AN: Hello my dear readers and good friends, I am finally here at last with the next chapter. As usual, not going to bore you all with my reasons for getting this chapter out so late. Being a father and new position at work, blah blah blah. I just hope you all enjoy this chapter.
Chapter 6
Naruto looked over the cards in his hand before drawing his new card, beginning his turn. "Alright, now it's my turn to show you how it goes," he said as he looked at his new card, a strategy to best utilize his cards forming in his mind.
"I summon Shadow Beast- Wolf to the field in Attack Mode," Naruto said as a blue portal appeared next to him. From the portal ran out the pitch black wolf as it growled menacingly.
Shadow Beast- Wolf LV4 Beast ATK: 1800 DEF: 1000
"I will now target one Shadow Beast or Dark Star monster and pay Life Points, 100 times it's level. By doing so, I can Special Summon a new Shadow Beast monster to the field. I target Shadow Beast- Panther and pay 300 of my Life Points to summon my Shadow Beast- Fox to the field!"
Naruto- 2600-300= 2300
From the portal appeared a pitch black fox that had a long body and a fluffy tail. Wisps of darkness wafted off the summoned creature. It's eyes were a darkened gold color with a menacing red slit pupil. Alongside its body were golden colored cracks.

Akiza and the audience stood, interested in what Naruto had planned as he looked warmly at the growling fox.

"I use his special ability to banish a monster from my graveyard and Fox will copy that monster's level. So by removing Panther from play, Shadow Beast- Fox becomes a level 3 Tuner monster!"

"It's time, get ready Black Rose Dragon. I tune level 3 Shadow Beast- Fox with level 4 Shadow Beast -Wolf!

From the combined light of the two monsters, emerged a beast with a serpent-like body. It had rainbow feathers over a pitch black body and wisps of Shadows coming off of it. It's tail was whip-like with four black feathers protruding from it. Its elongated snout protruded from its black face as it huffed out multi-colored air. On the bottom of it four paws, which had four claws each, were pitch-black stars. It had golden iris's with black star shaped pupils.

It let loose a powerful roar that actually shook the arena and let loose a shockwave, an action that was mirrored by Black Rose Dragon. This action caused every Signer in the stadium: Akiza, Jack, Yusei, and Luna to grab their arms in pain as their marks glowed.
Rex Goodwin, who was watching the entire time, was shocked that Naruto was able to push Akiza so far that every Signer felt the pulse of Signer energy being released. He had thought that Naruto could have been a possible Signer due to his files, but that was obvious not the case. There was something about him that made the Dragon Marks act up, but what was it?
Akiza grinded her teeth at the intense pain from her arm as her Signer Mark glowed.
"Finally I have found you, Black Rose Dragon," Dark Star Feathered Serpent growled, though only Naruto and Luna heard it. "After all this time, I can finally pay you back for what you did and take back what is mine!"
"I use her special ability to target one Dark monster on the field," Naruto continued his turn. "I can gain Life Points equal to that monster's Attack or Defense points. I choose to gain the Defense of Dark Star Feathered Serpent!"

"Dark Star Feathered Serpent, lets not waste any more time. Attack Black Rose Dragon with Golden Dark Fire!" Naruto's monster gave a loud screech as a golden aura surrounded her before releasing gold and black fire at Black Rose Dragon.
"I counter with my Half Counter Trap card! Since you attacked my dragon, she now gains Attack equal to half of the original Attack of the attacking monster."
Black Rose Dragon ATK:24001350= 3750
"Oh no," Naruto panicked realizing his mistake in his haste to take down Akiza's ace monster. "Stop your attack Serpent!" Unfortunately it was too late as Black Rose Dragon released her own flames that overpowered Dark Star Feathered Serpents own assault.
"I activate my facedown card known as De-Synchro! This Spell card will allow me to split my monster back to the two monsters used to synchro summon her! And with your target gone, you destroy nothing!"
Dark Star Feathered Serpent smirked as she glowed before splitting into two lights that became Shadow Beast- Fox and Shadow Beast- Wolf. Akiza's flames rushed past as it missed Naruto's new monsters.

"Now I activate Shadow Beast- Fox ability again and I will banish my Shadow Beast- Owl to get him back to a level 3!"

"Now I tune my two monsters together again and Synchro Summon once more!

The monster glared hatefully at Black Rose Dragon who growled at her in response.
"I activate the Trap in my graveyard, Corrupted Pools of the Shadow Beasts! By removing it from the game, I can take one Dark monster in my graveyard and return it to my hand. The monster I return is my Shadow Beast- Tiger.
Sadly I won't be keeping him long as I activate Dark Star Feathered Serpent's second ability. By paying Life Points equal to half of his Attack points, then I can discard I card from my hand to draw a new one from my deck!" Naruto's monster glowed a Naruto himself discarded his card and drew a new one. "Now I set my card facedown and activate Relief of the Shadow Beast to send the Shadow Beast- Tiger I just discarded back to my deck and gain his Attack as Life Points."

"And with that I will end my turn and don't forget that my Trap card will activate and give me back the life I just lost times two."

"My tum!" Akiza said as she drew her next card. "And I will make this turn very simple for you Naruto. I'll lay one card facedown and end my turn."
"It seems Naruto has Akiza on the defensive as all she could do was play a facedown," the announcer commented. "Could the tiny duelist be the one to put a stop to the Black Rose!"

Naruto growled and swore that he is going to maim that man one day. "I draw!" Naruto said as he drew his card. "I pay 700 of my Life Points to Special Summon to the field Shadow Beast- Arachnid in Attack Mode!"

Shadow Beast- Arachnid LV3 ATK:1400 DEF:1000 Dark-Insect
"Next I'll activate my Core Creation of the Shadow Beast Spell card! I can target one Shadow Beast or Dark Star monster I control and double their Attack and Defense Points but I lose Life Points equal to its original Attack. The one I'm targeting is my Shadow Beast Arachnid!"
Shadow Beast- Arachnid- ATK:14002= 2800 DEF: 1000x2= 2000
'I have to force her to activate that facedown so Dark Star Feathered Serpent can get a clear shot,' Naruto thought. "Shadow Beast- Arachnid, destroy Black Rose Dragon!"
Shadow Beast- Arachnid's eyes glowed green as it fired green spider webs that wrapped around Black Rose Dragon. Black electricity traveled across the web and shocked the dragon, causing her to cry in pain before being destroyed.
Akiza- 2000-400= 1600
Naruto was surprised that the attack went through and Akiza did nothing to save her dragon. This wasn't supposed to happen! Feathered Serpent was supposed to be the one to take her out! Naruto risked a glance towards his monster who looked pissed, but not enraged at Naruto himself.
Catching Naruto's concerned glance, the Dark Star monster gave her master a gentle, even if annoyed, smile to calm him. Telling him that its not his fault and to finish this duel. Naruto nodded as he glared at Akiza again. "Now I'll have Dark Star Feathered Serpent destroy your overgrown weed! Destroy Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis!"
Akiza's monster was destroyed but the red head looked unconcerned. This made Naruto narrow his eyes as Akiza still looked like she was in full control of this duel. "I'll end may turn and my trap activates again to restore the life I gave up for Arachnid and with interest!"

"But I sadly have to give it up due to my Core Creation of the Shadow Beast, but its fine since I can still afford it."
Naruto- 7550-1400= 6150
(Naruto- 2 monsters, I facedown card, I card in hand)
Akiza drew her new card and nodded at it. "First I activate my Wicked Rebirth Trap card," she said flipping over her facedown card. By paying 800 of my Life Points, I can bring a Synchro type monster back from my graveyard and I have just the one in mind. My Black Rose Dragon!"
The trap released a light into the sky before it slammed into the ground behind Akiza. From the light, her dragon roared to life onto the field. "And she looks so happy to be back that she wants to do her one of favorite things. Incinerate every single card on the field! Go Black Rose Dragon!"
Akiza's mighty beast roared as a rapid and destructive swirl of wind washed across the field. This not only destroyed all of Naruto's monsters, it destroyed a good bit of the stadium and cut up Naruto who cried out in pain.
"And Naruto gets thrown back by the deadly onslaught of the Black Rose!" the announcer yelled out into his microphone. "She has completely wiped out the board! Can Naruto get back up?! Can he find a way to recover from this field of destructive assault?!"
"She's nothing but a witch!" Someone from the audience yelled out in rage at the action.
"Get her out of here" another yelled out.
"How dare you hurt that innocent kid you monster!" a third person yelled out.
This continued on as each person called Akiza a witch over and over, serving only to piss off the female Plant duelist. Naruto, hearing this, only felt bad for Akiza. while getting angrier at the taunting. He had a brief flashback of all the insults he went through growing up the insults and teasing. Even though he knew he had to take out Akiza's Black Rose Dragon, he couldn't help but to feel for her as he stood back up.
"I summon my Witch of the Black Rose in Attack mode!" Akiza, with rage on her face, yelled as her small monster appeared on the field.
Witch of the Black Rose LV4 ATK:1700 DEF:1200 Dark-Spellcaster Tuner
"Now when she is normal summoned onto the field, I get to draw a card and if it is anything but a monster then she is destroyed. Let's see if fate is smiling on you today, little boy!" Akiza drew and revealed it was a monster card. "Now that's just too bad. Witch of the Black Rose, attack his Life Points directly!".
Her monster pointed her staff at Naruto and blasted the blonde will a small beam of energy. He tried to dodge it, but it slightly grazed his shoulder, slightly singeing it.
Naruto- 6150-1700= 4450
"And I will now end my turn, but I wouldn't draw just yet as two of my monsters are coming back. Black Rose Dragon due to Wicked Rebirth's secondary Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis thanks to it being in my graveyard at my End Phase in Defense mode."

Naruto drew his card, doing his best to ignore the pain racking his body. Naruto could feel the slight sting from the breeze blowing into his numerous cuts and burns. 'This hand is not much help here!' he thought in worry. 'I have one shot left to take control of this duel and get my monster the chance to take out Black Rose Dragon.'
"I play Shadow Beast- Snake in Defense mode!" His Reptile type monster appeared on the field, coiled around his left leg. "Now that he has hit the field, I will use his ability to make your Black Rose Dragon lose half of her Attack."
With a loud hiss, Shadow Beast Snake vanished into the shadows before reappearing under the dragon & biting its foot.
Black Rose Dragon ATK:2400-1200= 1200
"Next, I'm going to pay Life Points by targeting my monster and lose Life Points equal to it's level times one hundred to bring back Shadow Beast Fox from my graveyard."
Naruto- 4450-200= 4250
"I'll banish the Shadow Beast Wolf in my graveyard to make my fox a level 4 monster. Now I tune my Shadow Beast Fox with my level 2 Shadow Beast Snake!
Beast of the sea, absorb the dying light of the darkened Stars. Rise
from the depths and darken the skies with your never-ending storms! I Synchro Summon Dark Star Leviathan!"
Shadow Beast Fox burst into green rings that surrounded Shadow Beast Snake who turned into two balls of light. A beam of light shot through before a new monster was cried out onto the field.
The monster had a huge serpentine body that was primarily blue and black. It had several large wing-like fins on its back and scaled body. Six more long wing-like fins were on its head and face that had two long whiskers. It's jaw was huge and it's teeth were as sharp as razor blades. On its chest was a huge black star encircled by smaller black stars. It had violet eyes and a black star for pupils. It had purple cracks along it body and wings.
Dark Star Leviathan LV6 ATK:2900 DEF:2200 Dark-Sea Serpent
The giant monster roared as it wrapped around Naruto, surprising everyone at yet another powerful looking beast owned by the boy. It glared down at Akiza and her monsters, especially Black Rose Dragon.
"With him now being Synchro Summoned, I can have a Shadow Beast monster join him from my graveyard as long as its level 4 or lower. So come on back and join the party Shadow Beast Arachnid."
The black stars on Dark Star Leviathan's body glowed before a beam shot out from him and hit the ground next to him. From it, Shadow Beast Arachnid appeared, clicking its mandibles.
Shadow Beast Arachnid LV3 ATK:1400 DEF:1000 Dark-Insect/Tuner
"Dark Star Leviathan, destroy Witch of the Black Rose! Black Geyser!" The stars and cracks on Naruto's monster glowed, along with its eyes as an orb of water formed in front of it. It opened it's jaws and roared at it as a powerful jetstream of water rushed and destroyed its target.
Akiza- 1600-1200= 400
"Next I'll have Shadow Beast Arachnid take out your Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis!" Like before, Arachnid wrapped it's web around it's target and released black electricity at it.
"I counter by sending the Hedge Guard in my hand to the grave," Akiza countered. " By doing so, my monster is safe from destruction."
"Fine, I'll end my turn," Naruto replied. 'With my set of cards, I should be safe.'
(Naruto- 2 monsters, 0 facedowns, 1 card in hand)
Audience
"Oh man this duel is crazy!" Leo fist pumped. "He has a counter for everything she does!"
"I know!" Dexter replied. "No matter how much her attacks knock him down, he just gets back up and fights back. That Synchro monster he summoned is so cool looking!"
"Yeah but that lest one was so cool," Leo said. "Man I just have to duel him again!"
"You will just lose again Leo, "Luna teased. "If he is able to keep up with Akiza like this, there is no telling how fast he would wipe you out." This earned her a glare from her twin brother.
"If he keeps this up, he might just beat able to beat Akiza," Tanner said with his arms crossed as Dr. Miyagi agreed with him with a nod. "He just needs to keep that momentum he just gained going."
Luna looked at Naruto, happy he was doing so well despite how roughed up he looked from the duel. She couldn't help the blush on her cheeks at his determined gaze, finding it made him look really handsome. 'You can do it Naruto!'
Back to the duel
"I drew!" Akiza began her tum. "The first thing I'm going to do is switch my Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis to Attack mode! Then I'll follow it up by summoning my Lonefire Blossom in Attack position!"
Lonefire Blossom LV3 ATK: 500 DEF: 1400 Fire-Plant
"I'm going to activate my new monster's special ability, but you would know all about it wouldn't you! I tribute Lonefire Blossom and summon from my deck, Rose Witch!"
Rose Witch LV4 ATK: 1600 DEF: 1000 Earth-Plant
Akiza's new monster swirl its thorny arms around before it struck a pose next to her other monsters. Naruto became nervous because if she played this right then this could be it.
"Now I activate my Black Rose Dragon's special effect! By banishing my last copy of Evil Thorn from my graveyard, I can change your Dark Star Leviathan's Attack to zero! Go, Black Binding Bloom!"
An ethereal version of Evil Thorn appeared in front of Black Rose Dragon before it lunged forward and bit down, destroying it. It's thorn vines glowed purple before they wrapped around Dark Star Leviathan.
Dark Star Leviathan ATK: 2900-2900= 0
Naruto's eyes widened as he watched his Synchro monster go from a powerful beast, to a weakened creature. Naruto was relying on his monster's high Attack power to hold back her attacks.
"Now Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis attack Dark Star Leviathan now!" The Plant type monster's vines stretched out and wrapped around the Sea Serpent type monster before crushing it, the destruction a shockwave that made Naruto lose his footing.
Naruto- 4250-2200= 2050
This was followed by Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis glowing red before it exploded, its effect damaging Naruto for another 800 points of damage.
Naruto- 2050-800= 1250
"Be prepared because my next attack will come from my Rose Witch! Take out his Shadow Beast Arachnid!" The witch cried out as she pointed her wooden staff and fired a beam at the spider, destroying it.
Naruto- 1250-200= 1050
Naruto slowly stood up, ignoring the pain his body was in. He refused to allow her the satisfaction of him staying on the ground.
"You put up a good fight, despite ignoring all the constant warnings that you should stand down and give up. And now, you will pay for your ignorance in your insistance! Black Rose Dragon, attack!"
The signature dragon of The Black Rose roared as it released a purple torrent of flames and black petals that engulfed Naruto. The blonde duelist cried in agony as the flames burnt away at his skin and clothes while his Life Points dropped to zero
Naruto- 1050-1200= 0
"And this duel is over! " The announcer said as Naruto dropped to his knees, his body in too much pain to stay standing anymore. His body was littered in burn marks and cuts, blood dripping from his wounds. The announcer hesitated but continued with his job. "Despite his best efforts, even he could not weed out The Black Rose as she continues on to the Finals to see who will duel against Jack Atlas!"
The crowd was absolutely silent as a medical team ran out onto the field to check on the young boy. No one dared to cheer, boo, or breath as they were all too shell shocked at seeing a young boy essentially being burned alive like that.
Tanner and Miyagi had their mouths wide open as they watched the paramedics check on Naruto. Even Leo was silent, not able to be his usual boisterous self. Dexter's eyes popped so far out that it looked like they would fall out of their sockets.
Luna's hands covered her mouth, unable to form any words in her horror and worry at Naruto's loss. She sobbed lightly at not only the sight of Naruto in pain, a boy who was the same age as her, but the feeling of pain and anger that was wafting off his deck in waves. The pain, sadness, and anger were too much for her as she began to cry.
"Oh Naruto. Please be alright.'
Up on the rails, Wolfe smirked, unbothered by the pain that Naruto was feeling. 'Heh, maybe now he will learn. The power that the Arcadia Movement possesses is nothing to joke about. It should be easier to recruit him now that he has tasted what we can offer him if he joins us. Only someone like Akiza will be able to show him that.'
AN: And that is a wrap for this chapter! We finally wrapped up this duel and I hope the ending shocked you. I wanted to make it clear here, that while Naruto and his deck are powerful, they are NOT the strongest. Not to mention, that Akiza is a much more powerful Psychic Duelist while also having WAY more experience than Naruto. While yes, the last duelist he faced had more experience, he was still about average and level with other duelist Naruto has faced. Akiza, was way above those. But still, he was a skilled duelist and pushed Akiza the farthest in the tournament so far and I wanted that to be shown here. I hope you all enjoyed the chapter and finale of the duel.
