Ashlen trembled, heavy tears streaming down her face as she glared at the ground. She breathed heavily, any sobs wishing to come up instead sticking in her chest which only seemed to worsen her frustration. Without warning, she let out a loud scream and impulsively punched at the nearest tree with her good hand. The impact hurt but, in her frenzy of emotions, she barely noticed anything. Instead she growled as she in turn began kicking at the dirt and any small plants her feet could get at.
And finally the sobbing came out. And, once it did, she fell onto her knees; just barely stopping herself from falling over. Honestly, she probably wouldn't care one way or another if she did. All the young woman was aware of was the deep pain in her chest and the screaming thoughts plaguing her mind. Why? Why, why, why, why, why?! Why did this all happen? She hated herself. She hated what she had become. She hated her parents for letting it happen. She hated being so angry and untrusting. She hated the animalistic parts of herself. Most of all, in this exact moment, she hated not being able to turn into any of them without causing her an immense amount of pain.
Sobbing uncontrollably, Ashlen lifted a hand to her head, harshly gripping at her hair as she let out another scream. She hated this. She hated all of this. It wasn't fair. None of it was fair! She just wanted to go home. Get away from all this and be in the one place that makes her comfortable. But thanks to her recently damaged right arm she couldn't. She couldn't shift into her animal forms nor do anything that would require the use of a hand. Or both, given her other supported the injured arm almost one hundred percent of the time. At the very least she could still walk but, given she had no rats ass idea to where she was, even that was proving to be useless.
It was all his fault. That robotic alien that couldn't just leave her alone. That crazed Decepticon who apparently took an interest in her due to her ability to shift. She couldn't recall when or how it happened. Or why even, but it did. And he was persistent. Which was evident when he chased her down once she shifted into a bird and flew away. Fortunately Ashlen knew better than to lead him to her home on Dino-island, but in her haste to escape, hadn't paid attention to where she had been going. Which led to her being lost in the forest she was in now; her arm damaged from being knocked out of the sky while in bird form. Though a part of her knew she should feel fortunate it had only been her arm to get hurt, aside from a few scrapes and bruises, she felt no such thing. Especially not when she was now trapped with the very person, alien, robot... whatever, that caused all this in the first place. Or most of it.
While Ashlen knew for a very clear fact that he had been the one to knock her out of the sky, something in turn did it to him as well. What exactly that had been she was unaware of, as she had been more focused on trying to stop herself from falling than watching him. Perhaps even he had little idea, given his perplexed annoyance upon after hitting the ground. Due to his size, and the fact his fall hadn't been that big, he had been fortunate unlike her. No real body damage aside from a bent wing. Which meant he couldn't transform into a jet. Oh, and his comm system was down, so he couldn't call for help. Which, of course, hindered him very little from being able to grab her and continue his pursuit; despite Ashlen's attempt to run away.
It had been several days since that happened and she had since been forced to travel with him as they made their way through the forest. For the most part by being carried in his hand to prevent from trying to run away again. It had been made pretty clear early on that she was little more than his prisoner, and if she ever tried to escape, she'd end up regretting it. A threat she quickly came to believe as her struggles were met with a painful squeeze while still grasped in his hand. So, while she didn't want to, she complied. Given her right arm was useless, and her legs would only take her so far compared to his, there was only so much she could do anyways.
However, somewhere along the lines, a sort of civility begun to form between the two of them. Well, loosely saying, that is. Ever curious about the transforming organic, Blitzwing would take time out of their walk to attempt to examine her and ask questions. Ashlen on the other hand, though expressing her unhappiness about her situation, would keep quiet. For the most part ignoring the robot's questions while deflecting and openly refusing to answer others. Despite this, however, she had otherwise stopped any attempts of struggling or other ways of escape. So, while wishing to get his answers, he began to allow her to sit in his palm rather than keep her clenched in his fist.
That led to tonight. While other nights Blitzwing would trap Ashlen in a makeshift cage with his hand until she fell asleep, this time he didn't. While it couldn't be said they trusted one another, an understanding had been formed. Mostly in that if she attempted to escape he'd easily be able to hunt her down and she wouldn't like that. Which she easily believed. Even still, Ashlen couldn't resist the opportunity to sneak away when the gigantic robot fell asleep before her. Having small feet that didn't click has its advantages and, before she knew it, she was in a spot she considered safe. Safe enough to let loose all of the deep seeded emotions she had been holding in for the past several days now.
Gritting her teeth together, Ashlen glared furiously at the ground through tear infested eyes. She let out another scream as she let go of her hair to punch the ground; once again barely noticing the pain she'd very likely feel full force later. She really, truly did, hate all this. And yet above everything else, above wishing she could go home, above wishing she could be alone, above hating herself and even above hating her current situation, she... really wanted to tell someone what happened to her. She wanted to be honest about the experiments and, more than all that? Be honest about how badly she wanted to hurt the man responsible. To scream, cry, growl and unleash all her fury over what he had done to her.
But she couldn't. There was no one she trusted enough to confide such a thing in. Not who already knew the gist of it anyways, but even they didn't know the full story. Besides, despite wishing to find someone who'd understand her, she didn't need nor want the pity. Nor the risk of the attention it could bring to herself. And even if she did find someone to trust entirely, what would be the point in all of it? The man not only was in jail but a sentient walking pile of acid. Despite her deepest desire to do so, she'd never get her revenge on him. A thought which caused the girl's chest to tighten and her sobs to become hitched as new tears rapidly streamed down her face. Teeth clenched tightly as she continued to glare hatefully at nothing and raised her hand back to her head.
It wasn't fair. It... just wasn't fair.
This is a one shot based off a day dream I've had about my Transformers OC from A Past Better Forgotten. Except this version comes from the Animated series instead of Prime, and as such has a slightly, if not bigger different past. To explain a little bit, the biggest similarity is they were both experimented on as children but this version wasn't kidnapped. Her parents willfully signed her up for a experimental biochemical makeover while those were still in the testing phases. Initially I had it because the parents did it to make money but, now it's because Ashlen had a sickness/genetic disease no other doctor would help with.
To his credit, Prometheus Black was reluctant to experiment on a child at first, but the prospect of what his makeovers could do to children became too enticing in the end. But as Ashlen was still a child he couldn't do much without risking much happening to her. So he decided gene slicing to enhance her senses, which took several months and he wasn't the kindness to her. Well, long story short, the experiments worked but also had the unexpected effect of turning her into an "organic transformer" but she manages to escape before he could figure out what he did so he could do it again.
She was 9 years old at that time and, in the story, she's around 19 at this time. She lives on Dino-Island in to isolate herself from others and was there before the Dino-bots were brought there.
