The air in Pallet Town was unusually still, the quiet murmur of nature around Ash Ketchum's small home interrupted only by the faint rustling of leaves. It was a peaceful morning—until the doorbell rang. Ash, in the middle of preparing breakfast for Pikachu, stopped and raised an eyebrow. Who could that be? He hurriedly wiped his hands on a dish towel and walked to the door, wondering if it was just a delivery or perhaps someone needing directions.
When he opened the door, however, what he saw stopped him in his tracks.
A tall, imposing woman with strikingly cold blue eyes stood at his doorstep. She had long, silvery-blue hair that cascaded down her back, and a regal, military uniform that screamed authority. A large, fur-trimmed coat billowed around her shoulders, and there was a terrifying yet magnetic aura of power surrounding her. Despite the obvious danger she exuded, the smile on her lips was... unsettlingly playful.
"Um, hi," Ash muttered, stepping back from the door. "What, can I help you?"
"I'm Esdeath," she said simply, her voice as cool and commanding as the frost that seemed to follow her wherever she went. "And you, Ash Ketchum, are mine now."
Ash blinked, his mind racing to process the words. "What?!"
Esdeath tilted her head, still grinning. "I've decided you're going to be my possession moving forward."
"Wait, hold on a second!" Ash sputtered, his face flushing in confusion. "I—When did I agree to that?!"
Pikachu, sitting on Ash's shoulder, narrowed his eyes at the woman, clearly sensing something off. "Pika pika!" he chattered, his fur standing on end.
Esdeath ignored the little Pokémon, her gaze solely focused on Ash. "You don't need to agree to anything," she replied nonchalantly, stepping forward and placing a gloved hand on his shoulder, making him freeze. "You've already been chosen. Your innocence is so... refreshing. I think I might enjoy keeping you."
Ash's mind spun in disbelief. He had never heard of this woman before, and now she was claiming him as hers. He stepped back, hands held out defensively. "Look, I don't even know who you are! You can't just barge in and declare that I'm... I'm yours!"
Esdeath chuckled at his confusion. It was clear to her that Ash was a little out of his depth. "You don't have to be so formal, Ash. Just relax." Her voice softened a fraction, but there was still an undeniable edge to it. "I find your innocence... cute. You're so unaware of what's going on around you, aren't you? It's like you're living in your own little world, and that makes me want you more."
Ash flushed a deep red at the word "cute." He took a step back. "No! I'm not cute! I'm the Pokémon Champion! You can't just waltz in here and claim me like some prize!"
Pikachu stood protectively in front of Ash, his ears flicking with annoyance. "Pikachu!"
Esdeath looked at Pikachu, raising an eyebrow in amusement. "Oh, how cute, you have a little protector. Don't worry, I won't hurt your little friend. Not unless I have to."
"Please!" Ash tried again, desperate now. "I don't even know what you want! Why would you want me as your—your 'possession'?"
Esdeath's gaze softened for a moment, a slight glint of amusement dancing in her cold blue eyes. "Because, Ash, you're special. I can tell. You're different from the others I've encountered. You have a pure heart, and that makes you irresistible to me."
Ash was still stunned, his mouth opening and closing as he tried to form a response. "I'm not... I'm not some kind of prize, okay? I'm a person! I... I'm just Ash Ketchum, and I've got my own goals! My own dreams! I don't belong to anyone."
Esdeath smiled. It was a strange, almost indulgent smile. "You think you're free, don't you? But the truth is, Ash... the more you resist, the more I want you."
Her words hit him like a sudden rush of cold wind, leaving him frozen in place. Pikachu growled at her, but even he seemed to sense the overwhelming presence of the woman in front of them. Despite her beauty, there was something terrifying about her. And Ash wasn't sure how to handle it.
"I don't want to be anyone's possession," Ash muttered, still trying to keep his ground. "I'm my own person. I'm not some trophy to be won."
Esdeath stepped closer, her eyes never leaving his. "You're so stubborn. It's part of what makes you... cute. And that innocence you carry, it's something I want to protect." She paused, then her grin returned. "But make no mistake, Ash. You are mine now, whether you like it or not."
Ash swallowed, feeling a rush of heat rise to his face. "I—"
Before he could finish his sentence, Esdeath reached out and cupped his face in her gloved hands, causing him to freeze. She leaned in closer, her breath brushing against his skin. "Don't worry, Ash. You'll come to understand," she whispered.
Ash could barely process her words when Pikachu leapt in front of him with a sudden bolt of electricity. "Pika-chuuuu!" he shouted, his thunderbolt surging toward Esdeath.
Esdeath didn't even flinch. She raised a hand lazily, and the air around her froze, absorbing Pikachu's electricity in an instant. The crackling energy dissipated harmlessly.
Ash's jaw dropped. "How did you—?"
"Control over ice, Ash," Esdeath replied casually, lowering her hand. "It's quite effective against electrical attacks."
"But..." Ash was having trouble keeping up. "You can't just come in here and make demands!"
Esdeath chuckled softly. "Oh, I can do whatever I like, Ash. And I've decided that you'll be mine. I'll teach you how to embrace it."
"No!" Ash exclaimed, trying to push her hand off his face, but the icy cold of her fingers made him hesitate. "I don't need anyone to protect me or tell me what to do!"
Esdeath's smile deepened, and for a moment, she seemed to soften. "You're so strong, Ash. But strength comes in many forms. You'll learn to trust me eventually. After all..." She leaned down, her lips barely brushing his ear as she spoke. "I always get what I want."
Before Ash could protest again, she stepped back and regarded him with something akin to affection in her icy gaze. "We'll see how long it takes for you to accept it. I'm sure you'll come to appreciate the care I'll give you. No one else can protect you like I can."
Pikachu growled again, but Ash could only stare after her in a mix of disbelief and confusion. Esdeath had left him utterly speechless, standing in the doorway like a man caught between a dream and a nightmare.
Esdeath glanced back over her shoulder with a smirk. "Don't worry, Ash. I'll be back. We have... much more to discuss."
And with that, she vanished into the distance, leaving Ash standing there, flustered, bewildered, and with a strange, inexplicable feeling growing inside him.
"She's insane," Ash muttered, rubbing his forehead. "But... I don't know. Something about her... it's like she's... serious about this."
Pikachu gave a concerned "Pika pika," still standing firmly beside Ash.
Ash sighed, looking out over the horizon, wondering what on earth he was getting into. "What have I gotten myself into, buddy?"
Pikachu jumped onto Ash's shoulder, his fur still spiked in unease. "Pika..."
