Episode 2: Attack of the Plemlings
Everyone flowed through the vortex eager to fend off the bloodthirsty monsters attacking the nightclub. In a matter of seconds, the group found themselves back in the nightclub, the monsters have already broken in either through the ground, through the doors, even in the air and water entries! The monsters were in all shapes and sizes, some were two-eyed, one-eyed, three-eyed, five-eyed, seven-eyed, and eight-eyed. Some were regular plants with vines, some had pod encasers, some had thorns, some shot out laser beams, some sprayed thorns out of their bodies, some flew and drop pod bombs, some swam, some released sleeping gas, and some could even change their appearances. All were ravenous and bloodthirsty, sending the patrons and staff into a screaming panic fearing for their lives, some tried to fend them off (barely), and some have lost their lives, reduced to nothing more than skeletons after getting eaten whole and alive, both good and bad characters, some bad like the Big Bad Wolf and good like some of Cinderella's mice friends.
Without wasting another second, and with fire in everyone's eyes and hearts, the group split up and dispersed to fend off the fiendish plants, whether it was whacking, slashing, ramming, biting, and other forms. A few minutes later, Zack Burner himself arrived out of the dark vortex, drew out his sword, and shouted "Flame Blade!" causing his blade to become engulfed in flame, and he started slashing around the monsters, igniting them instantly, reducing them to ash in a matter of seconds, all patrons and the formerly captured couldn't take their eyes off the stranger, vastly different from themselves; a real life, flesh-and-blood person in a cartoon world. After a while, all the monsters in the nightclub were defeated, and when that was done, Zack raised a fist in the air, then twirled his sword around, which then unflamed and he sheathed it, everyone cheered for the heroes, and the stranger. No sooner than a few seconds, Zack jumped up onto the stage and reached for the microphone.
"Everyone here alright?" he asked the audience. Everyone nodded or spoke yes, including the group that he captured.
"That's good…..but don't rest now….because soon the Plemlings, that's what those horrible things I saved you all from, will be back, but most importantly beware their master…." Everyone's relief became worry as Zack told them this.
"This nightclub will probably be the only safe place for now, outside isn't so, those things can attack you at anytime anywhere. And if you're all wondering how I am different from all of you, that will have to wait another day, for now, I advise you to follow my advice and ignore my eccentricities…."
In a few seconds, the power went out, everyone thought it was another attack, and somehow the projector itself sprang to life as if it had a mind of its own, the screen behind Zack came on and a face appeared. The face was oval shaped, with eight red eyes like a spider and four curved teeth, laughing maniacally.
"Shanbahac!" replied Zack.
"That's right impudent humans and animals, the Plemlings rule the Earth!" He laughed evilly.
"You'll pay for putting my own mother in a coma you fiend!" snarled Zack with a scorching fury.
"Rage all you want Zack, you and your petty, puny bunch of followers aren't going to stop me!" The group Zack previously caught heard all this and began to feel the same raging fury Zack had.
"We'll all stop you Shanbahac! Strength in numbers always prevails!" shouted Moana, the others nodded in agreement.
"Bah! I'll crush and devour you all, me and my own armies will dominate the earth!" With that the insidious face disappeared from the screen. The group caught up to Zack on the stage, hoping for more answers.
"So that's why you recruited us, to help you stop those abominations?" asked Mickey.
"Precisely, don't underestimate these things, they're very ruthless and cunning." informed Zack. "Lucky I brought one other spirit to grant some of you a spectacular gift…" he continued, smiling. He pulled out another flask, opened it. Another gaseous form emerged from the flask, and began to take shape of a beautiful Japanese woman with her hair in a tidy style, wearing a kimono. "Everyone, this is Sakura Nagaki, one of my two mentors, she knows a lot of things."
"Konichiwa, defenders." she bowed to the group, who in return bowed back as proper courtesy. "From what I have heard, you will need some magical assistance in your battle to save Earth from this ghastly evil. I can supply some of you with magical powers, those who do will each get 2 spells." Sakura floated over to Moana and raised her hand, and a beam of soft blue energy came out, then surrounded Moana in the form of an aura which then became a transparent form of a waterfall.
"You Moana now possess water spells, Hydro Surge on offensive spell and Healing Spring a support spell. To cast the first, point your oar at an enemy and shout it out, a stream of water will spray the adversary. For the second, just raised your right hand to heal yourself, to heal another look at another and do the same action." Moana raised her oar with a broad, triumphant smile. Then Sakura floated over the Simba and Nala and then raised both hands, one glowed green the other glowed brown which then surrounded the two lions, then a transparent rock surrounded Simba for a few seconds, simultaneously a transparent form of an earthquake surrounded Nala.
"You two now possess Rock and Earth spells respectively. For Simba, Rock Shot and Harden Body, to do the first spell, shout out the spell and then slam both paws on the ground and a rock will come out of the ground, for the second tuck both paws inward towards your body, look at another to cast on another. For Nala, Earthshaker and Gaia's Blessing. The actions are the same as your king." The two lions roared triumphantly at their new powers. Sakura then floated over to Donald Duck, held out a hand, which glowed yellow, then transferred to him. A projection of a lightning storm engulfed the duck.
"You Donald now possess Lightning spells, Lightning Strike and Haster. To do the first, point your spear at an enemy and call out the spell, for the second, sweep your hands upwards." Donald quacked in delight at his new magical abilities. The ghost girl then floated over to Aladdin and held out a hand, which glowed a grey aura then went into Aladdin, a projection of a tornado enveloped him.
"You Aladdin now possess Wind spells, Squall Gust and Tornado Floater. To perform the first spell hold out your scimitar, point it at your foe and call it out. For the second spell raise your hand upwards calling out the spell and you or perhaps others will float for a bit." Aladdin raised his scimitar triumphantly at it, smiling. She then turned to the two mice, and held up both hands, one had a black aura, the other had a white aura which then engulfed the couple. A projection of moving shadows engulfed Mickey while a projection of sunlight engulfed Minnie.
"You two mice now have Dark spells and Light spells respectively. Mickey your spells are Shadow Skull and Dark Cloak. To perform the first spell cup your hands out in front of you and call your attack out. For the second, swing your hand over your head calling out your spell, to de-cloak, say "Uncloak". Minnie, your spells are Light Ray and Cure Aura. To perform the first spell hold out an open hand at your foe and call out your attack, to perform the second spell, hold up both hands, and call out your spell. That's all the magic I can supply you with, good luck in your battle against his evil!" With that, Sakura floated back into the flask.
"Hey why don't I get any?!" Goofy replied in anger.
"Yeah me too?" added Mulan, Zack smiled.
"Do not worry, you have great abilities to compensate that" he turned to Goofy, you possess great hand-to-hand combat…." he then turned to Mulan "and you've got your pyrotechnics and dragon." Just then a strange beeping was heard, Zack turned his head to the left, reached into his pocket and pulled out a strange electronic tool with a short handle, a small box with a screen and a few buttons, and two cone-like antennae. As he pulled it out he pressed the left button, which then displayed four red arrows and a message that said "strongest", and beeped furiously.
"What is that?" asked Mickey.
"This is a Threat Detector, it detects a threat within a 2 mile radius….looks like we're going to have another attack, everyone get ready!" Hearing this, the group readied their weapons and developed looks of burning desire to get at the attackers, Zack put away the device and drew his sword. In a matter of seconds more plemlings emerged from the ground all around the nightclub. The group charged at the monsters, all eager to try out their new magical spells.
First Moana spotted a few spider-like plemlings (called Arachnos), harassing Ariel and her friends. She pointed her oar at the monsters and shouted "Hydro Surge!" As Sakura had promised, a stream of water shot out of the oar knocking away the plemlings.
Next, Donald spotted four regular plemlings (called commonouses) surrounding his nephews. Pointing his spear at the monsters he squawked, "Chain Lightning!" A bolt of lightning shot out of the end of the spear and then electrocuted the four monsters until they crumpled over charred.
Simba and Nala spotted two flying plemlings (petalicouses) and two five eyed gas emitting ones (opiuses) cornering Timon and Pumbaa, attempting to eat them.
"Rock Shot!" shouted Simba, slamming his two paws on the ground, as the paws connected, a large rock shot out of the ground hitting both of the flying foes.
"Earth Shaker!" shouted Nala, slamming her paws down, which instantly caused a minor earthquake, knocking over the two upright monsters, which then had Rajah and Pluto pounce on those two and then shredded them.
Four more plemlings emerged from the ground, all of these had one eye, yet had different abilities, one had some hands (cyclopsises) the other had thorns on their vines, at the end were razor sharp crab-like claws and could shoot lasers out of their eyes (dipterclops), Mickey and Minnie stepped forward. Mickey cupped his hands forwards and shouted "Shadow Skull!" A skull with an aura of blackness shout out of his hands and got one of the monsters. Minnie held out an open hand and shouted "Light Ray!" As she did a beam of light emitted from her hand and cast the monster out of the way. Aladdin stepped forward and pointed his scimitar at the remaining monsters, and shouted "Squall Gust!" a strong burst of wind emitted out of the scimitar blowing away the remaining monsters, the monster fled away. Four more monsters emerged from the ground, these had seven eyes and could spray thorns out from their bodies (needlae), when in a Y- position. Everyone took cover under the tables as they prepared the spray, a few including hyena Banzai and Gaston weren't so fortunate as they got sprayed with needles. Mulan stepped forward and with Mushu's help, launched some fireworks which destroyed the monsters in a flash. Everyone in the nightclub smiled at the recent repelling. Suddenly the nightclub went dark again, and the screen flicked on again showing the face of evil again.
"Not bad, but I'm afraid you're now all out of luck!" Shanbahac laughed evilly. "Say hello to my seven deadly minions!" and then disappeared from the screen, the lights went back on. Just a few seconds later, Zack's threat detector alarmed, which he pulled out, which then directed him to up above.
Crashing through the ceiling was a saucer shaped spider-like tanks with a glass dome being piloted by a commonous plemling laughing maniacally. Out of a sliding door in its center emerged a roped attached net which caught the dalmatians, who all howled in fright as they were caught, Zack rushed forward with his sword and cut the net loose. Then two doors on the underside of the mech, opened up releasing two arachnos to attack, Simba and Nala pounced on the two plants.
"Duck! Zap the tank!" shouted Zack, Donald nodded in agreement, pointing his spear at the tank and shouted "Lightning Strike!" In an instant, lightning shot out of Donald's spear and electrocuted the tank including the driver inside, until the vehicle generated a big explosion, sending parts all over the place. Everyone cheered, but not for long as the threat detector beeped again this time coming from one of the walls, in the distant corner Shan Yu, felt as if he was stabbed from behind and fell over dead, revealing his killer: an eight foot tall plemling with razor sharp leafs like swords, and two shooters that emitted poison barbs, and a flower petals around his head, there was an evil smile on his face.
"Who's next? Come and get it!" jeered the plemling in Japanese. Mulan with Mushu, plus Aladdin and Zack stepped forward, swords out, and looks of fury on their faces. "Oh goody, three times the fun!" he added in Japanese, shooting out two barbs which Mulan and Aladdin ducked to dodge and then swung their blades at the foul monster, it turned into a two-way duel until they were both knocked down, but Mushu breathed some fire at the monster before he could deliver a double blow, which set him ablaze, giving the duo the chance they needed to rise up and perform a double strike, cutting off the sword vines, and then Zack swung his burning blade at the monster, igniting him instantly, until he was ashes in a matter of seconds.
A scream from somewhere alerted the group, they turned their heads and found Ariel, Flounder, and Scuttle being attacked by a 30 foot long female snake plemling. Moana stepped forward batting at the serpent's head with her oar. The snake swung her big tail at her which she dodged, but Donald and Goofy weren't so fortunate as the blow sent them flying into the wall, knocking them unconscious. Moana returned the favor, pointing her oar at the monster, and shouted "Hydro Surge!", a stream of water emitted out of her oar and got the snake in the mouth drowning it.
Zack's threat detector beeped again, this time it directed him to the dead center of the nightclub, in the ground. Up emerged two larger than average commonouses, one male one female.
"Your party…." sneered the male monster.
"...is crashed!" added the female monster. Zack readied himself with his sword.
"Wait Zack!" shouted Minnie. "Let me and Mickey take care of these two jokers!" she added, with Mickey coming up. Purse at the ready and Mickey in a boxing stance, the two mice prepared to face the duo, striking together, vines met fists and purse, like a dance, hitting, blocking, and dodging. Eventually, the plemling duo got stunned by the mice, who then readied their magic attacks, and hurled their respective spells at the opposing duo, who then slumped over defeated.
After a few seconds of relieve, a stray laser beam shot out of nowhere between the two, narrowly missing them, causing the mice to jump and everyone looked up in the balcony. This plemling leader was a dipterclops wearing a white cowboy hat, barely over his single eye. He shot with deadly speed and accuracy, taking out a few rhino guards, cats, and hyenas. Goofy, now recovered, with his shield knew that this would require a little improvisation, noticed that the rear of his shield was like a mirror. With a look of determination stepped forward to challenge the cowboy plemling.
"Hey pardner! Come and get me!" he beckoned, readying his shield. The plemling shot out his eye laser, and Goofy immediately moved his shield upwards, which redirected the laser shot right back at the cowboy plemling, nailing him in the face, who then gave a death roar, and fell out of the balcony.
"Way to go Dad!" applauded his son Max from afar. The joy was short lived as a bigger than average flying plemling broke through the domed glass above.
"Face the wrath of Liefcaviza humans and animals! Bombs away!" the flying plemling bellowed. Without any hesitation, he began dropping pod bombs from his roots, spat out seed missles, and ate a few bird guests around the building, spitting out their bones in the process. All this mayhem had the guests and staff scrambling around screaming trying to dodge the horrible attacks. One princess, not selected by Zack stepped forward, Elsa the ice princess who used her ice magic to freeze one of Liefcaviza's wings, sending him into a spinning dive which then landed out of a high window. Everyone, including the group and Zack applauded her heroics in stopping the dangerous monster.
The happiness was short lived as the lights went out again, and this time the nightclub began to shake, the thunderous shaking got louder and louder. Suddenly, eight huge tentacles burst through the nightclub four on each side swinging around trying to grasp a victim, everyone screamed in horror as the tentacles relentlessly pursued the nearest victim. A few seconds later a white hot blast shot through the front ceiling of the nightclub sending Pete down and screaming in horror at what he was seeing, Shanbahac himself, a gigantic 40 feet tall cephalid plant monster, laughing maniacally.
"First I'll destroy this nightclub, and then the world is mine!" Roared the huge plemling king. One of Haithi's elephants was grasped by one of Shanbahac's tentacles and immediately ate the elephant, whole and alive, the guests and the group watched in horror as the victim was devoured and then spat back out as bones.
"You'll pay for all the damage you've done Shanbahac!" Yelled out Zack in anger, the group's fury rose to Zack's level as they all prepared to face the gigantic menace. "Nobody breaks through a nightclub in my town!" Everyone readied their weapons. "One, two throw it!" he ordered. Everyone launched their magic attacks at Shanbahac, but all did not faze him one bit.
"Is that the best you can do pitiful humans and animals?" Shanbahac sneered. "See what you make of this!" His mouth began to glow white, and in a matter of seconds in glowed whiter and whiter.
"Everyone dodge!" shouted Zack, whom they all did, just as a white beam shot out of his mouth which tore a mighty path through the nightclub, the guests and staff continued cowering at the sight of this gigantic abomination. Mulan and Mushu ran over to where there were some fireworks and without hesitation, Mushu lit the fireworks which were sent their way at the plemling king. The fireworks made contact, but only a little fire was one him and then faded away. In the far corner, Ariel's father King Triton decided to try his luck with his trident, which emitted a beam of energy. The beam hit the plemling king, which made a hole in him, but it immediately healed up in a matter of seconds.
Shanbahac sent a few tentacles his way swinging downward which the group dodged. Zack and Aladdin ran forward and chopped off a bit of the tentacles. But no sooner did that happen the ends grew right back. His mouth began to glow again, Goofy stepped forward with his shield mirror side forward, another white beam shot out, it reflected back to Shanbahac, but the beam was so powerful it also sent Goofy flying backwards, and unconscious. Another hole was made, but it healed back up in a matter of seconds.
"Ha ha ha ha! You pathetic lifeforms don't realize I'm completely invincible!" laughed the evil plant king. He then grabbed the two defenders with his tentacles, who struggled to break free. Out of nowhere a huge fireball came down on Shanbahac, which burned him a bit, and released the duo. The group turned their heads to the direction of where it came from. It was Hades, the great god of the underworld, with red flame hair (meaning he's angry).
"Not if I can help it!" he yelled. "Zack, come here, and let me give you a boost!" Zack came over, even though the group protested. Hades placed his hands on Zack's shoulders, he felt a great energy surging through him. "Now's your chance, defeat this evil king and were all safe!" he ordered. Zack jumped like he never did before, it was like he was flying. "Flame Blade!" he shouted, his sword ignited, as he flew upward, Shanbahac threw his tentacles at Zack. The group, including Elsa stepped forward and launched magic and his tentacles, all of which deflected the aim, and Zack prepared to swing just a few feet away from the horrible giant monster's heart. "Ultra Slash!" he shouted, and delivered a terrific slash across the chest of the giant octopus plant, Shanbahac gave out a big cry of pain.
"The only good human….is a…...dead…...hu….man…." uttered Shanbahac who then closed his eyes, bent his head, and dropped his tentacles, dead and defeated. A few seconds later, Shanbahac's ghost came out. "YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS HUMANS AND ANIMALS!" he bellowed and then departed to the afterlife.
The entire nightclub, heroes, villains, animals, commoners, creatures, staff all gave a round of applause to the group, not only was the clubhouse saved but the world as well. Aladdin ordered the Genie to come over and with one wish the nightclub was back together and free from the fallen monsters.
The group was now on the stage, everyone was anticipating what was going to happen next to Zack Burner.
"Thank you all for saving us Zack, we apologize for considering you a bad guy." smiled Mickey. "What will you do now?"
"That plemling attack was only the beginning, you bunch are now paranormal investigators, there are now more frightening threats that are happening all over the world. The mad magician ghost you just caught was one of 13 horrible, malevolent specters. But there's more, do all of you think you can handle, vampires, blobs, mad scientists, haunted paintings, mythological terrors, diabolical sorcerers, zombies, aquatic nightmares, and much more?" Zack asked. The group huddled together discussing the matter. Eventually all turned to Zack smiling.
"We'd be more than happy to oblige!" Mickey said smiling, the rest followed. Hades stepped onto the stage, his flame hair was blue this time though with a scowl on his face, turning to the audience.
"Do not be mistaken, good is good and evil is evil…" he said, and then turned to Zack with a smile, "but you Zack, you're a special kind of hero, one that balances light and darkness and embraces the macabre, so you have my respect!" He held out a hand to shake, and Zack replied with a hand as well, and they shook hands smiling at each other. Hades then went back into the audience.
"Hey blue boy!" Zack called out to the Genie, who came over without hesitation. "I make my first wish, to rest how about a nice dance floor for this nightclub?" The Genie nodded and with a point of a finger materialized a disco dance floor. Zack approached the microphone, cupped his hands together creating a ball of fire and then launched it at the ceiling which then cooled off into a disco ball. "The threat is over for now, so let's party!" Everyone got on the floor and started dancing to the cool music Zack provided, it was going to be a good time coming up.
