Apologies for being absent but life has been lifeing and I hadn't had any motivation to write for a while. Anyways enjoy this new story I'm putting out, I've got most of chapter two written out.

"Hey Tohru…are you ready?" Kyo Sohma asked as he stood outside Tohru Honda's bedroom door. The sudden sound of a resounding thump caused the orange-haired boy to jump somewhat as a quiet 'ow' came from the room. The door opened, revealing a slightly out of breath Tohru.

"What were you doing in there?" Kyo asked, somewhat disturbed.

"I fell on my face," Tohru admitted, grinning nervously.

"Right," Kyo responded before rolling his eyes. "Let's get going before Rat boy gets-" A foot immediately connected with Kyo's face at that moment. The force of the kick sent Kyo down the hallway, crashing through his bedroom door and into his bedroom.

"For the record, I'm already annoyed that you're still around," Yuki said coldly, his steel gray eyes flashing before walking back down the stairs.

"Kyo…Yuki..I hope you two aren't fighting again," Shigure called out from the living room. Tohru looked at Kyo worriedly as he laid in his bedroom, declining to help him as she timidly walked down the stairs.

"Fucking rat," Kyo thought to himself as he laid on the floor, staring at the ceiling before standing up and walking out of the room. Tohru not helping him stung him a lot, and it only reminded him of her rejection after his true form was revealed during summer vacation. Since then, things have been more tense than ever. As Kyo dragged on behind Tohru and Yuki, the ill-tempered boy wondered, in despair, if anyone would accept him in this world. He was soon brought out of his dark thoughts by a smirking Uotani, who slapped him upside the head.

"Oww! What the hell was that for you damn yankee?!" Kyo yelled, glaring darkly at the blonde girl, who continued to smirk at him.

"You had your head in the clouds and I needed entertainment," Uotani replied.

"I'm gonna beat your ass for real this time you bitch!" Kyo yelled as he grabbed Uotani by her tie, a large vein pulsating on his forehead

"You couldn't even beat Prince over there. What makes you think you can beat me dumbass?!" Uotani retorted, Kyo's collar fisted tightly in her hand.

"Why am I always dragged into this?" Yuki muttered before dragging a hand down his face in exasperation, causing Tohru to giggle. It was at that moment that Hanajima, silent as ever, decided to speak.

"Restless spirit," Hanajima stated, causing Tohru, Yuki, and Kyo to freeze up immediately.

"Huh? What are you on about now Hana?" Uotani asked, baffled.

"I sense a restless spirit with Kyo and Sohma. Perhaps there's…an issue at the Sohma house?" Hanajima suggested, which made the trio even more nervous.

"You two wouldn't happen to be giving Tohru a hard time now, would you?" Uotani threatened, cracking her knuckles.

"Please believe us Uotani-san….Hanajima-san. Everything is okay," Yuki said, flashing a brilliant smile. Kyo scoffed before walking through the school gates, leaving everyone behind.

"That girl is creepy as hell," Kyo thought to himself, uncomfortable with how incredibly close the psychic girl was to the truth, not that it had been the first time she almost stumbled upon their secret anyways. As he continued walking, from his peripheral vision, a flash of blue passed by him. At first, Kyo thought it was Yuki's rabid top fan Minagawa but the shade was brighter compared to the crazed third year.

"That's a very weird shade of hair color. Not that I can talk," Kyo thought as he watched the person, a girl he presumed, walk away, the lengthy blue hair shining brightly in the sun.

"Who are you staring at Kyo?" an effeminate male voice asked, causing the cat spirit to jump nearly three feet in the air in fright. He spun around to see Momiji and Haru standing there, with Yuki, Tohru, and everyone else brought up the rear.

"Damn it Momiji!" Kyo yelled, annoyed. "I told you to stop sneaking up on me like that!"

"But I just wanted to know who you were looking at," Momiji whined as he peered into the distance. "Is it a girl?!" He was then slapped upside the head by an angry and somewhat flustered Kyo.

"Shut up you damn rabbit!" Kyo shouted, his face crimson. Over an hour later, in the homeroom classroom, Mayuko had gathered everyone's attention a few minutes after class started.

"Okay everyone. Now that I have your attention, we do have a new student joining us today," Mayuko announced. The sounds of students chattering soon filled the classroom, which left the brown-haired woman somewhat annoyed.

"I hope it's not another Yuki fangirl," Hiroshi stated.

"Maybe she's a badass like me," Uotani suggested. Kyo let out a loud scoff at that moment.

"The last thing we need is another yankee like you," Kyo said while looking outside the window, promptly leading an angry Uotani to throw her shoe at Kyo's head. Sufficiently annoyed at that point, Mayuko slammed her hand onto the desk, silencing the class almost immediately.

"As I was saying, we have a new student joining us this semester. Please come in, Miss Hyuga," Mayuko announced loudly. The door slid open and at that moment, Kyo's widened slightly. The student in question was a teenage girl of average height with a fair complexion, lengthy blue hair with blunt bangs covering her forehead, side bangs framing her face, and ghost white eyes that contained no visible pupils, giving off the appearance of her being visually impaired.

"Um, hello," the girl said, her voice soft like a breeze. "My name is Hinata Hyuga and I'm from Hokkaido and it's nice to meet everyone." She then bowed, which made almost everyone swoon. "Please take care of me."

"Very good. You can take the seat in the back next to Kyo back there," Mayuko said. While this was happening, Kyo tried hard to prevent the look of shock from appearing on his face.

"That's the girl I saw this morning," Kyo thought to himself as Hinata sat down in the vacant desk on Kyo's right. The two's eyes met briefly and Hinata immediately turned red before turning away.

"What's her deal?" Kyo thought as he too looked away, unaware that his own face had turned pink.

"The students here at Kaibara are nice… a little talkative but that's alright," Hinata thought to herself as she exited the Japanese Literature classroom. It was now noon and Hinata was wandering the hallways looking for a spot to eat her lunch. While she wasn't opposed to eating in the classroom, the students were drilling her with questions, mainly about the authenticity of her hair color, a genetic trait she inherited from her mother Suzume. She spotted a staircase and immediately headed up the steps. Moments later, Hinata found herself on top of the school roof, which made her smile at seemingly having the roof to herself. As she walked further however, she noticed a large amount of cats hanging around the roof, with a good chunk surrounding a boy. Interestingly enough, Hinata realized it was the boy she sat next to this morning in homeroom class, the one with the peculiar shade of orange hair named Kyo. Thinking she was disturbing him, Hinata turned to leave, only to step on a small rock. Kyo quickly sat up and whirled around, spotting Hinata, who was positively looking like a deer in headlights. She blushed profusely and bowed at that moment.

"I-I'm sorry!" Hinata squeaked, leaving the boy dumbfounded.

"The hell are you apologizing for? And why are you bowing?" Kyo asked, confused, which only left Hinata blushing even further.
"I thought I may have been disturbing you," Hinata admitted. A black cat walked up to her and rubbed itself against Hinata's left leg, which made her smile. The boy scoffed before returning to laying on his back within the cats, his eyes closed.

"Do whatever you want, as long you're quiet about it," he grunted. Smiling graciously, Hinata sat down a few feet away and started eating her lunch. For the next fifteen minutes, Hinata enjoyed the peaceful semi-solitude of not having students harass her about her hair color.

"I guess your hair color is completely natural?" Kyo asked, though it came out, more or less, as a statement. Hinata, who had been in the middle of eating her takoyaki, blinked, confused by the sudden question(?).

"Er..yes it is," Hinata confirmed and a small stretch of silence followed after that, not that Hinata minded. As she was about to eat her last onigiri, Hinata noticed that Kyo hadn't eaten anything. Standing to her feet, Hinata quietly approached him. Eyes closed, Kyo continued to lie there, at least until he felt someone standing over him. Opening his eyes, Kyo immediately let out a yelp as he saw Hinata standing over him, smiling, making him jump to his feet.

"What the hell, Tohru?! Why are you-" Kyo immediately stopped himself, realizing that he called her Tohru, which made him clench his fists tightly as he looked away, his chest constricting itself.

"Are you talking about Honda-san?" Hinata asked, baffled on why Kyo called her Tohru, the friendly brown-haired girl she had met this morning during homeroom class and Algebra.

"Arrgh! Forget I said anything!" Kyo yelled angrily as he stomped away from a confused Hinata.

"Sohma-san, wait!" Hinata exclaimed as she followed behind the angry boy.

"What is it?!" he snarled before facing the girl. Hinata was standing behind him, face full blown red, and in her hands was an onigiri.

"I-I saw that you hadn't eaten anything during lunch so if you want, I have an extra onigiri," Hinata said. Kyo opened his mouth but found himself unable to say anything as an image of Tohru stood next to Hinata.

"I can't….she's like Tohru," Kyo thought to himself, agonized. He then left, leaving a confused and sad Hinata on the roof by herself. She didn't see Kyo again for the rest of the day. Later on that afternoon, Hinata was exiting Kaibara, a pensive look on her face. Despite the somewhat intrusive questions from the students, Hinata really enjoyed her first day at Kaibara Municipal. With that being said however, she couldn't help but ponder Kyo's hostile behavior towards her after mistaking her for Tohru. Speaking of which, the overly polite girl (something Hinata quickly realized she had in common with), was quickly making her way over to Hinata, with Yuki, and two other boys Hinata didn't recognize. One was short with remarkably blond, somewhat wavy, hair, and light brown eyes. The other boy was taller with short and spiky stark white hair with black roots. While the blond boy was dressed in a modified girl's uniform with shorts instead of a skirt (a feat Hinata found admirable), the dual-haired boy's shirt was sleeveless and unbuttoned, exposing most of his broad chest, with a choker around his neck, and three piercings in each ear.

"Hyuga-san," Tohru greeted happily as she approached Hinata. "How was your first day here at Kaibara?" Before Hinata could answer, the blond boy immediately invaded Hinata's space at that moment.

"Hi there!" he greeted loudly. "You look like you give great hugs!"

"Eh?" Before the boy could hug Hinata, he was immediately jerked back by the white-haired teen.

"Knock it off Momiji," he said calmly. "You know you can't just go around and hug everybody, even if it is a cute girl."

"Momiji? That's such a cute name," Hinata thought while smiling. After a few seconds though, she realized what he said and immediately turned bright red.

"C-Cute?!" Hinata stumbled, extremely flustered.

"It's amazing how similar Hyuga-san and Honda-san are," Yuki thought, chuckling to himself.

"Anyways," Hinata said, calmed down enough to respond." I had a really great first day today. Everyone was so nice and friendly."

"Well mostly everyone anyways," she thought, thinking about her encounter with Kyo during lunch hours ago.

"Hyuga-san?" Hinata was pulled from her thoughts when she realized Yuki was standing right in front of her looking slightly concerned. "Is everything okay? You look like you have something on your mind." Hinata opened her mouth to reassure the silver-haired boy that everything was fine but instead, said something completely different.

"I think I made Sohma-san mad earlier," Hinata said before immediately closing her mouth, realizing what she had said.

"Kyo-kun?" Tohru asked, looking downcast. She had been wondering why she had not seen Kyo for the rest of the afternoon, although with how things have been going at the house especially after...that, she wasn't surprised that Kyo lashed out, and she felt terrible Hinata got caught up in something that had nothing to do with her. Hinata felt a hand on her shoulder and looked up at Yuki in confusion.

"Don't worry Hyuga-san. I'll talk to Kyo when I see him," Yuki reassured Hinata before giving her a charming smile. Hinata turned a brilliant red once more, proverbial steam coming out.

"He's like a prince," was the last thing Hinata thought before she fainted away. Yuki managed to catch her while awkwardly holding her away to avoid a certain situation.

"Hyuga-san!" Tohru exclaimed, panicking.

"Calm down Honda-san. She just fainted, that's all," Yuki replied but Tohru had already started her own downward spiral, uttering nonsense in the process. A look of exasperation appeared on Yuki's face as he pondered on what to do. Momiji was certainly not helping the situation either with him laughing at Tohru.

"Yuki, you can go ahead and walk Honda-san to work. Momiji and I will stay here until Hyuga-san wakes up," Haru volunteered.

"Are you sure?" Yuki asked.

"Yeah! We'll make sure she gets home all safe and sound," Momiji butted in. After a moment of hesitation, Yuki relented, giving Haru a warning of not doing anything inappropriate before leaving the school with Tohru. While waiting for Hinata to awaken, Haru took notice of her hair.

"If her hair had been black, it would've looked like Rin's," Haru thought to himself. A short time later, Hinata finally returned to being conscious again. As she opened her eyes, she saw Momiji and the nameless boy staring down at her, causing her to turn red from embarrassment as she realized what happened.

"Oh no…I fainted? I thought I got over that," Hinata thought in her mind as she covered her face in shame.

"Her face looks like a tomato Haru," Momiji pointed out.

"That's not nice Momiji," Haru said, though he silently agreed with Momiji's observation.

"I'm sorry for making you wait here while I was out," Hinata apologized as Haru helped her to her feet. She looked around and noticed that Yuki and Tohru were missing from the group.

"It's fine. It wasn't that long, also Yuki walked Honda-san to work before she became late," Haru replied.

"We told Yuki we would walk you home," Momiji added and Hinata nodded and soon the three left the school. As they were walking, Hinata realized that she still didn't know the white-haired boy's name.

"Er…I'm sorry but I don't think I caught your name," Hinata said nervously.

"Hatsuharu Sohma, but you can call me Haru," he replied.

"Okay…nice to meet you Haru-san and Momiji-kun," Hinata said while smiling before realizing what Haru said.

"You're related to Sohma-san and…er..Kyo-san?!" she exclaimed.

"All of us are cousins, including Momiji here," Haru replied. About fifteen minutes later, the trio arrived at Hinata's home. She then turned to the two boys and bowed.

"Thank you for taking care of me," Hinata said.

"Eeep!" Momiji gushed loudly. "You're super cute like Tohru-kun!" He tried to hug Hinata but once again Haru held him back once more.

"Knock it off Momiji," Haru said, now slightly irritated with the blond's antics.

"Can I come by your house tomorrow Hinata-chan?" Momiji asked, only to get dragged off by Haru. Hinata giggled as she watched Momiji complain about wanting to go into Hinata's home.

"The Sohmas are really interesting. Not to mention their unique hair colors," Hinata thought as she entered her home. Right around this same time, on the other side of town, Yuki arrived home after dropping Tohru off to work.

"Hello there Yuki," Shigure greeted breezily as he lounged in the living room while watching the television.

"Where's the stupid cat?" Yuki demanded, which caught the older man's attention.

"He's in the backyard. What's going on Yuki?" Shigure asked, only to be ignored as the gray-haired teen stormed off to the backyard.

"Something tells me I might've just accidentally given Kyo a death sentence," Shigure thought to himself as he followed behind Yuki. In the backyard, Kyo was busy practicing his katas, his mind heavy on how he behaved towards Hinata.

"I didn't mean to yell at that girl Hinata today. She's too similar to Tohru…and I overreacted. She had nothing to do with Tohru rejecting me. I'm such an idiot," Kyo thought darkly as he continued his training. Too deep into his dark thoughts, Kyo didn't notice Yuki walking towards him until he found himself on the receiving end of a brutal kick. The force sent Kyo a few feet away into a thorny bush as Yuki glared harshly at him.

"You jackass!" Kyo yelled as he scrambled to his feet, his sienna eyes turning orange and his pupils became slits at that moment. "What was that for?!" He deftly dodged the second kick Yuki sent his way before the two started fighting. Shigure could only watch in dismay as the pair violently duked it out, destroying anything that got in the way in the process.

"I wonder what happened at school today to set those two off. Kyo did come in more angry than usual," Shigure speculated silently. "Tohru will be disappointed that the garden was destroyed however." At one point, it seemed like Kyo had the upper hand as he and Yuki traded blows but, unfortunately for Kyo, Yuki saw an opening and slammed his fist into Kyo's stomach, stunning him momentarily before grabbing him by the throat.

"You dumb cat. Tohru rejected you after seeing your true form and you took it out on someone who had nothing to do with the situation at hand," Yuki spat, anger clouding his mind. "How idiotic can you be?!"

"You don't think I know that?!" Kyo croaked back. At that moment, Kyo felt the anger drain away from his body and his shoulders started shaking as he started breaking down. Angry with Kyo's sudden loss of will to fight, Yuki raised his fist to punch Kyo but was stopped by Shigure.

"Calm down Yuki!" Shigure shouted, looking uncharacteristically angry. "Look at Kyo right now!" His mind becoming clear, Yuki watched tears fall from the orange-haired boy's eyes, making Yuki falter.

"I…I didn't mean to…yell at her," Kyo cried. He pushed Yuki away and ran off into the forest, leaving a frozen Yuki standing there.

"...I think we need to have a serious talk about this," Shigure muttered. Yuki was lost in his own thoughts, thinking about how he managed to almost lose control. Somewhere in the back of his mind, the reasonable side knew that Kyo didn't mean to yell at the new girl but the irrational side was still flailing around, wanting to continue the fight with Kyo.

AN: This chapter was relatively easy to write seeing as how Hinata and Tohru are extremely similar in personalities.
