30- New Beginnings…. chapter thirty

Richard, Walter, Lynn and Gene had returned to the conference room to relax while having coffee.

"Well, Walter, Lynn, looks like the Arizona problem is solved, ready to return home? Have two jets here, I am going to stick around another couple days so you can hop one and have a nice flight back to LA," Richard said. "You can leave tonight, tomorrow, whenever you want. Remember, Lynn, you have the day off before heading back to work. The Wednesday run to data center will be back on schedule next Wednesday- in the mean time you can see what has become of the garage- walls knocked down, hopefully not going home to a pile of rubble."

"What you think, Lynn, head back to LA tonight or tomorrow?"

"To be honest, while it has been fun here, I'd like to get back home."

Gene got up, "I'll give you a ride to collect you stuff in the rooms while Richard notifies the pilot to start preflight checks."

Gene, Walter, and Lynn got up to head out to the cart, Richard rose, "Walter, Lynn, thanks a bunch, the jet should be ready shortly after you get boarded. See you at work Lynn. Safe flight."

Boarding the plane to return to LA, the pilot announced take-off would be in fifteen minutes, sky was clear all the way to the coast.

Walter stashed their bags and his laptop in a storage closet then got a bottle of water from the little fridge. "Want something to drink?"

"Wow, this is quite the exciting life, jetting all around, taking care of corporate problems like a super hero or special agent." Lynn chuckled, "in case you don't remember, you asking me if I wanted something to drink kinda' got things started going TO Arizona. Oohh, taxi out and take off!"

"Altitude and cruising, now," Walter said.

"Can I sit on your lap again, old man?"

"You going to lead me astray again, young lady?" Walter asked. "Tell me, did you really want to get home or just want to get this old man to yourself to take advantage me? I told you, I may be old, but certainly not dead. By the time we get back to LA, you may have a difficult time getting any sleep tonight."

Sitting on Walter's lap, "will it be your place or mine we go to when we land? Think my place would be best, yours may be a pile of rubble."

"I wish people would quit saying that," Walter said before capturing her mouth in a searing passionate kiss to start the flight to LA.

The pilot announced, "We will be landing at LAX in ten minutes."

Lynn stood up, "think it will take ten minutes to get my heart rate down to normal. Gods, what you do to me, Walter."

"Think you need to get your hair brush out again, we both need a bit of grooming before getting into public," Walter mumbled standing up, taking a deep breath to get himself under control. "As soon as we touch down, call an Uber, hopefully one who speeds. Come sit, coming in to land."

The not overly fast Uber driver dropped them off at Lynn's townhouse. She unlocked the door and Walter deposited all the bags on the sofa in the living room, turned to Lynn and captured her mouth again in a long and passionate kiss while Lynn unbuttoned Walter's shirt to pull it off his shoulders. He reached under her shirt to unclasp her bra and helped her raise her shirt over her head to again capture her mouth while slowly making their way to the guest room dropping clothes as they went. One of Walter's shoes then the other, farther through the living room there was Lynn's left shoe then the right, socks of both followed. At the guest room doorway, Walter's jeans and boxers were dropped on the floor while closer to the bed Lynn's jeans and panties followed. In a tangle of arms and legs they fell into bed. Lynn laid back while Walter stretched to turn on the bedside lamp and before he could lay next to her, she wrapped her legs around his hips keeping him above her.

"Lynn, don't"

"Walter, the light is on, all I see is you, I want you, I want to see you, I want to watch you like you watch me, give me what I want, all of you every way possible. Make love to me as you would anyone." She tightened her legs around his hips and he captured her mouth in an all-consuming passionate kiss, then her breast as he plunged into her as deep as possible gasping as her warmth surrounded him. Straightening his arms he pushed in deeper then, looking in her eyes he set a slow pace. Reaching down he opened her more so his every stroke brought her closer. He saw her widened eyes and her rapid breathing and stroked faster his eyes half closed with the overwhelming feel of her. He felt her gasp in climax, pulsing around him and lost himself in her as he followed her, body rigid with the force of it to follow with muscle relaxing satisfaction. He lay next to her and gathered her into his arms to kiss her shoulder. Reaching over, he pulled the blanket over them and both curled into each other in complete satisfaction and warmth. She kissed him and whispered, "thank you, Walter, I know what love is."

Lynn woke still wrapped in Walter's arms. She ran her fingers through his hair pushing the tangled curls off his face. She smiled looking at him thinking for an old man he appeared quite young in sleep, gods, I never had any idea I could feel so much for a person, I just look at him and can burst with emotion. She gently brushed his lips with hers to hear him sigh and reflexively tighten his arm around her. "Ah Walter," she whispered, "what you have done to me is a miracle and I love you for it."

A few hours passed, Walter awoke to see Lynn looking at him, "I am starting to believe you may be right that I am a foundling from another world, after all- don't think a human male could survive many encounters with a young lady like you."

Lynn smiled, "a human male could not do what you have done to me. Tell me, Walter. If I asked you to give me something, would you?"

Walter cocked his head, brought his hand up to push an errant lock of her blonde hair behind her ear and lean in to give her a kiss, "anything within my power to give you I gladly would, just ask."

"It is well within your power and would make me very happy."

"So, what is it I have you want?" he asked with a smile. "I could scramble a couple eggs and fix you breakfast in bed…. coffee? I may have another round of passionate love making in me, but may need hours of laying around with you to recover afterwards being old…. but I will try."

"Will you give me a baby?"

Walter opened his mouth, then closed it. Stared at her then again, "Ahhhh….. what?"

"Baby, Walter. You know, a small human product between two people…. can a visitor from Arcturus mate with an Earthling and produce an exceptional off-spring…. third eye and all?"

Walter continued to stare at her. "Ahhhh…"

Lynn laughed, giving him a kiss, "do I have to put it into mathematical form? One, you, plus one, me, equals three. See how that works? You understand chaos theory, Tensor calculus, quantum physics, so surely you can understand how very happy I would be to have a Walter baby."

"Ahhhhh…"

Lynn sat up and straddled his hips, putting her hand on his chest to lean down to kiss him then sat up straight to look down at him. "I am twenty-four, fully own my place, have no debt, have a good paying job with an excellent medical plan, found a man I love and want his baby…. what is so hard to understand about that? It is a natural biological progression."

Walter put his hands on her hips, "hold still, Lynn, hold still, let me get my bearings. You just dropped a nuke into my thought processes and I have to unscramble things."

Lynn chuckled, "wow, Walter O'Brien's thought processes are scrambled? How scrambled up can they get, I wonder," she mused taking his hand off her hip to put on her breast then started gently rocking her hips to lean down by his ear, "Walllllllterrrrrr can you explain Tensor calculus to me? You talking higher mathematics is so veeeeeery stimulating." She could feel him being stimulated so rose up and took him in. "tell me Walter, what are you thinking right now? Maybe a little chaos theory math, hmmmmmm maybe a theoretical equation or aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah oh my ahhhhhypothetical logi.. logi…. logical premise? GODS!" She yelled as she climaxed and Walter sat up to wrap his arms around her, one hand behind her head to hold her in place as he crushed his mouth to hers as he too climaxed. They stayed like that for a moment then he laid back keeping her crushed to his chest as their heart rates and breathing slowly returned to normal.

Walter laid there, eyes closed, in time to become totally relaxed. He opened his eyes to look at Lynn who had moved to lay next to him. "You know, you are looking a bit disheveled, young lady…. very becoming, actually. Flushed, bit of a sheen to your skin, hair completely mussed up, eyes dilated, gods, you are beautiful." He cocked his head with a bit of a frown, "you said something about finding a man you love…. who might that be?"

Lynn laughed, "I thought you were a genius, Walter O'Brien, who might you THINK?

He laid there thinking, "maybe Gene, that tall ginger in Arizona? I do believe he was watching you pretty close a few times."

"As if I would even LOOK at a ginger when you are around. I much prefer a tall, dark, handsome visitor from Arcturus."

"So when did you come to be in love?"

"Remember when you left the garage- disappeared, walked out for six days? That put me in such an emotional rollercoaster- I was lost without you. I knew, but did not know how to navigate the rough waters to get to you. I fully understand the feeling may not be mutual, but in this day and age a single woman with a child is not an abnormality." She looked down, then up to his eyes, "I never wanted anything more than you but to have your baby."

Walter chuckled and shook his head looking at her. She raised her eyebrows, "did I say something you found humorous?"

"As a matter of fact, yes. That you would even think the feeling was not mutual after all this time together amazes me. I had mumbled about asking you to marry me at the garage one night….. but you had fallen asleep. I thought of it a second time, waking up next to you and that I would like that for the rest of my life, but the events of the day intruded. That you would even think I would father a child and not be involved in its upbringing- what kind of man do you think I am? I told you more than once, I want to be with you. I told you I was not adept at the personal interaction- that was very true. I also told you I like being with you, I like listening to you, you expand my horizons." He looked up into her eyes, "Will you marry me? Then WE can have a baby and WE can raise it to be a totally undamaged person so better than its parents."

"Are you serious?"

"Gods, you think I do not take marriage, having a child….. possibly two….. seriously? So what is your answer? Will you marry me, old man that I am? I also own my home free and clear, have no debts, excellent business prospects, a fairly well filled bank account, and love you more than life itself."

"Yes," Lynn said and kissed him. "Yes, yes… YES!"

"Then come, snuggle with me and rest a while- you wore me out then later we can go have dinner and see if I really do have a home or just a pile of rubble then research and find out what all is entailed in getting married. He put his arms out and she laid against his chest, he covered them up, kissed her temple and closed his eyes. "Yes," Walter said quietly, "more than life itself."

They ended up sleeping through the night. Waking in the morning they showered- so much for saving water- dried each other, combed each others hair and got dressed in jeans and t-shirts to hop in the convertible to go see the condition the garage was in. Getting to the garage, the two bay doors as well as the front door were wide open. Walking in, Dave was sitting drinking coffee on the common area sofa, feet on the coffee table while reading on his tablet. "Good morning, Walter. Place looks a bit different, huh?"

Walking through the now open portals between the bays, Walter was a bit taken with the amount of room he actually had with the place. Was one thing to contemplate the size, another to actually walk around in all the now open space. Seeing the small class A RV parked in the second bay it appeared Dave had stayed in residence the whole time Walter was gone. "How you like staying here, Dave?" Walter called.

"Is surprisingly nice and quiet. At least once the structural guys got done- very noisy and dusty sawing through walls- they sure cleaned up the mess, though. Good thing you didn't come back yesterday- rubble, dust and dirt everywhere."

Walter then went up the steps to the loft and walked through to go back down the far steps of the second loft. "Wow, Lynn, come check this out- a palace, indeed, especially if I extend the floor space up here."

Returning to the common area, Walter sat down. "Dave, have you had lunch yet? Want to join us at Kolvelski's? My treat."

"I can pull the RV out as I will be heading home, from there. You guys take care of Richard's problem over there in Arizona?"

"Yup, everything is fixed up better than it was- Richard is a happy camper."

Returning to the garage after lunch at Kovelski's Walter opened the bay door so Lynn could pull the convertible inside then closed up and set security. He then went to his desk to power up the desktop unit and checked the security on the cellar to see nothing had been disturbed.

Lynn went into the kitchen to start coffee then wandered around the place. "Lots and lots of room." She went up the steps to wander around the joined lofts. "Hey, Walter. Remember you said the bathrooms up here can be combined- two showers, one for strawberry and one for you? Sure looks like that would be no problem… how about a big, built for two spa tub… just think of the fun we could have on hot, sweaty LA nights…..…"

Walter came into the bathroom with her, "we would have to take a shower after the bath- so much for saving water." He put his arms around her and kissed her neck. "We have some things to discuss now that we have the place to ourselves. Want to kick back, relax and talk?"

Going into the bedroom, they laid back comfortably. "As I said, I take marriage seriously so we have some things that need to be decided on."

Lynn snickered, "all I need to know is when I need to say 'I do', and good to go."

"You want a big wedding? Some church event- you of a particular faith, have family to bring in from all over the nation? The Coliseum rented for the after wedding reception?"

"Walter, no family to invite. Remember, I told you my mom years ago made herself a family separate from dad and me. So, no, no family, and do I come off as into organized religion in any shape or form? Don't know enough people to fill one section of the bleachers at a high school basketball court. Richard, a few others from work, but a cookout on the roof could cover everyone I could possibly invite to celebrate our getting married. How about you? Have to return to Ireland? Expect half of County Cork to come over?"

Walter chuckled, "as a good and dutiful son, I will inform my parents, offer to bring them over and put them up in a nice hotel while here, but, as they run a working farm, they may pass up the offer. Funny. We are going to start a family without an extended family. So, how you want to go about this?"

Lynn gave him a kiss and smiled, "Quietly do the legal as required by the state- make a run to Las Vegas for a drive through? They still do the Elvis marriages in fifteen minutes or less? Wonder if they ever were legal outside Nevada. What is required here in this state? Shall we do a bit of research?"

"Stay put," Walter said, "I'll go get the laptop." Coming back up with the laptop, "want some coffee? We may be there a while doing research and deciding things."

"Some coffee sounds good."

Walter brought in the laptop and handed it to Lynn then went back into the loft kitchen to pour two cups bring them in and handing her one, putting the other on the bedside table to get on the bed and pull the laptop onto his lap and open it up and start typing. Lynn, sitting on the side of the bed to drink her coffee looked back at him. "Thought you were doing a simple search- turning into an epic story- what you typing?"

Walter held the laptop up so Lynn could not see what he wrote. "You will marry me, right? You won't change your mind and duck out?"

Lynn laughed, "I won't change my mind, I won't duck out…. why, what did you write?"

"You promise?"

"I PROMISE, what did you write?"

Walter put the laptop on his lap, looked at Lynn and hit 'send'. "Well, the die is cast; the deed is done… just sent the message to my parents that I am getting married and will send them tickets if they want to come to the US."

Lynn looked at Walter putting her hand to her mouth, "oh…. my…. God!"

"What?" Walter said, "don't tell me you just chickened out…. changed your mind…. have second thoughts."

"No, it's… it's just reality setting in- we REALLY going to get married?"

Walter set the laptop on the bedside table then looked at Lynn with a slight frown, "Well, I want to marry you, I thought YOU wanted to get married, seems like a good idea if we are going to start a family, the resultant child….. or children….. would probably appreciate having two married parents under the same roof, both attending school parent/teacher conferences and discussing what classes to take at university."

Lynn leaned over to give him a kiss, smiled at him, "good grief, Walter. We aren't even married yet and you are already talking university classes for the kids. What if OUR child wants to be a plumber?"

"Then WE will ensure OUR child is enrolled in the very best trade school available and let them use the college fund we set up for them to start their own business."

"What if we only have girls and all they want to do is find their own visitor from Arcturus and have their own interplanetary hybrid off-spring?"

"Well, by then WE will have designed and built an orbiter to ensure their extended family could come visit."

"Walter, I do love you, you know. You always have an answer that is so level headed and firmly grounded in reality."

"Lynn, I do love you, you know. You always open me up to possibilities, imagination, and a different way of thinking."

"Do your search on getting married in this state- see how soon we can quit living in sin. Can I tell people we be getting married? I am just bursting wanting to tell SOMEONE I will soon be Mrs. Walter O'Brien, the happiest woman on the planet."

Walter leaned over to give her a kiss, "you can take out a full page ad in the paper to announce to the world that Lynn Morris and Walter O'Brien will be joined in matrimony as soon as possible."
