"You have your phone?" Harry asked as he fluttered around the living room, thinking of all the things Teddy might need on his first day of school.

"Yes." Teddy said with a roll of his eyes.

"Your lunch?"

"Yes."

"All your class books?"

"YES! Dad," Teddy whined, "I have everything I need, ugh, you're so annoying sometimes!"

Harry turned his head to hide a fond smile, and plucked Teddys set of keys out of the small key bowl on the black console table in front of the door. He turned to face Teddy and put a hand on his shoulder, "I am so proud of you Teddy. You are growing into such a fine young man. I know if your mom and dad were here they would be over the moon seeing how you've turned out. Try to ignore the stares and just be yourself. You're a bloody great guy, and anyone who can't see that isn't worth your time. I love you okay, stay safe, don't use your wand unless you're in danger, make sure you keep your face the same, no-"

"Changing, I know dad. I haven't lost control of my face since I was thirteen, and that was one time!" Teddy rolled his eyes again and hugged his dad tight. "I'll be good, and I'm ready to go. I don't want to be late." He took the keys from Harry, slung his bag over his shoulder, and gave a small wave as he went out the door.

Harry looked out the window and watched as he drove away alone towards his first day in this small town. He felt proud of his son, anxious for all his son has to face alone, and assurance that they can manage anything that comes their way. As he looked upon the wild, wet, forested grounds, he also felt hope that they could both learn to love it here.

-Page Break-

Teddy was full of nerves as he pulled into the parking lot of Forks High School. Everything was dreary here, and it made him feel like barfing. At least it smelled pretty good for the most part, like Earth, and moss, and rain. Nice natural scents, less jarring than the industrious pollution he was used to from living in New York. Not that the high school smelled much different, he sighed, all hormones, sweat, and way too many perfumes.

He gagged a bit and cast a subtle air clearing charm in front of his nose, so the sting of unwashed teenage bodies didn't bother him all day, and got out of the car. He was uncomfortably aware of the stares he is receiving. He was the only one he could see from a quick sweep of his eyes, that had any style. The people of Forks seemed as boring as the town around them. Sweatpants, hoodies, and natural hair, hardly even a brush of makeup, it was no wonder Teddy stood out like a beacon.

He was tall and muscular, had electric blue hair, a crisp white t-shirt peaking through a black dress shirt, black slacks, black Italian leather boots with electric blue laces, and a black leather jacket. Despite this being common wear for Teddy, he felt very overdressed as he looked around at his peers. Coughing gently, he slung his bag over his shoulder and made his way into the first building labeled "Front Office."

The woman at the front desk was wearing a plain purple t-shirt and her eyes widened as he walked up to her. "How may I help you today?" She said politely, still looking him up and down as if he were some strange creature.

"My name is Edward Lupin, today's my first day. You should have a schedule for me?" Teddy asked. He always hates having to introduce himself as Edward, though he knows he got the name from his grandfather, like his mother did, he would go by the name he likes to be called.

The secretaries eyes gained a spark of understanding, and she rustled through a large stack of seemingly disorganized papers to find his schedule and a map of the school. She put an X by each building and wrote down the names of the courses and teachers on the map so he knew exactly where to go. He thanked her and turned to leave, just as he was opening the door, another person was coming in.

Teddy didn't recognize her immediately because her face was hiding deep within her black hoodie, but when she looked up it was with a small parting of her lips. Teddy smiled and held the door open for her, as she stepped through. "You're Bella right? We met the other day?" Teddys smooth voice smiled.

"Yes, that's me." Bella muttered a bit shyly, looking down at her shoes. She seemed to fit right into Forks, Teddy thought she certainly dressed the same..

"I'll see you around, hope you have a good first day!" he left her to get her schedule and made his way to his first class. It was World History with an ancient looking teacher named , he had white wispy hair and looked more like he should be part of history rather than teaching it. He was agile, and had sharp eyes though, so Teddy took him very seriously. Though he had to correct his name with a "call me Teddy", the material was not too different from his last school.

He sat next to a young man that was trying way to hard to get his attention, but Teddy had already decided not to make friends here. He was going to leave in a couple months at least, or just after graduation at the most, so there was no point in making friends in this god-forsaken town. So he was polite enough, but did not volunteer any information or try to engage too much.

The class was over much sooner than he expected and he made his way to his next class with his eyes on his map, declining help from several students that offered to show him the way. His next class was English, taught by a charming woman with salt and pepper hair and a cheery personality. As soon as he stepped into this class he knew something was wrong. His eyes widened, locked onto golden ones set into a furious glare.

She had golden hair and eyes, red lips curled in distaste, a pale complexion, and a stunning eye for fashion. Teddys fingers twitched, he knew his wand could be out in a second, it was strapped to his forearm in a wand holster under a disillusionment charm. He knew what she was, he had seen his fair share of vampires in his life, but it's not often that he would see a "vegetarian". Unheard of to find one in a school full of human kids.

He took his seat in a daze, unable to focus on the class, his whole attention on the vampire in the row behind him. Never had a class passed so slowly in his life. When the bell rang he found the blond standing in front of his desk, nose crinkled in disgust. "You need to come with me," she demanded, her whole tone conveying how beneath her she thought he was.

"Come with you where? Why should I?" Teddy was aware of the gapping mouths of the kids around him, you didn't deny the Roselie Hale. In fact this was the first time in the two years that she had been in the school that she had blessed another student not in her family with her undivided attention.

She made a noise too low for normal humans to hear deep in the back of her throat. Teddy bared his teeth to show she couldn't push him around. She took a deep breath, "You must know why already, and I think we need to talk about this away from prying eyes, why don't we go outside?"

Teddy took a moment to think and flashed her a grin, "Hmm no I don't think so, it's lunchtime you see, but I wouldn't be opposed to a tête-à-tête in the cafeteria. I think somewhere with witnesses would be a better place to speak, don't you agree?"

Roselie looked like she swallowed a lemon, but she agreed with a stiff nod and a sniff. She flipped her hair over her shoulder and led the way to the cafeteria. Their walk was punctuated with the furious whispers of the students that saw them. By the time they made it to the Cullens table the gossip had spread that the new guy had an in with the most untouchable family in all of Forks.

Teddy paused as he entered the cafeteria and was grateful that he made the decision to talk in public, four vampires already sat at a round table near a floor-to-ceiling window that looks out into a small courtyard. He cautiously stepped forwards and sat at the table full of agitated vampires. This was the blood suckers he had been around since that one time he was exploring the stockyards when he was 15 and accidentally stumbled into a coven of ten, and they were much more friendly then this lot appeared to be.

Low growls surrounded him in what Teddy assumed was an attempt to intimidate him, but he had trained with his dad, so he was pretty sure he could handle anything. Teddy glared right back and snarled. He snapped his wand into his hand under the table and with a sharp flick and a tap on the underside of the table he wordlessly cast muffilato, so no one who wasn't at the table could overhear their conversation.

"What are you doing here dog?" Rosalie hissed.

"What the fuck are YOU doing here? Bloodsuckers in a high school? That's absurd!" Teddy said roughly, his hidden hand gripped firm on his wand. The Cullens and Hales glanced at each other with slight uncertainty.

"You," a man with bronze hair and deep bruises under his eyes started lowly, "You're not one of the Quileute boys? You're not from La Push are you?"

"What the fuck is that? No dude! If you were paying any attention at all I just moved here like three days ago from New York!" Teddy sighed and ran a hand through his hair before settling a sweeping glare at the vamps around him. "Blondie over there came up to me after English and demanded an audience. I've been rude, but you all have been rude first so I'm not apologizing. I see that you guys are vegetarian, so you leave me alone, I'll leave you alone. Sound good?"

Edward looked at him with a constipated expression and uttered between his teeth, "Not good enough. If new wolves moved into town we need to meet with your tribe and make a new treaty. I'm sorry we ambushed you, but we thought you were breaking a treaty signed a long time ago. My name is Edward Cullen. The "blondie" you so aptly named is Rosalie Hale, the big oaf next to her is Emmet Cullen, the pixy is Alice Cullen, and the silent one is Jasper Hale. You're the new student Teddy Lupin right?"

Teddy nodded his head in affirmation and took a moment to think before he relaxed and slipped his wand back into it's holster. He took his lunch bag out and spread it's contents in front of him while he answered. "That makes sense, but there's no need for a new treaty to be signed. Like I said, you don't fuck with me, I won't fuck with you, and there's no "new tribe". I moved here with my dad and he's not a wolf, he's just a wizard."

Emmet choked, eyes bugging out. "A what?!"

"A wizard. I'm one too, but I was born with lycanthrope, so I can turn into a wolf sometimes." As Teddy was chewing he noticed the baffled expressions spread plainly on their faces and his own eyes widened. "Oh my god! You guys are magical creatures and you don't know anything about the magical world?! The wizarding world? You've never met a wizard?" He started laughing in incredulity.

When the wheezes subsided Teddy beamed at them. "Well," he said, "You are all formally invited to my house tonight for dinner. How many are in you're coven?"

"Seven." Alice answered.

"All seven of you," Teddy reached in his backpack and tore out a slip of paper. He scrawled his address on it, and slapped it on the table. "Come by at seven, and don't worry, we'll invite you in." He polished off the last bite of his venison and gathered his bag. He ignored their attempts to get him to answer more questions now by giving them a little wave and walking to his next class. He was thinking of the look on his dads face when he told him they were having seven vampires over for dinner. The grin never left his face.
