Episode 17: Japanese Jolts Part 4 – Titanic Terrors in Tokyo
It only took a few seconds for the Z-Team to Shadow port from the outskirts of Kyoto to Tokyo city, they landed on top of some big building to assess the devastation going on: an enormous centipede, a jet-black giant with yellow eyes, and an gigantic serpent with eight heads causing destruction in the city. All around, citizens from everywhere were fleeing in terror at the sights of these titanic monstrosities as they attempted to swipe up any unfortunates, wreck buildings, or send a huge tidal wave. The Z-Team pondered for a bit how they were all going to deal with these three, having faced a few gigantic monstrosities before, including Shanbahac.
Just then a helicopter appeared from above, Zack identified one of the passengers: none other than Dr. Dectavious himself. As soon as the chopper landed, the Z-Team's mentor came out with the tamed Kappa right behind, and the good scientist carried a black bag which had something moving in it.
"You came at just the right time Doc! We'll need all the help we can get!" shouted Zack in glee.
"Yes, one of you can take Medusa's head, and perhaps I can trade your black tapir for the Kappa?"
"Definitely, we'll need all the help we can get for this fierce battle!" With the trade done, the Z-Team ported off the building and to where their first opponent was, near the edge of the mountain was the gigantic centipede Omukade. The group immediately recognized the insect, it was the same one that poisoned Zack when Dakmogon knocked him unconscious. In a nearby vicinity, they noticed one of Dr. Venom's scientists in some corner of the mountain, holding a syringe in one hand, no doubt a growth hormone. The scientist just finished administering the growth hormone, when the cenitpede turned on the scientist and devoured him, and then caught sight of the Z-Team, it scurried its enormous yet spindly legs in the direction of them, yet they braced themselves.
Everyone that had magic launched their spells at the enormous many-legged insect, but none of their spells affected it's tough exoskeleton armor as it continued towards them at a surprisingly frightening speed, its teeth were gnashing trying to pick up its next victim. Mulan with Mushu's help lit up some fireworks from her box of fireworks, but the explosions barely put a dent in the Omukade's exoskeleton. Then Zack snapped his fingers and pulled out a spirit flask, just after they dodged another attack.
"You're going to use a ghost to attack that thing Zack?" pondered Elsa. "They wouldn't even pull one its legs off!"
"That's what you're thinking at first, but I have one that can do the job, thoug must be used wisely….." Zack replied with confidence first, then slowly shifted to a bit of reluctance. Without any further delay he took the cap off, and a big ghastly vapor emerged from the flask, growing bigger and bigger by the second until after a while it took form, it was the equally gigantic skeleton, the Gashadokuro, the same one, Zack managed to capture in the House of Mouse a while ago, much to everyone's horror.
"Zack, you're crazy!" shouted Mickey. "That thing will eat us and innocents!"
"I'll immediately recapture it once it's done with this thing..." Zack replied sure of his plan. Both yokai caught sight of each other, the Omukade emitted a frightening shriek, rearing its head and charged at it, while the Gashadokuro bellowed an equally frightening roar and grabbed the giant centipede. All the Z-Team could do now was watch, Zack had the flask and the Shadow Bane at the ready once this battle was all over, for he knew that the ghost skeleton couldn't be controlled by anyone good or evil. The Omukade was a slippery opponent for the Gashadokuro, but with all the pent up frustration from all the grief (since it's the bones of those who have died from starvation and didn't receive a proper burial), it persisted, eventually, the skeleton managed a tight-fisted grip on the insect and then started to ingest it right away, it took a several chews, but eventually the Omukade was swallowed whole. Just immediately after the gigantic skeleton finished it's meal, Zack held up the Shadow Bane, then said some strange words, in an instant the skeleton returned to the flask, then was closed up, and put away.
"One giant Yokai down, two to go…..off to the next monster everyone!" Without any more to say, Zack conjured up a shadow portal and beckoned his members into it. The Z-Team then ported to the location of their next opponent the Umibozu, who was causing havoc on the waterfront, sending giant waves all over the place, overturning some boat, sending some people screaming off, some were swept away by the waves, and buildings were either flooded or damaged. Zack took out his sword, and pointed at the monster.
"Moana! Donald! Take care of this behemoth!" The two Zack called for stepped forward, both pointing their weapons at the Umibozu. They simultaneously called out their spells, but it barely effected it. Then Moana snapped her fingers with an idea in mind, turning to Zack.
"Zack, throw me Medusa! Perhaps she'll take care of this one!" Zack smiled and complied to the request, throwing the bag holding Medusa's head. Everyone else closed their eyes as the Umibozu peered down after being hardly fazed by the combined attack of water and electricity. It lurched its enormous, serpentine limbs at Moana and Donald as if attempting to grab them both and perhaps crush them. Just before that could happen, Moana pulled out the head, and in an instant the eyes of Medusa glowed yellow, the Umibozu recoiled, and then in a matter of seconds began the harden up to stone, then almost immediately began to crumble and break apart, the stone pieces of it fell into the river, creating a rocky pile, worthy of a little fishing pier for any local fisherman in the future.
Immediately after that threat was neutralized, the Z-Team turned their attention to the gigantic Yamata-no-Orochi. Trying to tackle an eight-headed gargantuan serpent was going to be the toughest challenge for the Z-Team thus far, and for that they would have to find some high ground, but it wouldn't be any building, but perhaps the tallest tower around. Zack found what he was looking for to give him and his members the edge that they needed for fighting on the ground was out of the question.
"Over there Z-Team! The Tokyo Tower!" shouted Zack, he immediately cast a shadow portal and everyone jumped in with haste and without any second thought. They arrived at the top of the tower, which should give enough space between the Z-Team and the eight-headed Orochi. Just as they arrived at the top of the tower, Mickey pulled out the guidebook and skimmed through the pages, hoping there was an article on the serpent, there was.
"It says right here a samurai got the serpent to drink some sake and once it got all lax, the hero lobbed off its heads." Mickey read aloud.
"Well no time to fetch some sake, we'll have to all find a way to beat down the serpent!" replied Zack, and everyone readied their weapons. "I'll strike first to bring it over here! Flame Blade!" shouted Zack causing a stream of fire to shoot out of his sword which it one of the heads of the Orochi, causing it to divert its attention to the tower where the heroes were. Lumbering along making frightening roars, the Z-Team braced themselves for the toughest fight of their careers and lives so far, the Scylla they faced earlier was just the warm-up for what was going to be a hard, epic battle.
The serpent surrounded the tower with all eight of its heads, circling the heroes like a pack of hyenas stalking lion cubs. Everyone that used magic launched their spells at the heads, while those that didn't used whatever else they could have, from their weapons to claws and fangs, but those efforts only managed to repel each head for a short while. One head lunged at the two lions, mouth open letting out a monstrous roar, but Simba readied himself.
"Rock Shot!" he roared, slamming his two front paws downwards, causing a rock to magically appear and hit the head with quite a force, that it let out a painful roar, and then slumped downward, dead and hanging. Another head lunged at Mulan with frightening speed, who managed to get away in the nick of time, and then with her dragon's help lit four fireworks and just in time for the head was making another chance at striking, mouth open, the fireworks launched into the mouth, then exploded as soon as they entered, causing the head to emit a horrible roar of pain before slumping downward, dead and hanging like the previous head.
With two heads down and six to go, things were looking good for the Z-Team, but the worst was yet to come. One head eyed both Moana and Donald, and then lunged with a bite, the two got out of the way just in time, and with the head in close proximity, the two readied their weapons. Moana went first pointing her oar and shouted, "Hydro Surge!" dousing the head in water for a bit and then Donald went next shouted out, "Lightning Strike!" emitting a bolt of electricity, shocking the head for all its worth causing it to recoil a bit and then drop dead.
Three heads began charging at the group, mouths open, emitting horrible roars of rage, how could the Z-Team stop three at once? Fortunately, Aladdin stepped forward, pointing his scimitar shouted, "Squall Gust!" emitting a strong gust of wind that was able to repel all three, but around the other side of the tower, there was some trouble Goofy, Simba, Nala, the Kappa, the Kitsune, and Pluto were facing difficulty now that 2 heads were after that group. The Kitsune barked a few times and then yelped creating an illusion of two large pots of sake appearing right in front of them, causing the two heads to bite down, only to strike metal, which gave that part of the group the opening they needed. Nala jumped on top of one head and then shouted, "Earthshaker!" slamming her two front paws on top of the head, causing a tremor in the skull of that head, it proved so much that head fell dead. The other exposed head was attacked by the others using their claws, fangs, and Goofy's shield bashing it, but then the head came to and grabbed Goofy in its mouth, Goofy screamed for help as it swung him back and forth and then threw him back onto the tower, slamming him into a pole, knocking him out. Zack and Elsa came forward, and waited for that head to strike again, it did, mouth open it bit down upon the tower when the two dodged it. Elsa immediately followed up with some ice magic, immobilizing it in place, though it kept snapping around. Zack ran over to the open mouth, held it open with one hand, pointed his sword inside and shouted, "Flame Blade!" emitting a stream of fire down the snake head's mouth, the intense heat proved to be unbearably hot and eventually that head was defeated.
One head targeted Mickey and Minnie, but they calmly stayed put with a plan on their minds. As soon as the head lunged at them, they got out of the way. Minnie took action first, raising her hand, and said, "Have you ever seen the…...Light Ray!" emitting a beam of light out of her hand into the serpent head's eyes, blinding it, and then Mickey followed suit, with Jasmine right behind whipping the head so it could stay put, then Mickey cupped his hands, then shouted "Shadow Skull!" launching a wispy dark skull at the head, defeating it.
Two heads now remained of the multi-headed horror, but strategies and ideas were getting depleted, time to think was getting more and more precious as the heads were getting a lot more aggressive, striking faster now that almost all of the heads were defeated, not to mention the Z-Team was getting tired from the fierce battling and dodging the bites of the heads. Then Zack remembered something and beckoned Elsa to the other side of the tower while the rest tried their best to hold off the two remaining heads.
"Do you remember when we earned those two crystals Elsa?" asked Zack, breathing a bit on the heavy side.
"Oh yes, I almost forgot about those!" she replied equally winded as he was. "What are we waiting for? Let's see if the legends are true!"
"Sounds good to me, two heads left, lets do this!"
The two returned and pulled out the two crystals and recalling what Sakura Nagaki told them, they began the morph sequence.
"Power of Fire/Water….." the two started saying in unison. "Morph!" the duo raised the crystal above their heads, and in a matter of seconds, the two changed into red and blue light forms while either flames or streams of water came out of the crystals and into the light forms that were the duo. After a while the crystals sank into the forms and began to change shape and then come out of the light form into the physical form. In Zack's place was a red-orange dragon with blue eyes, broad bat wings, crest-like horns, short arms, chunky legs, and a tail with a flame on the end which was his life force. In Elsa's place was a bipedal blue skinned turtle, with black eyes. Every other Z-Team member was awestruck at the sight of these two creatures that were once members. The two remaining heads attempted to bite the two new creatures but they got out of the way, just as the jaws clamped down, but then the heads immediately knocked Mickey and Minnie who were on the sides, off of the tower by swinging, causing the dragon that was Zack to fly down and rescue them both, while the turtle that was Elsa raised both of her hands and launched streams of water more powerful than Moana's into the mouth of one of them, which only sent that head recoiling after having a huge surge of water into its mouth. The dragon returned with the mice and let them off of his back to resume the battle. The dragon then turned to the turtle.
"Sister, we should combine our powers for this head!" the dragon boomed with a gentle roar.
"Sure thing brother!" replied the turtle in a shrill voice. With that, the turtle raised her hands just as the one head she battled with water opened its mouth again for another strike. She immediately launched her two streams of water into the mouth, then the dragon unleashed a fire breath into the streams of water, getting them boiling hot. The boiling hot water surged into the mouth of the serpent head, it gave off roars of pain and then after a while, slumped down dead. The final head charged forward and caught the dragon, but the dragon, using his great strength, kept the mouth from fully closing and carried him upwards trying harder to bite down, but the dragon resisted harder, and then breathed some fire down the final serpent head's throat getting awfully hot. As this happened the serpent gave one final roar of pain and then the whole serpent began to collapse, the dragon escaped as soon as it started, and the gigantic serpent fell down dead, it was slain. The dragon flew over to where the rest of the Z-Team was who were now cheering at their long, epic fight, which was now over.
"That was spectacular!" smiled Mickey. "We're in your debt you two..."
"Charmahut…." replied the dragon.
"And Shivoise…." added the turtle. Goofy had come to after being knocked out and then saw the two creatures.
"Gawrsh, you two are amazing!" Goofy smiled astounded.
"Thank you Goofy" replied Charmahut.
"It's our duty as guardians to defend the innocent from evil" added Shivoise. "But I think it's time to bring back the bold heroes." Charmahut nodded.
"Morph back!" the two shouted in unison. In an instant the two became the light forms and then changed shape back into Zack and Elsa respectively.
"Congratulations everyone!" Smiled Zack. "You've conquered the mightiest Yokai of them all! Follow me to the ground level, I have something for one of you…." He created a Shadow portal and the Z-Team followed, porting to the ground level where they were at the gigantic serpent's tail end. "Believe it or not inside of this creature is a legendary weapon for one of you. If any of you are squeamish, turn or close your eyes for what needs to be done is a bit messy..." The group adhered to his advice as he went to work on the serpents tail. After a minute he returned holding something holstered. "All of you may look now." he said. What the Z-Team now saw was a sword, and not just any sword. "This is the legendary sword Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi or the Sword of the heavenly Gate, a weapon for you Mulan" He handed the Chinese girl the epic blade, as she grasped the hilt she felt a sense of awe as it glowed a white aura and a sense of power as she held it.
"Th-this is amazing! Thank you Zack!" she replied with a smile. The Z-Team then saw a huge group of cheering Japanese people including Master Raito and one man in a business suit, the president of Japan, Kenjiro Shakamiya.
"Ohayo, great defenders, you have saved our city and our land from the horrible abominations that plagued our land. Thank you!" He bowed to the Z-Team who bowed in return as proper courtsy. "As a token of our humble gratitude, you can take part in our celebration, including a feast." The Z-Team all cheered at that notion. Master Raito handed them another piece of the strange map they needed. Next it was a whole song, dance, and feast in the city square, some members such as Simba, Nala, Rajah, and Aladdin worked the drums, while Jasmine and Mulan played the flute, the others in their yukatas danced along with the night sky lit up with peony lanterns. Afterwards was a grand feast with plenty of Japanese vegetables and seafood. It was a most glorious celebration after a long lengthy battle with this side of the darkness, yet the worst was yet to come.
