"who's is this?" Auriana asked as she rushed into the kitchen, holding something up in her hand.
"what is it?" Talia questioned as she walked over, taking a sip of her coffee.
she then immediately spat it out when she saw the object.
Iris quickly rushed over, freezing when she saw what Auriana was holding.
"is that a positive pregnancy test!?" she cried out aloud.
"we are in our twenties so I guess it's possible. although I'm really bad at math so..." Auriana trailed off when she saw Talia was now sitting at the kitchen counter drinking her coffee again.
"hey Talia what's your opinion on this?" Auriana asked.
Talia immediately spat out her coffee again.
"why do you keep doing that?" Iris questioned.
"um..." Talia trailed off before gulping down the rest of her coffee.
"bye!" she then rushed past Auriana and out of the room.
a few moments of silence passed before Iris spoke up.
"its hers isn't it?" she sarcastically asked.
"yeah" Auriana nodded.
"moving faster than the speed of light! you and I, feel so right" a young teenage girl sang aloud as she tossed her long blue glitter stick in the air, sprinkling glitter over her. she was standing on a small stage in an old practice room with nothing but a few boxes and a couch filling the room.
she caught it with ease when it began falling. she had long dark brown hair with a faint tint of light blue tied back in a ponytail and pale blue eyes that twitched when the glitter fell on her. she was wearing a light blue shirt dress with black shorts underneath, very high navy blue socks and blue stud earrings.
"what are you doing?" an older teenage boy asked as he walked into the room. he had short dark brown hair that went down to his shoulders alongside amber eyes that shined with mischief. he was wearing a light blue shirt and brown jeans. there was also a blue, gold and white bracelet on his left hand.
"I'm practicing Ethan" the girl scowled as she hopped off the stage.
"for what Ava? you don't have magic and you're definitely not a singer" the boy laughed in reply.
"for fun of course! do you even know what fun is?" she remarked.
Ethan scoffed at the words.
"I know what fun is. I don't have the brain of a two year old. unlike you" he retorted.
"are you calling me dumb!?" Ava screeched.
"maybe" Ethan gave a small smirk before he was hit in the face by a flying long pink glitter stick.
"ow" he hissed as the stick fell to the ground.
"that's what you get for calling me dumb" Ava scowled, now standing next to an open box holding her glitter covered stick and a long orange glitter stick.
he groaned with anger as he covered his nose with one hand.
Ethan then left the room, still clearly mad.
"hmmm" a teenage girl hummed as she stood on a deck outside. she had long dirty blonde hair tied back in pigtails and blueish amber eyes. she wore a sleeveless light pink dress that went down to her knees, a black belt, black shorts and white, pink and black sneakers. there was also a white, gold and very light pink glove with a middle finger loop and a small pink gem embedded in the dorsal side on her right hand.
she then bent down onto her knees at the edge of the deck.
her finger tapped against the water's surface, causing that small section of lake to be covered in pink crystal.
"what are you doing Chloe?" another teenage girl asked as she walked across the deck towards her. her brownish green eyes stood out brightly against her short bright red hair. she was wearing an orange hoodie with the words 'magical disaster' written across the front, a white t-shirt poking out from underneath the hoodie on her chest, baggy brown shorts, high white socks with two red stripes at the top, black sneakers and white and orange headphones around her neck. there was also a gold and white leglet around her left thigh.
"practicing magic" the dirty blonde haired teenager replied as she stood up.
"on the ducks?" the redhead asked, pointing to a nearby duck with their foot stuck in the crystal.
"ah!" Chloe shrieked before hopping onto the crystal and sliding over to the duck.
she then tugged the duck's foot out of the crystal, cracking the pink surface.
"ducky okay?" the redhead squeaked as she walked over to the edge of the deck.
"no baby voice Penny" Chloe replied as she climbed back onto the deck next to her.
"wah, wah" the redhead whined before pulling up her headphones to cover her ears.
Chloe rolled her eyes as Penny then walked away, heading back inside.
"back inside I go! back inside I go!" Chloe quietly sang as she followed her.
a little girl sobbed, sitting in the shade of a tall tree.
"you okay?" the little girl looked up, only to see Ethan kneeling down in front of her. he was wearing the same outfit, but now with a black collared jacket and black boots.
"no. I can't find my mama" she sniffed.
"we'll help you find her" Ethan said as he helped her up while Chloe, Penny and Ava walked over.
"what's going on?" Chloe asked.
"she got separated from her mom" Ethan explained as the little girl whipped away her tears.
"oh no! what's your name?" Penny questioned, kneeling down to eye level with the little girl.
"I'm Emma. I was looking at some pretty flowers over there while my mom watched but then I heard a scream and when I turned around she was gone" the little girl explained as she pointed to a nearby bush before she began crying again.
"don't worry, my brother and my friends will find her. why don't we go get some ice cream in the meantime?" Ava asked as she walked over. she was wearing the same outfit but now had white and black sneakers on and her hair was out of its ponytail, now draped down her back.
Emma nodded before Ava led her away, giving the others a small nod of approval.
the trio nodded back before running to hide underneath the ground length leaves of a willow tree.
they then linked hands, creating the shape of a triangle between them.
"crystal locate" they said in unison, causing a circle of magic to appear around their feet.
a small ball of light appeared in the center of the circle of magic, quickly floating away.
"follow it!" Chloe cried out as she pulled her hands away.
she then ran off in the same direction as the ball of light as Penny and Ethan pulled their hands away and the circle of magic disappeared.
Penny and Ethan then followed as well.
"delicious! how's yours?" Ava asked before licking her vanilla ice cream.
"yummy" Emma replied with a small smile before licking her chocolate ice cream.
Chloe gave a small gasp when the ball of light disappeared.
"seriously?" Penny groaned when she saw where the ball of light had landed. there in front of them was a woman encased in dark red crystal, stuck in a sitting position, as if she had been pushed to the ground before being trapped.
Ethan bent down, whispering something as his hand lit up with a small blue circle of magic.
almost instantly the dark red crystal vanished into dust, freeing the woman.
"what happened? I was watching my daughter when someone grabbed me and pulled me away-wait. where's Emma!? where's my daughter!?" the woman cried out as Chloe helped her to her feet.
"she's with my sister. you're safe now ma'am" Ethan explained, giving a small bow.
Emma looked behind her and Ava with a slight confused look.
"mama!" she cried out, taking her hand out of Avas grasp and running towards the woman walking over with Ethan, Penny and Chloe.
"Emma!" the woman cried out as she hugged Emma.
"hey Ava, how was the ice cream? did you get any for me?" Ethan asked as he walked over.
"it was delicious and also, even if I had it would have melted by now" Ava smirked, gently tapping his nose once before giving a little giggle and running off.
"Ava!" he yelled as he ran after her.
"those two really like messing with each other, don't they?" Penny remarked with a smile.
"yeah" Chloe nodded.
A small blue circle of magic appeared on Ethan's hand, almost immediately shooting a thin, small spike of blue crystal in the direction of the dark haired woman nearby.
she dodged it with ease. she had long dark brown hair and amber eyes. she was wearing a white t-shirt with black stripes, black shorts and dark blue loafer shoes.
"you're supposed to target your opponent. not any bystanders" she said.
"sorry mom" Ethan apologized. his hair was light brown and tied back in a small ponytail by a spiky hairpiece and he had on a sleeveless dark blue jacket that went down to his knees. he was also wearing a sleeveless teal shirt with a blue gem embedded in the chest area, white pants with a gold belt, translucent light blue armlets on both arms and tall dark blue, gold and white boots. on his left wrist was a blue, gold and white bracelet.
"crystal thumbtack!" Penny yelled from the other side of the platform before he felt a sharp pain in his toe.
he then collapsed to the ground with a shriek.
"what in Xeris is this!?" he yelled when he pulled out an extra long thumbtack made of orange crystal from his shoe.
"just a little idea Ava gave me" Penny laughed. her hair was bright orange and her eyes were an orangish green color. she was wearing a sleeveless and strapless orange dress with white trim, bright orange shorts, orange and white wrist cuffs and tall orange, white and yellow boots. on her left leg was a gold and orange leglet.
"that is unusual and cruel. save it for Praxina" his mom replied.
"yes ma'am" Penny spoke with a small bow, her mood instantly changing.
"sorry I'm late!" Chloe called out as she jumped onto the platform. her hair was darkish pink and loose down her shoulder and she had on a sleeveless very light pink dress that went down to her knees with light pink trim at the bottom, white and light pink shorts and light pink arm warmers with light pink see through trim. on her right hand was a white, gold and light pink glove with a middle finger loop and a small white gem embedded in the dorsal side.
a white and purple flying baby horse quickly followed, translucent blue wings on her back.
the baby horse then turned into a cute white puppy with a tuft of black fur on her head.
"Enola!" Penny squealed as the puppy jumped into her arms.
"its okay Chloe. just watch the time more often okay?" Ethans mother told Chloe.
"yes miss Talia" Chloe apologized.
meanwhile Ava was lying on the couch at home scrolling through her phone.
"Ava, do you know where your mom and brother are?" a dark haired man asked as he entered the room. he had very short dark brown hair and the same pale blue eyes Ava had. he was wearing a white shirt, dark blue jeans, no shoes and a red watch.
"they're around town checking out bookstores" Ava quickly replied.
"again? that's the second time this week and they never even come back with anything" the man spoke.
"oh, they just thought they should do a second round to see if there was anything interesting" Ava quickly scrambled together as she sat up.
"I'm going to call her" the man said as he began leaving the room again.
"you know mom, she's always putting her phone on silent" Ava replied with a smile.
the man sighed.
"can you tell her to call me when she comes back? I need to talk to her about something" he asked.
"of course. you going somewhere?" she questioned.
"I'm just going to go check out a new pizza place with my friends" he replied before leaving the room completely.
"I'm back mom" a teenage girl sighed as she walked to the entrance of a large cave, taking off the rainbow heart pin on her shirt. she had strawberry blonde hair tied into a loose ponytail and hazel eyes. she was wearing a black shirt, dark red shorts, dark red boots and a lesbian flag colored bracelet. holding her hair in a ponytail was a black, white and red hairpiece.
"I can see that Emily. and change into your real form. I can never take you seriously when you look like a dumb earthling" the woman sitting on a rock deeper into the cave said. she had short burgundy colored hair that covered half her face and dark blue eyes. she wore a black long sleeved shirt with darkish red stripes, black tights with gold and darkish red lining, spiked black heels and half a mask under her hair.
the teenager, Emily sighed before tapping her hairpiece, causing her to transform. she now had light red hair tied in a high ponytail and hazel eyes. she was wearing a black long sleeved jumpsuit, a dark red belt with a bright red gem buckle, dark red boots and dark red finger-less gloves. holding up the ponytail was the same black, white and red hairpiece.
"you know if you just got one of these magic jewelry things you could disguise as a normal human" Emily remarked.
"I prefer looking like myself thank you very much" the woman, Emily's mother replied as she went back to watching the vision thing in the small waterfall splashing into the very small lake in the cave.
"what are you even watching?" Emily asked as she walked over to her mom, looking at the waterfall. there in the waterfall was a live image of Ava and Chloe hanging out in the park, untransformed.
"two of those stupid half-earthlings" her mother replied.
Emily looked closely at them, letting out the smallest gasp when she saw blue crystal in a bush.
"something wrong?" her mother asked.
"no, nothing. I just thought I saw a snail on Chloes shoulder" Emily excused.
her mother looked closely for a moment before scowling.
"well you saw wrong, there's nothing there" she spoke, frustration clear in her voice.
"I'm going off to fight them, stay here" she continued before teleporting away in a swirl of dark red.
"who did that?" Emily asked herself as she twirled her finger, making the image zoom in on the blue crystal in the bush.
