Evangelion Ball

Chapter 1 - Journey to the West

As Fourth Impact started to happen the young Shinji Ikari could only watch in horror as to what was happening around him. The only words that Shinji could mutter were

"What's happening?" to his dismay.

Kaworu said "We're witnessing Fourth Impact." Before Kaworu could explain any further, Willie's God Slaying ship Wunder rammed into Eva unit-13. As this happened Shinji yelled out Misato's name to no avail.

Misato said to her crew "Set the A.T field to maximum, contain the Eva inside, ready the guns! We are preventing the Fourth Impact at all costs!"

As Willie pressed on with all their might, they realized it was too late. All Misato could say was "Shinji!" with anger in her voice.

As Unit-13 elevated to the atmosphere continuing Fourth Impact all Shinji could say as tears ran down his face was, "Is this my fault? because I... because I."

But before he could finish his sentence Kaworu said to him, "This isn't your fault." "This is happening because I've become the 13th angel. I'm the trigger not you."

Shinji ask "What... What should I do? Kaworu."

Kaworu said to Shinji "Even after a soul is gone, its wishes and curses still remain in this world. A human's will is conveyed as information throughout the world and changes it. I'm sorry, this isn't the happiest you wanted and deserved. I'll close the Gates of Gulf now. I don't want you to worry anymore."

As Shinji heard his words, all he could do was say "Kaworu, I don't understand what you're telling me! I don't understand!"

As Shinji looked at Kaworu he noticed that the DDS choker that he was wearing was starting to activate. All he could do was look in horror as it was about to detonate.

With a look of sadness in his face and hopefulness in his voice Kaworu said "Keep looking, I know you'll find a place where you belong."

As the choker started the countdown to detonation Kaworu prepared to eject Shinji pod from Unit-13 and told him that he'll send him to a location away from here. As he prepared for his fate he said this to Shinji with a smile on his face. "Hey, don't give me that look we'll meet again, Shinji". As he said those words the DDS choker exploded.

Shinji yelled out Kaworu's name in horror as he saw his lifeless body covered with his own blood. All he could do was cry. As he got ejected from Unit-13. His pod sent him flying beyond his current location to parts unknown.

In Nerv HQ Gendo could only say to Fuyutsuki that "Everything is going as planned, it seems Captain Katsuragi acted as we predicted." Fuyutsuki with a sigh responded, "What should we do next, should we retrieve the Third Child?" Negative, we lost sight of him and in any case he's of no use to us anymore. We can continue our plans without him."

As the battle between Nerv and Willie died down. All Asuka could think of is how that "Brat" could make things worse for them as she was walking with Rei. As both the girls walked down the red wasteland, they both wondered where in the world did Shinji end up after being ejected from his Eva. Asuka told herself "We'll find him later, but for now we need to find a post so Willie can pick us up.

As Shinji's pod was flying at an unimaginable speed all he could think about was the death of his friend and all the damage he caused around him. It was too much for him to take, with the overwhelming speed it caused him to pass out. As he passed out his pod flew for hours before landing in a forest that seems to have been forgotten by time. As the unconscious Shinji lays in the ruins of his damaged pod a mysterious old man finds him.

Narrator: Just who is this mysterious man, is he a friend or foe? And what will become of Shinji Ikari. Find out next time on Evangelion Ball.

This is my first fanfic story. I enjoyed the evangelion rebuild films. It is what introduced me to the evangelion series. I'm writing this specific crossover fanfiction because I noticed there is a severe lack of rebuild fanfictions where rebuild Shinji has powers or is a badass, so I'm just trying to fill that niche, so what better than to do it than with Dragon ball. Anyway, I loved to hear your feedback and thoughts on this story and my writing in general. Next update will come out soon.

On March 1, 2024 we lost Akira Toriyama, the legendary creator of Dragon ball and Dr. Slump. He has no doubt left a huge mark on not just manga or anime, but pop culture as a whole. His unique imagination, compelling character, and iconic art style have inspired millions across generations.

Through his characters, Akira Toriyama has taught us many valuable life lessons, from Goku teaching us to work hard towards your anything you want out of life no matter how challenging it is, while not forgetting to have fun along the way, to Krillin teaching us to always sticking with your friends through good times and hard times, and Vegeta and Piccolo showing us that anybody can change despite where they start at in life, as long as you have the desire to want to be a better then you were yesterday and surround yourself with the right people.

For decades he has sparked the dreams of fans and creators alike to explore and create stories that bring their stories to life. Even now his influence continues to echo throughout countless stories. Akira Toriyama may not be with us today, but his works and influence still live on through the people who loved his work and those he inspired to go down a similar path to his.
