Tess woke up to a ringing phone, she pick up the phone not realizing that it was Zan's phone and not her's. She spoke into the phone, It was a male voice, he was saying something about a painted window seat. She asked him who he was looking for and the man asked if Zan was there, she said yes, then went to the bathroom and he was getting out of the shower. She showed him the phone then handed it to him. After she left the bathroom, she went to the kitchen to get a glass of water. When she went back into the bedroom, Zan had ended his phone call.
They were with the Pacan race later that day. They were in the circle with Denise in the side of the room. Zan, Tess, Rath, and Lonnie, were watching as Denise gave a example of sensing someone watching her. She let out a whistle when she knew he was there. After they were done, Erika showed them some of the artifacts from home that they kept in their basement. Tess looked through the objects, she saw a marble like object that she remembered changing colors like a mood ring was suppose to. She also saw a small crib. Tess asked Erika if someone had a baby. Erika replied that Denise had a baby and it was with the nanny. Erika told her she was going to take them later to see the baby Sebastian. After they looked through the items, Erika decided it was time to go see the baby. When they into Denise's house the baby was on the floor on a blanket. He looked 6 months old and had a lot of hair. Erika went and picked him up, Denise walked in the room and said hello. Erika told Tess she would let her hold him, but he didn't do well with strangers. Tess said that was fine. He looked like a healthy baby, and he reached for his mother after a minute of being held. Zan looked at the time and said they should be going. The went to see Lonnie and Rath from next door, then they were on their way out.
On the way home on the subway, they saw a train was broken down, and people were getting off and walking the rest of the way. They were walking up to the ramp of the station. Tess remembered she wanted to stop at the store. She told Zan she was going to the store and she would meet him back at the house. He said alright. It was a little different going to the store without Zan. She walked the rest of the way home. When she got to her building, she used her key to get inside, then went to find Zan. He was in the living room on the phone, she sat down to wait for him to finish his phone call. When he was off the phone he said, it was Wanda and she wanted to know if they wanted to meet to discuss some upcoming events. Zan said he let her know they would be by the next day. Tess asked if he knew anything else and he replied that he didn't.
The next day they were in Wanda's office, Her and gram waited for Zan, Tess, Rath, and Lonnie to sit in their chairs before starting the meeting. Wanda then announced that a mission to colonize Mars was going on. A shape shifter group was already there and she wanted to know if they wanted to be part of the next group going there. Gram added that it would be a good experience for when they wanted to return to Antar. It would be two weeks there, a one week break on earth, for a 8 cycle start. Zan asked if he could talk it over with the others first. Wanda replied yes and stepped out of the room with Gram, so they could talk. When Zan looked at Rath, he said he wanted to go, and Lonnie put in she also wanted to go. He then looked at Tess for a answer then she yes she wanted to go too. He said he wanted to go also, then went to get Wanda. When she came in the room, he told her what they decided, and Wanda said she would start planning the trip. She would get back to them in a week, and they would leave shortly after that. They left the office, and Tess was anticipating finding out what Mars was like.
