5: A fishtastic potion!

The figure turned around with a strange appearance and some piranhas filled the tank, these things made us jump with fright, falling towards a pile of books. The figure approached menacingly towards us.

-Fly...who is that man?-Stella asked with fear.

The man grabbed a rope to light a lamp and told us with a smile:

-I'm...!-The man began to stammer, trying to remember who he was.

-Professor H.O McKrill?-Chuck asked.

-Oh welcome!-The man lifted Chuck up while shaking his hand -I'm a professor too. Oh, you must come and see my new experiment!-

The professor took Chuck with him, while Fly and I looked at each other confused but relieved, and headed off with the professor and Chuck. The teacher even brought us a small model with water, figurines and other things.

-Due to climatic changes in the Earth's atmosphere-He began to explain-The North and South poles will melt over the course of the next century, causing the total loss of dry and habitable land-

A toy train collided with a lighthouse causing it to fall and dismantle.

-The resulted increased sea level will be 32.000 into the square root of uh…-

-178,885 meters-Chuck said.

-Plus or minus 17.3 feet, depending on relative humidity-Celia finished explaining.

Meanwhile, Stella was trying to get something to drink, but ended up sucking on a fish:

-¡Eww! ¡Yuck!-

Stella ran to the other side of the lab and Steven began to follow her without me realizing it.

-I've made a marvelous discovery, Professor Chuck! It will make possible to human beings survive underwater-

The professor laughed a little while the four of us stood looking at him until he turned around with an empty bottle and said:

-Now, let me show you how to make a fish…potion! First you have to... -He started babbling again trying to remember the ingredients -What was it...?-When he remembered he started laughing-Codfish whiskers! Now I got it, my mind is not what it used to be, this is why I made this song!

-Oh no...-Celia whispered.

And this is how the teacher began to sing a song that goes like this:

If you want to undergo this remarkable transformation

you'll have to mix a few ingredients

Take the twinkle of a light

add the tiny whiskers of a codfish

And ask an octopus

for a dash of ink

The professor began to gather the ingredients while continuing to sing:

Isn't it amazing

like magic, Fishtastic but true!

Isn't it amazing

what science can do?

Add some sea anemones on the flowerbeds of the ocean

Pour it all into a petri dish

And get ready for your gills but before you down a sip of potion

Blend it with the eggs of any fish

I was a little sickened when I saw the fish eggs, although luckily I wasn't the only one:

Isn't it amazing

like magic, Fishtastic but true!

Isn't it amazing

what science can do?

I bet you never dreamt of your tasting

a drink quite like this

One little drop turns you into

a fish!

Fly, Chuck and Celia were surprised while I gave small applause in admiration.
