Welcome back to Elemental Crisis Book III. Last time, Martian Manhunter and Sentinel faced off against Malefic J'onzz. For a time, the battle isn't going well, but then after Malefic gets shown memories of his counterpart's life with J'onn, he still ended up taking down Sentinel. Confronted with the possibility of ending Alex Danvers' life, J'onn surrenders and gets captured by Malefic. Now, we still have one battle left. Superman vs General Luthor. So let's not waste a second. Here we go!
(Our scene opens up back at the main D.E.O. computer, where General Luthor has Superman, Cynder, and Batwoman trapped in the Agony Matrix, prepared to use the Dark Gem Gauntlets that Myriad had built into his Warsuit to beat Superman to death. But in that moment, he... hesitates?)
Cynder: (Seeing General Luthor has stopped) Well? What are you waiting for?!
General Luthor: It would be so easy to finish you all off right now. Too easy.
(With that, General Luthor actually disables the Agony Matrix, allowing the trio a respite from the pain)
General Luthor: There's no challenge if I don't beat you at your best. Just to prove I can.
(Realizing they've still got the numbers advantage, the trio gets to their feet and prepares to fight)
Batwoman: You must be asking for a bad time then. Even with your Dark Gems, there's still three of us to one of you.
General Luthor: Your friends thought the same thing.
(With that, General Luthor presses a button on his Warsuit, pulling up the footage from the other two battles, where Myriad and Malefic J'onzz have just emerged victorious over their opponents)
Superman: Great Scott...
General Luthor: And look at where it got them.
Cynder: (Seeing Spyro get captured by Myriad, then snapping back to her senses) Keep focused everybody. If we can take out Luthor, we may have a bargaining chip to rescuing the others.
General Luthor: Don't count on that.
(And now the battle is on. General Luthor's Warsuit enhances his strength enough so that Batwoman, even with her Shadow abilities isn't much of a problem. Cynder and Superman are different. Cynder's got the combat edge and Superman the strength. For a moment, Superman appears to fully summon the power of the Wind Element, and Cynder notices this much, which takes the two of them out of the fight mindset for a moment, allowing General Luthor an advantage, enough to knock Cynder out, leaving only him and Superman.)
General Luthor: Just how it ended last time. With you... and me.
(Now the battle commences, and for a moment, Superman feels the Wind Element flowing through him, and he seems to project a tiny gust from his hands, but it fades quickly enough in the presence of the Dark Gems in General Luthor's Warsuit that it isn't effective. General Luthor notices this and manages to get some blows in and has Superman down for the count pretty quickly)
General Luthor: This is this world's excuse for Superman? Pathetic. I've seen realities where you die as Superboy that put up more of a fight!
(As Superman is bested, Myriad and Malefic J'onzz arrive with Martian Manhunter, Flash, Spyro, and Supergirl.)
Myriad: Huh, so this is why you haven't been responding to my calls.
General Luthor: You tried calling me?
Myriad: It is irrelevant now. Grab the Kryptonian and the dragoness. We have business to attend to with them.
General Luthor: You two go ahead, I'll catch up.
Malefic J'onzz: What's keeping you back?
General Luthor: (Walks back over to the computer and types something in) I just want to put anyone who'd track them at a disadvantage.
Myriad: A very logical move. Make it fast. (To Malefic J'onzz) We'll wait outside.
(With a shrug of indifference, Malefic J'onzz and Myriad take their captives and head out while General Luthor finishes up his plans at the main computer. Though rather than just set something, he plugs a data drive into the system and extracts something first)
General Luthor: (As he removes the drive) That should fulfill my plans. (Turns back to the system) Now to give them a shock.
(With that, General Luthor activates some system on the computer before turning away, grabbing Batwoman, Superman, and Cynder, and exiting, ending our scene for today as he shuts the door behind him)
And that looks like a good place to end for today. So, admittedly, not a good situation. All of the Element bearers have been captured, and so have Spyro and Cynder. But there's still plenty of supporting cast to help them out. But will the Superfriends and the rest of the League be enough to stop this seemingly unstoppable trio?
