Chapter 32: Father And Daughter

It has been a few weeks since Rosie hatched from her egg and now she can speak full sentences to everyone, thanks to her older cousin Bia who helped her speak. Bia was the teacher for the Blue macaw's tribe school. She was growing up so fast into a very mature female macaw. Garth was very proud of her. She was still daddy's little girl. Garth enjoyed having a chick and know he have a kid to take care of.

Garth don't want his daughter to be in danger. The past remind him of humans when he was captured.

One morning, Holly just came back from getting her family breakfast and as she flew to the hollow. She saw her mate and her daughter playing together.

"Okay you two and now let's eat." Holly told her family.

"Yes mom." Rosie replied and got off her father.

"Having fun with your daughter I see." Holly said to Garth.

"Yes honey." Garth blushed and Holly gave a kiss on her mate's cheek.

The three sat down and ate their apples. Rosie wanted to asked her parents if it was okay to spend the day with her older cousins Bia, Carla, Tiago, Belle, Crystal, Junior, Max, Cadence, Eddie, and Rosalia.

"Hey mom and dad. Can I ask you something?" Rosie asked slowly as she felt a bit nervous to ask.

"Sure sweetie. What is it?" Garth replied.

"Is it okay If I go spend the day with my older cousins." Rosie asked, nervous because she felt her parents would probably want to go with her to make sure she is safe. Her parents don't know how to respond to this.

"I don't know sweetie. There is a lot of dangers out there and you can get hurt." Garth said in a worried tone.

"Well sweetie. I think it's okay for you to spend time with your older cousins." Holly answered her daughter's question.

"Thanks mom." Rosie smiled but Garth is worried.

"Anytime. Be back before dinner." Holly said.

The family finished breakfast. The little female chick got ready to leave to see her older cousins. Her father stopped her.

"Are you sure you don't want me to take you there sweetie? I don't want you getting hurt." Garth asked. He is still uncomfortable with this.

"I'm sure dad. I will be fine." Rosie told her father.

"Alright, please be careful." Garth told his daughter.

"I will daddy. See you later." Rosie said.

Garth watched his daughter fly off. He sighed sadly.

"Don't worry honey, she will be fine." Holly told her mate.

"I hope so. Rosie is my only daughter. I don't anything to happen to her." Garth said.

Meanwhile, Rosie arrived at her Uncle Roberto's hollow where she saw her older cousin Rosalia eating breakfast with her parents. Roberto noticed his niece is standing there.

"Oh hey Rosie." Roberto greeted his niece. "What brings you here?"

"I was wondering if I could spend time alone with my cousins." Rosie answered him.

"Sure let her finish eating breakfast." Roberto told her.

"Sure. I want to spend time with Bia, Carla, Tiago, Belle, Crystal, Junior, Max, Cadence, and Eddie as well." Rosie said.

"Cool. Bia, Carla, and Tiago planned to go to see Cadence and Eddie's hollow today to hang out." Roberto said.

As Rosalia finished eating her breakfast. Roberto and Liz told her to be safe. The two exits their hollow. They see Bia, Carla, Tiago, Belle, Crystal, Junior, and Max. They are on their way to Alex's hollow. They went to Alex's hollow and see them eating breakfast. Alex saw his niece and her cousins standing there.

"Hey guys." Alex greeted his nieces and nephews. "What brings you here?"

"We decide to spend time with our cousins Eddie and Cadence." Rosie answered her uncle question.

"Okay." Alex said.

Cadence and Eddie finished eating breakfast. Alex and Lily told them their cousins want to hang out with them.

"What game should we play?" Rosie asked her older cousins.

"How about we play hide and seek?" Tiago answered her question.

"Good idea Tiago. We wants to be it." Rosie asked her cousins.

"I will be it." Eddie said.

While the ten little chicks were playing along themselves. The human was watching the little birds play with each other through a pair of binoculars. It was a poacher and he smiled seeing the wonderful prize he was looking at. He plans to capture a bird and become rich. He never saw these kinds of birds before and knew this would be his chance to make money. In the Amazon, poachers managed to do illegal activities.

"Look like today is my lucky day." The poacher chuckled evilly as he prepared his nets and cage.

Meanwhile, Eddie found his sister at her hiding spot after a couple of minutes.

"Found you sis." Eddie shouted and Cadence laughed.

Eddie and Cadence found Bia, Carla, Tiago, Belle, Crystal, Junior, Max, and Rosalia from their hiding spot.

Meanwhile, Rosie was hiding in the bushes. She was very well hidden.

"Eddie never going to find me in here." Rosie giggled as she stayed quiet.

Meanwhile she heard some loud steps and they were getting closer. She must admit defeat when Eddie finds her. Rosie had no idea who or what that loud sound. She had a jump scare as the bushes was opened to reveal the poacher.

"Well, well, you are alone but one should be good. I like you." The poacher said with his net managed to capture Rosie. Rosie tried to run away. "You are going to get me a lot of money." The poacher smiled evilly as he looked at the frightened young chick who was so scared.

Cadence, Eddie, Bia, Carla, Tiago, Belle, Crystal, Junior, and Max arrived just in time from behind some bushes to see the poacher throwing Rosie into the cage. Eddie is thinking about ready to charge at the poacher.

"Are you crazy Eddie?" Bia whispered to her cousin.

"We can't let Rosie be captured." Eddie said.

"I know that. We don't want to be captured too." Bia said.

"We need to get Uncle Beto, Uncle Garfie, Uncle Blu, Uncle Banjo, and dad. They will know what to do." Cadence said.

"Great idea Cadence." Rosalia said.

The ten chicks fly faster to Blu's hollow. Blu saw his kids, his nephews, and his nieces. They are out of breath.

"What wrong guys?" Blu asked.

"Rosie has been taken." Cadence answered

"By who?" Garth asked, scared of what happened.

"This human caught her in a net and put her in a cage." Eddie told the adults.

"That's not good." Garth said.

"We need help." Blu said.

"Good idea Blu." Roberto said.

"We have to rescue her." Banjo said.

"Banjo we need help." Garth said.

Blu, Banjo, Garth, and Roberto got some volunteers to help. Blu, Banjo, Garth, and Roberto were off to find Rosie before something bad happened. Garth told Katie about what happened to Rosie. Katie got volunteers to join the search from the Scarlet macaw tribe to join the Blue macaws in finding Rosie.

Rosie was in a cage, crying her eyes, and she pleaded for her parents to come and save her. The poacher smiled evilly at the chick and he didn't care at all about the chick crying. The poacher was thinking about all the money he will get.

"Daddy! Daddy!" Rosie shouted to get their attention.

"Hold on sweetie, we are coming." Garth shouted back as he dived down followed by everyone else.

The poacher heard a loud squawking of Rosie and he turned around to see the flock of macaws angrily charming at him.

"Ahhh!" The poacher shouted as he started running for his life from these angry birds.

The poacher who was a bit sweaty from the heat and the running he did. The poacher dropped the cage. Alex, Garth, and Roberto went to the cage to get Rosie out while Blu and the rest of the macaws are charging at the poacher, making sure he was out of the macaw territory for good. Alex, Garth, and Roberto got the cage Rosie was in, relieved that she was safe.

"Daddy!" Rosie shouted, tears starting to come out of her eyes.

"Don't worry sweetie. I will get you out." Alex said to his niece as he he used his talons to unlock the cage to free the little chick.

The cage door was open. Rosie ran out and into her father's wings, crying her eyes out. Garth just hugged his daughter very tightly. Garth is not going to yell at her because she didn't keep her promise of being safe but Garth couldn't blame her.

"It's okay sweetie. Daddy is here and you are safe now." Garth said as he still hug his daughter.

Garth took his daughter back to their hollow. Garth's mate enter the hollow.

"What happened?" Holly asked her mate.

"Rosie was captured by a human. Blu and the other macaws defeated him. Alex, Roberto, and I free Rosie." Garth explained to his mate.

"I'm so sorry daddy. I don't know what I was thinking. I should've had listened to you." Rosie said as she was crying.

"Honey it's okay. I am not mad at you." Garth said.

"I am not okay dad. I was so scared. I thought I would never see everyone again." Rosie said as tears streaming down her cheeks.

Garth picked up his crying daughter and hug her. He knew exactly how she was feeling. He remembered when he was captured by poachers, he was so scared of poachers. He still had nightmares. The poachers took him to France and Garth did not know the way home to the Amazon. Garth had a chance to fly back to the Amazon. Everyone was happy to see Garth was alive.

"Sweetie, I think it's time I tell you about my past." Garth told his daughter.

"What is your past dad?" Rosie asked.

"Well it all started when I was young." Garth started the story while Holly was outside of the hollow but listening to the story.

Garth told his story of his past to his daughter while Rosie felt very sorry for her father. Garth was comfortable telling his daughter of his past and his daughter now know the same fate he suffered. Garth now is going to make sure his daughter was safe and wouldn't want to lose her.
