Damian POV
"Mother?" I asked sleepily. She had just finished telling different ways how to kill a man. Which was delightful, but I wasn't able to concentrate on what she was saying. When I entered into the room, I saw a young man being dragged out. Yes I know that my grandfather had his reasons, but I do not understand them. "Who was that man the guards were taking?"
"That man is in training." Mother told me, but I knew there were more than that.
"Damian, you should not be concerned about him." She added. Kissing me on the head, she got out of bed, turned off the lights, and closed the door. As soon as she left, I sprung out a bed. I was the grandson of the demon's head, I wasn't going to take what my mother said for an answer.
Nightwing's POV
I was woken up by a cold water being poured over me. As I sputtered and gasped, I watched as Deathstroke stepped in.
"What do you want?" I hissed
"Didn't I tell you that you would start training in a hour." Deathstroke simply said. After a few clicks, the chains fell. Grabbing my arm, Slade led me to a joining room. The room held racks for a different assortment of weapons, and the floor had different equipment used for training, then there was just the usual floor mat for sparring. Throwing me over to the mat, Deathstroke started to spout out instructions. Before I knew it, Deathstroke was offense and I was defense. I was able to throw off his kicks and punches, but every now and then he would get me. And it would hurt. Well what do I expect from a crazy assassin who was experimented on.
Damian's POV
Silently, I put on my training uniform. It was equipped with a mask, hood, a collapsible bo staff, nunchucks, and a few ninja stars. Being the grandson of the demon's head had it's perks. Once I was sure that my mother and grandfather went to bed, I left the room. The halls were dark and eerie. But that didn't frighten me. I was going to find out what they were hiding. The first thing to do was search for clues. So using the shadows, I crept through the hall, made my way down the stairs, and arrived at the dungeon. Hiding from a few guards, I started to throroughly check the holding cells. The man was bound to have had a holding cell down here somewhere. I was checking the fifth cell when I heard someone yawn. It was loud, and was made to be annoying. Maybe the prisoners down here would know about the man I was looking for.
Normal POV
"Did you really have to yawn like that, Baywatch?" Artemis asked annoyed at her boyfriend.
"Well, sue me for being tired." Came his snarky response.
"Enough." Aqualad's voice sounded through the cell, "Fighting won't solve anything."
"Sorry, Artemis." Kid apologized, "I just get cranky and annoying when we're being held in a cell by assassins, my best friend is being trained by psychopaths, and when I'm hungry. Like seriously, when do they the prisoners? I'm like literally dying of hunger here."
"Prisoners don't get food unless they earn it." a voice answered, surprising the supers.
Turning her direction to the entrance, M'gann saw a small figure in the lowly lit hall, "Who are you?" she asked, getting up to walk over.
"I ask the questions here." The voice snarkily replied, "Who are you?"
"Why should we trust you?" Robin asked, getting in a defensive stance.
"Because I may be able to help you. But of course there will always be a price."
"What's the price?" Batman questioned, shooting the figure a batglare, but surprisingly, he wasn't shaken by it.
"You answer my questions, and I'll. Bring down some food and water. And don't you think that you can lie. I know when I'm being lied to."
"And hows do we know that you aren't trying to get answers for Ra's?" Superboy asked crossing his arms over his chest.
"Grandfather doesn't even know that I'm down here. And I would like to keep it that way. So are you going to be cooperative, or are you willing to starve Flash Kid over there." Damian knew that he had them cornered.
"Alright. How about we answer the questions we see fit. And in return we can ask you question about your relations to the League of Shadows." Aqualad compromised.
"Alright." Walking closer to the light, the Team and the Bat's could get a better look at the kid. He couldn't be older than eight. He was wearing a League of Shadow's uniform and he was carrying numerous different weapons. They weren't able to see his face since it was hidden, but since the eyes were uncovered, they were able to see the color of his eyes. His eyes looked like they had a different array of greens.
Sitting Indian style in front of the cell doors, the child said, "I shall start. Do any of you know a prisoner that has ebony hair and wears a black Kevlar suit with a blue bird in the front?"
Recognizing that the kid was talking about, Wally responded, "Yeah we know him. Why? Do you have news about him?" There was a twinge of hope in his voice. He needed to know that his friend was alright.
"He is being trained by one of Grandfather's hired assassins."
"Will you be able to describe him?" Artemis asked. Since she was raised by a assassin, she was able to meet several different assassins. Maybe she would be able to identify him.
"He wears a orange and black mask. Calls himself Deathstroke."
"Crap."
"Why?"
"Deathstroke is bad news." Robin explained, "He has been after my brother ever since their run in."
"Who's down here? I here someone?" A burly voice traveled through the halls.
"Crap." Damian hissed. "I must go. This conversation is not over." Flipping away, the child disappeared into the shadows.
"Great," Wally's sarcastic voice whispered loud enough for the team to hear, "we just befriended a demon child."
"How do you know that he's a demon child?" M'gann asked with a twinge of annoyance.
"You saw him, right?! He looked like a killer! Even if we start trusting him, what makes you think that he won't poison the food that he gives us!" Wally nearly shouted. Earning himself a smack on the head by Artemis
"Shut up! Do you want us to get caught."
"Yes, I saw him. And you know what, I think that we can trust him."
"I just think that you are too trusting." Wally said clearly annoyed
"I agree with Miss Martian on this." Robin broke in
"You're kidding."
"No, Wally, I'm not. I think that she may be right."
"what do you say Batman?" Aqualad asked.
"I have nothing to say right now. Once we know more about this 'Damian', then we can decide." The Dark Knight simply stated.
