It's 2025 - f*ck it. Elite Force Season 2. After rewatching the franchise, this is - in my semi-expert opinion - where I believe the showrunners were going with Elite Force following 'The Attack'. 1 Chapter is 1 episode, 20-minute sitcom style, just as the style of the show; written in screenplay format. Ep 20 is up now: Mr Davenport is stressed - and why is there a cat in the lab?

18. Episode 18: The Other Brother

ELITE FORCE: Season 2 Episode 18

"The Other Brother"

Bree and Chase are long overdue a visit from a certain superstrength bionic, and where Bree is excited about Adam's descent on the penthouse, Chase cannot think of anyone worse! Meanwhile, Roman and Riker come back for help now that they have their siblings back, but not for life-or-death... but childcare!

FADE IN.

SCENE ONE.
INT. PENTHOUSE - KITCHEN - DAY.
(CHASE and KAZ sit side by side at the table, a large stack of paperwork in front of them. BREE stands beside KAZ, leaning her arm on his shoulder as both boys sit with pens, taking it in turns to sign each sheet of paper).

KAZ
Ninety-six…

(KAZ turns the page and he signs it, followed by CHASE).

KAZ
Ninety-seven…

(CHASE grows more annoyed as KAZ turns the page and signs it).

CHASE
This would go a lot faster if you didn't have to count.

KAZ
(Sighs)
See, now you made me lose my place. We have to start again.

(KAZ picks up the previous stack of papers and makes to turn them all over. CHASE makes an incoherent noise of urgency and stops KAZ from doing so).

CHASE
(Desperate)
No! No. Ninety-seven. We're at ninety-seven.

KAZ
Okay, was that so hard? Sign there. (CHASE does so, and KAZ turns the page). Ninety-eight.

(CHASE slumps his head in his hands and groans).

KAZ
(With teasing upset)
Chase, you not supporting me is exactly why this marriage didn't work.

CHASE
(Deadpan)
That and the fact you tricked me into it. (CHASE quickly signs the last few pages). Ninety-nine. One hundred. (He slams the pen down). There. Done. Marriage officially annulled. He's all yours, Bree.

(CHASE stands and makes his way over to the kitchen sink to get himself a drink).

BREE
(Clapping)
Yay!

(BREE takes KAZ's hand and pulls him over to the couch).

BREE
So, how do you want to celebrate your divorce?

CHASE
(Calling from the kitchen)
Annulment! Not divorce.

KAZ
Once again, Bree, I'm very sorry for accidentally marrying your brother.

(BREE and KAZ sit next to each other on the couch, KAZ's arm around BREE as she leans into him).

BREE
No sweat - there's still room for a first wife, so that's all that matters.

KAZ
Yeah, but, technically… not the first Davenport.

BREE
(Unamused)
Do you want to ever kiss me again?

KAZ
(Sheepishly)
Yes please. Sorry.

BREE
(Smug)
Good, that's what I thought.

(BREE and KAZ kiss quickly and then settle into the couch, KAZ reaching for the remote to turn on the TV. CHASE then comes over from the kitchen).

CHASE
Yeah, about… (gestures to the two of them) this. I want to talk to you.

(CHASE sits down on the other end of the couch, his hands clasped as he leans a little forwards).

BREE
(Weirded out)
Okay… what's up?

CHASE
(Completely seriously)
I wanted to say that I am very happy for the two of you. (Pauses for effect) But with you two dating, Kaz, (emphasising every word) if you ever hurt my sister… I will destroy you.

(There is a pause as KAZ and BREE take this in, both staring at CHASE with neutral expressions. But after a second, BREE and KAZ burst out into uncontrollable laughter. BREE shakes with amusement, KAZ snorting, and BREE having to hide her face in KAZ's shoulder. CHASE's face falls).

CHASE
What? What's so funny?

(KAZ and BREE are still hysterically laughing).

KAZ
(Sarcastically)
Sure, buddy, okay.

CHASE
I'm serious!

BREE
(Wiping tears from her eyes)
Say it again, say it again.

CHASE
(Blinking and then stealing himself, attempting to be more threatening).
I said, that if you ever hurt my sister -

(BREE cuts him off by wheezing in hysterics, KAZ holding his head in his hands).

KAZ
(Sighing, calming down)
That was good - I needed that laugh. Thanks, Chase.

(CHASE opens his mouth to speak, but decides against it, standing).

CHASE
Oh whatever. Adam's flight gets in soon, I'll go pick him up from the airport.

(BREE and KAZ sit staring at him, eyes shining and lips pursed, as if they are both desperate to say something. CHASE sighs and gestures).

CHASE
Go ahead, get it out of your system.

(KAZ and BREE burst out laughing again as CHASE throws his hands up in exasperation, picking up his keys and his coat and exiting out the front door).

ROLL TITLES.

SCENE TWO.
INT. PENTHOUSE - LIVING ROOM - DAY.
(BREE is preparing lunch in the kitchen whilst KAZ sets the table and OLIVER and SKYLAR put finishing touches to the living room. The front door slides open and CHASE, looking exasperated and holding a suitcase, enters).

CHASE
(Sighs)
Ladies and gentlemen, presenting the man who has already thrown me three times since landing from a twelve hour flight, and absolutely smells the part, and has threatened to throw me again unless I give him a grand entrance… (he sighs again, tiredly gesturing with false enthusiasm). My brother.

(No one appears, and CHASE groans and calls into the hallway).

CHASE
(Hissing)
Adam, that's you.

ADAM (O/S)
Oh yeah!

(ADAM DAVENPORT appears in the doorway, forcefully ruffling CHASE's hair as CHASE bats his hand away. He is tall, with the same slicked back hair as always and is dressed casually in jeans and a t-shirt. He has a huge grin on his face and hasn't changed a bit).

ADAM
(Arms wide)
What's up, losers! Miss me?

(BREE shrieks, grinning).

BREE
ADAM! You're here!

(BREE runs at ADAM and ADAM hugs her so forcefully he lifts her off the ground. He pulls CHASE in with his other hand, grinning from ear to ear as CHASE is pulled into a fond headlock).

ADAM
This is nice, the OG team back together!

CHASE
(Deadpan, grimacing)
Mm-hmm. Delightful. My skin had become frighteningly bruise-free in your absence.

ADAM
Yeah, yeah.

(ADAM tosses CHASE forcefully aside and into the closed door, keeping BREE next to him with an arm over her shoulder as he looks across SKYLAR, OLIVER and KAZ).

ADAM
Hi, I'm Adam.

BREE
Adam, you know Skylar, Kaz and Oliver. You've met them a few times.

ADAM
(Smiley)
Ah, yeah! We did that play together in highschool.

SKYLAR
Uh, nope. Mighty Med?

ADAM
(Falsely understanding)
Ah, like the juice.

CHASE
That's Minute Maid. (Muttering under his breath, shaking his head) Principle of the Academy.

SKYLAR
Well it's nice to see you, Adam.

ADAM
You too!

OLIVER
So what brings you to town?

ADAM
Are you kidding? My sister gets a new boyfriend, then my brother marries the guy, then everyone nearly drowns? You're falling apart without me.

CHASE
That was an isolated incident of poor judgement.

KAZ
Aside from the boyfriend thing - I hope. (Nodding his greeting) What's up, dude?

ADAM
Kaz, hey! How are you? (He shakes KAZ's hand cheerily, patting him on his back) Just so you know if you ever hurt my sister, I'll destroy you. (Smiling) It's good to see you!

KAZ
(A little intimidated)
Uh… alright, dude. Yeah, I wasn't planning on it.

CHASE
(To himself)
Are you kidding me?

BREE
Don't mind Adam, he's a teddy bear. (She turns excitedly to ADAM) Come on! Let me show you Mission Command!

ADAM
Ooh, do you have a weapons room? I'm dying to blow something up. New place, so I gotta make it feel like home.

BREE
Kaz, you coming?

KAZ
Blowing stuff up? Don't have to ask me twice.

(KAZ, BREE and ADAM head excitedly off to the hyperlift and go down to Mission Command. ADAM's voice echoes to nothing as he goes down).

ADAM
(Trailing off)
Awesome!

(CHASE shakes his head, angrily moving towards the kitchen. He begins forcefully chopping a carrot).

CHASE
(Muttering)
Blowing stuff up. (Mockingly) "Uh, alright dude, I wasn't planning on it". Please, guy's been here twenty seconds.

(OLIVER and SKYLAR share an amused, yet concerned look).

SKYLAR
Chase, you good?

OLIVER
What's that carrot done to you?

CHASE
Oh, nothing. Just counting down the days since the carrot is back at the stupid island from whence it came.

SKYLAR
You haven't missed your brother?

CHASE
(Bitterly)
Oh, yes. Like a possum misses the car that flattens it on the highway. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be barricading myself in my capsule until he leaves.

(He takes the carrot raw without chopping it, and shoving it all in his mouth, taking a large bite. He slumps away angrily up the stairs, muttering, as OLIVER and SKYLAR share another, more concerned look).

SCENE THREE.
INT. MISSION COMMAND - DAY.
(BREE, ADAM and KAZ enter back into Mission Command from the tunnels. ADAM looks impressed, and BREE is beaming from ear to ear).

BREE
So? What do you think?

ADAM
I think I've got to ask Mr Davenport for an upgrade, you guys have everything.

BREE
Yeah, well, you live on a tropical island and I live with Chase. You've got the better deal.

KAZ
Do you have much tech at the academy?

BREE
Tech? Adam? Kaz, he's not allowed to use the oven without supervision, let alone military-grade weapons.

ADAM
Hey, it's not my fault! Ovens are complicated, why do I need them when I can heat things with my abilities?

KAZ
Dude, no way! I totally get that! Fire powers trump any household appliance.

ADAM
I thought the same about my laser vision! (He and KAZ fist bump). Bree, I knew you'd finally date someone with taste.

BREE
(Flicking her hair back)
Duh, I have amazing taste. I always have.

ADAM
(Giving her a skeptical look, counting on his fingers, not even hesitating)
Uh, Ethan the math dork, Owen the art nerd, Sebastian and Troy the evil villains -

BREE
(Quickly)
Okay, okay! (Muttering) Not cool, Adam.

KAZ
Evil villains? Should I be worried?

BREE
(Waving it off)
Eh, brief phase.

ADAM
Plus I swear you said you thought Roman and Riker were hot -

KAZ
(Shocked, laughing)
Bree?

BREE
Okay! I get it. Terrible choices, yada, yada. Come on, let's go get food to stop you from talking. (She bounces, excited) I'm going to show you all the best places in the city, I've got the whole day planned, it's going to be so great! (She squeals, hugging him again) I'm so happy you're here!

(BREE pulls ADAM towards the hyperlift, KAZ following closely behind, laughing fondly).

SCENE FOUR.
INT. PENTHOUSE - LIVING ROOM - DAY.
(SKYLAR is pouring herself a glass of water and takes a sip, immediately scrunching up her face).

SKYLAR
Ugh, room temperature? (But then her expression brightens, she has an idea, sweetly, calling) Oliver! Light-of-my-life! I need you.

(OLIVER comes running in from the terrace immediately).

OLIVER
Skylar, what's wrong? I'm… (he stops, sees her glass of water, and folds his arms, glaring). You want me to make ice for your drink, don't you?

SKYLAR
(Pouting)
Pretty please?

OLIVER
You're lucky I like you. (OLIVER takes the glass and flattens his hand over the top, dropping a few cubes of ice perfectly into the glass. He hands it back, sarcastically glaring). Milady.

SKYLAR
(Smugly)
You're the best. (She kisses his cheek).

OLIVER
(Grinning)
Okay, totally worth it.

(There is a sudden knock at the door, and SKYLAR and OLIVER look at each other, confused).

SKYLAR
Are we expecting anyone?

OLIVER
I honestly didn't realise we had any other friends.

(SKYLAR and OLIVER move to the door and open it. But as soon as the door swings open, the two people standing with sheepish grins in the doorway are none other than ROMAN and RIKER).

ROMAN & RIKER
(Pitchily, awkwardly)
Hey…

OLIVER
Roman, Riker! What are you doing here? I thought you went to get your siblings.

RIKER
(Overwhelmed)
Yeah… yeah, we totally did.

SKYLAR
Was there a problem? (She and OLIVER exchange a grave look). Come on in, I'll grab my gear.

ROMAN
No… no… actually, no need to come in. We got our little brothers and sisters, it's been a couple weeks, all is great.

(OLIVER and SKYLAR look at each other again, confused).

OLIVER
Then… what's the problem?

CUT TO:
SCENE FIVE.
INT. PENTHOUSE - LIVING ROOM - DAY.
(ROMAN and RIKER are standing, looking exhausted, next to OLIVER and SKYLAR. They all stare wide-eyed and overwhelmed at six children, who are sitting in a row on the couch. They are all between five and ten).

ROMAN
(His voice hushed)
They're very small but there's so many of them and they have a lot of superpowers.

RIKER
(Traumatised)
We're so tired.

SKYLAR
So you came to us for training?

ROMAN
(Hopefully)
We were hoping - maybe - since you said we were still friends and all, that you could - maybe - watch them for a few hours?

RIKER
Pretty please?

OLIVER
(Wide-eyed)
Babysitting? No. No, nope, definitely not. I don't do little kids.

ROMAN
Please! I love them, I do, but I need a nap, and Riker wants to see 'Wicked'.

RIKER
I really do.

SKYLAR
(Smiling)
Why not? How hard could it be?

OLIVER
What? (Hissing) Skylar!

SKYLAR
Come on, Oliver, we're superheroes. We can handle a few harmless kids for an afternoon. (To OLIVER, suggestively) Remember… I'm worth it?

(OLIVER catches SKYLAR's eye and is swayed by the insinuation).

OLIVER
(Sighing, turning to ROMAN and RIKER)
What are friends for, I guess.

ROMAN
(Gratefully)
Thanks, guys, we owe you one.

(OLIVER ushers them out the door).

OLIVER
You've still kidnapped, like, 4 out of 5 Davenports, you owe us several.

RIKER
Okay, so, Robin's allergic to peanuts, and Remy needs a nap in a couple of hours. And don't let Regan convince you she's Rosie, they like to trick people. (Calling over OLIVER to the kids) Be good! We'll be back in a couple of hours. (To ROMAN, urgently) Okay, go! Go!

(The door closes behind them, and SKYLAR and OLIVER turn around to face the kids in front of them).

SKYLAR
(Enthusiastically)
Okay, who wants to play hide-and-seek?

OLIVER
These kids are shapeshifters. You sure that's a good idea?

SKYLAR
(Equally enthusiastically)
Who wants to play sit-still-where-we-can-see-you? (Raising her hands) Yay!

SCENE SIX.
INT. MISSION COMMAND - DAY.
(CHASE sits tapping his fingers against the cyberdesk, looking agitated. All of a sudden, BREE, KAZ, and ADAM enter through the tunnels with smoothies, BREE and KAZ laughing at something ADAM has said).

BREE
Oh, hey Chase.

(CHASE jumps up).

CHASE
Where have you been? I thought you said you were in the inventory room.

KAZ
Oh, we were, but then we went out to give Adam the tour of the City.

CHASE
(Crestfallen)
You guys went without me? I thought we were going to do that together.

BREE
Sorry - you went up to your room, I thought you didn't want to come.

CHASE
You could have asked!

ADAM
You know me, do first, think later. Sorry, buddy. (He claps CHASE a little too hard on the shoulder. CHASE jumps).

CHASE
Right. (He looks at the group) So, you guys got smoothies?

KAZ
Yeah, turns out Adam and I even have the same order!

KAZ & ADAM
(Fist-bumping)
Hazelnut cream.

ADAM
I should have visited months ago, Kaz is awesome.

KAZ
Yeah, Adam's the best.

CHASE
(Very strained)
Oh! That's cool. Wonderful. Really great you're getting along. (He clears his throat, attempting to stand taller) But, you know, Kaz and I are friends too, we share a room.

ADAM
(To KAZ)
Oh, no way! I've shared a room with Chase too.

(KAZ and ADAM fist bump).

KAZ
Dude.

ADAM
Dude.

CHASE
(Exasperated)
Come on.

SCENE SEVEN
INT. PENTHOUSE - LIVING ROOM - DAY
(The living room has descended into messy chaos that can only be created by children. OLIVER is standing with a fire extinguisher and spraying a side-table as REGAN and ROSIE, aged eight, stand sheepishly beside him. SKYLAR is crouched in front of five-year-old REMY).

SKYLAR
Remy, please, for the eighth time, do not shapeshift your hands and feet into suction cups and climb the window.

REMY
But I was really good at it!

SKYLAR
That's not the point!

OLIVER
(To ROSIE and REGAN)
Where did you even get a boomerang?

(ROSIE and REGAN shrug. There is a playful battle cry as two more of them, RUFUS and ROBIN, chase each other violently past SKYLAR, knocking her flat on her feet).

SKYLAR
(Strained smile)
Okay, ow! (Standing up) Please don't use Aunt Skylar as a carpet!

(OLIVER rushes over to SKYLAR, pulling her aside).

OLIVER
(Hushed)
We're officially outnumbered, what do we do?

SKYLAR
(Traumatised)
Use protection.

(OLIVER snaps his head towards her).

OLIVER
Don't we already -

(SKYLAR holds a cushion up to shield herself from the kids).

SKYLAR
I mean armour, from them! They're shapeshifters, Oliver, and I'll be darned if we don't need our mission suits.

OLIVER
Oh come on, this was your idea! They're creepy, a little messy, but they're harmless. It's not like they're evil like Reece or River. Flying a boomerang hardly puts them on their Dad's path to Mighty Max.

(REMY appears between SKYLAR and OLIVER, making them jump out of their skin).

REMY
(Wide-eyed)
River's evil?

(SKYLAR and OLIVER exchange a glance as all of the siblings stop what they're doing to look at OLIVER and SKYLAR).

SKYLAR
(Scoffing)
No! We didn't say anything.

ROSIE
Yes, you did! You said Reece and River were evil. That's our brother and sister, but Roman and Riker said they were on vacation.

OLIVER
Uh… did I say "evil"? I meant, uh… "civil"! Because they're such good people.

REMY
No you didn't! You said we were evil just like Reece and River! And that our Daddy's in prison!

SKYLAR
You're five! What, do you have super-hearing?

REMY
(Nodding innocently)
Uh-huh.

OLIVER
Oh… okay, well to be technical, I said you weren't evil. She's the one who wants to suit up to fight you.

(SKYLAR whacks OLIVER on the arm. REMY gets suddenly upset).

REMY
I don't want to fight! I don't want to be evil! (Begins to cry) I want to go home.

ROSIE
Are Reece and River really evil?

REGAN
Are we gonna be just like them? I don't wanna!

RUFUS
Is it true our Dad's in prison?

(SKYLAR and OLIVER stand stunned, staring at the group of now crying children).

SKYLAR
Great job, you made them all cry.

OLIVER
Maybe one of them could shapeshift into a tissue?

(SKYLAR gives him a black look then sinks down to the kids' level, holding REMY's shoulders gently).

SKYLAR
It's okay… there's no need to cry. Roman and Riker will be back soon, and until then, let's just all stay calm. Okay? Just take deep breaths, everything's nice and calm, quiet, nothing bad is going to happen.

(All of a sudden, a Mission Alert sounds loudly, alerting from both SKYLAR and OLIVER's phones).

OLIVER
Skylar - mission alert!

SKYLAR
(Awkwardly laughing, remaining calm)
Okay, uh, that was poor timing on the "calm and quiet" thing.

REGAN
(Pointing at SKYLAR, red-faced)
You're liars!

SKYLAR
(Sweetly)
No, no -

(The hyperlift opens and CHASE, KAZ, BREE, and ADAM bolt through into the living room).

CHASE
Guys, let's go! Armed robbers at an art gallery downtown have… (he stops, taking it in, and they all see OLIVER and SKYLAR surrounded by six children).

KAZ
How long were we downstairs?

(SKYLAR gestures loosely).

SKYLAR
Roman and Riker's siblings. What were you saying, Chase? What's the mission?

CHASE
Armed robbers at an art gallery downtown have biotechnology in their weapons - the cops have called us in.

BREE
Come on, let's suit up!

ADAM
Aw, man, this is awesome! Do you got a spare suit or something? Though I'm fine in just my jeans, they are heavyweight denim so that's just as good as Davenport's suits, right?

CHASE
(Holding up a hand to stop ADAM).
You're not coming. You're not part of the team - the Elite Force is five, not six.

(SKYLAR and OLIVER share a look, SKYLAR sighs).

SKYLAR
Actually, I hate to say it, we need to sit this one out.

KAZ
Why? You love fighting bio-tech, it's like your bread and butter.

(SKYLAR gently settles REMY on the couch and she and OLIVER approach the team).

SKYLAR
I feel sorry for these kids - Roman and Riker trusted us, and I don't think we should leave them alone.

OLIVER
Yeah, especially not with the… (he looks at the kids, and spells the word for the benefit of the adults) A-R-C-T-U-R-I-O-N?

(ADAM and KAZ look confused).

ADAM
Wait, wait, too fast.

KAZ
Arcade? He spelt arcade, right?

ADAM
(Nodding confidently)
Think so, yeah.

CHASE
Alright, suit yourself - it's just a routine mission, Bree, Kaz and I can go.

BREE
Well… surely Adam can come, right? Better be 4 out of 5, than 3? Plus he's got superstrength too, and we know how powerful he is.

(A beat, as CHASE looks at ADAM, sees BREE's hopeful expression and sighs).

CHASE
Whatever. Only because Skylar and Oliver are stuck playing house.

KAZ
Awesome! (He high-fives ADAM) Dream-team!

(CHASE rolls his eyes, running upstairs to get his mission suit).

CHASE
Less girl-scout handshakes, more suiting up! Let's go!

MIDWAY BREAK.

SCENE EIGHT.
INT. ART GALLERY - DAY.
(Golden-framed paintings line the wall of the Centium City Art Gallery. Three men armed with weapons and dressed in black are pulling frames off walls into sacks, when KAZ, CHASE, BREE, and ADAM run in, hands in fists, determined and ready to fight).

BREE
Hey, jerks!

(ROBBER ONE points a sleek, futuristic pistol at BREE, it charges with electrical energy).

ROBBER ONE
Stay back! The cops were smart enough to be scared of our weapons, unless you have a death wish.

CHASE
Yeah, well, you haven't met the Elite Force.

ADAM
(Steps cheerily forward, extending a hand to shake)
With special guest star: Adam Davenport. Nice to meet you.

BREE
Adam!

ADAM
What? I'm a guest, I don't want to be rude.

ROBBER ONE
Well, since we're extending the courtesy, I hate to have to be rude myself… but you're in our way.

KAZ
Get down!

(Chaos erupts. The pistol fires golden energy at the team and they disperse. BREE superspeeds to the second robber, engaging him in one-on-one combat as CHASE does a sideways flip to dodge another shot. KAZ shoots a fireball at the third robber, knocking him down).

CHASE
Their weapon is firing pure protonic energy, it could paralyse any one of us!

ADAM
On it!

(ADAM uses his laser vision to try and knock it out of the first robber's hands, but it misses, hitting a frame).

CHASE
Adam, Kaz, be careful when using your heat powers. This is priceless art and we don't want it charred.

KAZ
(Half-listening)
Sorry! Bree -

(BREE sees what KAZ needs without him having to finish his sentence. KAZ tosses her a rope from the bag).

BREE
On it!

(BREE breaks away from her fight with the second robber, to superspeed around the second and third robbers, using the rope to tie them together on the ground. BREE and KAZ reunite, high-fiving).

ROBBER ONE
(Out of breath, angrily)
You're really getting on my nerves.

CHASE
Oh yeah? The feeling's mutual.

(CHASE spins a forcefield into his hands just as the robber fires another blast of protonic energy, the golden blast and the electric blue collide into each other in the centre of the room, CHASE pushing back the energy with all his might. CHASE almost has it, when ADAM appears beside the robber).

ADAM
Hey, dude?

(ADAM punches the robber with a swift blow to the head, and the robber crumples unconscious. ADAM grins at his actions, and ducks as the force of CHASE's forcefield and the protonic energy blast fires straight past him and collides straight with a painting on the wall, charring a huge hole in the middle of the canvas).

CHASE
(Gasping, furious)
Adam! What did you do?

ADAM
(Grinning)
Saved the day, duh! (Pointing at the hole in the painting) You should be careful though - that's priceless art, we don't want it charred.

(CHASE's eye twitches as BREE looks between her brothers, attempting to keep the peace).

BREE
Woohoo! Go team!

SCENE NINE.
INT. MISSION COMMAND - DAY.
(CHASE, KAZ, BREE and ADAM come back through the tunnels, the stone door sliding shut behind them. CHASE furiously dumps the mission bag on the ground and walks to the cyberdesk).

CHASE
Five hundred thousand dollars that just cost us!

ADAM
Well, I did tell you not to char it. It's not my fault you're so tiny that the information went clean over your head. (ADAM makes a gesturing motion of the tons of space above CHASE's head).

BREE
(Placatingly)
It's not the end of the world, we'll pay it off. Insurance will cover it, there's no need to be upset.

CHASE
(Furious)
I'm "upset" because he totally snaked me!

ADAM
Chill, dude, I was just doing my job.

CHASE
No, you weren't! You were doing my job! I am part of the Elite Force, not you! You're just some visiting chump who runs a school with no students left in it.

ADAM
(Scoffing, ignoring her)
A chump who still saved your butt.

CHASE
Only because you stole my save!

ADAM
(Mockingly repeating)
"You stole my save!"

CHASE
Oh really? Real mature.

ADAM
Yeah? This mature?

(ADAM shoves CHASE backwards).

CHASE
Not as mature as this.

(CHASE uses his molecular kinesis to make ADAM slap himself. ADAM gasps at the audacity).

ADAM
Oh, it's on, dwarf!

(ADAM and CHASE fly at each other, slapping each other and wrestling like children).

CHASE
You're the dwarf, dwarf!

ADAM
Take it back!

CHASE
You take it back!

KAZ
(To BREE)
Are you going to stop this?

BREE
(Resigned)
It's better to let them tire themselves out.

(CHASE is now on ADAM's back, sprawled out as his arms lock around his brother's neck and ADAM shakes him off. CHASE flails whilst ADAM punches).

BREE
This is only like a level three fight anyway. (Yawning) I'll intervene when it gets to a seven or higher.

(CHASE flies past BREE and KAZ, tossed through the air and colliding with one of the stone walls. He crumples to the ground).

BREE
Or that happens.

(CHASE scrambles to his feet, breathless, as ADAM, proud of himself, grins).

BREE
Alright, can we put the testosterone away, are you two done now?

ADAM
Obviously - you know it always ends with Bionic Brother Toss.

CHASE
(Red with rage)
No! I'm so sick of this! You come out of nowhere, Adam, and you try to just steal everything from me! You don't even call in months, and you just barge in here -

ADAM
What are you talking about? I call!

BREE
Yeah, Adam and I call every Thursday.

(CHASE blinks, hurt, looking between his siblings).

CHASE
Of course you do. Why wouldn't you? You're Bree's favourite brother, everyone on the team loves you, you're Kaz's "best friend" - you three are great, seriously, just be a happy little family without me. I don't even care anymore.

(CHASE turns around and storms into the hyperlift. When he disappears up in a flash, BREE, KAZ and ADAM look at each other; BREE steps forwards).

BREE
I'll go talk to him.

ADAM
(A hand on BREE's shoulder)
It's alright, I got it.

SCENE TEN.
INT. PENTHOUSE - LIVING ROOM - DAY.
(SKYLAR and OLIVER are standing in front of the couch, where REGAN, ROSIE, RUFUS, REN, ROBIN, and little REMY are sitting in a line, looking upwards).

REMY
So… River and Raven went on vacation…

ROSIE
To visit Reece and Daddy, who are… on a farm upstate?

SKYLAR & OLIVER
(Stressed and wide-eyed)
Mm-hmm!

OLIVER
That's exactly right and entirely what we said.

SKYLAR
And everyone's okay, and no one is evil. Any questions?

REGAN
But what about -

SKYLAR
Oops! Question time is over! You just missed your chance. (She grins enthusiastically to get excitement from the kids) Who wants a snack?

(All the kids nod).

REMY
Do you have peanut butter?

SKYLAR
Uncle Oliver will go get some.

OLIVER
(Sighing)
Seriously? It's about to rain.

SKYLAR
(Through gritted teeth)
Then fly quickly.

OLIVER
(Rolling his eyes and getting his coat)
Yes, dear.

SKYLAR
Don't call me that, it makes me sound old. And hurry back before these kids unleash round two of shapeshifter disasters on me!

OLIVER
Yes, d- (SKYLAR gives him a black look).

REMY
(Sweetly)
It's okay, we can't be shapeshifters any more today.

(OLIVER and SKYLAR exchange a puzzled look).

OLIVER
What do you mean? You breathe fire instead or something?

REMY
Nuh-uh. We just can't do it until tomorrow.

SKYLAR
Roman and Riker put some kind of cap on you? Smart. (To OLIVER) Can we do that with Kaz?

ROSIE
No, we're still too little. Our powers get too tired after twenty minutes and then we can't do it until after we've had a nap.

SKYLAR
Twenty minutes? Seriously? That doesn't sound right. When I was a kid I couldn't stop using my powers.

REGAN
Daddy and River never let us use the powers, so now we can't do it for long anymore.

SKYLAR
But why -

OLIVER
(To SKYLAR, discreetly)
Don't question it, just be grateful they can't turn themselves into swarms.

SKYLAR
(Rolling her eyes, gesturing to the door)
Oh, just go get the peanut butter.

OLIVER
Yes, dear.

(SKYLAR glares at OLIVER).

SCENE ELEVEN.
INT. MISSION COMMAND - DAY.
(CHASE is stood by a cyberdesk, typing mission reports into the filing system, swiping through data, when the hyperlift opens and ADAM enters, clearly looking for CHASE. He sees him and sighs relief).

ADAM
There you are! I've been looking all over the penthouse for you.

CHASE
(Without looking up)
Yeah? What room did you pick to move into?

ADAM
Chase, come on, it's not like that. (Pauses, thinks) Though, you know, if I had to choose, Davenport's room has a pool, so… (CHASE glares at ADAM). I'm joking.

CHASE
You're always joking.

ADAM
Yeah, it's part of my charm, huh?

(Silence. ADAM pulls up a stool and sits expectantly at the cyberdesk).

ADAM
So, come on, dork. Talk to me and stuff.

CHASE
Tempting, but no.

ADAM
Chase, seriously. Why do you think I came all this way?

CHASE
To see Bree, to meet Kaz, to check out which one of my new tools you wanted to break?

ADAM
Well, yeah, obviously, but I did all that already.

CHASE
(Sitting upright, snapping his head to ADAM)
Which one did you break?

ADAM
Aha! Got your attention. (CHASE rolls his eyes and goes back to typing, so ADAM stands up and grabs his wrist to stop him). Chase, I'm here because I missed you.

CHASE
(Skeptical)
Really? You missed punching me?

ADAM
More than that. You never called me either, you know. (A pause) Look, Chase, if you… (he sighs, looks away) I made you miserable when we were kids, I know that. So, if you… hate me now, then I understand.

CHASE
I don't hate you.

ADAM
Then what's up with you being so miserable?

CHASE
I'm just… (he sighs) I'm a little jealous, okay?

ADAM
Of me? You, super-genius, are jealous of Monkey-Brain Davenport?

CHASE
You've always been better than me, Adam. You've been better at people than me, better at being a brother than me. (He pauses, thinking, as ADAM sits, surprised, watching CHASE as he begins pacing a little). For a long time, all I had was science, you and Bree were hustle and muscle, and I was… flash glue. And then Leo happened and we were pretty similar -

ADAM
Nerds, you mean.

CHASE
Yeah, nerds. But Leo gets along with everyone! So I just thought that when you two stayed at the academy, and Bree and I came here, I could try and be better, a better friend to the team, a better brother to her, but just when I think I'm kind of okay, you swoop in and just… I don't know, you're just better. Effortlessly. I mean, Kaz likes you more, Skylar and Oliver like you more, Bree probably likes you more, and I just -

BREE (O/S)
That is not true.

(CHASE and ADAM turn to the hyperlift, where BREE steps out, arms folded).

BREE
I don't like either of you more than the other.

(CHASE looks down, embarrassed).

CHASE
Forget it. It just makes me a little insecure, that's all.

(ADAM and BREE look at each other, before ADAM steps forward, and envelops CHASE in a huge bear hug that lifts him off the floor. CHASE looks completely perplexed, even a little concerned).

CHASE
What… is happening?

ADAM
It's called a hug, don't make it weird.

CHASE
Okay, well, I need oxygen to breathe.

ADAM
(Tightening his grip)
What's oxygen?

(CHASE quietens, his head lolling).

BREE
Air, Adam! Drop him!

(ADAM lets CHASE go and he stumbles, righting himself).

ADAM
(Sheepishly)
Sorry.

CHASE
See, this is why we don't hug. (A pause, CHASE smiles at ADAM) But, thanks.

BREE
And, just for the record, the others don't like Adam more either, he's just shiny and new. You're their friend, Chase, their team-mate.

CHASE
Then why did Kaz laugh earlier?

BREE
(Chuckling fondly)
Because it's not like you to be all protective and macho and weird. It's exactly something Adam would say, that's why it made us laugh. (She pauses) I am sorry if that upset you, but we don't need you to be Adam, we need you to be you. Kaz's friend, and my brother. Okay?

ADAM
Yeah, and the only reason I haven't actually pinned Kaz against a wall yet is because I know you're here to keep an eye on Bree and stop her from making any terrible decisions.

BREE
(Glaringly)
I do not make terrible decisions.

CHASE
(Deadpan)
You do, consistently.

ADAM
See? Chase says it, it must be true.

BREE
(Rolling her eyes)
Okay, Leo is my favourite brother.

(CHASE and ADAM catch each other's eye, laughing at BREE's expense).

ADAM
But to be clear, I like Kaz. I think he's good for you.

CHASE
(Nodding)
Yeah. I mean, you know, if you have to date someone on the team - which is still gross - he's cool.

BREE
(Smiling)
There we go, you two finally agree on something.

(BREE crosses the room, and stands between CHASE and ADAM, an arm around each of her brothers and pulling them in for a group hug).

BREE
And, for the record, Kaz knows who I have in my corner. He is well aware that if he ever wronged me in any way, shape or form, Adam would toss him clean off a bridge, and Chase would hack his phone in thirty seconds.

ADAM
Darn right I would.

CHASE
(Mumbling)
I could do it in fifteen.

(A long pause, as ADAM, BREE, and CHASE, for the first time in a long time, stand together in a circle, enveloping each other in a group hug).

ADAM
I've missed this.

CHASE
Us or the basement lab?

ADAM
A guy can miss two things.

BREE
Whatever happens, I promise… we're always going to have this. The three of us.

(ADAM, BREE and CHASE stay in the moment a little longer, smiling when they catch each other's eye, and neither wanting to break from the hug any time soon).

SCENE TWELVE.
INT. PENTHOUSE - LIVING ROOM - EVENING.
(BREE and CHASE are playing chess at the dining table, with ADAM standing between them, attempting to move pieces at random times, earning him a slap on the hand from CHASE every time he tries. KAZ is watching the game, leaning his arms fondly on BREE's shoulders. SKYLAR and OLIVER are standing in the living room, with ROMAN and RIKER having now returned, looking well rested, as the six kids stand with backpacks by the door).

ROMAN
Thank you, guys. You would not believe the nap I just had.

OLIVER
Oh, I can guess. I'm ready for my eight hours and I only had them for an afternoon.

RIKER
Maybe we can make this a regular thing.

SKYLAR
(A little traumatised)
Oh, I don't know…

RIKER
(To the kids)
Did you have fun with Skylar and Oliver?

REMY
Yeah!

ROSIE
We used all the powers up though.

(CHASE, ADAM, BREE and KAZ hear this, CHASE standing up).

CHASE
What does that mean?

(ROMAN scratches the back of his neck sheepishly).

ROMAN
Oh, uh… they're a little out of practice.

RIKER
With all six of them, we don't have a lot of space, and we're struggling to train them.

ROMAN
Their powers are a little weak.

ADAM
(Confidently)
Well, I can fix that.

(A beat, everyone looks at ADAM).

OLIVER
How?

ADAM
Since all the students at the academy graduated, my job is basically just keeping on top of the different teams. I know you're not bionic, but it can't be that different, right? And if it is that hard then… (he shrugs) Not to brag, but I bounce.

BREE
Are you saying what I think you're saying?

ADAM
Why not? Davenport knows you guys, right? There's tons of room in the dorms.

(CHASE crosses his arms and looks at ADAM, impressed, then turns to ROMAN and RIKER).

CHASE
Well… you did say you wanted them to be heroes.

ROMAN
(Confused)
Dorms? Academy? What are you talking about?

RIKER
Yeah, who are you again?

(ADAM extends a hand to shake, which is finally taken for the first time that day, by ROMAN and then RIKER).

ADAM
(Smirking)
Adam Davenport, nice to meet you.

SCENE THIRTEEN.
EXT. PENTHOUSE - TERRACE - NIGHT.
(ADAM stands in his Academy Mentor white uniform, a wormhole transporter device in his hand. He stands in front of a line of people: ROMAN and RIKER, in black-and-red Academy Student expert uniforms, and REGAN, ROSIE, RUFUS, ROBIN, REN and finally little REMY in black-and-yellow Academy Student beginners' uniforms. CHASE, BREE, KAZ, OLIVER and SKYLAR stand on the side-lines, BREE and CHASE exchanging a proud look as they watch their brother).

ADAM
Alright, now you look the part, let's fire up the wormhole transporter, so I can officially welcome the newest collection of students to the Davenport Bionic and Superpower Academy.

BREE
Wow, Adam, I'm impressed.

ADAM
When we get there, after the tour, we'll have our first lesson.

ROMAN
If it's "How to take down a super villain", we mostly have that covered.

ADAM
(Proudly)
It is not.

OLIVER
Breaking Stuff 101?

SKYLAR
How To Build A Sandwich?

BREE
I bet you ten bucks it's "Hair Care For Dummies".

CHASE
(Smiling)
Guys, come on, let Principal Davenport do his thing. Have a little faith.

ADAM
Thank you, Chase. No, lesson one is the most important one of all… (He pauses, smirks, and exhales). "Bionic Brother Toss".

(CHASE pales).

CHASE
Oh, dear god. I take it back.

BREE
I'd run if I were you.

(CHASE bolts back through the terrace doors, as fast as his legs can carry him. ADAM waves the wormhole transporter).

ADAM
(Grinning, calling after him)
You gave me a wormhole transporter, Chasey, you can run but you can't hide!

(ADAM follows CHASE, and we hear the distance brotherly screams from inside as BREE rolls her eyes, and she, KAZ, SKYLAR and OLIVER exchange amused glances. ROMAN and RIKER, however, look each other's way with pride, their younger siblings between them. They know they're in for a new adventure… and they know they're safe and sound).
