Welcome back to Elemental Crisis Book III. Last time, Cisco finally got back with the analysis of the Dark Gem fragment Flash sent to ARGUS for analysis back in Book I. And after a playful bollocking directed at Flash for not telling Cisco that Spyro and Cynder were here sooner, he confirmed that the rock was in fact what they thought it was. With that, Element training resumed. Meanwhile, Myriad revealed a part of her plan to recapture the Elements they lost, or rather two of them: a Kryptonite sword and a Dark Gem shield. This can't end well. And now, we resume our story as we left it.

(Our scene picks up back outside the D.E.O. facility, where Spyro and Supergirl are still going over the Element of Earth, and Supergirl continues to send herself flying into the ground whenever she tries to unleash it. But Spyro is weirdly positive about the whole thing.)

Supergirl: Well, that could have gone better.

Spyro: To be honest, it did. You didn't end up as deep in the ground as usual.

Supergirl: I appreciate the optimism, but I think we're going to need more improvement if we're going to stop Malefor.

Spyro: Well, let's try to deduce the problem. What's on your mind when you try to unleash the Earth Element?

Supergirl: For the most part, it's trying not to accidentally fly.

Spyro: I think I see what's happening here. You're acting as if your two power sets are in conflict.

Supergirl: Well, considering the whole "stronger when in touch with the ground" thing you've told me Earth has, and that my natural powers tend to be more prominent in the air, there's reason to think they conflict.

Spyro: Maybe not so much as you think. I think I know how to solve this problem.

Supergirl: Well, please, enlighten me.

Spyro: You're so used to fighting in the air that you neglect another part of your powers. Your strength.

Supergirl: My strength?

Spyro: Exactly. My suggestion? Instead of fighting flight, try to embrace that strength. That ability should compliment the Element of Earth nicely.

Supergirl: (Thinks it over) Honestly, not a bad suggestion.

Spyro: Then let's work with it. What do you feel when summoning your Kryptonian strength?

(Supergirl thinks this over for a moment, but going back through all her memories, comes up with nothing, much to her own surprise)

Supergirl: Thinking about it, I don't think I've noticed an emotional trigger there. I've just... done it. Or if there are recollections of it, they're more flashbulb memories than anything.

Spyro: Then I think that's where we need to go next. Why don't we head back inside and do some self reflection, rather than continuing to make the grounds look like the moon.

Supergirl: Honestly, the grounds team would agree with that proposition.

(With that, Spyro and Supergirl head back inside. And after Supergirl gets her costume cleaned off, the two are in what looks like a break room meditating on something, when Sentinel and Toyman walk in and just observe them)

Toyman: You know, Cat tried for years to convince Kara to take up meditation. Never did I think I'd see it happen.

Sentinel: That makes two of us.

Supergirl: This is less of meditation, and more of trying to figure out the emotional trigger for my strength.

Sentinel: (Realizing the approach they're trying) Good change of tactics, this Element you've got does sound similar to that particular power.

Toyman: How's it coming?

Supergirl: Honestly, not as well as I'd hope. I still can't seem to place anything.

Spyro: (Having barely moved from his meditative state all this time) The answer will come in time. This isn't something you can rush.

Supergirl: (With a sigh) Good point.

(And as Supergirl resumes her thoughts, the scene transitions to just outside the D.E.O. grounds, where a dreadful trio has emerged against the skyline)

Myriad: My sensors indicate they're all in there.

General Luthor: Yeah, right in the middle of a heavily armed government base.

Myriad: A government base that started as a subsidiary of your company in this universe.

General Luthor: (Puts part of Myriad's plan together) So it would use my tech. Good call.

Malefic J'onnz: So what's the plan?

Myriad: (Drawing her Kryptonite Sword) You will see in time.

(And as the trio overlooks the D.E.O. base, our tale ends for today)

And that looks like a good place to end for today. So, Supergirl's got a new train of thought to work with, rather than fighting her flight, try to focus on triggering her strength, and maybe that'll be what it takes to control the Element of Earth. It might just work. And with the Dark Knights right on their doorstep, they better hope it does. So, what's Myriad's plan? Tune in next time for at least part of the reveal! Same time... same channel!
