The emerging emperor

Chapter I

289 A.C, Winterfell, The North

Jon Snow was always curious, ever since his birth the young boy has wanted to explore, asking the Maester a million questions. His thirst of knowledge was well known within Winterfell. It was Jon who found the old plans for mines withing Lord Eddard Stark's solar. Plans that the previous lord was contemplating on. With that map and the idea to start smithing in winter town, the coffers started to fill up and the quality of northern steel slowly increasing day by day.

Luckily they had enough steel arm and armour a fair amount of soldiers by the time the Iron Islands decided to rebel against the crown king, Robert Baratheon. With that the Lord of Winterfell went off to teach the rotten squids a lesson, unfortunately that left his wife in charge. Caitlyn Tully nee Stark. A fair and buxom lady with locks of crimson adorning her head.

She hated Jon with a passion always trying to make sure he new his place as her husband's bastard, below her and her trueborn children. Lady Stark's treatment got worst after Ned left, barely feeding him, leaving him out in the cold and get Jon to do the worst jobs.

It was during one of these jobs the young boy had enough and ran off into the broken tower to hide from her. He decided to take the stairs down to the old forgotten cellar. A place which has became his sanctuary and quite place. An eight year old kid shouldn't have to need it but unfortunately he does. As the black hair kid kicks a loose rock in frustration at the wall it makes a weird noise. "What is that?" Jon mutters.

He cautiously creeps to the wall and knocks on the bricks. They sound like a normal stone Jon thought, that was until he heard a 'thunk thunk' sound. 'one of them is hollow!' so the boy quickly traces the outline of the stone to try and pull it out. After a few minutes he does it and finds an small polished decorative container made of ironwood, with carvings of mythical creatures dancing around it. 'what's in the box?' (kudos to those who get the ref!)

In a cautious manner he opens it up to see a dark crimson orb resting on a cusion of silk. The orb immediately capture Jon's attention, like nothing else matters anymore. No hunger pains or the cracked lips from dehydration. All that matters to him right now was the orb. The orb that is beckoning him like a sirans call. As soon as he touches it the orb springs to life and jumps out of the decorative container and hovers in the middle of the air.

Instead of fear the boy felt excitement. This is something new, something that would baffle the citadel itself and he has it right Infront him. Before he could try to touch it again it flies towards his chest. Making him fly onto the makeshift bed, rendering him unconscious.
