It had been a week since Tess was in the meeting with Wanda. Zan heard from her the day before and she said they were all set for there trip to Mars. Tess had packed her cloths, making sure to pack for both hot and cold days. She was in bed with Zan, her head on his chest, asking if he was excited for there trip the next day. He said yeah, and he was definitely excited. She had watched him pack and he too had packed for both types of weather.
The next day Tess was waiting for the spaceship to welcome occupants on board. The Zacan's and Zonad's were going too, and another group of people who Nasado knew from a time when he was blending in, were also going. Tess remembered that he had found information on a group of individuals that knew the alien secret. The kept in contact with Wanda's source's of the NYC informers. She looked at Zan when they announced that they were boarding, he smiled then they started to walk on the spaceship. They traveled to Mars in smooth shifts and they were there in 5 hours.
The door to the space craft opened, then Tess followed the others off the spaceship. When she looked around she saw 14 large doom like houses. They looked like they were tan color. Her and Zan would be staying in the first house with Rath, Lonnie, and two other people sharing a room. Tara and Trent were there roommates. When Tess walked into the house, she saw the kitchen was set up for easy storage and stacking. It had a back walled kitchen appliances and a long island for a table. The living room had square soft furniture, and looked cozy. When Tess went into her and Zan's bedroom, it had a large bed with a good count sheet set, and furniture was on the side wall. It looked prepared for cold days. She sat on the bed and Zan came in soon after and sat beside her.
The next morning they were exploring outside. Tess stayed next to homes, moving the hard sand like dirt with a shovel. They had flowers planted but she wanted to see how the flowers they brought planted. She put a few in the ground and it looked like they could get use to the area. Zan came over soon after and told her, he was taking a walk with the group to look at the higher area's on the planet. Tess said she would come with him and followed to where the others were standing. They walked through some rocky sandy area's and then they arrived at higher area's. The hill had sand that was falling and it created a light funnel where in landed. When Tess put her hand in the ground in the stand was packed straightly up and down. She looked over and saw Zan was researching the bigger rocks. After finishing there walk, they headed back to their homes.
That night they were outside having a bomb fire. They had chairs set up and Tess was sitting next to Zan. Denny from the Zonad's, told them a story about when he was on Mars. He went on to tell them how the sun had heated up the sand quick and he his baggage was hard to find in the heat. Tess thought of strange it was for baggage to change color, maybe the elements would adapt and later wouldn't effect the particles. Darren from the Zacan race also had a story to tell. He told them that he had dug out a tunnel to drive through and it had sand in it about a week later.
When then sun came through the window, Tess woke up. She cuddled next to Zan. When they were outside later that day, she saw that the moon was next to the sun, almost aligning with it as the sun moved. She kept a eye on the moon during that day and 8 hours later it was still positioned that way. When it became dark, she thought it would disappear with the sun and only clouds would be left, and she was right, the moon did disappear. Zan thought it was a great way to start the trip. He remembered that happening on Antar before.
The next morning the sun came up without the moon, and it seemed like the night was shorter than usual. She stayed in there room watching it and waiting for Zan to get up. When he woke up, he turned to Tess and asked if she was happy the sun was back to normal. She said yes, and that she couldn't wait to see what the changing atmosphere was like that morning.
That night the moon was out and by itself. Tess had brought flashlights outside that night In case it disappeared again.
