Chapter 6 Fight

At the Black Bulls hideout, Asta, Noelle, Vanessa, and Dorothy faced Ian, Gido, and the Pawns.
"So what rank is this guy?" Asked Asta looking at Ian.
"Judging by that earring he has this guy is a Rook. They're lower then the Knights and Bishops p, but still stringer then the Pawns." Said Dorothy.
"You have a name?" Asked Asta looking at Ian.
"It's Ian." Said Ian.
"I'm Asta and I'll be taking back my Grimoire." Said Asta.
"Not likely." Said Ian.
"You want me to take this guy Asta?" Asked Noelle.
"No I can handle him. I'll leave the rest to you and the others." Said Asta.
Noelle nodded her head. Asta took a deep breath and he bolted at Ian. A couple of the Pawns rushed forward brandishing spears they thruster at Asta, but he jumped over them and delivered a powerful kick that took the Pawns by surprise knocking them to the ground. Another Pawn with a spear rushed at Asta and pointed his spear at Asta firing a burst of fire out of the end of it. Asta twisted his body and dodged the attack and punched the Pawn in the face shattering his mask and knocking him to the ground.
"Not bad kid, but I'm a bit tougher then these guys. Allow me to demonstrate. Python Whip!" Said Ian as he deployed his Weapon ÄRM.
The Python Whip was a powerful chain whip that Ian could move around and direct. It shot out of his sleeve and lashed out at Asta, who barely dodged out of the way. Asta jumped back to put a little distance between himself and Ian as he kept an eye on the Python Whip. The Black Bull had fought a chain magic user before and after he got his Grimoire, so he had experience fighting opponents like this and he had gotten much stronger and faster since then. Ian whipped the Python Whip around and Asta dodged around waiting for a opening.
As that happened Gido and the other pawns advanced towards Dorothy and the other Black Bulls. Noelle pointed her wand and cast Sea Dragon's Waterball at the oncoming Pawns. A few Pawns were quickly taken out as another fired some spells from their weapons. The Nobel quickly casted Sea Dragon's Nest around herself and her comrades and easily blocked the spells before dropping the shield she fired a few mode Sea Dragon Waterballs taking out more Pawns. Gido summoned her Weapons ÄRM a lance and charged at Noelle dodging her spells in the process, but just when it seemed she would reach the Black Bull and strike her, Vanessa stepped in and used her spell Arresting Dark Weave to summon her threads and wrapped them around Gido trapping her and making her drop her weapon in the process.
"Impressive." Said Dorothy.
"Thanks." Said Vanessa.
Back with the other battle, Asta continued to dodge the Python Whip, until he saw a opening that would allow him to clear the distance between him and Ian. Asta waited then he bolted forward and punched Ian hard in the gut as he yanked his Grimoire out of Ian's hand and jumped back.
"Not...a bad punch. Looks like I underestimated you." Grumbled Ian as he rubbed the spot where he had been punched.
"Wouldn't be the first time someone underestimated me." Said Asta as he pulled out his Demon-Slayer.
"Guess I'm going to have to take you seriously. Weapon ÄRM, Octopus!" Said Ian as eight bladed metal tentacles shot out of his sleeves and attacked Asta.
Asta quickly went on the defensive and blocked and deflected the attacks, before he slashed at the tentacles and cut the tips of them off with ease. Ian retreated back as he glanced at the ends of the tentacles and was impressed with how easily the sword had cut through them, though the Octopus's healing capabilities still seemed to be worker, though they seemed to be a bit slower then normal. The Rook then took notice of Gido being captured and quickly decided it was perhaps time to retreat. Ian yanked some rocks out of the ground and tossed them at Asta forcing him to slice them to bits. As that happened Ian sent a couple of the Octopus's tentacles over to Gido and cut her free.
"Thanks." Said Gido as she scrambled to her feet and rejoined Ian.
"Time to fallback." Said Ian to Gido and the Pawns.
Gido and the Pawns deployed their Dimension ÄRMs Magic Carpets and soon they were all on magical flying rugs and flying away from the hideout.
"Get back here! We're not done!" Yelled Asta.
"Will meet again Asta. Next time I'll beat you." Said Ian as the Magic Carpet he was on with Gido flew away.
Asta considered going into his Black Asta form and chase after the Chess, but Dorothy stopped him.
"Let him go, those guys were small fries." Said Dorothy.
"But wouldn't he lead us to where the rest of the Chess are?" Asked Asta.
"Yeah, but we don't know how many of there are. Most likely way stronger members and way too many for you to take on." Said Dorothy.
"Guess you got a point." Said Asta.
"Don't worry I know where they're based in MÄR Haven, so I can lead you and the rest of your squad there." Said Dorothy.
"So you're hiring us on?" Asked Noelle.
"I am. Princess Snow is already meeting with your king to get aid and I'm sure she'll get him to agree. I'm impressed with your skills and I think your squad would be very helpful to save MÄR Haven." Said Dorothy.
"Alright!" Said Asta pumping his fists in excitement.
Elsewhere in the Nobel Realm, Sekke Bronzazza had been enjoying his day off away from King Augustus trying to pick up some pretty women at a tavern, when the Chess began their attack. Naturally panic broke out and many citizens cried out for the Magic Knight to do something about the invaders. Sekke put on a brave face and headed out to combat to fight the Chess riding into battle on his Sekke Shooting Star. At first things had gone surprisingly well for Sekke as he fought some Pawns and managed to beat them without too much effort.
Perhaps this would be a easy victory for Sekke that would get him some fame and perhaps some lovely ladies. Sekke then looked at the palace and took note of the giant tree that appeared to be stretching over the wall. It didn't look like the Captain of the Golden Dawn's magic, so that meant that the palace was under attack! Sekke wasn't too thrilled by that, but he realized that King Augustus might be in danger and despite the king being a rather unpleasant individual he had a lot of trust and faith in Sekke as well as a short temper. If Sekke didn't try to rescue the king, he could face some serious consequences.
Sekke decided to go to the palace and try and save the king, as he headed that way he prayed that the whole thing would play out like the incident with the Eye of the Midnight Sun, where Sekke would save the king and both he and the king wouldn't be in too much danger and the whole current mess would blow over.
Sekke was traveling along, when a man jumped down from a nearby building and landed in his path. The Magic Knight stopped his vehicle and took in his challenger who was different from the guys he fought earlier.
The man before Sekke was a Bishop by the name of Avrute. He was a large man who wore a mask with one eye hole on the right side while the other side had a red pattern on it, a black outfit with horn-like protrusions on his head, and huge weapon ÄRM clawed gauntlet called Shelakey.
"You're not going anywhere." Said Avrute.
"Bah-ha! You think some brute will scare or stop me? I don't think so." Said Sekke dismounting the Sekke Shooting Star and took up a fighting stance.
Avrute took up a fighting stance. Sekke quickly used his Sekke Magnum Cannonball surrounding himself in a transparent defensive sphere and began firing spheres of energy at the Bishop. Avrute sliced through the attack spheres with ease and Sekke paled as he began to have flashbacks of his fight against Asta and feared that the enemy would cut through his protective sphere.
"Wait Avrute let me have some fun." Said a voice as a new person came onto the scene.
It was another Bishop, named Maira. He wore a cloak and a mask similar to a Pawn, though his mask had blue eyes and a creepy red smile on it.
"Maira." Greeted Avrute as he stepped to the side.
Sekke eyed the newcomer wondering what the new enemy would do.
"Vaqua." Said Maira as he summoned his Guardian ÄRM.
A enormous blob of slime with a singular red eye. Sekke's eyes went wide in horror as Vaqua fell on top of his sphere and engulfed it. The Sekke Magnum Cannonball held against the slimy creature, but Sekke saw it began to weaken and crack as small smoke began to rise from it. Vaqua was eating his way through the sphere and it would only be a matter of seconds before it collapsed!
"Bah-ha! This is terrible! Someone please help!" Cried Sekke.
Just when hope seemed loss and Sekke's luck had finally run out there was a whistling sound through the air and then the top of Vaqua's body that was on the sphere was sliced off along with the sphere itself. Sekke stared at the now open sky as the rest of Vaqua's body melted off what was left of the sphere and reformed.
"Ki-ki-ki. Looks like I ran into a couple of interesting guys to cut up." Said a voice Sekke immediately recognized and never thought he would be so happy to hear.
"Captain Jack!" Cried Sekke in relief at the sight of the Green Mantis Magic Knight Squad.
"Who are you?" Asked Jack.
"I'm...Bah-ha Sekke." Said Sekke trying to not sound hurt about being forgotten by his captain again.
"Who are you supposed to be?" Asked Avrute.
"I'm Captain of the Green Mantis Magic Knight Squad, Jack the Ripper and I'll be cutting you to pieces. Ki-ki-ki." Said Jack as he held his mana blades up.
"As if. You're just another snack to Vaqua." Said Maira as his Guardian rushed at Jack to devour him.
Jack smiled with glee as he preformed his Death Slash Lunatic Slash on the Guardian and sliced the creature to bits with with incredible speed. The attack was too quick and it scattered Vaqua into tiny pieces that were scattered far and wide. Maira let out a gasp of shock at the defeat of the Guardian, while Avrute charged forward at Jack swinging Shelakey. Jack deflected Shelakey and sliced Avrute across the chest ripping through his outfit and leaving a slash mark across the Bishop's chest. The blow sent Avrute flying and crashing into a building where he crumpled to the ground in a heap.
"Ki-ki-ki. Next." Said Jack turning his attention to Maira, whose confidence had left him after Vaqua and Avrute were defeated.
Maira tried to run away, but Jack easily caught up to the fleeing Chess and hit him in the back of the head with the blunt side of his blade knocking him onto the ground unconscious.
"Splendid Captain!" Said Sekke.
"Come on the real fun is happening at the palace." Said Jack as he grabbed Sekke by the front of his uniform.
Before Sekke could protest or do anything Jack took off to the palace dragging a screaming Sekke along with him.
