Chi Chi fainted at the sight of Gohan. When she came to, she was much calmer. Gohan convinced her not to punish Usagi for going to West City without her knowledge.
"Just... Don't do that again, okay Usagi?"
Usagi clutched the compact Luna gave her in her hand. "I want to train with Gohan."
Chi Chi took a deep breath to calm herself down. She answered in a regulated manner. "It's much too dangerous Usagi."
"But Trunks can do it? Why can't I? I want to be a Super Saiyan too!" Usagi listed all the reasons she had to become stronger. All she wanted to do was help.
Gohan glanced between his sister and his mother. "I'd be more than happy to train her mom."
"Look at you!" Chi Chi gestured towards him. "You're in no shape to do anything!"
"Mom—"
"I just don't want to lose you two!" Chi Chi broke down, sinking to her knees.
Rather than let Usagi see their mother like this, Gohan sent her to her room. At first Usagi hesitated but seeing as Gohan was handling it, she scurried off
She hated making her mother feel like that but it didn't change the fact that Usagi wanted to train. She dove under the covers in hiding herself from the world.

Usagi heard her door creak open. She peeked her head out from underneath her blanket.
"It's me," Gohan greeted. He stepped inside, quietly closing the door behind him.
"How's mom?"
"She's better." He walked over and sat on the edge of her bed. "Here's what's going to happen."
Usagi gave him her attention, dropping the blanket from around her.
"You can train with me, but on one condition."
Usagi tilts her head. "What?"
"You cannot fight the Androids."
"But Gohan—!" Usagi bit down on her tongue, not even knowing how to make her case.
Gohan paused, glancing at her sideways. He was mildly surprised that Usagi didn't have anything to say for once. He cleared his throat and spoke again. "And I agree with her."
Usagi opened her mouth but Gohan kept talking. "And I know what you're going to say... I'm not letting Trunks fight them again either."
"Wait, really?" Usagi mulled over this information.
"Not until you're ready anyway. The Androids are just too powerful. I mean, I can't even beat them myself. All I can do is hold them off until next time."
Listening to Gohan talk, Usagi realized how tired he was. How weary he had gotten since the last time she saw him. Without anyone else protecting the Earth, Gohan was alone in his plights. Responsibility was thrown onto him when he was a kid. Now he had to teach other kids.
She thought about bringing up the compact but decided against it. She hadn't even tested it out. For now, she was going to focus on being a Super Saiyan.

Until Usagi could reach Trunks' level, Gohan trained them separately. It was a lot of work, but he managed his time well. Fortunately, the Androids hadn't attacked again. This gave him time.
Today was the day they would finally train together.
"Usagi, Trunks." Gohan looked between them as they stood on opposite sides. Luna had joined them, perched on a rock. "I want you two to spar."
Trunks was taken aback. "I'm not going to hit a girl."
Gohan was bemused. "What about 18? She's a girl."
"That's different, she's evil. I don't want to hurt Usagi."
"If Usagi is careful, you won't hurt her one bit." Gohan had trained Usagi to get just below Trunks' power level. Both of them still had a lot of potential. "Now," Gohan placed his fist on his hip. "Are we going to stand here or are you two going to fight?"
Trunks assumed a battle ready stance. "Fine..."
"Alrighty!" Gohan then lifted his hand into the air and began a countdown. "3...2...1..." He brought his hand down, signalling for them to start. "Go!"
Trunks let go of his hesitation and began to strike first. He swung his leg around to deliver a swift kick.
Usagi brought up her arms in an X to block the kick from knocking the wind out of her. Trunks then flew into the air, preparing to hit her with a masenko attack, to which she blocked also.
"Come on, Usagi! Go on the offensive!" Gohan coached.
The sparring had to take a pause as all three of them felt powerful energy enter the area. Androids 17 and 18.
"Keep sparring," Gohan instructed them, walking towards the edge of the mountain. "I'll take care of this."
"Gohan wait!" Trunks flew to his side. "Let me help, I know I can take them. I'm strong enough now."
Gohan fell silent as Usagi approached them. She knew that Gohan wasn't going to let them near the fight.
However she was surprised when he said it was okay.
"I won't let you down Gohan." Trunks promised. He had his game face on, he was ready.
The only thing he wasn't ready for was the chop Gohan delivered to the base of his neck, effectively knocking him out. "I know you won't... You'll make me proud Trunks." Gohan looked at Usagi who appeared mortified. "Look after him."

"I'm tired of this." 18 sat on a rock, head in her hand. "Let's go somewhere else."
"C'mon, it'll be fun. There are still some people left alive here. We just have to find 'em." said 17, blasting apart a boulder. He was a few feet behind her.
18 rolls her eyes.
"You won't be doing any of that on my watch." Gohan looked overhead in Super Saiyan form.
"Finally!" Android 18 stood up from where she sat. "Something interesting!"
Android 17 looked around, expecting Trunks to show up. "What? No runt today?"
"Nope. You'll be facing me alone."
Android 17 clicked his tongue. "Well that's too bad. How's your sister by the way?"
Gohan assumed a battle pose, ready to give them all he had. "Enough talk! Fight me!"
