Chapter 7 - 3D2Y
After his conversation with Kizaru, the number one hero of Japan was given a lot to think about. The World Government wasn't who he thought they were, and the Marines even went so far as to threaten the life of his pupil, Izuku Midoriya, just to keep the Grand Line hidden. Why was this? What were the true motivations of the World Government? Were they as evil as he assumed, or was there some deeper and hidden motivation... his life turned on his head, the hero couldn't be sure.
Standing in front of a button in a deserted area of Sabaody, All Might was completely alone with his thoughts. He heard the faint gushing of water spraying from above him; the Sabaody geyser which was slowly approaching him.
Beyond his questions about the World Government, one other unique thought surfaced within his brain.
"I don't deserve the title of 'Symbol of Peace'."
For the first time in his life since he was quirkless, All Might felt truly powerless.
After nearly 30 minutes, the geyser of the Grand Line had almost lowered itself to All Might's level… and falling down with it was an unconscious boy with a broken arm and leg.
"Young Midoriya?!"
After All Might returned to Japan from the Sabaody geyser alongside the unconscious Izuku, he quickly called a close confidant of his, Naomasa Tsukauchi, a high ranking police detective. The detective used his influence to secure a helicopter which All Might was able to use since both he and Izuku were injured. Due to All Might being in his true form, none of the policemen batted an eye at his injuries.
Due to the nature of both All Might and Izuku's wounds, the pair were taken to UA High in order to be treated by Recovery Girl.
"What happened, All Might?" Tsukauchi asked, "Just who could damage you this badly?"
Despite wanting to answer the question, All Might recalled the words that Kizaru had spoken to him. While it would be reassuring to have Tsukauchi on his side, he knew that he couldn't endanger anyone else.
"It's better if you don't know," he responded.
Both Izuku and All Might were able to recover from their wounds after just a day in the hospital, though that's not to say they weren't able to get out unharmed, as a verbal scolding awaited All Might.
"You should know better than to let that boy get injured, All Might!" Recovery Girl growled, poking All Might with the unsharpened end of her syringe-cane.
"Oh, it was completely my fault, ma'am!" Izuku attempted to say, "Please don't get mad at-"
"You're his student! Of course it's his fault!"
"My apologies young lady, it won't happen again." All Might stated with a nervous smile.
"Hmph." Recovery Girl scoffed, "It might not be my place, but I'd recommend calling that old fart if you can't get a handle on that boy."
All Might visibly shook upon Recovery Girl's suggestion, instantly recognizing who she meant.
When Izuku was discharged, he returned home. His mother was in tears upon seeing Izuku return, as she was worried sick when he didn't come back home the day before. Izuku reassured his mother that he was alright, and told her that it seemed that his quirk had manifested, something which his mother seemed to be extremely happy with. She even decided that she would write a letter to the boy's father in order to tell him the news.
"...Dad..." Izuku thought, recalling what he had learnt about how the Sabaody Archipelago was operated, "Is that really the organization you left us for?"
The next day, Izuku met with All Might on Takoba Beach once more.
All Might explained what happened on Sabaody to Izuku, including his fight with Luffy, Kizaru's warning to him, and how easily Kizaru had defeated Luffy afterwards (though he didn't know if Kizaru was actually the one to beat Luffy, nor if he was captured by him). Despite telling Izuku nearly everything, All Might did not specify the threat Kizaru had given him, that being the threat against Izuku's life; All Might didn't want to put that weight on the boy's shoulders.
"So… how come the rest of Luffy's crew didn't attack you once you showed up?" Izuku asked All Might.
"Oh… they were fighting something that was called… a Pacifista? I think it was? It had a white hat with spots, long black hair, glasses, darker skin, a large body with a white target looking thing on it-"
"Okay, I get it! I get it!" Izuku interjected, causing All Might to be surprised by Izuku's interjection momentarily, but then he laughed afterwards.
After Izuku was informed of the events that had occurred, he only said one thing to All Might.
"Then… there's no debate then!" Izuku stated, "Even if the people on the Grand Line are stronger than us now… we just need to get stronger! Then we'll be able to save those who need saving!"
The naive hope of Izuku shocked All Might. Not because it was unexpected, but because he noted the stark contrast between his own reaction to the Marines' overwhelming strength and Izuku's. All Might smiled and laughed, as he knew that Izuku was going to make something of himself; even if the hero that was All Might couldn't be an unshakable Symbol for the people of the Grand Line, he knew his student could be.
"First things first, young Midoriya." All Might, currently in his true form, began, "You need to focus on getting into U.A. High, and learning to use One For All without breaking your limbs. Even if we need to reach the top as fast as possible, skip steps too fast, we'll just end up falling down the stairs."
As the days went by, eventually, the news pertaining to Ace's execution was released to Japan... just not in the form that All Might or Izuku expected. All that was said was that the Marines fought against the Whitebeard Pirates in Marineford, and won... there wasn't so much as a single mention of Portgas D. Ace!
After learning of this news, in secrecy, All Might decided to return to the Sabaody Archipelago once more, this time being cautious enough to not bring his cellphone. While it was risky to return again, All Might didn't want to miss out on a single piece of news from the Grand Line when he had missed out on so much in the past. He also felt responsible for giving the news of Luffy's status to Izuku, which was another reason he went.
After reaching the Archipelago, he went to Shakky's Rip-Off Bar and met up with the bar's owner. Once he arrived, she gave All Might a copy of the paper which contained the news.
"Hah… I just can't believe all this." All Might said, overwhelmed by the news he had read, both pertaining to Ace's execution and Luffy's sudden appearence, "A crossed out 3D, and beside it, 2Y… what do you suppose it could mean?"
"Dunno, Monkey was a wild boy." Shakky commented, "But, I'm sure those who need to get the message will receive it just fine."
All Might, even despite the overwhelming pressure that he faced at the moment, still couldn't help but smile here and now.
"Even after such a fate fell upon him… it's inspiring to see holds on to hope." All Might stated. His words caused Shakky to flash a smile as well.
However, the changes to All Might and Izuku were not the only ones that were noticeable at this time.
Back when Kuma sent the members of the Straw Hat crew flying, there was one member who found themselves at a different destination than they should have been. That member was none other than Chopper, where instead of landing in the Torino Kingdom, Chopper instead landed just on top of the Sabaody Archipelago, on the same shores he found himself in when the Straw Hat crew had first met Izuku Midoriya and All Might. Chopper had arrived in Japan!
"Where… am I?" Chopper muttered, awakening from his sleep, noticing that a massive paw print shaped crater was left in the sand he lay upon, "Woah… I wonder if the others are alright?"
Despite Chopper's ignorance, such a large impact in a largely peaceful city did not go unnoticed. With the bravery of a refined veteran, a hero walked over to see just what had caused the impact.
"Hey kid, you alright?" the hero asked, through a stuffy voice.
Chopper turned around, wondering just who was behind him, as he saw a woman.
She had fair skin, albeit it seemed noticeably more flushed than it normally should've. Her hair was long, and colored dark purple. Complimenting that was a pair of piercing, sky blue eyes hidden behind a pair of glasses, though the expression she wore was a fatigued one which didn't quite sell her look. Besides that, her outfit was quite casual, as she only wore a long sweater, covering most of her body!
"Oh, yeah! I'm alright, thanks for asking!" Chopper responded.
The woman looked exhausted... but her mind on the other hand was not. Inspired by Chopper's appearence, all her brain could think was, "Cute!"
Coughing to break herself momentarily out of such a trance, the woman noted that Chopper seemed to be pretty young, and was outside without his parents. Seeing the paw-print on the ground, she assumed that Chopper had been launched onto the beach here by a sibling playing around with them. She'd have to give whoever did this a scolding, but for now, she had a responsibility to get this child home. From this, her course of action was decided.
"If you're okay…" she began, a small and reassuring smile growing onto her face, "Then would you mind telling me your name and address? I'm a hero and can help you get back home."
"My name is Tony Tony Chopper, and you can address me as a doctor!" Chopper cheerfully responded.
"A doctor, eh?" the lady said somewhat cheerfully and drowsily. Sidetracked due to being slightly delirious, she began to think about the situation, "So you've gone to medical school then?"
"Nope! But, I did train under Dr. Kureha back in my hometown!" Chopper excitedly delivered, as the lady began to question what Chopper was talking about.
"Dr. Kureha?" the lady thought, "She was a famous Japanese doctor before she vanished about a hundred years ago… and this kid thinks he was trained by her? Did he hit his head from that impact? Or is he older than I thought?"
"A-are you sure you're alright, kid?" the lady asked, now concerned.
"Yep!" Chopper cheerfully stated, as he then asked, "Oh, by the way, do you know where we are? I just came from the Sabaody Archipelago."
"Uh, we're in Mustafu, Japan." she responded.
"Japan?!" Chopper exclaimed. Thinking for a moment, he then realized something, "It's been three days... Luffy will be leaving for Fishman Island any moment now! I have to get to Sabaody quickly!"
Transforming into his reindeer form, Chopper began to run away. The professional hero was shocked by the sudden transformation.
"H-hey! Where do you think you're going?!"
"Sorry, but I don't have much time to waste! I've gotta get back to my crew!"
Chopper then dashed away from the beach they had been standing on and into a nearby alleyway, but the lady followed Chopper in hot pursuit, running as fast as she could to try to keep up with the slow and steady sprint Chopper remained at.
"Hey, kid! You do know that unauthorized quirk usage is illegal around these parts, right?!" she shouted, breathing heavily.
"Quirks… oh." Chopper realized what the lady meant, as he shouted back at her, "I don't have a quirk! I ate the Human Human Fruit, which made me a human-reindeer!"
"The Human Human… what are you talking about?!" the lady shouted down to Chopper.
"Sorry, but I can't stay and chat!" Chopper exclaimed, "Everyone! I'll be there as fast as I can!"
Suddenly, the woman behind Chopper went into a coughing fit, as she fell onto the ground. Chopper paused, and watched the lady as she pushed herself onto a nearby building to rest. Chopper, analyzing the situation, went back to help.
"Are you alright?" Chopper asked, redirecting the hero's earlier question right back at her. The hero only smiled at.
"Yeah…" the woman slowly said, clearly not telling the truth; she had been pushing herself too hard recently.
"You don't seem to be from around here…" she continued, "And you've got a family you need to find, right? I won't be much help like this, so get a move on."
Chopper hesitated for a moment… it was true that he needed to get back to his crew… but, some of the others had also been blasted off by that bear-hat guy... and of them, he surely was the closest to the Sabaody Archipelago, right? He definitely had some time to spare.
"Hold still… I'm gonna try and take your temperature." Chopper said.
"H-huh? I told you… I'm fine." the lady said, burning up.
"It's alright. I'm a doctor, this is what I do." Chopper replied, as the lady, despite her initial reluctance, let Chopper do his doctoring.
A few minutes later, Chopper had finished his examination and given out a small dosage of medicine, which let the lady miraculously feel better.
"There! You should feel like you're back to normal now." stated the doctor.
The lady felt her forehead with the back of her hand, and while her fever hadn't gone away, she was certainly feeling well enough to get going now, and she could probably even speak without difficulty!
"Woah, you made my cold go away… I can probably even get back to hero work now!" The lady excitedly stated, starting to get up.
"Are you crazy?!" Chopper shouted, startling the lady, "You still have a massive fever, and you've clearly been pushing yourself recently! It might seem fine now, but keep pushing yourself, and sometime it won't! Go home and get some rest!"
The hero was shocked by Chopper's quick anger for her sake, and in response, started laughing.
"What's so funny?!" Chopper yelled out.
"Nothing… it's just that I didn't expect someone as adorable as you to be so capable… and so quick to anger for the sake of another." the lady chuckled.
While she initially wanted to help the kid, it seemed that he was the one to help her in the end.
"Aw, you think that complimenting me will make me happy or anything, well don't count on it you big dummy!" Chopper said, excitedly dancing in a manner that caused the lady to chuckle once more.
"Either way kid, thanks… and good luck on finding your family!" the hero stated, "And, given how you're not from around here… you probably don't know who I am, right?"
"Nope, but I'd like to!" Chopper said with an innocent excitement to his voice.
"My name is Nemuri Kayama, but my hero name is the R Rated Hero: Midnight!" She stated, throwing a piece of paper over to Chopper, "If you ever need a helping hand here in Japan, just give me a call! I won't ever hesitate to help out any sprouting youth, even if I tried to not!"
"Alright! Will do!" Chopper cheerfully stated.
The pro hero Midnight left the alleyway after this, going to get some rest as per her doctor's orders. This left Chopper there all alone once more in the unknown land of Japan, but thankfully, he had a plan.
"The geyser that'll take me to Sabaody…" Chopper thought, "The group discussed its location before they left… but… I've never been there myself! Will I even be able to find it?"
Upon thinking such a thought however, Chopper quickly slammed his hooves into the side of his face,
"No! Don't think like that!" Chopper thought, "After all… if I said something like that to Luffy, he'd probably just call me an idiot! There's no harm in trying so be brave, for them! Just... march on forwards with a smile!"
Though it took Chopper more than even a day, he eventually found his way back to the Sabaody Archipelago. There, he rented out a room in a bubble-hotel he had heard about previously. With the little bit of allowance he had, the doctor ate up all the Cotton Candy his stomach could ever want, and with a full belly, waited for the Straw Hats to return for days… but nobody came.
"Jeez... my stomach's beginning to hurt from all that cotton candy..." Chopper thought aloud, grasping his growling stomach, "If only Sanji was here... then maybe he would have stopped me."
Without any real goals in mind, Chopper headed to Shakky's Rip-Off Bar… maybe all his friends were there, waiting for him! But once he opened the door, all he found was the first of many who had potentially put them in their tomb.
"Y-you!" Chopper stated, clearly shocked by the sight of the hero in front of him, "Why are you here?!"
In front of Chopper in a skeleton-like form was the professional hero, All Might. Due to the reindeer's reaction, the hero remained silent, allowing Shakky to speak up for him to ease the boy's frustrations.
"Calm yourself." Shakky ordered the boy, "He's just here to read the paper. Give it a read yourself."
Shakky tossed Chopper a copy of the newspaper, which he was previously unable to read due to simply forgetting about them. Once he read the paper however, a somber look filled his eyes… Ace, Luffy's brother, was dead… but, another message caught his eye as well.
"A crossed out 3D… and beside it, a 2Y?" Chopper questioned, "Oh! I see!"
All Might looked quizzically at Chopper, but Shakky looked as if she understood everything. All Might then spoke up.
"Chopper…" All Might said, as Chopper looked up, "I am sorry for fighting against Luffy. However, understand that as a hero, it is my job to punish villains; those who break the laws of society. Even if I were to have wanted to save him, I could not without jeopardizing all the peace that I had built over the years… and all the trust that people have given me in the past!"
Small amounts of tears began to fall from Chopper's eyes. He understood that what happened to Luffy wasn't All Might's fault.
"I'm sorry too. It was unfair of me to get so upset at you earlier." Chopper stated himself, "Um, if you don't mind me asking though... you stated that you had to fight against Luffy in order to not break the trust people have given you, so how come you came with us to Sabaody in the first place?"
All Might paused for a moment, considering the punishment that may fall onto Chopper if he told him. However, All Might noted that Chopper was a pirate… no matter the danger of any given situation, he would launch into it if it meant freedom.
"Shakky… unless-" All Might began.
"Don't worry All Might… I'm a pirate too, probably more wanted than both of you combined." she explained, as All Might breathed a sigh of relief, saying merely, "I see."
"When I came to the Sabaody Archipelago, I brought my smartphone last time." All Might explained, "Smartphones have a tracking chip inside them… useful to keep on you for when you're doing hero work, but, entering into the Grand Line distorts signals such as the one emitted by the tracking chip. By honing onto that signal before it fully disappeared, the Marines were able to discern that I was All Might."
All Might continued after a brief pause, "The transponder snail you gave me… the Marines called me with it, and told me that the normal price to pay for a person from the seven continents traveling to Sabaody was typically death. With Young Midoriya beside me, I obviously couldn't just ignore their call… for that'd put him in jeopardy as well."
A drop of sweat could be seen dropping down Chopper's face, as he never knew about the price they were forcing All Might and Izuku to pay just by coming down here.
"As the Seven Continents' number one hero, I was given a special privilege to survive… as silly as that sounds." All Might explained, "And as you know, afterwards I found your crew, and lost to Luffy… but after that, I was patched up by the Marines and taken to an interrogation room by a guy in yellow who wore a pair of sunglasses."
"Admiral Kizaru…" Chopper remarked.
"He then told me that I couldn't tell any bit of information about the Grand Line to anyone else… and to keep me in check, they threatened to kill Young Midoriya, even though I don't believe they ever knew of his travels to Sabaody." All Might finished, adding one more bit to the end, "I told all this to Young Midoriya, seeing as he already learnt so much, barring that last bit."
"…That's awful." Chopper said after a brief moment of silence, "But… I'll be here for another two years, trying to get stronger as per my captain's orders… so, if there's anything I could do to help, just let me know!"
All Might smiled down at Chopper,
"Two years, eh? That's-"
All Might then had a sudden realization wash over him.
"Chopper, how old did you say you were?"
"Huh? I just turned 15 a few weeks ago, why?" Chopper asked, confusedly.
"Your wanted poster! Do you have one, what does it look like?!" All Might asked, as Shakky went into the back.
"Uh… I'd rather not talk about it…" Chopper said, embarrassed.
"Here it is, All Might." Shakky said, having found it in the back, to Chopper's horror.
All Might quickly read through it, as he realized just what this meant.
Even though this was likely illegal, he knew that Luffy and his crew were good people, and powerful allies that Young Midoriya could have in the future. At this moment, the law and justice didn't align at all, and knowing just how the Marines were, he decided to act on justice to create a brighter future!
"Chopper!" All Might asked, in a quick manner which shocked the boy. In fear, the reindeer quickly ran to and failed to hide behind a table, "O-oh… sorry."
"I-it's fine… go on…" Chopper shakily asserted, still hiding behind the table.
All Might sighed, and began to explain.
"You said that you need to train for two years, in order to become a lot stronger, correct?" All Might asked.
"Y-yes sir!" Chopper replied.
"And, you've never gone through any professional training in order to attempt to do so, have you?" All Might asked.
"N-no sir!" Chopper replied yet again, hastily.
"Then Chopper, why don't you come up to Japan… and train at U.A.'s hero academy-"
"WHAT?! A school for heroes?!" Chopper shouted, "Are you ill or something, All Might?! I'm a pirate!"
"Yeah… not to doubt the legitimacy of your plan, All Might, but surely they'd do a bounty check on Chopper once they found he was from the Grand Line." Shakky said, doubting the logic behind All Might's plan.
"Of course… but that's why I asked for his bounty!" All Might noted, "With a bounty as low as 50 berries, surely they would suspect that Chopper wasn't an actual member of the Straw Hat Pirates! The Grand Line is an odd place, so maybe they would assume that he gained sentience somehow and decided to come to Japan!"
"Yeah, but then what about documents?" Shakky questioned, "UA would need them in order to ensure the validity of Chopper's identity... their security would fire several red flags if he had none."
"Wouldn't it be possible for me to just get some?"
"Relations between the Grand Line and the Seven Continents are kept strictly to a minimum. You'd have to go through an incredibly complicated process involving several World Government officials in order to gain said documents."
"Oh... well, there are still other ways!" All Might explained, turning his attention over to Chopper, "I'm a teacher at U.A. High. If you were willing… you could train under me, and I'll teach you the very same lessons that you would otherwise learn at the school. Disguise some of your identifying attributes, and you'll be able to come in and out of Japan just fine… at least, hopefully."
Chopper considered the offer for a moment. Of course, this was great for him, after all, All Might was Japan's greatest hero, and would of course have plenty of great tips. Plus, it would allow him to chat more with Midoriya, who he had become fast friends with previously.
But at the same time… strength wasn't his only objective! He wanted to get stronger, but he also wanted to get closer to his dream of being the world's greatest doctor! His crew would accept no less! Plus, All Might was already in enough trouble at this point… Chopper knew he couldn't just put more on All Might's plate by forcing him to harbor a criminal. He had to do things independently for once.
"I'm sorry All Might… but…" Chopper began, but All Might cut him off.
"I understand your concerns, but…" All Might said, "Nonetheless, I didn't give you the offer just because this was a convenient situation… you and your crew, Chopper, regardless of your status as pirates, have the hearts of true heroes! If you'll allow me, I want to help you on your crew's journey to become greater heroes than you already are! Such encouragement of sprouting youth is part of what it means to be the Symbol of Peace!"
Chopper was blown away by All Might's speech, and yet again, reconsidered the offer… could he?
"There is one thing you're forgetting though All Might…" Shakky intervened, "Chopper's not just training to be a fighter, but also, a doctor… and that's something beyond your field of expertise, correct?"
"Oh… yeah." All Might said, shrinking into a depression, "Even so… the U.A. Entrance Exams are occurring only three months from now. If you change your mind, then come talk to me sometime after that."
Chopper nodded, as All Might then got up.
"Well, that's all I have time for. I have a meeting that I have to attend now…" All Might muttered.
"A meeting?" Shakky questioned.
"Yeah… I'm meeting with some people who are forming a high school on their own island." All Might said, smiling nervously. "I'm sure I'll come back sometime later, so see you then."
All Might then exited, leaving only Chopper and Shakky behind.
"He's certainly not just meeting up with someone who's forming a high school… maybe a hero business?" Shakky intuited, "Are you planning on learning from U.A, Chopper?"
"Huh? Well, I'm not too sure." Chopper noted, "It'd probably be really good training… but, I don't wanna put All Might in harm's way… plus, you're right, I do wanna practice my medicine while I'm here!"
"Well, if you wish to practice medicine, I could always teach you a few tricks I picked up from the island I came from." Shakky stated, "Plus, I know some people I could request to come to Sabaody for you to learn from."
"Really?! That'd be great, thanks!" Chopper stated.
"It's not a problem." Shakky responded, "But also… I bet Japan would have numerous medicinal equipment you'd have never heard of in the past. The medical equipment on the island has probably developed way beyond where it was when I last went there... it could be worthwhile to go to Japan instead of using my connections as well."
"Yeah… you're probably right about that…" Chopper added, as he thought for a bit about what to do next…
…
Then, he remembered the slip of paper he got earlier. The legal issues with going to UA, maybe he had a way around them after all.
"All Might said the Entrance Exam for that school is happening 3 months from now… right?"
About fifteen minutes after leaving the Sabaody Archipelago, delayed by the fact that he stopped a villain attack along the way, All Might arrived above Honno City, where he recalled he battled All for One just a few years ago.
"I should really apologize for all the damage I did to the area… must've been a pain for the construction workers." All Might thought, as he landed in front of the academy. As he looked behind himself, he saw houses and buildings scattered throughout the island.
"I remember that back when I was browsing houses so that I could potentially live closer to U.A., I found these houses here in Honno City for dirt cheap. Must be how they're trying to attract people to live here." All Might thought, beginning to walk into the academy's field, "But with how cheap they were… do they even have a single hope of making back the money they lost?"
All Might's train of thought stopped completely once he heard a single heel click.
"I see you've finally arrived, All Might." a powerful voice spoke from far above the man.
Her dark, slightly blue hair was extremely long, reaching all the way down to her waist. She held a stern expression, as though she had experienced a lifetime of war, yet still remained pure despite all of that. White clothes lay upon her body, with slight blue and yellow color breaking into them from time to time, but a much more significant feature was the sword she had right in front of her, 'Bakuzan'. Her appearance made it seem almost as if an angel had ascended down from the heavens.
And as if cementing her power, four other future students of her academy surrounded her, each with uniforms which contained three stars on them, and equally unique additions to each to add a bit of flair to their appearances.
"You must be Ms. Kiryuin, the future Student Council President of this school." All Might suggested.
"Yes, but feel free to call me Satsuki." she commanded, "We have much to discuss, All Might. I take it you made sure nobody was tailing you?"
"Of course."
"Then… Please enter behind me. I will explain everything." Satsuki ordered, as All Might swiftly followed, jumping directly up to the podium. He followed Satsuki, and her four followers as well.
"Who are these four here?" All Might questioned.
"These are four followers I have recruited to join my cause. The one with green hair is Uzu Sanageyama, the Student Council Athletic Committee Chairman. The one with blonde hair is Ira Gamagori, the Student Council Disciplinary Committee Chairman. With blue hair, is Hoka Inumuta, Chairman of the Strategy Committee, and with the Pink Hair is Nonon Jakuzure, the Chairman of the Non-Athletic Committee." Satsuki explained with tactical efficiency.
"C'mon lady Satsuki, that's really all you have to say about us?" Jakuzure chimed in with a smile on her face, displaying her extreme confidence in conversing with the cold and intimidating Satsuki.
"The rest he will learn for himself." Satsuki said unflinchingly, as they entered the room of the Student Council.
"If you don't mind me asking…" All Might began, before being interrupted.
"Ask any question you want. You are Japan's best." Satsuki interjected.
"A-ah… thanks." All Might stated, "Just… What is the purpose of today's meeting? You contacted me… claiming that there was an issue that should be brought to my attention?"
"Inumuta, are we secure?" interrogated Satsuki.
"As far as I'm aware, milady." Inumuta responded.
"Then… we can begin." Satsuki stated, "Toshinori Yagi… have you ever heard… of life fibers-"
"Wait." All Might stated, holding his hand up, as Satsuki stared at it unflinchingly, looking past it to meet All Might's face, "If this has anything to do with the Kiryuin conglomerate, I should tell you that I've recently been threatened by the World Government, and thus, cannot guarantee the secrecy of any operation you'd be requesting I take part in."
"Threatened?" Satsuki questioned.
"Yes… I've recently discovered something that they didn't want me to see." All Might explained, and without a single second's hesitation, Satsuki changed her plan.
"Very well then, it can't be helped." Satsuki stated, "Once you believe it's safe, we'll have this discussion once more."
"I apologize for the inconvenience." All Might said, ashamed that such a meeting had ended like this.
"Worry not… but, you would be more than willing to accept a token of our partnership, correct?" Satsuki said with a slight smirk, as her plan might be able to go even smoother than she had expected after all.
"Of course. What would that be?"
"Sanageyama." Satsuki wordlessly ordered.
"Will do!" he responded, rushing off.
"What I will be providing you with today is known as a Goku Uniform." Satsuki announced, "By wearing a Goku Uniform, even those who are completely lacking any ambition would be able to gain extreme levels of power."
"Just how extreme?" All Might asked.
"If one wore a Kamui, or a completely pure Goku Uniform, they would undoubtedly eclipse even your level of power." Satsuki answered with swiftness, as All Might grew shocked quickly, but after what had occurred on Sabaody, maybe that wasn't so absurd after all.
"But the strength of the Goku uniform you're able to wear is entirely dependent on your willpower; the weaker the will, the lesser stars you can handle. We've found three star Goku uniforms to be the safest at the moment for those with competent enough wills, so we'll be giving one to you."
"And… Do you expect I'll need it?" All Might questioned, nervously, as Satsuki merely maintained the smirk she had begun earlier.
"You'll have to wait until our next meeting to find out." she declared.
"Lady Satsuki! The uniform is here, as you requested!" Sanageyama stated.
"Excellent."
Sanageyama provided the uniform to All Might, who took it with a single, massive hand.
"Quirks typically don't mesh well with Goku Uniforms, as only one's physical strength is enhanced by them." Satsuki began to remark, "But for your quirk, seeing as it enhances your physique as is, there should be no problem. With the Goku uniform, you should only expect your strength to at least double, depending on how in tune you are with your will."
"D-double?!" All Might questioned.
"Of course. Are you beginning to see the importance of the issue that I'm bringing up?" Satsuki questioned right back.
"Yes… Thank you for this. I'll be off!" All Might stated, walking away.
"I'll contact you again once the thunderstorm begins." Satsuki professed, "Don't get caught up in the rain."
All Might continued walking, responding with an affirmative silence. He reached the outside platform that Satsuki had stood once before, and launched himself upwards, prepared to rush back to Japan.
"Best to not tell Young Midoriya about this. He's got enough on his plate already." All Might reasoned, looking down at the uniform afterwards, "Double my strength… Does that mean that each of those four back there were just as strong as me? Or were they even stronger?"
In her office, a figure who believed herself to be completely pure sat upon her throne. Holding a wine glass with two fingers, she stared out at the world. Everywhere, she saw the beauty of mere apes donning the wonder that was clothing; the sole purpose of the Kiryuin family was soon to come to fruition.
"Lady Ragyo," the secretary of Ragyo, Rei Hoomaru, began, "We have officially taken over 100% of the fashion industry within the Seven Continents."
"How wonderful." Ragyo commented, not breaking her gaze on those who were down below her, "Soon, the beauty of the life fibers will be known to all."
"Indeed, it's quite the wonderful time to be alive."
Ragyo merely smiled. Her plans were coming to fruition perfectly... and why wouldn't they? Her ambition was the purest one in the world... something that her Haki proved to her.
"If our analysis is correct, we should also be able to subjugate the Grand Line to the will of the life fibers within two years." Hoomaru noted, "Though that may prove to be more complicated than expected, with just how many islands there are on the Grand Line."
"Humans exist to be covered by clothing." Ragyo stated, "It may take time, but I'm sure that everyone in the world will submit to the will of the life fibers... for their will is the purest thing in the world.
End of Chapter Notes
And with that, we're done with the first major section of the story!
Both the Origin Arc and the Sabaody Archipelago Arc come together to make the 'Origins Saga'; think of it as the prologue to the main story which will be kicking off soon.
Lots of stuff has been set up in this chapter. Some stuff will be utilized right away, other things will take some time to get payoff. I hope you all enjoy seeing just how these things unfold!
Oh yeah, I also came up with a list of the movies and OVA's I think I'll be covering in Kill One Hero. Let me drop a list:
CANON SPECIALS: These are special chapters which will be canon to the story of Kill One Hero.
- One Piece: Romance Dawn Story (not the one from episode 907. Will be adapted before or around Chapter 14)
- One Piece Fan Letter (will be adapted slightly before One Piece's 2-year timeskip)
NON-CANON SPECIALS: These are special chapters which will NOT be canon to the story of Kill One Hero, but will exist as 'what if' scenarios.
- My Hero Academia: Two Heroes (will be adapted after the Sports Festival Arc or it's equivalent)
- My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising (will be adapted after the Sports Festival Arc or it's equivalent AND after Two Heroes)
- One Piece: Stampede (will be adapted after One Piece's 2-year timeskip)
NOT CREATING:
- One Piece Movies 1-11
- One Piece's 3D2Y Special
- The My Hero Academia OVA's
The rest you can assume I'm unsure about, haven't watched, or have plans with that I wouldn't like to state at the moment.
[SHOCKING REVIEW SHOWCASE]
I figure that since this section isn't always about questions, I could rename it to the Shocking Review Showcase instead. The SRS sounds pretty cool too as opposed to the SQS… both sound alright actually, but let's get into it!
To kick things off, I'll answer sir MaximumRhapsody's question about whether All for One or Ragyo Kiryuin know about Haki, which actually is a nice springboard for me to talk about their interaction in Chapter 2 as a whole.
Allow me to bring a quote from Ragyo's first appearance, "...and a presence that could only be noted as terrifying, so much so that the boy named Tomura could barely stay awake in her presence."
Later on, Ragyo also knocked out Tomura with a strange sort of energy. Both of these showings are caused by Conqueror's Haki, and an intentional usage of it, no less. The only intriguing thing is the strength of Ragyo's Haki, as without even activating her Conqueror's Haki, she still passively intimidated Tomura enough to exhaust him.
As for All for One, he knows about Ragyo's own ability to use Haki, and while he minces his words about it, there's no doubt he's far weaker than Ragyo Kiryuin, the extent of which you'll see when Ragyo's strength compared to other, powerful foes is shown for the first time.
While All for One knows about Haki, he has no means of learning the ability for himself without potentially becoming a target of the World Government, something he seeks to avoid until he accumulates enough strength to overcome them.
Aaaand that's all for the SRS! Thank you to MaximumRhapsody for your continued support, and to you all who have continued to read Kill One Hero!
