Mo Ran opens the door. Closing his eyes as he's blinded. His talisman goes out as he slowly takes a step forward, his steps crunching the dirt underneath his feet. After adjusting to the light he blinks. Taking a look around. He finally made it out side.
The other three stumble out behind him. They are out the inn, going out the back. Not far to the left is a stable. In the same direction as the mountains. The mountains where the bodies were found.
"What's the plan now?" Xue Meng asks. "How are you going to find Shizun?" his cousin asks, more like whines.
"Track them." Mo Ran answers absentmindedly, more focused on thinking. So the man watches, drugs, then kidnaps them. Leaving through the secret package, it's why no one heard or saw. Especially doing it at such an odd time. Bringing him here where there's a stable just outside. It's almost perfect. But what's on the mountain? Why the mountain? The hidden passage seems to lead everywhere, the man could have taken those women out from anywhere and no one would be any wiser.
"How are you going to track them?" Xue Meng wonders. They are cultivators not hunters. They don't track people down.
"Why... was... when was..." Chang Fang looks around, unbelieving. Mo Ran raises an eyebrow at the man's reaction to the passage.
"You're the owner... you didn't know about those passages?" Mo Ran wonders. Chang Fang looks at Mo Ran. He shakes his head wildly.
"N-no." He says, not wanting to be accused of anything. "My grandfather won the inn in a bet after getting married to my grandmother. They've been running the inn since. My father then took over. Then handed it to me. I... never knew." he says. His mind looks broken.
"Mo Ran focus! Shizun! How will you find him?" Xue Meng shouts, eyes on him now.
Mo Ran looks at his cousin in the eye. Raising his arm. On his wrist is a thin wooden bracelet. Xue Meng eyes the bracelet then looks over into his cousins eyes. He can not be serious. A flimsy piece of jewelry is going to save their teacher?
Mo Ran, seeing the doubt activates the bracelet, turning around to start running. Xue Meng immediately runs after. Shi Mei of course trying to catch up. They wouldn't sit around doing nothing while their teacher is in danger. Mo Ran is also worried but he would rather hurry and focus before something happens to his lover, than worry and break down while something happens to him.
Of course he chooses to focus. His wife's safety is on the line.
Wanning frowns as he groans. He feels worse than the last time he woke up. Everything hurts but nothing compares to the pain in his head.
Wanning cries out when the back of his head hits something hard. Wanning rubs the sore spot. Looking around. He's in a box. Wanning slides, then bumps and shakes. He's moving. On a very bumpy uneven road. He turns around, looking around the box he's in. There's a couple slits that lets the air in. There's light coming in so it's daylight. He remembers, vaguely, he was taken during the night. He reaches up to take a look at his wrist. The wooden bracelet on his thin wrist.
It's still there. Lucky for him. As long as he is alive Mo Ran can track him down. The question is how far will they go? And how far is Mo Ran?
Wanning stumbles to the side, slamming his shoulder into what Wanning can assume is the door. With the way he is now he wont be able to fight back. His head is spinning so he may not be able to stand up. Or fight. At the moment he wont be able do much. Everything is a blur especially last night. How much did he have to drink last night? He doesn't know how much he'll do in the light, the darkness is helping his headache.
Wanning doesn't know if he should be angry or shocked. Angry about this man skills in leading the carriage. Or shocked that it's another human. Wanning is wondering if he's another canibal. His head hurts to much to think clearly. The shaking and bumping is not helping. If anything it's making it worse. The box is also dark so it's hard to see anything and it's a bit warm.
All of a sudden he jerks forward smacking face first into the opposite wall of the door. Wanning lets out a groan. That was very unexpected and did not help the pain in his head. Wanning hears talking coming from the door. Mo Ran must have found him. It was good he spent his time carving the bracelets with a tracking charm of sorts. Mo Ran was very worried about Wanning being bait once again so they compromised. He's glad to know it works. He didn't have time to test it properly.
The door burst open, Wanning turns away from the sudden light. Now realizing the carriage has stopped moving. He couldn't tell with the way his head span around. After his eyes adjust to the light he looks back to see violet eyes staring him. He wants to give the man a smile, instead he lets out a groan.
"Wanning." Mo Ran says getting closer to check on his lover. Wanning doesn't look so good. Especially since they put a random robe on him, they must be Mo Ran because it doesn't fit. There is nothing modest about how his teacher looks now. His hair is messy, a large long strand has fallen in front of his face. The robe can not close all the way Mo Ran can see a peek of the curve of breast. The robe also seems to be falling off the shoulder. Showing off milk like skin. At the moment each inch of that skin is covered by purple bruise, dark hickey and bite marks. Some of which Mo Ran can see on Wanning breast. Wanning is such a beautiful mess.
Mo Ran would love to devour him so much but he knows he can't. Not with his cousin and Shi Mei right behind him.
But he also can't bring Wanning out looking like that. They will be asking so many question. The two will have to give answers they don't want to.
Mo Ran takes off his outer robe, wrapping it around Wanning. Covering the man. Carefully he helps the other out. "Are you okay shizun?" Mo Ran asks. Wanning doesn't answer but the pinch of his eyebrow is sign enough he doesn't feel well.
Shi Mei steps up to help Wanning down from the carriage. Mo Ran realizing their teacher has no shoes on. Or even slippers. "Don't worry shizun, we got the man." Xue Meng tells the man proudly. Though Wanning doesn't look to be listening, or paying attention. His skin in the light does look deathly pale.
"Shizun-?" Mo Ran starts but Wanning pushes them away. Stumbling forward.
