouge the Bat threw it down. "Long time no see Rouge! You're a sight for sore eyes." He chuckled before gathering power from the mystical gem and got into a midair spin attack. He smashed his way through the giant Buzz Bomber and swiftly beat Zavok.
"N-no…" The illusion landed on the floor and struggled to move as Sonic peppered him with punches, kicks, and homing attacks. Both Sonic and Rouge landed in the scraps of the Buzz Bomber.
"Good to see you Big Blue, Little Bléu did a great job in saving you." Rouge smiled and flew off. "I'm sure you can get everyone to the hangar, we have a ship waiting!"
"Who?" Sonic was confused by the super spy's words. "Hmm…" Zavok's body glitched out and finally faded. "There's that sound again." Another explosion rumbled off in the distance. "Uh oh, it's not time for thinking, it's time for running!" He stood on the railing and shouted out. "Everyone stay put! I'll find a way out of here and come right back!" He shouted to his cell mates before springing into action.
Holding the Chaos Emerald in hand, he smiled as he felt his power returning to him. He jumped off of the pillar and ran out of the prison cell. With the extra strength of the Emerald, Sonic blazed through several obstacles that tried to take him down. Robots were torn to shreds as he boosted through them, lasers missed every shot as the hedgehog simply side-stepped out of the way. "I guess they found out that I escaped, oh well! Time to kiss this Yawnfest goodbye! No way am I sticking around here, there's nothing to run on!"
He jumped onto a rail and grinded through the facility, the grind rail led outside into space, he finally figured out where he was being held. "So they had me locked up on the Death Egg. This big ball of scrap just won't stay destroyed…" Sonic rolled his eyes as he jumped between rails to dodge some more lasers. Suddenly, a squadron of fighter jets flew by Sonic and were about to start firing at the hedgehog. He was faster though. Using a homing attack, he landed onto one of the ships. "Heh…" One of the oldest tricks in the book. The other ships began firing at the ship he was, and he jumped from ship to ship, letting them destroy themselves. He kicked the last one into a wall and it blew up.
Letting himself float downwards, he found himself right where he needed to be. "Cool!" He landed down and made a quick dash to the ship where he saw Charmy flying by. On his left, he saw… Another blue hedgehog? Did the younger version of himself come back to the future? He ran over the younger hedgehog and smiled. "Hey! It's been Generations since I saw you!"
The hedgehog from another dimension turned around to see Sonic the Hedgehog; she cocked her head before quickly getting surrounded. Frowning, she pulled out the Wispon and quickly destroyed them. "You!" She walked over and pointed straight at Sonic with an accusatory finger. "You look just like me!"
"Me? YOU look just like ME!" He pointed right back. The two blue hedgehogs stood there and got a better look at each other as they continued pointing at one another.
I love that Spider-Man meme. It applies so perfectly to this scene.
You know what's funny? I remembered the fact that Zavok just has the same powers as Bléu but better SECONDS before I wrote Eggman's mention of it. Now I want to have Bléu fight Zavok to see what would happen. I don't know if I'll have a chance for that since I kind of got things scheduled now. I guess only time will tell.
