Chapter 9 - An Explosive Start!

Note:

In comparison to other chapters, this one is a lot smaller. I was originally going to be adding on a special chapter detailing a One Piece OVA before this one, but that's not in the cards for now. I'll still try to get that out sometime or another, but for now, all I have to say is sorry!

"W-WHAT?! 200 POINTS?!" Chopper cried out.

A week after the UA Entrance Exams, the pirate who owed his allegiance to the Straw Hat crew had obtained a projector which told him that he had gained entry into UA High, the most prestigious hero school in all of Japan... but that wasn't all, as alongside that, he also found out that he had gotten over double the points of even the second place student!

"So, it seems that the U.A. staff must've ignored your history as a Pirate." Shakky calmly noted, "Beyond your new appearance, it must be because of your low bounty, the fact that you were a pet… and I'm sure it doesn't hurt that All Might and that one other hero were on the staff team either."

"B-but still, how the heck did I end up getting the record for the most points ever?!"

"Well, everyone else who signed up were middle school students without combat experience, something which you have in spades."

"Oh… yeah, that makes sense." Chopper said, struggling to get used to the advantage he had compared to his new peers.

"Izuku Midoriya though… It's certainly interesting that he got second place." Shakky stated, "If I were to guess, his lower villain points were likely because he didn't use his quirk, if he has one. Those rescue points though? They have to be from either one huge or many repeated instances of aiding his fellow students… it's a tossup to which."

"Yeah, I'm glad he got in though." Chopper said, smiling, "It'll be nice to have a friend in U.A.!"

Shakky couldn't help but smile back, "I'm glad he got in as well."

A month or so passed after this, as the day which the school year begun had arrived.

Standing at the door to his house in his new school uniform, Izuku Midoriya was finally ready to leave his house and enter UA High's hero course. On the long road that awaited him, this was his first step to becoming a professional hero!

"I've gotta hurry Mom, otherwise I'll be late!" Izuku said, frantically putting on his shoes.

"Are you sure you have everything?" Izuku's mother, Inko Midoriya, questioned.

Izuku nodded in response, and quickly stammered, "Yes, Mom!"

"Including a spare change of clothes in case your uniform gets blown up?"

"Yes, yes Mom, I do…"

"One more thing-"

"What?!"

Inko Midoriya hesitated, as she wanted to put all her emotions into just one statement.

"You look great." she stated, with a bittersweet tone.

Izuku couldn't help but smile at his mothers words, as the reality quickly set in that this was really happening… he was actually about to attend U.A. Academy, the school which All Might himself attended; his dream wasn't just a dream anymore...

With a smile, Izuku was only able to mutter, "See you later!"

"This place is huge..." Izuku muttered, in awe of just how large U.A. really was. If he had any doubt as to just how grandiose U.A. was going to be, surely those doubts were all smashed now!

From science labs filled with both students and high-tech equipment which those in the general course studied within, to massive gyms which would put even the most high budget schools to shame, UA seemed to have it all!

"This year thirty eight students were admitted through the standard exam… that makes nineteen in both classes." Izuku recalled, "Not including those admitted through recommendations, of course."

U.A. High had over 600 students currently learning at their academy, a surprisingly low number which showed just how impossible to get into U.A. really was.

"I just hope that I'm not in the same class as Kacchan." Izuku thought, having made it to the giant door which housed Class 1-A behind it, "It'd be kind of awkward after what happened a few weeks ago…"

A mix of emotions swirled in Izuku's heart, with a feeling of nervousness seeming to trump all others within his body.

"Alright… once I open up this door, I'll get my first glimpse into my new life here!" Izuku thought, "Here I go!"

Opening the door, Izuku instantly saw and heard many things.

"Remove your foot from that desk!" a voice called out, "Such an action is insulting to the students who came before us, not to mention the craftsman behind this desk!"

"Like I care!" a spiky blonde responded, "What middle school are you from, extra?!"

For one, his worst fears seemed to be true, as he was in the same class as Bakugo. The nitroglycerin boy had his foot up on his desk, and was arguing with the blue haired, glasses-wearing boy who had brought up the zero-pointer to Present Mic.

"I'm from Somei Private Academy, my name is Tenya Ida-"

"Ooh, Somei? So you're a stuck up elitist then?!" Bakugo scowled, "I should blow you to bits!"

Not paying much attention, Izuku decided to ignore the duo and moved quickly to his seat, which was the eighteenth spot. Unfortunately, that still left him directly behind the arguing pair. Suddenly, the glasses-wearing boy noticed Izuku taking his seat, and ceased his arguing with Bakugo, deciding to talk with Izuku instead.

"Hello there, my name is Tenya Ida, and I'm from Somei-"

"You don't have to re-introduce yourself! I heard you from earlier… my name's Izuku Midoriya, pleased to meet you!"

Bakugo looked over at the pair of Ida and Izuku for a moment, but turned around a moment later, deciding not to intervene.

"Midoriya, you… while I was too focused on destroying those mechs, you perceived the true nature of the Practical Exam… I hate to admit it, but you were the superior candidate to me!"

"D-don't sell yourself short!" Izuku said with an awkward smile, "I didn't notice either, my body just acted that way on impulse!"

"Gah! So it wasn't even a matter of perception… but the spirit of a true hero that motivated you?!" Ida claimed, recontextualizing his own perceptions of Izuku, "It seems your strength was even greater than what I had judged earlier!"

"I mean… at least he's admitting his own faults." Izuku thought, not sure what to do in this situation.

Still holding his tongue, Bakugo nonetheless glared at the duo of Tenya Ida and Deku... he still couldn't believe just what that loser had done just a few weeks ago.

"How wonderful that two of our own students made it into U.A!" one of Izuku and Bakugo's previous middle school teachers said, "Especially you, Midoriya! That's a miracle we never expected!"

In what seemed like an instant, Bakugo had gotten Izuku into an alleyway, and began to threaten him, grabbing his shirt.

"What dirty tricks did you use to surpass me, huh, you quirkless wanna-be hero?!" Bakugo yelled at Izuku, who continued to remain silent.

"I was supposed to be the first and only… but you ruined all my plans, worthless fucking Deku!"

Izuku continued to not say anything, which only made Bakugo even more enraged.

"Say something, bastard!"

"Are you done?" Izuku said, to the shock of Bakugo, as he pushed away Bakugo's hand, which didn't seem as intent to grab Izuku anymore, "This argument… it's pointless. You wanna know why I got into U.A.? You'll find out for yourself soon enough… or, if you want, you can always ask me for what tips I used without threatening me, I'll gladly provide you with them!"

Bakugo seemed heavily offended, but Izuku just walked away.

"I'm going to U.A. to become strong… just like you are, because someone told me that it was possible that I could become a hero… you may have your plans… but I have mine as well, Kacchan!"

While Izuku walked away, he put his hand up to say bye to Bakugo, accompanying his gesture with a simple, "See you in U.A."

"Why did that shake me so much?" Bakugo questioned, frustrated. While Bakugo reminisced, Izuku was still talking with Ida.

"Wow! Your quirk is really cool, it reminds me of the Pro Hero Ingenium!" Izuku stated, stars forming in his eyes upon Ida explaining his quirk to him.

"Well, actually-"

"Ah! That curly hair!" A bubbly voice interjected.

Izuku turned his attention away from Ida, as approaching his desk was a girl who looked equally round and bubbly.

"Wow! You got in, just like Present Mic said you would!"

"A-ah... hello!" Izuku barely managed to squeak out, caught off guard.

"Can't say I'm surprised though! You were totally awesome back there!"

"T-thanks! Uh, thanks for speaking up for me back then as well..."

Around this time, the group's conversation should have been interrupted by their homeroom teacher... however, in this story, he seemed to be preoccupied with something else.

In a hallway not far off from Class 1-A, a scraggly man dressed almost exclusively in black, with only a slight bit of capture tape breaking that streak, was currently attempting to intimidate the student who was below him; a reindeer who ate the Human Human Fruit, Tony Tony Chopper.

"I specifically requested for you to be in my class." the teacher stated, speaking down to his shorter student, "Can you guess why that is?"

"Um... not really, sorry." the student, Chopper, replied.

"I used to be a Marine." The teacher revealed, "A captain of a Naval Base in the West Blue, and I know not to underestimate pirates, especially those from the Grand Line… they're ruthless, and play by their own rules."

Chopper didn't respond, as a drop of sweat fell down his face, yet his expression remained neutral. The teacher elaborated.

"Even though you seem to have charmed the other teachers, I'll be keeping an eye on you… so keep all the secrets you want, but if you so much as dare to hurt my students, I'll make you regret it."

"I'm a doctor. I don't intend to hurt anyone." Chopper said, as the teacher with unkempt hair planned a swift and tactical response.

"Then you'll find it hard to participate in combat training then, eh?"

"Boy... I sure am nervous about just what U.A. has in store!" the bubbly girl stated.

"Nonesense! If you're talented enough to have made it into this fine establishment, then you surely have nothing to fear!" Ida responded.

Despite being the owner of the desk that both Ida and the girl stood at, Izuku wasn't contributing to the conversation very much, merely holding an awkward smile. He wasn't used to conversing with people he didn't know, and didn't know how to 'fit in' with them very well.

"If you're here to socialize, then get out." the voice of the aforementioned teacher rang out, standing outside of the door with his hair still unkempt.

Izuku, Ida, and the bubbly girl all looked back at the teacher.

"That must be our teacher... he must be a pro hero then." Izuku noted internally, despite not recognizing his figure.

"You all must have been conversing with one another, even though class had already started..." the teacher noted, "Time is a precious resource... you lot aren't very rational, are you?"

The class remained silent, as just like how Izuku felt awkward around the bubbly girl and Ida, the rest of the class felt awkward with their teacher.

"Well anyways, I'm your homeroom teacher, Shota Aizawa. Pleased to meet you." the teacher, now revealed to be named 'Shota Aizawa' stated, "Now... change into your gym clothes and head out to the grounds."

Heading out to the grounds together, one student with what everyone assumed to be a Mutant-type quirk was already out at the pitch early. That wasn't what the students questioned however...

"A test... of our quirks?!"

"But what about the Entrance Ceremony, or guidance sessions?!" the bubbly girl questioned.

"No time to waste on that stuff if you guys wanna be heroes." The scruffy looking teacher noted, "After all, U.A. is notoriously known for its… 'freestyle', education system, and that freedom is given to us teachers as well."

"Just what did you have in mind, Mr. Aizawa?" a girl with jet black hair who had it tied into a ponytail asked.

"Softball throwing, the standard long jump, a 50 meter dash, endurance running, grip strength, side stepping, upperbody training, and the seated toe touch." Aizawa listed, "You all did these in middle school as standard tests with no quirks allowed."

Aizawa paused, letting the students catch their breaths for only a moment before continuing, "Our country still insists on prohibiting quirk usage to make sure those with and without strong quirks see each other as 'equal'. Pretending that these metrics are true is irrational."

Aizawa turned his attention to the strongest student in the Entrance Exam, besides Tony Tony Chopper, who had no existing middle school records.

"Midoriya, how far could you throw a softball in middle school?" Aizawa questioned.

"T-twenty nine meters." Izuku noted.

"Great, now try it with your quirk. Do whatever you need to... just don't leave that circle." Aizawa ordered.

Izuku then walked into the circle, gulping. Being put on the spot like this made him nervous... but this was just a feeling he had to learn to tame and conquer.

"Give it all you got."

Attempting to calm his violently beating heart, Izuku shut his eyes and breathed in slowly, and then after holding his breath, breathed out. Opening his eyes, he was ready.

"One for All, Full Cowling..." Izuku thought, "FIVE PERCENT!"

An aura concentrated of green electricity materialized around Izuku, which instantly caused Bakugo's eyes to widen.

"Eh?"

"STRAW HAT..." Izuku thought, stretching his arm back and prepared to throw the softball.

Jumping into the air, Izuku spun around to accumulate momentum, and then when he was facing forwards, unleashed his throw.

"SMASH!"

A small air pressure wave was generated after Izuku's throw. It wasn't massive or anything like that, but it was certainly proved that he was a superhuman... as further proven by just how far into the sky the ball went.

"It's important for us to know our limits." Aizawa stated, pulling out his phone, "That's the first rational step to figuring out what kind of heroes you'll all be."

Aizawa showed Izuku's results on his phone, as '650m' was the number that popped up.

"Woah! 650 meters?!"

"Man, so the hero course is for real!"

Amongst all the cheers of praise from his classmates, there was one person who was singing a very different tune.

"EXPLAIN YOURSELF, DEKU!" Bakugo shouted at Izuku, leaping into the air and rushing towards him with his quirk... but a moment later, he fell to the ground, his quirk no longer working.

"You... just what the hell are you doing?" Aizawa questioned, angry, "If you have a grudge with this kid, settle it somewhere else. My class isn't the place."

"Oh... I should have noticed it when I saw the binding cloth around his neck!" Izuku observed, "His quirk... he must be the Erasure Hero: Eraserhead!"

"And another thing... stop trying to use your quirk already… I'm getting dry eye over here!" Aizawa muttered, confirming Izuku's suspicions.

Bakugo just scoffed, got up, and turned around, no longer approaching Izuku. Aizawa muttered something about this being a "waste of his time".

"How the hell… even before he got his quirk, he found a way to be more than just a pebble in my path… but now…" Bakugo thought, remembering their past together, and the moment Izuku stood up to him prior, only being able to repeat, "He wasn't supposed to be more than a PEBBLE!"

"So... if you're following in the footsteps of that delinquent, it seems you all think you're big shots since you got admitted into U.A." the teacher surmised, "Let's add a little extra kick to this exercise then… whoever has the lowest score in these eight events, they'll be deemed 'hopeless', and get expelled."

"WHAAAAAATTTTTT?!"

The students of Class 1-A all were extremely surprised by Aizawa's assertion, as they all hoped that they wouldn't be the ones who found themselves kicked out of class on their very first day.

Among them all, the one most likely to be expelled was a girl with a red streak of hair and scissor blade, Ryuko Matoi, who just smiled.

"Since I'm quirkless… I'm probably the star candidate for that expulsion." she thought, "But… I'll prove them all wrong… and find a way to get strong enough to become a hero... and discover just who killed my Dad!"

"Welcome to U.A.'s hero course." Aizawa stated, a sadistic grin appearing on his face, "If you thought that this course was going to be all sunshine and rainbows, you're dead wrong. We'll wrung you through the wringer until you wish you were dead."

The first event was the 50-meter dash.

Initially, Tenya Ida's time of 3.04 seconds was the front runner, but that all changed when the Students Numbered 17 and 18 made their way to the starting line.

"DEKU!" Bakugo shouted at the boy who was right beside him, "I'M GONNA KICK YOUR ASS, YOU GOT THAT?!"

"Uh... try your best!" Izuku awkwardly stated.

Bakugo faced forwards after this, unsure of what he was expecting from Deku, as Izuku did the same. Both prepared for the race which was about to begin.

"Five percent…" Izuku thought, activating his aura and getting into a stance to run. Bakugo smirked, excited by the chance that he would have to defeat Deku... but that chance wasn't nearly as great as it seemed.

The instant the race began, Izuku began to tap his feet rapidly on the ground.

"SHAVE!"

Suddenly, in the blink of an eye, Izuku made his way to the end of the track.

"1.02 seconds!" Aizawa shouted.

Bakugo was shocked by Izuku's results, causing him to stumble and slow down momentarily.

Aizawa next shouted out Bakugo's results, "4.09 seconds!"

"W-what the hell?!" Bakugo thought, "How... how is he so fast?!"

"Woah! You're fast, Midoriya!" Ida yelled out in surprise after Izuku finished the race.

"It was nothing!" Izuku noted, "It's all in a technique I found out… you could probably use it too! All you've gotta do is kick your feet off the ground as many times as you can in an instant… you could even do it while quirkless… it's called Shave!"

"How... how?!" Bakugo growled.

Bakugo wasn't the only one who found Izuku's sudden burst of speed surprising, however.

"I thought he was suspicious when he didn't utilize his full power… but this is even beyond that." Aizawa thought, "How does that kid know how to use of one of the Six Powers?"

While Izuku's result was the star of the show, that's not to say there weren't some other impressive records.

Directly after Izuku, the nineteenth Momo Yaoyorozo and the twentieth Ryuko Matoi raced. Momo utilized her quirk to create a scooter, which she was able to use to get a time of 4.5 seconds, while Ryuko ran her ass off, getting a time of only 6.76 seconds.

After that, the twenty-first student, Tony Tony Chopper, went all on his lonesome, but got a time of 2.5 seconds by using his Walk Point, showcasing the reindeer are deceptively fast runners.

The next event was grip strength. Ryuko Matoi yet again underperformed in this event, only being able to lift 67KG.

Meanwhile, Izuku was able to lift about 140KG, and Chopper in his Arm Point was able to set a record, being able to lift the maximum available weight, 1000kg!

In the third event, the Standing Long Jump, Chopper easily cleared the sandbox available with Jump Point, while Izuku did so easily as well with Shave. Every event, Bakugo would be getting more and more furious in the background at Izuku… had he really hid his quirk from him for this long?!

In the fourth event, sidestepping, Momo Yaoyorozu was the frontrunner due to the creative use of her quirk, creating an electric wheel which allowed her to accumulate a number of side steps at a rate nobody else could match.

Fifth was the ball throw. Here, Chopper used his Heavy Point, being able to throw the softball an asinine amount of distance. Meanwhile, while Izuku had already gone at the beginning of the test, Aizawa forced him to go again.

"That ability you used to dispatch the Zero Pointer in the Entrance Exam…" Aizawa began, shocking Bakugo due to the realization that Izuku was still holding back, "Use that… it's not fair if you're holding back."

Izuku, with this in mind, came up with the same idea as in the original story, to throw the ball with only one of his fingers, thus not breaking his entire arm in the process, impressing Aizawa.

"Seems the reason he can't use his quirk at 100% is because he breaks his limbs by doing so." Aizawa noted, comparing it internally to a child getting used to their power, "But... that still doesn't explain how he knows the Shave technique. I'll have to do my research on him."

Sixth came the long-distance running, in which Izuku wasn't able to do quite as well due to his injured finger, but still did alright with five percent of One for All. Chopper ended up setting the record with his Walk Point form.

For the seventh event, there was the seated toe touch, which Momo Yaoyorozu aced in, and finally, there were sit ups… but unfortunately, in not a single one of these events did one student, Ryuko Matoi, give a standout performance due to her lack of a quirk.

"Dammit!" she thought, "It's just the first freaking day, and I'm already gonna get kicked out?!"

"Moving along… Now it's time for the test results!" Aizawa announced, "Your total scores aren't just based on a linear scale, as they're meant to test the versatility and strength of your quirks… explaining further would be a waste of time, so all you get are your final placements. Also, I was lying about expelling someone."

Aizawa muttered that last part under his breath, surprising all the students, except Momo.

"That was a rational deception… meant to bring out the best in you!"

Everyone expressed themselves in different ways, as Chopper was in complete shock, Ryuko breathed a sigh of relief, and Momo Yaoyorozu simply said, "Well of course it was a lie, it didn't take much to figure that out."

Aizawa offered Midoriya a slip to the nurse's office due to his broken fingers, and afterwards, the scores were revealed.

Quick Author's Note

I just wanted to explain a little bit how the Quirk Apprehension Test is scored, at least in this FanFic.

While the scores you get are important, they aren't the end all be all, otherwise, both Bakugo and Ida would outplace Momo. The real test is how you're able to creatively apply your quirk to make the best use of your enviornment.

For example, Kirishima had very poor placement on most of the tests, but due to how he used his quirk creatively (from using the increased mass from Hardening to bring himself to the ground faster during sit ups or the seated toe touch, to utilizing it to get to the ground faster and propel himself forwards faster by proxy in the 50-meter dash), he was able to get a higher score than he otherwise would have, even beating out the above average scorer, Uraraka.

Of course, since Ryuko has no quirk to utilize to her advantage... this means that she was almost instantly placed in last!

Ryuko was shocked… sure, she did bad, but some of the people she got outplaced by… there was no way she did worse than them!

"The threat of expulsion... I hope that sense of dread you felt showed you just what you'll have to overcome in the real world." Aizawa stated, "Anyhow, your documents about the curriculum and such are all back in the classroom. Go give them a look."

Aizawa then walked away, as Ryuko felt conflicted as to just how she should feel about this exercise. Aizawa looked back at her, and decided to do something he'd probably regret later.

"Ryuko, come and see me real quick." Aizawa said drowsily.

Unsure of just what Aizawa wanted, Ryuko was surprised for a moment, but quickly went to Aizawa while the rest of her class left behind her.

"Yes, sir?" Ryuko asked somewhat nervously.

"I know this isn't a secret to you… but you're quirkless." Aizawa stated, "And this test is specifically designed to see just how well you use your quirk… without one, you never stood a chance in this test."

"Yeah? Just where are you going with this?" Ryuko replied with a hint of aggression.

"I didn't expel you today because I saw your skills during the Entrance Exam, but you're going to have to work a lot harder than you did today if you want to survive at U.A.." Aizawa stated, as he mustered out a sigh, "In order to keep up... you're gonna have to put in more than double the work of your classmates. I think we can come to an arrangement... so what do you say?"

"H-huh?!" Ryuko questioned, unsure of what Aizawa was saying, "Are you a pervert of something? The hell are you talking about?"

U.A. was the greatest hero school in the world... and yet despite all that, the fact that Ryuko Matoi, someone quirkless, was able to not only get into the school, but do as well as she did on the Entrance Exam, was bewildering.

Due to Ryuko's skills, Aizawa ended up researching her, and found out about just what had happened to her. She never had any mother to speak of, and her father was murdered at a young age... Aizawa knew that it was entirely possible that he'd still have to expel Ryuko someday, but until that day happened, he decided to be the best teacher he could to her.

"No... my quirk also means I have to rely on pure skill alone in a fight, like you do while quirkless." Aizawa explained, "So... if you'll allow me, I'd like to teach you independently on how to fight."

"Jeez, I'm tired..." Izuku mumbled.

"Your injury on your finger was pretty bad… Are you sure you don't want me to look at it?" Chopper questioned.

"Nah, I think I'm fine... but thanks, Chopper..."

Coming from behind, Ida put a hand on Izuku's shoulder, bringing his attention to the boy who was behind him.

"Midoriya! How's your finger?"

"Ida! It's all fine due to Recovery Girl… man her quirk's amazing." Izuku said, recalling Recovery Girl's words about how he would die if he kept overusing his quirk.

"My quirk... as much as it's a gift, I can't help but feel that I'm nothing but a burden to it!" Izuku thought, "I need to learn to control my power, so that I can save everyone... from Japan to the Grand Line!"

"...but Mr. Aizawa sure had us fooled… he made me think, 'so this is how it is at the top'... seeing as how our own instructor deceived us like that!" Ida said, as Izuku smiled at Ida's previous scariness now being apparent to him as merely his extremely serious nature.

"You three! Are you headed to the station? Wait up!" Uraraka shouted from behind the trio of Izuku, Ida, and Chopper.

"Ah, Infinity Girl!" Ida said.

"You're Chopper, you're Ida, and you're… um… Deku, right!" Uraraka recalled.

"Deku?" Izuku was confused, before he realized the origin of the name and said, "Oh! That's not actually my name… Deku's just a name that Kacchan uses to make fun of me!"

"Oh… alright then. It's just that 'Deku' kinda sounds like the type of name you'd use to pump someone up… like 'Do your best!' or something like that!" Uraraka explained.

"Well, uh, I don't mind the name, so you can call me that… if you like of course!" Izuku awkwardly said.

"Deku it is then!" Uraraka cheered, as her mind then switched tracks, "Oh yeah! All you guys were also super awesome on the test earlier today! Hard to believe all you guys got in the top 10, especially you Chopper, you getting first place again was something I didn't expect!"

"Aw, you big dummy! You think that complimenting me is gonna make me happy or something, not a chance!" Chopper chanted, dancing in the process.

"If you don't mind me asking, Chopper, did you perhaps undergo any form of training before school began?" Ida asked, as Chopper's face quickly broke. He had no idea what to say... he couldn't just tell them that he was from the Grand Line, and he certainly couldn't tell them that he was a priate!

"Oh, yeah! Chopper's actually from the Grand Line, so he did some training around there before coming to school!" Izuku interjected, explaining awkwardly.

"Thank you Izuku!" Chopper thought through tears which only existed internally.

"The Grand Line, eh?" Ida said inquisitively, as this quartet walked home peacefully… unaware that tomorrow, an event would occur that was beyond what the scope that any of them had ever experienced (well, besides Chopper, I guess).

While the students of U.A. were presently warming up to their high school careers, another group seemed to take an interest in the high school for a different reason.

A faint moonlight illuminated the pristine room which our scene is located within, piercing through a wall of glass. Basking in this moonlight was a fine lady with blue hair, who with her presence, was able to add elegance to even the simple act of drinking tea.

"Lady Satsuki."

A man with noticeably lighter blue hair entered the room.

"What is it, Inumuta?" Satsuki responded.

"I've come across some information I figured you should know."

"So? Out with it then."

Inumuta cleared his throat, readying himself to make his report.

"To make things short, I broke into U.A.'s records earlier today. Information about the high school's training methods has been added to my archives already for us to implement, but that's not what caught my eye." Inumuta noted, "Within the hero course this year was one, 'Tony Tony Chopper', a pirate from the Grand Line worth fifty berries."

"Where are you going with this, Inumuta?"

"That pirate is a member of the Straw Hat Pirates… the very same crew which Nico Robin currently pledged her allegiance to."

Due to hearing Nico Robin's name, Satsuki parted her lips slightly in surprise. But a moment later, her mouth changed to an idle one again.

"I see." Satsuki noted, beginning to stand up to go look outside her window.

"What are your orders, milady?"

Satsuki paused for a moment, staring outside of her window.

"We don't have time to deal with such trivial matters." Satsuki responded, "Nico Robin is my mother's business to deal with."

"Yes, I agree milady, however, considering the fact that she stole-"

"So has All for One." Satsuki responded.

"So why don't we go after them both? We're more than powerful enough." Inumuta suggested.

"It's simple." Satsuki responded, "The more people get their hands on the life fibers, the more they will fear their power… and fear of their power is exactly what we want."

END OF CHAPTER NOTES

Here we are! Chapter 9 is done!

This is probably the chapter I edited the most from original draft to release, since I believe past me was super bored when writing this arc (something I'm sure is going to come back to bite me during the first two rounds of the Sports Festival arc, which I recall being super bored when writing... I might even rewrite major sections of that arc, actually).

You'll also notice just how similar this chapter was to the original Quirk Apprehension Test, something which is intentionally done. Events within the U.A. Saga of this story are going to gradually branch off from their canon counterpart until they become COMPLETELY different from the original story, at which point FanFic original arcs will be on the table.

I'm quite tired atm, so I'm jsut gonna bring this over to the...

[SHOCKING REVIEW SHOWCASE]

Thank you for your kind words, KnyFan! I'm glad you're enjoying my story so far, and I hope you'll enjoy what I have in store for the future! Thank you for the luck regarding my stories continuation as well!

A lot of questions from your review, MaximumRhapsody, are also already answered in this chapter.

For one, Ryuko and Chopper aren't going to be split up; both are going to be in Class 1-A. The reason for this is because this fanfiction is adapting One Piece and My Hero Academia, two works which have way, wayyyyyy too many characters.

In interest of making the best story possible without clutter, I intend for the main cast of KHO to be squished down, leaving more room to focus on them. This means that Class 1-B, among others, will be getting very little screen time in order to compensate, though we will still see them in the Sports Festival and such.

Satsuki also is still undergoing the same actions as in Kill La Kill canon... but, she doesn't necessarily have a large interest in U.A. at this current moment. Will her interest evolve and develop in U.A. as the series goes on however? It's possible!

That's all I have time for today! Tune in next time on Kill One Hero where the Battle Trial Arc will kick off!
