Capítulo 1

-Author's Note-

This is my version of a story that I've had in mind since the first Halo game I played without having the courage until today. Depending on whether I continue it or not, it is not impossible that I will put it up for adoption, and if you want to take ideas from my story, don't hesitate! Honestly, I'm more of a reader than a writer, I prefer reading a good story. Happy reading :)

English is not my natural language, so I apologize in advance if this is difficult to read.

Chapter 1

On the bridge of the UNSC Spirit of Fire, Captain James Cutter, a man with white skin, approximately 6 feet tall, gray hair, and blue eyes, looked out the bridge window as the ship began the slipspace jump procedure. Behind his ship was Trove, the Forerunner shield world on the verge of being destroyed by one of the only existing copies of the Nova Bomb, the most powerful weapon of humanity. "It's going to be time, Captain!" The voice on the radio only served to darken his mood as Sergeant John Forge, one of the best soldiers he had ever known, was preparing to sacrifice his life to destroy the Forerunner weapons and ship depot that the Covenant wanted to use in the war against humanity, the powerful weapon having its timer damaged during the confrontation between the Red Team Spartan and Sergeant John Forge with the Arbiter Ripa 'Moramee and his Sangheili. The Sergeant was currently heading alone towards the artificial sun to detonate the Bomb and thus provide the necessary elements for the creation of a supernova.

On the holotank next to the captain's chair, a small translucent figure with lines of code scrolling across her body appeared; it was a young woman with long brown hair. "Captain, slipspace jump ready at your command!" His simple call, devoid of his usual bite, matched the situation quite well.

With a nod to himself, James Cutter adjusted his cap, bidding farewell to an exceptional man. "We are ready for the jump into the slipspace, it was an honor to have such a crew member under my command...!" Taking a brief pause - more for himself than anyone else - he resumed speaking, his voice steady and worthy of a man responsible for the lives of an entire crew, "Good luck, Sergeant!" Spirit of Fire en route to Earth, over! Outside the ship, the dark Slipspace portal opened as the troop transport rushed inside.

Before the UNSC ship could fully enter slipspace, the powerful NOVA Bomb exploded, annihilating the world of Trove. However, the powerful shockwave and gravitational wave from the collapsing artificial star struck the rear of the ship as well as the slipspace portal, causing an event that would forever change the fate of the Spirit of Fire crew and the future of the Humans of Earth.

Alarms echoed through the bridge of his ship as Cutter stabilized, the tremors dissipating as if they had never existed in the first place. "Serina!" "Status?" His call for a report had barely been uttered when the ship's intelligent AI materialized, as was customary, on the mini-holotank next to the captain's seat.

"We were struck by the gravitational wave from the collapsing star!" As she uttered these words, the various lines of code coursing through her body briefly accelerated, proof that she was reviewing all the ship's systems. "However, apart from the jolts and some broken dishes, the only notable damage is a slight surge in the Shaw-Fujikawa drive."

With a grunt of discontent, James rose from his chair to watch his men busy at work, flashes of red energy visible streaking through the normally pitch-black slipspace across the bridge of his ship. "Should we exit slipspace for an inspection?"

After a moment of silence, the lines of code on her body accelerated even more for a fraction of a second, Cutter barely had time to take a step forward before Serina replied, "It won't be necessary, Captain. Should I continue the preparations for the crew's cryogenic sleep?"

Continuing to contemplate the dark dimension of the slip space through the window, Cutter turned and headed towards the exit. "Yes!" I'm going to my neighborhood! "Don't let anyone disturb me!" Serina did not respond, leaving the captain to his thoughts as she prepared the cryogenic modules for the very long journey back to Earth.

(A few days later)

"I would have thought you would already be in your cryogenic module!"

Her few words pulled Professor Ellen Anders out of the work she had been immersed in, but she did not turn to her interlocutor nonetheless. "Yes!" I am studying one of the different Forerunner technologies that we recovered from the Shield World. The return journey will take more than a year, so I'm getting a head start!

As Cutter approached her, weaving through the various devices that made up the chaos of her laboratory, he spoke. "And what could possibly be so urgent that you make the medical staff wait for you?"

If Ellen had noticed the sarcastic and displeased tone of Cutter, she acted as if nothing had happened. "The Forerunners are a race millions of years ahead of us, so there is no shortage of things, Captain!"

Sitting next to her, Cutter looked at a machine clearly assembled by Ellen herself; however, it was easy to notice various Forerunner materials, with the silver-gray metal standing out particularly from the other metals. "But what the hell is this thing?" And how the hell did you manage to get something like that through the laboratory door! The machine was enormous, easily as bulky as a Scorpion tank. With a design that was at least archaic, it had the shape of a Warthog axle, but instead of where the wheels would be, there were precisely the two identical Forerunner pieces.

Ellen Anders then turned to him, this time with stars in her eyes, clearly very proud of herself and her creation. Cutter could then see for the first time a good overview of her appearance; she was covered in grease and other dirt. "This is what the Precursors used to create their structures!" Seeing Cutter's clearly skeptical, even comical raised eyebrow, she continued, "The Forerunners were capable of using what we call Hardlight to create entire buildings from nothing, even ships like the ones we saw on Trove in just a few minutes, perfectly operational. They could make atoms and other particles be created permanently, all thanks to Hardlight, and this!"She said with a grand gesture of her arms, "And this is my own prototype!" I managed to dismantle two of their machines that we salvaged to make one that works, although mine is not as advanced as the predecessor's.

Cutter didn't know whether he should once again be impressed by her skills or furious that she had taken the precious equipment, for which many soldiers had risked their lives to seize, without authorization, or that she had plugged into the ship's fusion power supply without telling anyone. Ellen headed to the table just behind them to grab her coffee mug. "Look!" I place my ceramic cup that I put under the machine on the left side... then she returned to the computer located at the center of the imposing machine "… and I activate the machine, as you can see, my cup is being absorbed by the machine…. To be destroyed permanently!

Cutter then watched an orange light strike the Mug harshly, destroying it into particles instantly. James then crossed his arms over his chest, "You know, there are much simpler ways to break a cup!"You can ask as much as you want, I won't lend you mine!

Rolling his eyes, Anders continued his demonstration, his satisfied smile still present on his face. "Maybe, but now the machine will record the exact shape and composition of my cup..." She continued while picking up various trash and used objects that were lying around a bit everywhere, "… Well, now watch closely!" I will take some typical trash, an empty aluminum can and a standard cardboard box of crackers that I will put in the machine like my Mug previously, admire! Cutter then watched the machine light up once more, however this time the orange light did not instantly disintegrate the waste, but rather seemed to decompose it into luminous particles gradually and slowly. As the decomposition process took place on the left side of the machine, the right side also lit up, and a beam of orange light began to materialize the shape of something. It quickly became evident that the object was a mug. Then, at the same moment that the can and the cardboard box were completely destroyed and the left machine turned off, the right one shone with a white light before turning off. Andres then took the newly created mug and turned to a stunned James Cutter, who did not take his eyes off the mug. The mug was identical to the one previously destroyed, the same shape and made of ceramic.

"My machine doesn't create matter out of nothing, but it can transform it into what we want..." Although we still need to test it, in the near future we will be able to create our own model of this machine! She finished, visibly satisfied with having managed to gather all these Forerunner components with their technology while achieving a concrete and functional result.

Although the implications of such technology could be formidable, Cutter had to keep his feet on the ground. "What have you created?" You assembled two Forerunner machines that you managed to reactivate! However, the feat remains remarkable, but as impressive as it may seem, with your demonstration, I conclude that this machine appears to need a base specimen to be sacrificed in order to achieve its constitution and form, and with only one machine, the possibilities seem limited to me!

Putting the mug back on the table, Professor Anders turned to the computer, "I know!" But it was just for demonstration, and we have one or two other copies of the same main part of this machine that we recovered with these two, plus if we input the data on the chemical and atomic compositions and then model the 3D model on the computer, we should be able to create whatever we want without needing to go through the decomposition step. I still need to work on it.

However, his momentum was cut short by Cutter. "You will work on it another time!" For the moment, you will prepare yourselves and head towards the cryogenics module that awaits you! As she was about to protest, Serina interrupted them just as it was about to turn into an argument. "Captain ! Your presence is needed on the bridge, we have a problem with the slipspace !"

Lifting his head slightly, he furrowed his brows, which had become a habit lately. "A malfunction with the FTL reader, Serina?"

There was a brief moment of tense silence as Serina took her time to respond, which was quite concerning coming from an intelligent AI with such absurdly enormous processing power. "I don't know, Captain. According to the computer's calculations and the data from my sensors, everything indicates that we have arrived at our destination!"

This time, Cutter and Anders looked at each other, troubled by Serina's comment; the journey to Earth would take them many years, it was absolutely impossible that they had already arrived at their destination. "Cancel the crew's cryogenic process and declare a state of alert!" I'm heading to the bridge right now !"

Arriving on the bridge, Cutter and Anders could indeed see that they had exited the slipspace, the view of Jupiter opening up before them, as various crew members, some who had not yet gone into sleep and others who were waking up, Cutter headed towards the holographic table as a representation of the solar system appeared. "Captain, despite all my efforts, I cannot contact the Jovian colonies, I find no trace of them." And indeed, the holographic table confirmed that there were no longer any infrastructures of any kind on the moons of the gas giant.

A very unpleasant shiver ran down James Cutter's spine as his brain imagined different scenarios regarding the implications of the absence of the Jovian colonies. "Would the Covenants have come this far?" That was the only explanation he could think of, and he didn't like it at all. "Serina!" Full power to the engines heading to Mars, I want to know what's going on!

The journey took at least more than a good half hour before the Fourth planet of the solar system appeared to them, but they immediately knew something was wrong, as the planet looked red, arid, and hostile. "I do not detect any typical traces of plasma emissions that the Covenant might leave during their world glassing, but my readings indicate that there are no signs of a viable atmosphere. According to the results, the planet would be identical to what it was before 2080; it's as if the planet had never been terraformed." While pronouncing these words, Serina appeared on the holographic table right next to the image of the red planet as the entire bridge was buried in a deathly silence. "Should I set course for Earth, Captain?" Except that this time the question received no answer, the entire bridge crew followed the figure of their captain as he began to move slowly across the bridge, arms behind his back, lost in thought.

The Spartan Red Team, also on the bridge in their armor, managed to stay calm despite the situation. Jérôme-092, Alice-130, and Douglas-042 behaved as they had been taught, with unwavering discipline. They were ready to intervene if the crew members lost their composure, which, given the situation, was an increasingly likely possibility. "Yes, Serina, however, I want us to arrive in the blind spot, heading towards the far side of the moon but with Earth within sensor range, and look for traces of Luna." The Captain's order brought everyone back to reality, and his calm and professional tone inspired everyone. The crew returned to work with an Olympian calm.

As the Spirit approached their home planet, the transporter's sensors were running at full capacity, as they had expected at this stage, no trace of Luna, however…. "Captain, I have good news and bad news!" Still around the central table, Cutter waited for Serina to continue her report. "Bad news, I can't find any trace of the space infrastructure that should be there, no ODPs or shipyards, however, I still detect active satellites and the planet's atmosphere is still habitable, no signs of any plasma ejection, nor any Covenant ships in the vicinity either!"

Cutter was at least reassured to know that the cradle of humanity was not in flames and bloodshed. "Operational satellites?" What kind? Serina then broadcasted through the speakers what seemed to be various radio stations and other radio programs.

As the various sounds came to an end, Serina, for her part, was working at full speed."Sir!" After analysis, I was able to gather different information! According to various radio stations around the world, the date that keeps coming up is 1996, and the space debris also corresponds to what it should be from that time!

James turned his head towards the AI of his Building, "What, we would have gone back in time?!" it's impossible, Serina!» The AI had no answer for him, nor did anyone else; James then headed towards the exit, "Red Team, Professor Anders, come with me!" His tone, although calm on the outside, did not at all reflect the storm of emotions inside. As the group walked through the corridors, they arrived at Anders' laboratory. "Be honest with me, do you think it's possible?"

After all, Ellen was the smartest person he knew, and all Spartans had an IQ and knowledge above average. Diving into their thoughts, it was Ellen who replied, "I don't know, but given that we are faced with the undeniable fact, it's hard to deny it. However, how is this possible...?"

Jérôme, who had been somewhat withdrawn, then stepped forward and said, "Maybe it's due to the influence of the artificial sun explosion on the slipspace."

Possible! We are the first in the history of human interstellar travel to have been subjected to this kind of phenomenon, at least to my knowledge. Ellen mentally scolded herself for not having considered this possibility on her own.

Cutter, on the other hand, had other concerns on his mind. "Jérôme!" You and your team are going to find Lieutenant Colonel Morgan Kinsano and Major Vaughan, have them gather their ODSTs, I want security teams spread throughout the building! When the crew is informed, many will panic, Anders and I will decide on the next course of action.

With a perfect military salute, the Red Team left the laboratory ready to accomplish their mission.

The days that followed were as tumultuous as James Cutter had expected; the news spread like wildfire. At first, the entire crew was struck as if by a sledgehammer, the sadness and grief of knowing they would never see their loved ones again had drained everyone's morale. But where things began to get tumultuous was three days later when two distinct groups within the crew started to make their appearance. The first group pointed out that this world remained Earth and that it was their duty to protect it, and that they had the means to do so like no one else before. They had the ability to advance human technology by 5 centuries in one fell swoop and to help the world prepare for the future arrival of the Covenant.

The other group, on the other hand, argued that the world below was divided and not ready for such technology without learning from their mistakes, that this was how interstellar wars began. However, the other group retorted that they were not only bringing technology but also knowledge of future events, thus the possibility of avoiding other internal wars. For Cutter, both groups had made good points, each in their own way, but he also knew that when politics got involved, nothing was ever easy.

At that moment, the captain was reading reports from Dr. O'Neil on the minor injuries following some altercations between the two groups, but thanks to the Red Team and the ODST, the confrontations were stopped before they went too far. He came out of his thoughts as a familiar shape materialized on the holographic projector. "Serina, still nothing new about Earth, I suppose?"

His question served more as an informal greeting for the AI than anything else; he didn't expect for a moment that he was going off track. "Actually, yes, Captain!" A few minutes ago, I detected an immense concentration of energy on the planet, a concentration that they should normally be unable to produce given the technological level at that time.

Cutter immediately stopped reading his report as the news particularly interested him. "Where on the planet?" It might have been the spark he desperately needed to perhaps know what to do, the crew was becoming increasingly agitated, and despite having talked about it with Ellen, they had no viable solution in sight.

An image of what he recognized as the American continent appeared on the screen in front of him. "In Colorado, captain!"

Yes, definitely very interesting, it might indeed have been the sign he was waiting for. "Serina, keep an eye out, if it happens again I want all the information you can find on it!"

(some days later/Laboratory/Spirit of Fire)

The anomaly had indeed reappeared, and the news was just as interesting as Cutter and Anders had hoped. By infiltrating the computers, which was not easy due to the technological gap between an AI like Serina and this era, they learned that the American government had discovered an object of extraterrestrial origin and had, a few days ago, sent a commando to identify and eliminate any potential threat to Earth, but that was not the most interesting part: "Would there be another one?"

Cutter and Anders were in the laboratory discussing their discovery with Serina. "Yes!" At the moment their reconnaissance team returned, I detected the same energy signature at the south pole of the planet, accompanied by a powerful seismic tremor. By extending my scanners to full power, I found a structure about 100 meters beneath the ice, probably remnants of the civilization that built these doors.

"It can give us leverage, or at least proof that they are not alone in the universe and that it is no longer time to fight among themselves." Ellen Anders raises a good point here, because while their presence and their Earth-origin ship could serve as a pretext for one of the countries to point fingers at one of their peers by claiming that the Spirit of Fire was one of their creations, an extraterrestrial craft, on the other hand, would be proof that their story was real. "We can't stay in this situation forever, James, the crew is becoming more and more restless!"

Cutter was a leader rooted in military tradition and discipline, but who balanced this tradition with genuine compassion and concern for those who served under him. He had served on seven ships, two of them as captain, and his service record and bravery were well known within the fleet; he could have easily become an admiral if he had ever wanted to. But yet, for the first time in his life, he didn't know what to do! What was the right thing to do? Until now, he had always known what to do; in every situation, it had imposed itself on him as an obvious choice, but not today, and perhaps it was this uncertainty that scared him the most! However, what he did know was that he couldn't leave his crew in this state of constant psychological stress. Ellen and Serina watched James as he was lost in thought, then after a moment he left without saying a word.

(Bridge of the Spirit of Fire/ Sol System/ Planet Earth)

"Captain on the bridge!" The call of the officer on duty put all the personnel present on the bridge at attention.

"Rest!" "Serina, connect me with the entire ship, please!" without another word, he sat in his chair, contemplating what was to come "To all personnel, this is your captain speaking!" Somewhere aboard the Spirit of Fire, all activity had ceased, no sound could be heard, everyone focused on the voice of their captain filtering through every speaker on the ship.

"I know that the series of events and misfortunes that have recently struck us have been particularly difficult for all of you, and now we find ourselves in a situation that no one before us has had to face; but now we must make a choice!" We have not only a duty towards those who live today but also towards those who will come after us! Cutter paused for a moment, taking a deep breath, his determination strengthening! His decision was made. "All of you, get ready ! We're going back to Earth !»

The major general WO West was a realistic man, however, in recent times, events more bizarre than the last have been unfolding. Major General in the United States Air Force, he was also the commander of Project Giza, also known as Project Stargate. Air Force pilot, having served during the Vietnam War and the Gulf War, he took command of Project Giza, where he had recently supervised the reactivation of the Stargate and the Abydos mission. But lo and behold, 24 hours later, a spacecraft appeared at the gates of Earth, causing a true shock and a wave of panic on a global scale, as the ship did not hold back. Hacking ALL global communication systems, they announced their arrival in every known language. They presented themselves as the Spirit of Fire, of Terran origin but from another era, confirming what many had shouted at the top of their lungs without anyone ever believing them, that they were not alone in the universe !

The vessel had begun a descent into the atmosphere, positioning itself at the planet's south pole. According to various reports, they had initiated an excavation process for a reason unknown to them. General WO had just come out of a meeting with the President of the United States a few hours ago about the potential public revelation of the Stargate, especially now that the whole world knew there was advanced life elsewhere in the universe. Heading to the American base in McMurdo, near the parking point of the unknown ship. Arrived recently, he found himself in a command room accompanied by many other high-ranking military officers and representatives of the United States of America. The reason? The spaceship had just made contact with them. "I am sorry if our arrival caused such a commotion, but the situation, which can only be described as complex, demanded it!"

Wo could then see that he was indeed a man of approximately fifty, all that is most Human, at least in appearance. "What is the purpose of your presence here?" The only question one could ask in such circumstances. After a brief moment of hesitation, he received an answer.

"I have come to save the future of Humans on this planet..." If it's possible for me!

(72 hours later/Spirit of Fire Bridge/Antarctica/Earth)

James Cutter could be seen reading various reports, The Pelican sent to the state of Colorado, near Colorado Springs, to retrieve the Stargate had just returned without incident, while the second gate had also been brought back on board with what appeared to be a control panel. The drilling teams had already begun to dig through the 100 meters of ice that separated them from a much larger structure. "The operations are proceeding smoothly, Captain!" The Red Team and the ODST group under the command of Major Vaughan have secured the drilling zone! As usual, Serina stayed close to her captain while Professor Anders worked on producing more "Hardlight Materializers," as she called them. These latest ones would play an indispensable role in the modernization of Earth, so they had to be produced in large quantities if they wanted to recreate the UEG and the UNSC as quickly as possible.

James absentmindedly shook his head. "And the governments of the world?" How do they react? Turning towards the little AI, he already knew that things were stagnating.

"The Egyptian government had started to point fingers at the United States for the theft of the Giza gate, but thanks to your veiled threat, they calmed down. The UN has asked the United States and other nations to resolve their issues and meet as soon as possible to discuss your proposal." Public opinion, in a large majority, would be rather in your favor, although as you might suspect, there are always detractors! James didn't know whether to be impressed by their stubbornness in maintaining their little position of power or angry at such contempt for the impending threats.

Where are the documents concerning all the jungle wars and the interplanetary war that will directly involve Earth? I'm also waiting for those that describe the creation of the UEG and the UNSC of our time? As if by magic, Officer Blake brought a relatively large file. With a thank you, Cutter took it and skimmed through it relatively quickly, smiling with satisfaction, he handed it back to Officer Blake and ordered him to photocopy it in multiple copies and send it to all the countries on the planet. All the cards were on the table, now the future was in their hands.

When President Bill Clinton revealed the Stargate to the world, other countries took it quite poorly, but not as poorly as the Egyptian government, which considered the Stargate to belong to them and that the United States had stolen it. No one else had openly expressed this out loud, partly because the two Earth gates were in the possession of the Spirit of Fire crew, but also because at that time there were much more important things to manage, namely a spacecraft that offered a technological advancement of 5 centuries all at once, cures for previously incurable diseases, but above all, long-distance manned space travel, the possibility of breaking free from the boundaries of their world. But the only condition for this had been imposed by Captain James Cutter! The unification of the entire planet into the UEG, a single government, and the demobilization of all armed forces and global weaponry to create the UNSC; a unique armed force whose sole purpose would be the protection and order of the entire human species, without political allegiance, without discrimination, a United World !

The different countries had proposed alternatives, compromises, but Captain Cutter wanted nothing to do with it; he had been firm, either you become sensible men and unite into a single, unique people as it should have been from the beginning to face the threat of the galaxy, or you have nothing at all and you are heading straight for your doom. He didn't have time to play their political games; there was a genocidal galactic empire in the stars with an expanding hatred for Humans. For everyone's sake, action had to be taken here and now! And when a ship with the ability to fire a tungsten-iron bullet at a significant fraction of the speed of light and permanently paralyze any global power told you to sort out your internal problems, no one had the courage to argue, but paradoxically, it was this implied threat that had prevented certain countries from making a mistake, with the Spirit standing guard over peace in the meantime.

On a global level, Cutter's proposal had been welcomed with open arms by a population still traumatized by World War II and the Cold War, although there were always skeptics. But the newspapers were already talking about this unification as "The great moment of Human clarity," but as always when politics got involved...

At that moment, the leaders of the world's major powers had gathered to discuss the potential creation of the UEG. Having all come together for the first time in Earth's history, the smaller countries were placed on the anvil, waiting, because the decisions of these heads of state would determine the future of the Earth. "Do you realize what you are proposing!" The total destruction of our society, of our way of life, to create a completely unknown one! Jiang Zemin, the current leader of China, had just said out loud what everyone was thinking quietly. The other leaders each had their own opinion on the matter, but in the face of all the wonders offered to them on a silver platter, did they have the right to deny this to the world?

French President Jacques Chirac also made this point. "Gentlemen!" Just like me, you have read the UEG charter, as well as all the future wars that Captain Cutter has given us! This government is the solution to all the problems we have known, we can boast about the merits of our current civilization but how long will it take before a new Hitler appears? Not to mention all the other wars that will strike future generations, the wars in the rainforest, the interplanetary war, the growing inequalities! We can prevent this! Because it is our future that has been thrown in our faces today, events that WILL happen if we do nothing! How many more butcheries will it take before we bang our fists on the table and say STOP!

"But in short, are we capable?" John Major, representative of the United Kingdom monarchy, was one of the most recalcitrant to this UEG, perhaps because of Cutter's under-threat, or because his country would be the most affected, each had a precise idea of why, still being a monarchy.

"If the leaders of their time could do it, why can't we?" We are not more foolish than them, nor less competent! And with complete unification, we will all benefit from this technology! We will all benefit from it! Boris Yeltsin had just given a good point here! Admitting openly that they were unable to create the UEG while others before them had succeeded was a hard blow to their pride and historical image

"Today is a historic day, gentlemen!" Whether we create the UEG or not, our names will go down in history for better or for worse, it's up to us to choose! Know that after discussing with various leaders of smaller countries as well as my Russian and French counterparts present here, we have decided to accept and join the UEG and the UNSC! Bill Clinton had just dropped a bombshell as almost everyone turned to look at him and the French and Russian presidents.

"Are you putting a knife to our throat?!" Helmut Kohl, the German leader, laid out the facts, though harsh and real. So everyone knew what that implied, either the other countries would accept it too, or they would miss the train! And although everyone knew that it was undoubtedly the right thing to do, the fear of the unknown remained ever-present. And yet in history, others before them had been in the same situation: the French Revolution, the Civil War, the Qin Unification Wars – and thus China – and all those men and women of the past had shaken up – even destroyed – the society in which they lived to create a better one; they had done what was necessary for the sake of their future.

The American and German presidents looked at each other before President Chirac spoke again. "Do you have children?" Me, yes! And I don't want to one day look at my grandchildren and tell them that I could have offered them a better future, without war, but that I didn't do it because I was too cowardly to change things and lose my position! Because I remind you, gentlemen, that we are elected by the people, and that the next leaders may not be as responsible and level-headed as we are! After all! If it's not us, the statesmen, who make this decision, then who? And it was true, for them even creating the UEG would just mean organizing elections earlier than planned, the only country that would really be shaken up would be the United Kingdom because it was a Monarchy, but if the other countries were in favor, then they wouldn't have a choice.

"Are we all in agreement?" The die was cast, and thus, for the first time in history, the current leaders of this world were all in agreement on the same thing. As they got to work, they revisited the UEG charter given by Cutter, and a new government, even better than the original UEG, began to emerge; In order to preserve their cultural independence, each country in the world will teach two languages in their schools: their native language to maintain their cultural independence and a common language for Earth and its future colonies. English was chosen because it was already the most spoken language in the world. A new common and digital currency would be established, the credits, usable via credit chips similar to credit cards. The laws of all countries will then be abandoned in favor of new common laws for everyone, simple laws that all can respect without having to drastically change their way of life.

The UEG would be composed of one leader from each country elected by their citizens, the last seat would be reserved for the Supreme Admiral of the UNSC, an exceptional officer who must be chosen unanimously by the elected members of the UEG, as no country in the world would have the right to possess an army and weapons. The Supreme Admiral would be the president of the council and the principal commander of the UNSC forces on behalf of the UEG, and would legally be the absolute authority over all UNSC Armed Forces, namely: the police forces intended to maintain order and enforce the law, the navy and thus their future fleet, the UNSC air force which would constitute the air force, the army, the ONI, and finally their future Stargate program.

If laws and decisions made by the UEG were to directly or indirectly harm any of the member states, then they would have to be rejected even if there is a majority in favor. The motto was simple: either everyone eats, even if it means having a little less, or no one gets anything at all! No one will be left behind. Religions and traditions would be preserved by everyone as long as they are not imposed on others and do not harm anyone.

The future of the Earth and the next generations was changing for the better! And all this thanks to great Men and Women who had the courage to do what was necessary at the right time.

(24 hours later/Spirit Of Fire/ Orbit)

If James Cutter had hoped that things would go well, he certainly did not expect things to go this well! Now the course of action would be all laid out. First, the world's armies would not be immediately dissolved but would work together to track and eliminate terrorists and other revolutionary movements. Thanks to the help of the Spirit, the tracking and elimination should go relatively smoothly. Meanwhile, Anders' new Forerunner technology would be put to good use to modernize the planet, which would also allow it to be cleaned up thanks to the operation of their new machine—a two-for-one deal.

Once the cities are modernized and the new UEG is ready to be established, the UNSC would be rebuilt, with elections and the remobilization of the armed forces happening simultaneously. For the first major infrastructures, the space elevator and naval shipyards would be among the first military constructions built, while the Spirit itself would use its mobile military factory capabilities to rebuild the space station. Earth was defenseless, and the first thing to do was to reestablish an ODP defense network. "Captain, Dr. O'Neil requests to see you!" He is waiting for you in the quarantine zone. Emerging from his train of thought, he stood up and went to see the medical officer.

(Quarantine Zone)

"Dr. O'Neil, do you have any news for me?" Cutter entered the room wearing a biological protection suit. The ship's doctor stood next to a table where the corpse of a male individual they had recovered during the drilling was located. The individual had been found next to the Stargate; at first glance, he had crossed the gate only to end up trapped under the ice.

"Yes, sir!" After studying the body and with the report from the Abydos mission, we have here what is known as a Jaffa! With a human appearance, you will notice a pouch in the belly area in which I found a reptilian creature resembling a snake... As he was giving his report, he showed various images he had taken during his autopsy, ranging from the Jaffa to the creature.

"Are you telling me he had that thing in his stomach?!" The question from his Commander was clearly filled with disbelief and disgust, because from what he saw, it was truly a snake.

"Yes, the creature and the Jaffa seem to live in symbiosis, which leads me to actually think that this Ra could also be one of these creatures." According to Colonel Jack O'Neill's report on the Jaffa, Ra, and Abydos, Dr. Daniel Jackson translated the story of this Ra from a fresco on Abydos, and when these extraterrestrials found Earth in a dying body, they chose a human with a more suitable physical physiology to take over his body. Although all of this is still just a hypothesis.

Cutter, although interested, had a question. "Although interesting, a written report would have sufficed, Doctor." It was neither a reprimand nor a true reproach, but rather an implied question because James suspected that his chief doctor wouldn't have bothered him without a valid reason, and he was right.

With a nod, he signaled James to follow him, "I know!" "But it's not for him that I called you here... but for her!" Passing into the next room, Cutter then saw a stasis pod of a clearly more advanced design than theirs. "We found it in the ice, much deeper than the door and the Jaffa, very close to the structure..." It was a human woman, after a brief pause O'neil continued, "... we managed to date the ice...It is between 5 and 10 million years old! Coffins much more advanced than theirs, indeed! It was in perfect condition, despite having been in the ice for millions of years. If Cutter hadn't seen it with his own eyes, he would never have believed it.

"Can we get her out of the ice?" If this Woman were near this structure, then she could teach them a lot, because from the first observations and analysis of this base, it had been built by a very advanced race.

"Alas, I do not recommend it, sir!" If she has been inside for millions of years, then it could be dangerous for her, or worse for us! Catching his breath, Dr. O'Neil continued, "It would be unfortunate if she were contaminated by a bacterium from our time without having the immune capacity to survive... or if she were the one carrying a microbe that could potentially cause a biological disaster!" Taking a deep breath, Dr. O'Neil continued, "It would be unfortunate if she were to be contaminated by a bacterium from our time without having the immune capacity to survive... or if she were the one carrying a microbe that could lead to a biological catastrophe! After all, she wasn't put in stasis for no reason!" After all, she wasn't put in stasis for no reason! I would advise establishing a complete decontamination and protection system and then creating a totally sterile zone before waking her up.

With a nod, Cutter wanted to take all possible precautions. "Before his awakening, I also want the neural machine to be ready!" If we fail to protect it, it would be a shame to lose the possibility of a brain potentially more advanced than ours!

The doctor then looked at him, raising his eyebrows. "You want to create an intelligent AI from its neural system?!"

Resolved, Cutter strengthened his determination. "She comes from a Human race that is millions of years old, so it is not impossible that she is physiologically superior to us." However, although I still hope to keep her alive, I prefer to take all precautions! Better to err on the side of caution than on the side of negligence!

With a glimmer of understanding in his eyes, O'neil said nothing more; if she was indeed an ancestor of the human race, then she had much to teach them, whether directly or indirectly. Moreover, they were really not certain they could put her back in stasis if things went wrong. "The preparation of a safe zone will take some time, but as long as she remains in the pod, she is not at risk."

"Do your best, Doctor!" If she could come out alive and healthy, it would make things easier for us. Then he withdrew, leaving his chief doctor to his work.

(Bridge of the Spirit of Fire/Orbit)

As Cutter entered the bridge of his ship, he saw that he had received a message on his main console. Entering his encryption key, he let a smile slip as he saw that it was a dossier drafted and sent by the heads of each government. They informed him that they had agreed to recreate the UEG and that they were ready to start the process as soon as possible.

"Captain?!" I just received a transmission from Professor Anders! She asked me to let you know that our own Hardlight materializer models are finished and in mass production, and that she has gathered her things; she wishes to go study the ancient base we discovered ! Should I give her your authorization ? Or your refusal ?»

Rubbing his jaw, he was not surprised for a single moment; if it hadn't been for her insistence on finishing the reverse engineering of the Forerunner device with Serina's help, Anders would already be at the South Pole. "Wish her a good journey on my behalf and have her relay anything that might be of interest to me!" Without another word, James Cutter found himself alone with Spock, the mascot of the Spirit of Fire, contemplating the empty space where there should have been installations if they had been in their time, but he was confident that things had remarkably moved in the right direction.

Soon, very soon, the UNSC would reform and assert itself among the stars, and those whom the galaxy calls the Tau'ri would become a major Galactic power!

-End of Chapter-

Here is the first chapter! As I said at the beginning, I don't know if I'm going to continue it; it was mainly an idea that had been on my mind. I don't even know if my writing style is good or not.

Until next time Take care!
